"Trying to hide from me?" she teased softly whispering a hushed word to one of the kids sat beside Jace. When they scooted over Hady smiled her thanks and slipped down onto the bench beside him wrapping an arm around his shoulders. "Didn't think I'd leave here without seeing you first, did you?"
Jace soon realized that maybe Hady will never be able to spot him, given the limited time she had coming in and out of each table, greeting all of her friends, and probably saying words of farewell before she board the train one last time. The thought made his stomach churn. Separation anxiety, perhaps?
The loud giggle, sudden appearance of balloons, and the popping noise made the Ravenclaw jump in his seat bringing him back to the present. Confetti and love notes started to rain down on them, and Jace immediately picked a random one that landed on the back of his hand and just stared at it. The fourteen year old scrunched up his face and spared Rooney a glance. There wasn't anything discreet about their male prefect, hmm? The half-Japanese shook his black mane and more confetti fell on his shoulders.
Thank Merlin Rooney didn't think of including glitter in those balloons. He'd totally mess up everyone's dinner.
Before he could rise up from his seat to call it a night, Jace felt an arm wrap around his shoulders, and immediately blushed at the contact. It was the good kind of blushing though.
"N-no...why would I?" Jace gave Hady a sheepish grin, and began to scratch the back of his ear awkwardly.
"I was looking for you a while ago...seems you're busy with friends..." Yes, friends like Haddie Denaker. Why did she even think of her as...an okay person in the first place? Jace will probably never know, given that Hady is leaving and all.
"You're too kind..." The fourteen year old trailed off, wishing she'd never leave. She was an awesome Head Girl, and she's definitely someone he could call on for help in academics and then some.
"I-I got you something. A parting gift, as what you call it." he said as he procured a wooden doll from his robes.
"I didn't have the time to wrap it, because it just came in the mail earlier today." All the way from the Japan!
"It's...it's a Kokeshi Doll, and my grandma from Japan used an Extension Charm on it so you could store small items. Jewelries...notes...wizarding coins..." he said as he pulled away half of the doll, revealing it to be hollow, and placed two thirds of his arm inside it. Lots of room for her things! After replacing the half part back, he then gently pushed the gift towards the Head Girl,
"I...hope you like it." he said bowing his head a little. It wasn't much, but it was a gift nonetheless.
