| | Office of Professor Rosalyn Newton The first thing you notice upon walking inside Professor Newton's office is that the entire back wall is filled with bookcases. These books cover a wide range of topics from history to art and anything in between as she has many interests. Any student is welcome to read from them so long as they take proper care of them. There are also a few muggle paintings scattered around the room. A plate of cookies is always kept on her desk in case any of her visitors get hungry and there is a tea service as well. A couple comfy chairs are situated in front of the desk for students to sit on while they visit. |

As to how she was feeling... "I couldn't be better. I had a bad headache earlier, but it seems to have vanished. Just spent some time in the kitchen with the house elves." Such amazing creatures. "How are you?" she asked as she led the way into her office. Once inside, she set about putting the kettle on and putting together a snack for them. Mmm, scones. Art smiled happily at the mention of tea. "Oh that sounds perfect," he said, feeling his soul crave it. Tea was a very important thing. He wasn't too glad to hear that his niece had a headache though. "Oh, I'm glad it's gone. I'm sure I can brew something up if you need it." Or Healer Miller. His concern turned to a chuckle at themention of the house elves. "Oh yes, they are a good bunch. I got some help from uhh.. f-from Tippin the other day." He was glad to hear he wasn't the only one who seemed happy to get to know the elves. "Oh not bad, not bad. Knees are playing up a bit but other than that everything's fine. Sidney sent me a new photo of little Liesel, too," he said, pulling out a little moving photo of the 10-week-old. He missed them all a lot, especially now that there was an innocent new face in the family, but he was very happy that he had family here too. He followed her into the office and his eyes scanned the room, taking in the many books and paintings. "You did a great job in here, it looks wonderful." He sat down on one of the comfy chairs, carefully lowering himself at first before flopping down when he was sure where he would fall.

He sat down on one of the comfy chairs, carefully lowering himself at first before flopping down when he was sure where he would fall. Nodding at what Uncle Art was saying - and sending him occasional glances in the process - Rosalyn finished setting things up for the tea and placed the plate of scones on her desk. "I was expecting you to come by soon." These visits were always lovely and she would be stopping by his office at some point later. For now, however, she wanted him to see what she had done with the place. "It would be very appreciated if you could," she said in reply to his offer. Sadly there wasn't too much she could do to help him out besides if he wanted to borrow books or rack her brain for information on history. Though she WAS pretty good with Charms; that was Gaston's field though and she wouldn't want to step on his toes. "Oh. Help from him after the Gryffindor party? How did that go?" All these House parties sounded amazing. It would have been awesome to join her fellow Ravenclaws if possible but sadly it couldn't happen.
At the mention of his knee, she nodded. She had noticed that something had seemed slightly off with him and clearly his legs were the problem. It was slightly concerning but Rosalyn knew that her uncle would be able to take care of things. "Have you been to see Joy yet?" She would definitely be able to come up with something to help with the soreness and might even have it in stock. Before she could ask anything more about it, he was showing her a picture of little baby Liesel. "She is absolutely gorgeous. I can't wait to be able to go and see her." Uncle Art would be even more excited to. Soon enough hopefully; it would be amazing to see the entire family and babies were always wonderful additions. Smiling, she watched him take a seat at the desk and did the same immediately afterward. The tea would be ready soon and she could sit for a bit before pouring two cups out. "Thank you, I am rather pleased with what I managed to do. It feels a little like home to me." Personal effects helped with that as did the books. There could never be too many books as far as she was concerned. |
