As is customary at any party, there is a fantastically fun dance floor! Being the first thing you see when you enter the dungeon and taking up most of the space at this event, it is decked out with beautiful paper marigolds in many vibrant colours. There are skull-shaped lights hanging over the dance floor to light your way. But the coolest part of the room is the skeleton mariachi band! They will play you the salsa, rumba, cha-cha, tango, samba, and any other Latin American songs you can possibly fathom. If you're lucky, they might even know some current songs with a mariachi twist.
Come and dance, dance, dance UNTIL YOU DIE! Hahahaha -- we mean, come dance and have a great TIME!

"Well you see calm, cool and collected in the flirting situation I think made me more attractive.." he smirked. As he brought her into a slow dance position, he felt her arms around his neck and he raised his eyebrows in astonishment. He didn't expect that.
He looked around for the supervisors and realized there weren't any. They were in the clear but had to keep their distance. "I can notice that.." he said and raised a brow when she played with one of his dreadlocks. Bold move Juno Darcy. Bold move. Then when he asked if she knew who he was, she was correct. She didn't have to whisper it but it made it kind of romantic. He smiled widely and nodded, "Right you are Miss. Darcy. He broke away from her and leaned down and took her hand and kissed it. Being the pirate gentlemen he was portraying. "I take it you know the Pirate of the Caribbean Movies then?" He never knew if Juno was part muggle or not.
Juno gave one quick chuckle at that comment. Maybe it was true. Calm, cool, and collected he was when they had first met. Juno however had been an absolute mess that day. Though, she had found out some very disturbing things about her father's side of the family a couple days before that trip to Diagon Alley, which was probably a factor in why she was so shy that day. It had been a lot to wrap her head around. She grinned, "You may be quite right about that. I apologize for being absolutely silly that day." She paused for dramatic effect, "I'm not used to handsome guys coming up and talking to me." She really wasn't but working with Brian as much as she was, she was starting to get used to talking with cute boys. Of course there was Oliver as well who had spent a lot of summer with them, but he was just a friend.
Juno gave him a coquettish grin as he kissed her hand. A tingling sensation went up her arm at the feel of his lips on her hand. She giggled a little, he made a very good impression of Jack Sparrow that was for sure. Rolling her eyes with a grin, she responded, "Of course! My father is a half blood. His mother is muggle born, but liked to make sure he watched muggle shows and movies as well as wizarding ones...he passed on the tradition." Some of her favorite shows and movies were muggle made.
The pace of the song picked up again. A salsa...lets see if he could handle her moves. She let go of his hand and grabbed hold of her skirt, giving a good salsa step before hitting a pose. "Care to Salsa, Captain?" She said with a come-hither grin.

Oh.
Ohhh. Uerrmrmrmm. It took a second for Char to realise that of course Blaise would ask that, because he'd been on holiday with herself and Dalton and that was the reason and not because he was psychic or something.
"Well, he doesn't really dance.... and I came on my own! And I might dance with other people too..." And there were THINGS for her to think about right now. "I'm not sure if he's even here."
Of course she wouldn't use it on him. Charlotte of all people knew how he felt about having spells cast on him and she was one of his nicer friends. There were several people he'd sooner see casting that at him than her. "Yeah...I guess..." He mused, paying more attention to the music than the magic talk if he was being perfectly honest. "But I meant something that would give the snakes the power to turn people to stone themselves." If that sort of thing was even possible.
Much like he was sure his quill was, the boy found himself oddly disappointed with that response. It was so very.....clear cut. So straightforward. Dude just didn't like dancing and Char had plans to dance with everyone she had a mind to. "Oh." Literally his only comment as he tossed aside the response.
"I should have dragged Bentley out here. We could'a started a conga line." Which....probably didn't match the rhythm and pace of this particular music very well but so what?

Drifting towards the Halloween part, the Friar could hear the steady music from within. A mariachi band? Alfred chortled cheerfully as he glided towards the music. Did anyone mind a ghost on the dance floor? He hoped not!
"Pardon me-pardon me-" he said as he attempted not touch anyone, but he had accidentally glided through a certain William Shakespeare [DaniDinardo]. "Oh, so sorry, Mr. Shakespeaer-" Alfred said quickly. In the process of trying to get away from Blaise Bellaire, the Friar drifted right through Medusa [Tegz]. "Oh my goodness! Miss Gorgon, please-" He bowed his head, wiggling out of the way.

She’d barely had to take a step to keep upright, anyway, and she rewarded the answer with a shrug. “Who were you looking for?” Not that she particularly felt as if she’d know where that person was, or really cared about if she knew. It just was the best response to give, considering she doubted the brunette was going to bother apologizing for running into her. She wasn’t about to give her the satisfaction of asking for an apology either.
“Not my kind of music,” she added, idly taking another drink from the cup in her hand. The smirk only got a bit of a raised eyebrow. A queen could do a lot more than just dance in front of her subjects, and if Nat really cared to know, queens rarely made fools of themselves in front of their subjects.
She’d raised her eyebrow again at the question. “The band? I’ve heard better.” Yes, including the Sirens.
Once Nat straightened up herself she brushed her costume off like it was wrinkled, though her tighter fitting costume surely wouldn't have wrinkled. "I was looking for Lily, but I don't think she is here yet." The lion was probably making herself look gorgeous as always, but she was sure her band mate would soon show up. Her eyes moved around again, "So you are here alone?" She might have just been asking because she was curious or she was asking to try to avoid and awkward situation.
"It's fun to hear the different kinds of music though. I enjoy a variety. Plus it's festive so it works." She could agree with Brooklyn they weren't her favorite, but she wasn't going to judge them either. She knew how it was to get up and play in front of people so bravo for this Mariachi Band. She might have started swaying to the beat as she kept listening.
"Oh I don't think they are bad at all. What kind of music do you like then? "

Azura slowly made her way to the dance floor after she had gotten to eat a taco or two.. and thankfully nothing had gotten on her dress or her gloves!
Speaking of which, she pulled her gloves back on as she bopped her head around to the music.. This dress was made for dancing, though sadly it was made for dancing some epically lovely waltz and not what was being played right now..
But ehh..
She was here, might as well dance right? She looked around for her Prince but sadly it seemed she had lost her boyfriend in the crowd.. Maybe she should call out for Romeo?
She giggled a little as she started to move a bit to the beat.. Rumba was kinda fun..

How did these people where these clothes? Chris pulled at the collar a bit and looked around. And how had he lost his girlfriend? She was in a bright yellow dress for goodness sake. He grabbed a few snacks and looked around. There were quite a few people dressed up. At least he didn't feel too weird.
His eyes landed on a familiar figure and he laughed to himself as he watched her. Head bopping? Really? Grinning he scarfed the rest of the food down and put on his best prince impression.
He walked over and bowed in front of her slightly. "Milady." This was kind of fun he had to admit.

"So dancing.. you wanna try it out? " She asked him with a grin. Despite her epic clumsiness.. she could actually dance., and stay on her feet..
Mostly at least.

Right, of course, dark magic. Artifacts. Things he wouldn't mess with if given half a chance on his own. Good to know. "You'd only get in trouble with your parents. I don't think there are any Professors left that'll really make a fuss about it." Or anything else for that matter. He was sure Char could light half the castle on fire and leave with a slap on the wrist--or even worse, gasp, point loss. Truly treacherous for a house that collectively didn't seem as bothered about the cup as the others did.
"Sure, just don't--" Before he could caution her not to lose balance, he found his teeth chatter and a cold chill run all the way through him.
Merlin's bloody beard, what was that?
Blaise gapped at Char's offer, not remembering when that consensus had been reached--especially given the sudden intrusion just now. But....."So long as you don't run us through again. Hypothermia is not the way I see myself going."
He leaned a little closer to his friend. "You don't think he'll want to be twirled too, do you?"

The Friar, while feeling guilty about the floating through the students thing, was also very cheerful that they didn't mind his company! He smiled widely. "I'll do my best!" he folded his hands atop his tummy and nodded at Shakespeare. "I do say, Medusa and William would have made quite the interesting couple, even if one or both of their existences are questionable," he grinned. He was a well read friar, you see, as most men of the cloth had to be back in the middle ages.
It was time to dance, though, and he unfolded his hands and began to boogie. Fingers in the air, moving his hands up and down, his bum wiggling. Boogying over here. He would have attempted to bum-bump Blaise or Charlotte, but alas, he was a ghost. And Blaise had just asked him not to run through them again!

Jasper Quinn had no idea why he'd decided to come to the Halloween party. He'd been excited for the dressing up part of the night, that much was certain. He also thought he'd done rather spectacularly with his costume, even if he doubted that anyone around would recognise the character... then again, there should be a number of muggleborns that might...
He thought that he'd seen someone dressed as Cersei... if they knew of Game of Thrones they had to be familiar with X-men right?
That remained to be seen.
Though maybe it'd be better if he wasn't recognised? Would be draw more attention to himself if he was recognised or if he wasn't? But then again, he'd dyed his hair silver... and was wearing mostly silver... that wasn't a good start to blending in anyway.
Green eyes frantically searched the room for someone familiar before he backed out of this ridiculous idea.

Alfred thought it amusing that they thought he literally believed them to be a couple. It made him laugh! "Of course you two are not a couple! I know," he smiled. "I just think the two characters dancing together and imagining that as a couple is so funny! I apologize for the misunderstanding!" More laughter. He continued dancing until Medusa had a wonderful idea.
"Can I join the line?" he asked excitedly. "I'll lead! No one will accidentally touch me, that way!" He didn't want to make anyone cold! He glanced at the boy Blaise Shakespeare addressed. "Yes, you should join us! It'll be fun!" Alfred had already starting wiggling his hips as if he was doing a conga!
Having caught his bearings again and gotten over the sudden shock to his internal system, Blaise pulled himself together enough to twirl his friend once more--because she asked and why not? Sure looked like she was having fun doing it. Twirling her was just as fun too.
But Merlin, this ghost was happening a lot, wasn't he? Medusa and Shakespeare? Him and Char? If she hadn't done such a good job of setting the Friar straight, he may have done so on his own. No thought was cast to the quill that recorded it and twisted it as it heard it. If worst came to worst, he'd just rip the page out.
"What she said." He didn't even want to THINK about what'd happen if he tried being anything more with Char. She was his friend and he loved her but NOT like that and not enough to have anything else on him broken. "We're friends and will stay that way for my own sanity and physical health."
Aaaaannnddd conga line!! They would be needing more people.
Like this guy right here. He didn't seem to be waiting on anyone and if he did, they could join too. Blaise gestured the boy over. "Come join our conga line mate, it'll be brilliant fun! Just watch for the Friar." Who was...currently....shaking about and dancing around like it was nobody's business.
Which reminded him, would the Friar be joining the line? Who would he hold on to? Certainly not him.

Jasper's attention was grabbed by another male calling him over for a... conga line?
He supposed that joining it would be a lot less... well awkward than standing around hoping someone that he knew would grab him. Better yet, the guy that was talking to him didn't seem too much older than him. All those things encouraged him to move his feet towards the other boy.
"Sure, sounds like fun," he was hoping that he sounded more confident than he felt. He still just wanted to turn around and leave. At the other boys comment about the Friar, Jazz's eyes shifted to look at the ghost in question. His eyebrows lifted slightly, before he looked questioning at the other boy. At least the ghost seemed to be enjoying the party? "I don't think we'll be able to avoid him... even if we try..." Jazz muttered to the other boy, cringing slightly at the thought of accidentally going through the ghost.
Even a small touch was always terrible.
But then the Friar was so enthusiastic about it that there was definitely no way that Jasper could deny his request to join the conga line. Even if it wasn't his conga line.
He was going to leave it to the other boy and girl to discuss that with the ghost though, instead he just grinned at the ghost's enthusiasm.
Colt couldn't imagine why. I mean this girl had all the confidence a guy would be looking for. Plus she was cute I mean he was sure girls dated her before. "Well I think guys are missing out and you weren't being silly you were being yourself. Nothing to be ashamed about it. You think I am perfect at talking to girls. It is all practice.." he winked and began to do some dance moves. Some of them might not be the greatest but least he was trying. When he kissed her hand, he looked up and noticed her giggling reaction. Typical girl reaction he expected but it was cute none the less.
He nodded and said, "Well my father is the muggle born. He is more strict than anything but my mother was the witch. I heard a lot about this school from my cousins and checked it out. I guess I was missing out on a lot.." he shrugged and gestured towards this event. He was even missing out on the girls here as well. "This event is very clever. I mean who would associate Tacos on Tuesday in the wizarding world?" I mean he wasn't even sure wizards knew what tacos were. As he was dancing some more and felt the pace change, he saw Juno go into an unexpected dance move. He raised his eyebrows in impressiveness and did she just ask him to salsa? He shook his head and said, "Oh no I don't salsa. I would fail epically..." I mean he could try. "Well I could try but you would have to lead me and don't hold it against me if I step on your toes.." he smirked

Juno flushed a little at his remark. She really hoped the dim lighting hid her scarlet cheeks. Though he attribute it to all the dancing they were doing. She really hoped he did. Colt really was a sweet guy, at least what Juno had seen of him. "Well, thank you for that. I am sure there are many girls missing out on your charms. I mean I've never had a boyfriend or been on a date. Most of the time I feel...invisible to boys." She gave him a sort of sad smile but she wasn't really focused on boys before. It had hit her suddenly. She did notice cute boys but never really flirted with any before now. "Mind if I practice on you?" She gave him a huge grin and wagged her eyebrows before giving a good giggle.
It was like her mind had just realized that he wasn't from the UK and he suddenly had an american accent. "Oh that's right you are from the US aren't you? Why didn't you go to Ilvermorny? I mean I don't blame you one bit for wanting to come to Hogwarts. Were you homeschooled?" She was so interested in his life now. He just gave so many interesting details that she just had to know more. She chuckled at his thoughts about Taco Tuesday. "Of course we know what Tacos and Taco Tuesday are. We aren't completely out of the muggle world. I mean...I don't believe half of the people that say they are Pureblood are actually Pureblood. It just can't be possible anymore..." But then of course it could be...just not necessarily here.
OH, YES! This was going to be fun! An evil little grin crossed her face, and she quickly did a flamenco step and spun toward him, stopping directly in front of him. "Well, let me teach you then." She grinned. "Alright when my right leg goes back, your left leg goes forward, then you step in place with your right foot, I with my left. Then your left leg goes back to the starting position. Then your right leg goes back when my left goes forward, step in place with your left, then right foot back to the start. Like this. Watch me." She did the steps for him, hoping the salsa song would last for a bit longer. "Got it?" She grinned at him hugely. The basic step really wasn't too hard, but once you added extra steps and turns and all that it became pretty complicated.
Then suddenly......

UGH! PEEEEEEVES! "Seriously, Peeves!!" She understood that Miffy and Peeves wanted to get married but it wasn't the students fault that the other Ghosts weren't allowing it to happen.
She turned to look at Colt, luckily she hadn't gotten hit by a taco yet. They were having such a great time and this crazy poltergeist had to start throwing tacos at everyone. She turned to Colt, "What should we do?" She may be a prefect but she wasn't sure she could handle Peeves on her own, and there wasn't a professor close by.

Azura smiled back happily at her boyfriend.. this was perfect! Well almost perfect! Now they needed a waltz or something like that. But still.. ugh.. part of her wished she was older.. but.. she wasn't and so what she had in mind was stupid and needed to wait several years..
*sighs*
"Yeah, next year maybe I'll go for subtle? Romeo and Juliet? What do you think?" She asked him with a grin.
Though her smile got wider as he spoke.. "And I you my Prince. " She said with a warm smile as she took his hand
Looking at her, Chris grinned and took her hand. "Hmm...I suppose we can. A whole year away to decide that though." Not exactly ballroom music here but this would do. Holding her close he started dancing to the music and grinned. This was fun. More fun then he'd had in awhile.
"I do love your dress. You look absolutely stunning in it. My princess." Yup. His and no one else's. He liked the sound of that. "Did you try the food? It's really good."

This was the best, even her Medusa snakes were getting into it!

Az smiled as she squeezed Chris's hand as he led her to the dance floor. "It's true. We do have a whole year to decide that. " And who knew what that year would bring? Auditions were coming up soon..would she even be here next year? She shook her head to clear all unhappy thoughts.. Tonight was for fun and dancing!
She smiled up at him as he spoke "Well thank you my handsome Prince. " She said as she bowed her head a little and kept dancing with him.. it was fun! Even with the conga line moving past them..

Neat, the guy didn't mind joining them for the line. It had officially become one person stronger now. Eventually they might work their way around the room but three people and a ghost seemed enough for now.
Speaking of the ghost, he wanted to lead. "That's....actually a good idea." Blaise admitted, thinking it through for a moment. "And you can part the crowd for us if people are unwilling to make way for the conga line." Kinda like those ice breakers at the fronts of muggle ships that travelled over icy water. This was starting to sound more and more like a great idea--even if the Ravenclaw was right and they wouldn't entirely be able to avoid the Friar...not the person directly behind him anyway.
Blaise was all set the motion the line into being when....Peeves happened. Throwing tacos. Yelling. Being Peeves really.
A taco flew right at the boy's chest. He'd only barely managed a fumble to catch it before looking up to the Poltergeist again. If this was Hogwarts' idea of a food delivery service, it would need work but Blaise wouldn't waste a perfectly good taco. He may not have been as verbal in his gratitude as Char but food was food and the boy bit in.
"Taco conga line then." Might as well.

The two older students had managed to plan the ghost joining the conga line. Jasper was relieved that he didn't need to negotiate with the ghost, based on Peeves and Miffy's reactions to not being allowed to marry...
He didn't want an angry ghost to deal with.
No thanks, please find another student to bother.
A grin crossed his face though, before realising that someone might have to be behind the friar. Dibs not, he thought to himself, though the ghost was very excited. "You really like dancing don't you mate... uh... sir?" the Australian commented, before realising referring to a centuries dead old ghost as mate was probably rude. No angering ghosts, the Ravenclaw reminded himself.
Peeves appearing and throwing tacos was unexpected, especially when all of this planning had already happened. But it proved his point about angering ghosts being a bad idea...
The benefit was now he didn't need to go and grab a taco. Dodging one of them, which narrowly missed his newly silver hair, a caught another one that almost flew passed.
