For reasons unknown, a gate between two dimensions cracked open by means of a portal. Dare you enter through it?

Once through the portal, you find yourself in familiar surroundings. However, you soon realize that this is not the same world you were standing in moments ago. Everything appears to be a mirrored version of the sixth floor corridor with some peculiar differences. Overgrown tendrils and fleshy membrane cover the walls and ground beneath you, and spores eerily float in the air. Goosebumps appear on your arms and your vision isn't very clear for it is colder, darker, and foggier here. The rest of the castle and grounds, for those who get that far, are no different. Not a single ray of sun shines in this topsy-turvy world where magic, you soon will discover, isn't as strong as it is in the brighter dimension you came from.

If your gut is telling you that this place is too creepy and that you should turn back now, then listen to it. Otherwise, explore this alternate Hogwarts at your own risk. Who knows what lurks within these walls.

The caretaker realized that the corridor was getting messier and messier despite that he had put in so much effort on cleaning at this place. Those bloody children, they really loved messing with his work, didn't they? This must be their fault. "Stupid children!" He muttered in anger, cursing and blaming them.

Angrily Flynn grabbed the mop and a bucket, back to moping this corridor again. He had put in so much effort, sweat and breath into cleaning the entire castle over and over again.

The distant muttering of the caretaker's voice awoke something that had been resting for a very long time. It was like music to its ears. Finally it had something to prey, something to quench its insane hunger. Without a moments hesitation, it slunk out of the room it had made its abode and began the hunt.

Still fuming in anger, Flynn kept cleaning the corridor. This was he had done everyday every time in his life, keeping the Hogwarts castle clean and spotless. But surely nobody cared about his presence nor appreciate his hard work for this castle.

"Seriously, children." The caretaker muttered out loud again as he continued mopping the corridor. He just kept doing his job while no children interrupting what he's doing.

Still listening to the beautiful music that was the caretakers angry mutterings, something ancient stealthily made its way closer, and closer to its prey. Its mouth watered at the prospect of soon quenching its insane hunger with something juicy and fresh.

Was it just his feeling or this place was a little bit quiet than usual?

But well, Flynn just ignored it and continued his work cleaning the corridor. Once he's done cleaning this floor, he still had million things to do. "If I caught any of those bloody children in this castle started making another mess, I will force them to clean their mess with no magic!" He muttered to himself. Sometimes those Hogwarts children needed to feel that it's so bloody difficult to keep this entire castle clean.

At least for now there's no rude children interrupting his work.

The scent grew stronger and stronger as it made its way through the castle, its pace quickening. It then rounded the corner and stopped at the sight: a human with his back turned, cleaning. Its mouth opened wide into a grotesque grin, revealing all of its razor sharp teeth.

Silently creeping forward, making use of the walls and ceiling it had been accustomed to for so long, it eyed its prey maliciously. No longer able to be patient, it dropped down, gripped the human's leg tightly with its long fingers, and started to drag him away.

“This school had better give me a raise!” Flynn roared as he retired the mop and sprayed liquid in the air with his spray bottle, right after turning into a more quiet section of the sixth floor corridor. To his dismay and horror, it seemed that he had to go for a second round to fully clean the whole floor. What was more curious however, was the fact that no one...no one has reacted to his outbursts.

Did the school close down for the day, and he missed the memo??! “Seriously, if these kids--”

But before he could even finish his threat, someone...or something made its presence known, latched onto his leg, and started dragging him forward, face down and onto the dirty floor. “WHAT IN THE--…LET ME GO! LET ME GOOO!” Flynn kicked his legs, flailed his arms about as he tried to flip over to see what got him. “HELP! ANYONE!!! HEEEEEEELP!”

Flynn lost grip of his spray bottle, leaving it behind on the dirty corridor as he continued to scream for help. “PLEASE! HELP ME!!! HEEEELLLPP!!!”

The saliva that had been filling its mouth had increased the moment it had got hold of its prey. The human's kicking and screaming egged it on, making it even more excited for its upcoming meal. The kicking and screaming made them taste rather tender.

It dragged the man down corridors, stairs, deeper into the castle. No matter how much he kicked and screamed, no one came to the rescue. Soon there was not a sound to be heard...

Once the students make it inside the portal they would come out see nothing out of the ordinary at first sight. Though near identical yet mirrored there lies a stagnant silence throughout the surroundings. Noticeably different surroundings..

Take another look around and one could see a spray bottle in the corner opposite where the Transfiguration classroom would normally be. Was that there beforehand?

Zoryn giggled as she made it through the other end of the portal. She was so PUMPED to see what sorts of exciting adventures would await her on the other side!! AND maybe she could ask Tenacius for a go on his hover board because that looked AWESOME.

Except.

Uh.

She was right back where she started.

Well that’s dumb.

This was so anticlimactic.

And yeah, she totally didn’t care about the spray bottle. Alright well this was boring. She was gonna go back to the common room now.

Leon made it through the portal only to find.. it looked exactly like where he had just come from.

The seventh year boy looked this way and that as he tried to figure out just where he was! Yeah okay.. he was on the 6th floor still and in Hogwarts, but this wasn't normal.. where were the people he had left behind? Not to mention everything looked slightly mirrored.. ahead of him should be the Transfiguration class room and instead there was..

A spray bottle?

Leon took a few steps toward it, almost wondering if this was how Alice felt when she went through the looking glass and ended up in wonderland! Though wonderland seemed to be bright and cheery..

This was.. quiet.

Too quiet.

Leon crept closer to the spray bottle, almost expecting to see "Spray me!" on it somewhere.

Ok that was a bit of a rough landing.

Tenacius pushed himself off the ground. That could've been such a cool flawless run but he got DISTRACTED by a weird lightshow thing. As he got up and turned to look for said weird lightshow-- there was nothing.

Nothing except the usual corridor with a few students, that Ravenclaw dude Leon and --"Zoryn?"

He picked up his hoverboard and walked about looking around "Didja all see that weird thing on the wall like a big.....tear... thing?" It was hard to put into words, specially when one had only seen it for a split second before plowing into it... into nothing it seems.

Something feels strange, but he couldnt put his finger on it. Subconsciously the silence was sensed but it would take a while for him to become aware of it, as well as everything seems to be the other way around.

Zoryn watched as the new arrival (Leon) crept around the corridor. Strange kid.

Y'know, it's funny. In all the excitement, she totally forgot what her real mission here was. "GRYFFINDAD!" Hi Prefect Tenacius. "YEAH, I was gonna save you from it!!" Since he basically saved her in CoMC. Sort of. But the black hole just plopped them right back to normal SO looks like there wasn't really a need for saving. "Are black holes normal?" Zoryn was just wondering. 'Cause they weren't normal at her primary school... But Hogwarts had a lot of not-normal stuff.

SO YEAH.

Also, if anything was mirrored... Zoryn DEFINITELY did NOT notice.

OH and "What's that?" she pointed eagerly to his hoverboard. Because PRIORITIES. That and the hole thing ended up being super boring, so she wasn't interested anymore. What a shame. There was so much potential.

Okay, something was totally weird here..It was cold, it was quiet and what was that in the air? Leon didn't like the look of it at all. Were they suddenly in a weird sci-fi show?

He turned as he heard something and squinted his grey eyes at the new comers.. Even with his good vision every thing seemed a bit hard to see.

"Hey guys. " Leon said with a nod as he walked towards the younger students, he wanted to stay closer to them.. because he was older and he could protect them..

"I'm Leon, Leon Kennedy.. " because might as well introduce yourself when you were in said creepy sci-if world, yeah?

"And yeah I noticed the tear, walked through it and now I'm here.. what.. do you suppose these things are? " He asked as he squinted at the spores in the air and waved his hand around.. let's hope he wasn't going to end up puking slugs out of his mouth by the end of this. Or being used as some sort of egg incubator or something..

Before going in through the portal, Kitty had commanded her quick quotes quill to leave a note behind in case the portal vanished after she stepped through. The not read: I, Kitty DuGray Valentine, was patrolling on regular prefect patrols when I heard a scream nearby. Running to investigate, I found a huge hole on the wall, with eerie glowing light and tendrils coming out of it. I don't know what it is, but I think maybe the girl who shouted went in. I'm going in after her. I hope it's not dangerous, but I don't know. I'm afraid the hole will vanish if I leave to get help. I'm leaving one of the pictures I took with the note so you know what to look for if it vanishes. I hope I'll be back soon. I love you all.

Now she had stepped through the portal and was on the other side. The first thing she noticed was of how cold it was. It was hard to see through the darkness and fog, but Kitty thought she could make out other forms nearby. Were they other students? She heard a voice that sounded a lot like Leon's.

"Hello?" she called out uncertainly, squinting through the fog and holding her arms out in front of her. "Leon, is that you? What is this place?"

He smiled at Zoryn calling him that, Gryffindad, it was a bit weird, but a good kind of weird. "Black holes...." was she referring to that weird tear thing "They're.... normal in outer space. Not quite a thing around Hogwarts, as far as I know anyway...." he looked at the older boy Leon. Maybe he's seen this kind of weird before?

And then he looked at what the older Ravenclaw was referring to.... he didnt even notice they were there until now "Uhm.... I dunno, really bad dust bunnies?" he glanced around again before adding "Looks like Flynn is skipping on his duties, this place looks like its in need of a good clean up." Cough. Just to prove his point.

Whats what? Tenacius followed Zoryn's hand and grinned "My cruiser, helps me get around the castle faster-- for patrols and stuff." yep yep adding a legit reason there.

And then there was another familiar voice calling out. He turned his head and squinted-- gosh it is just him or is it overly dim in Hogwarts right now? "Kitty is that you?" he called out to his fellow Prefect.

"What is this place?" she asked them, looking around at the tendril covered walls. Slowly she raised her camera and snapped a picture of them.

Leon was waiting a bit to see if the others were going to respond to him when he heard another voice..

"Kitty? " Chinese Fireballs what was she doing here? He moved closer to her and sighed in relief as he found that she was all right..

Though he had to refrain from an eye roll as The younger boy spoke about this place needing a good clean up..

"Uhhh, I think there is something else going on here. " Leon said as he pointed to the tendril covered floors and walls and the spores floating around in the air.. "That portal led up somewhere.. but where? "

Was this an alternate dimension?

Leon smiled a bit at Kitty.. "Well, I'm not sure what this place is,. Maybe a darker.. shadow Hogwarts? "

Or you know, one infested with aliens, who were going to use their bodies as incubators for their little aliens..

There could be that too. But he'd rather not say that out loud.

The further the students explored the more untidy the area appeared. It became more apparent that while unkept the students were not the first visitors here on this side. Track marks could be seen leading to the stairs and.. was that a shoe below?

Kitty was glad to see Leon was here too. Turning to him, she nodded solemnly at his suggestion. "A shadow Hogwarts? Curious." She regarded the tendrils on the walls more closely, and reaching a hand forward - touched one of them and preparing to jump back in case they moved. She spotted footprints on the ground.

"I'm going to stick around and follow these track marks, unless you think we should get a teacher," she announced, feeling much braver in the presence of friends. "But if we stay, we should absolutely stick together. There could be hags lurking around the corner." It certainly looked filthy enough for them...

Ugh.

"A shadow Hogwarts....." the Gryffindor repeated as he looked around. He had some trouble wrapping his mind around that, because other than it being really filthy, it looked pretty much the same as any other corridor "Guys for all we know this could be some part of school that we dont always use-- I mean that tear thing was on a wall, maybe this place is just a secret part of Hogwarts? I mean this school got lots of secret passageways... and maybe because we dont use it, Flynn doesnt clean it?" makes some sense right?

Ok so apparently there are track marks on the floor "Yeah sure lets follow it, find our way back to where the rest of civilization is ...." he chuckled. "So we'll go find a Prof and then tell 'em.... that Flynn has been skipping on his cleaning duties?" Man he cant wait to see the look on Flynn's face when he tells him he's got something on him!

The other side of the Portal.

Carl had been holding his breath as he stepped through the Portal, half-expecting something horrible to happen. But no, everything was fine. It was just the sixth floor corridor of Hogwarts. Or was it? He looked around again. Everything was mirrored and not very clear (perhaps because of the fog?) and there was creepy stuff growing on the walls and the ground. On the other hand... there were people!

"Hey, guys." The Hufflepuff said and went over to them. He recognized Tenacius and the Ravenclaw Prefect and gave them and the other two students a small smile. "Is everyone okay? This place is creepy... Lumos." The tip of his wand lit up, but the light was very weak. He frowned. Did magic not work here or something?

This was becoming really creepy.

She felt like the passage should have been more turbulent than it was, but in the end she simply walked through the mysterious light- feeling a strange pull on her gut as she did so, but walking on her own feet all the same. She emerged with wide eyes, glancing about herself warily and hardly able to see into the corridor around her. The rooms had the same shape, but it clearly wasn't the place she had come from; pretty much everything about the atmosphere was just... wrong. Not to mention the plants.

She could hear voices echoing further down the hallway, but they were distorted oddly by the space they were in, and she couldn't make out who was there. Just other students...?
"Hello?" she called tentatively, slipping her wand from her robes and advancing along the corridor, eyes wide as she glanced about her. Maybe she couldn't actually do much to defend herself with magic, but she felt better just for having her wand in her hand.

As Leon looked around more, he noticed that there were track marks and a shoe.. and what was with that water bottle he saw earlier.. Had someone dropped it?

He nodded at Kitty as she spoke. "Yes, we should all stick together.. " He said as he moved closer to the group of kids.. So far he was the oldest and it was up to him to protect them! He took his wand out and sighed at Kitty's words.. "If it's the Hag again..Ughhh.. " Hadn't two term with her gene enough?

He turned his attention to the Gryffindor Prefect and shook his head.. "Somehow I don't think this is just another part of Hogwarts, with the spores? The gross plant things, the dark, the cold.. Not to mention.. this place is mirrored..

We are not in Hogwarts anymore.. At least I don't think..Maybe?" Though this place WAS magical.. but still.. Ugh he was Ravenclawing so hard right now..

He saw a few other kids coming through the portal and he waved at them. "Hey guys! I'm Leon, we should all stick together. " He said with a nod..as he waved them over..

He didn't want to sound like some bossy older seventh year or take over.. but he wanted to make sure all of them were safe..

Safety in numbers, yeah?

He also noticed what happened when the younger Hufflepuff boy lit up his wand.. it barely glowed...

Huh..

"So, shall we follow the tracks? And what's with the shoe? And the Spray bottle? " He asked curiously..
