The building used for the Gobstones matches had its doors closed against the late November chill. Its surfaces magically dusted by Professor Vance and Professor Stewart, the school's Gobstones sponsors and made ready for the term's second preliminary match.

The green and yellow marbles were set out and the playing 'field' had been marked. Chairs were set out on each side of the arena creating a Viewing Area for those not playing to watch.
