When the list had been posted for the final duel of the term Hady wasn't sure how she felt. It was the final one, not just for the term but the last one for her here at Hogwarts. This was it. Her all had to be given just as always and then some. Last term her final duel had been against a YATI. This year she had expected the same until she saw the listing.

No YATI for her.

Was this person worse or better. A man from the ministry. A department head. Gidyun. Did he know her father since they were in the ministry together? Probably not. Would he know her aunt though? Did all department head know one another there? Her aunt wasn't currently there though having just left on maternity leave to have a baby. Maybe she'd owl home after the duel.

Entering the arena in her dueling robes, hair tied back as always she made her way to the center. "Hello Sir," she greeted with a very light smile which was quickly replaced with her usual blank face for a proper duel. Focus. As long as she focused and tried her best then she had this. Even if she got her butt whipped it was alright.

Bowing at the waist she maintained eye contact even as she straightened up, turned and walked to her spot. Wand held firmly in her hand and held at the ready, the first of her charms fell from her lips before she even had a chance to think it through. "Colloshoo," was sent his way quickly followed up with a quiet Stinging Hex. Hazel eyes never left the man even as she began to move about not keeping to one spot.

Gid had been looking forward to this for the last few weeks. He knew this was a good group to test and help get an idea how the students were and what they were capable of, to see who the future YATI might be coming into the ministry in the next few years. He stepped inside the room and waited for his turn to approach the arena. Finally stepping into the arena he saw the young girl who made her way forward as well. "Hello." he said with a small smile. He wasn't going to go easy but really try and see her style at first at least.

He could tell she was quite focused on the duel. He bowed as well when she did. Always follow the basics of a duel, and he was happy to see her doing that. His eyes remained on hers, as soon as the first spell was cast he immediately moved in the opposite direction she was moving and focusing only on her words and what she was saying when she cast the spells his way. The first spell missed him though he just barely missed having his feet glued to the ground. However, he felt a sting with the stinging jinx.

He sent a Scorching Spell her way as a first spell and without a second thought said "expelliarmus" without a warning hoping to take her by surprise.

The greeting was fairly simply but the small smile she received proved that if anything this guy wasn't a complete grump. The way he bowed and never took his eyes off of Hady instantly knew what he was doing, the same she was. Watching every move, taking notice to the smallest detail, learning the style. Very smart of him and very expected seeing as how he was the head of his department at the ministry.

Her first spell was easily sidestepped but the stinging hex hit it's mark. It hadn't been much and Gidyun showed no signs that it had effected him at all but it was just the point of the matter. There was no time to be happy just yet the duel was still very much in play.

"Protego Horribilis!" the teen cast without much thought in it. Normally she would just go with protego but who knew what this guy had up his sleeve for her. The force with which the scorching spell hit her shield sent it straight back towards Gidyun. And boy was Hady glad she had used this shield when his other spell struck it before it finally faltered. She did not need to lose hold of her wand right now!

For added measure she also went ahead and cast "Bombarda" just off to the side of him more as a distraction before directing her wand onto her opponent. She wasn't about to cast anything else just yet, she just wanted it to appear like she might.
