I learned from a neighbor and books when I lived with my mother." Her mother never cooked so someone had to.

Oh she forgot about tea leaves, they were fun too. "Palm reading is another good one. I think it's interesting on how you can tell certain things by their life lines and stuff. That's why I think Arthimancy is so interesting. You get to use numbers to see about your past, present, and future." She was always so shocked at how accurate it had always . By far her most favorite subject in school.

Glancing in her cup and then into Kat's she couldn't decided on either of them. "I think you are right. It's a cup or mug. Look them both up, which ever is better pick that one." It was a good idea, pick the one with the best future and use it as the interpretation. Brown eyes glancing down in her own cup again she studied the egg, "Mine looks like a cat or dog. I'm going to look up cat I think." It was bloodish, but she could see a tail and maybe some ears. Yes a cat.

Maybe...

This is cool. Kat might have to add Nat to her list of older friends just for the simple fact of their rhythming names. And she cooked cooked. Like real food. "I've never cooked a whole dinner before." She thought that making a dinner sound like a bunch of work. Cupcakes were a lot of work, but she loved making them.

Kat considered palm reading and lifelines, too. She had read a little about it. "Arthimancy is hard, though. I like it but It confuses me. I Believe it's truer." The numbers jumble up in her head, But the outcomes, about the past and present was pretty closer so the future should be just as accurate, right?

Yep, She was going to go with cup or mug and see which one was better, like Nat suggested. Taking a peek into Nat's cup. Mmmmm. "Yeah. I'd go with cat too" Flipping the pages in her textbook. She looked up first... Seeing a translation for a large up or a small cup.It was a small cup for sure. That meant that a little bit of anxiety was coming. That's all she wanted was more anxiety. What she had right now was enough. Thank you. She flipped the pages to read about the mug translation. A Merry meeting... well that seemed a bit better than anxiety. "What does yours mean?" She looked up from her book, and up at the older girl.

Post 4 and saying Goodbye <3

Juno watched as her egg white formed into what she thought looked like a heart. Huh. So a heart and a guitar. She already knew what the guitar meant, which made her blush again, what did the heart mean. She quickly flipped through her textbook to find the meaning. Once she found it, she smirked a little. Then wrote in her notes the meaning which was:

Quote:

Egg white 1: Guitar - This symbol displays strong power of attraction for the opposite sex, also pleasant adventures ending in a happy love affair.

Egg white 2: Heart - A sign of coming happiness through the affections bringing joy into your life, or satisfaction through money, according to other signs near.
She thought that prediction felt more like her than a possible adventure and love affair. She was only 15 after all. But you never know...it could still happen.

Hearing the professor dismiss the class, Juno quickly cleaned up her mess before packing up. "Thank you, Professor Vance! Have a great day!" She said with a wave while heading towards the door. The predictions were interesting and really got her thinking about all the possibilities.

A few minutes later when she had spoke about the stupid kids at home and that she didn’t wanted to go back there she saw that Harvey looked surprised, why was he surprised? Had he never seen a muggleborn before or was he just surprised to see a muggleborn being sorted in Slytherin? Well, whatever it was, she would show everybody that she was worth it to be a Slytherin and that she was better than everyone at home!

“Yes, I am” spoke Leesha a slowly, thinking back at her parents and the way she always had known that she was different. A life she didn’t wished to live anymore, she was a witch now and far better than everybody at home, well… Beside her parents of course, they were cool for muggles she decided. “How am I supposed to know? I don’t know the difference because I haven’t a idea how you’ve grown up” she now frowned while speaking, she really didn’t knew and to be honest, she didn’t even have thought about it, learning about the magical world was already a lot to take and then she wasn’t even talking about the lessons at Hogwarts! No, she didn’t had thought about how some of the kids here at Hogwarts have grown up with their wizard families.

Listening to his next words she nodded to show that she wasn’t angry or anything like that. “Well… I think that I need to disappoint you, muggles are boring and I can tell you that I’m not intended to go back to that live when I’m old enough to make my own decisions. I like my parents and family but the rest of the muggles around are just stupid and they never really understood me.” Leesha fell silent and didn’t wanted to sound too harsh while speaking about her opinions related to the muggles she had grown up with but she couldn’t help it to look down upon them. They never had accepted her and she never really had accepted them or even liked them! So yeah, there was a reason for her to be sorted into Slytherin.

Harvey looked at the various explanations in the textbook Leesha was flipping through over her shoulder, but he wasn't really taking much of it in.

She was a bit... arrogant, he decided. He could see why she had been sorted into Slytherin, definitely. Not that it made him like her any less - but it also made him realise he definitely didn't want to get on her bad side. Like, ever.

"I don't know, just because someone's different from you doesn't mean they're necessarily worse. Maybe the people you don't like at home just happen to be boring people, and would be equally boring if they were wizards," he suggested, though he decided to change the topic. Leesha sounded very firm. And, after all, she knew her childhood and the people in it better than he did. What did he know?

Leesha's words didn't change his enthusiasm for Muggles and their world, though. He just decided to be a bit... careful with this around her in future.

"I don't know. I think it's easy to get lost in a crowd here, especially if you're shy," he said, addressing her comments about Hogwarts. He hadn't found it that easy, anyway, though he was definitely coming out of his shell now.

"What's your favourite thing about Hogwarts so far?" he asked after a moment's pause.

Post 4 and taking off!

Azura wanted to try one more egg, just to see what it would be. She was slightly curious about all this Divination stuff, not to mention with auditions on the line.. She wanted to see how they would go.

So she took another egg, and carefully cracked it down the middle, she pried it open with her thumbs and then slowly worked the yolk back and forth between the two shells, when the egg white was free from the yolk, she dropped it into the water to see what shape it would make this time..

Huh.. was that a..Chain?

She flipped through her text book and her purple eyes went wide at what she saw.. It looked like just a normal chain so..

"Chain. An engagement or wedding.." She whispered to herself as she blinked.. Ahh.. umm.. right.. She was 13.. Clearly.. the eggs were.. umm..not as good as she might have thought..

Chain??

Az was still a bit dazed as the Professor said it was time to leave and she cleaned up her area and headed out.. "Have a good rest of the day Professor." She said with a blink.. Now her head hurt more than usual.

She hadn't made a full dinner? Nat wasn't surprised she hadn't made one. "I can teach you to make one sometime in the kitchen. I haven't gotten to cook yet, not really anyone here to cook for." She could cook for the band and maybe she would soon, but she missed cooking for Alex, Zay, and Roman. "We could do something small for your friends or something if you'd like." Nat wouldn't mind. She liked cooking and enjoyed teaching them as well.

"Oh I can help you with it. I love numbers. They don't change and they are true to their form." Whatever is going on numbers did not change. Best thing ever!

She waited for Kat to tell her what the meaning was, but when she didn't Nat turned her eyes on her own book. She flipped through the pages wondering if Cat was even in there. Her eyes went back to the cup to see if she had seen it wrong. No, it looks like a cat. Going back to her book she looking again. "Oh... oh..." She really did laugh out loud with this. "Wow is this perfect." Reading it aloud as she wrote it down in her notebook.

Quote:

Cat.—This is an uncomfortable sign of trickery, meanness, and quarrels among relations, money matters probably being the disturbing cause; a cat jumping shows worries and difficulty.

Alyce was already done with her snack when Professor Vance called them to see the demonstration on how to do Ovomancy. She watched the steps carefully because she didn't want to mess up her reading. Hopefully Landon did the same too.

Moving on to the fun part! Yay! The first year grabbed some eggs, hot water and kettle and took it to her table. There. "Hey, wanna partner up?" She turned her attention to Landon.

But poached eggs were soooo gooooood. He liked eggs. Protein and all, you know. He nibbled on his toast, finishing it before he got the chance to get up. "ohhh, yea we can partner up. Sounds like a fun time even." he nodded to her as he helped set out the things she collected between their two stations.

"right so we need to crack the eggs and separate them before placing them in the water?" they could so do this

Hearing Harvey’s words she didn’t really listened because, well… Who was he to talk about liking the Muggle kids at home? He never ever had really met a Muggle, let alone talk to one, she was sure about that so she decided to not listen to him. Making a snoring sound when he was done talking she shook her head, the look on her face already told enough about her thoughts.

Luckily he changed the topic because she was sure that her mood, what already wasn’t that good because of the lesson would darker even more with this conversation. Muggles, bleh! “Then don’t be shy, some people will be nice to you because they think that you need it, but nobody will really expect anything from a shy person BECAUSE he or she is shy.” Leesha closed her textbook, deciding that it wasn’t word her time, it was filled with crap anyway. “Being shy doesn’t help you to get anywhere” continued Leesha, now looking at Harvey with a serious look in her eyes. “I’m never shy, never have been and never will be, I don’t see a reason for anyone to be, not even you.”

Looking suddenly up when the teacher spoke out loud she smiled relieved, the lesson was over! “Finally!” She grinned and even clapped shortly in her hands. “This crap filled lesson is finally over, do you like to go somewhere now that we’re done for today?” She asked while grabbing her things and bringing back the kettle to the place where she had found it. “I know a place here at Hogwarts I’m sure you will like because you’re so interested in Muggles” she spoke now grinning. Yes, she knew the perfect place to go!

Harvey decided he made a good call changing the subject. And he also decided Leesha was going to be a good friend for him. He was far surer of herself than he - perhaps it would rub off on him?

One could always hope.

"You're right, but it's to easy to stop being what you are," he replied to her comment about shyness. "One can always try, though," he shrugged, following her to replace their equipment and smiling at her enthusiasm for the end of the lesson.

"Yes, sure, let's!" he replied to her offer of hanging out, happy at the prospect. He grinned.

That would be nice! And if she was going to tell him more about Muggles... that only made it even better! A friend and satisfied curiosity, what could be a better way to spend time?!

She paused dramatically and let it hang in the air for a moment. "Oh dear. Well I can't tell if its head is raised so it might be a man. Are you going to betray me Owen?" And she poked Owen playfully on the shoulder. Of course, she never really was certain how much she took Divination seriously. That snake didn't bother her...much.

When Owen said his looked like an ear she flipped to the entry for ear. "You are much more fortunate than I," she said. "Ear.—A large ear shows that you will be shocked by hearing of some scandal or abuse; a normal ear means that you will receive some interesting and pleasant piece of news or valuable information." Again she paused dramatically, though not as long as before. 'Does your ear look normal to you? If it's large then it's good news." She cocked her head to look at it sideways.

Wow. It sounded like Kitty was in for a whole lot of unpleasant things. If that reading proved to be in any way accurate. What, him? Betray her? Owen just chuckle good-naturedly and scratched his head as she poked his shoulder. "Nah, I'm a Hufflepuff. I'm a loyal to a fault." Grin. It was true...almost all the time.

As Kitty got a snake, he apparently got an ear. Huh. He listened as she read the meaning for it, nodding. More chuckling. "I think my ear looks pretty normal." Both his own and the one supposedly formed by the egg whites. However he couldn't really be sure. So, some interesting news then. Owen was going to look forward to that. Although the large ear's meaning of being shocked by some sort of scandal was more intriguing.

Then the Professor lady was announcing that they were done for the day. Awww. That went by fast. He began to clean up his station, muttering his thanks to the female Prefect for partnering up with him for this activity. When done, Owen gathered his stuff to leave.

Banishing the contents of her bowl upon hearing that class was dismissed, Paige couldn't help her Hufflepuff curiosity but look up the other possible interpretations of the shapes her egg whites had taken. Finger running down the P section, she smiled at the initial meaning...until getting towards the end of the sentence and then her cheeks resembled ripe peaches.

At least nothing in the symbols had been...bad?

Returning her bowls and kettle, Paige packed up her bag and gave Professor Vane an appreciative smile before making her way out the classroom and back towards her common room.

Natalia smiled at her and would be happy to help her cook. "Just let me know when. I hold band practice on Thursday evenings, but other then that I'm usually free." She needed to get into the kitchen more, it had been awhile since she had fully made anything.

Nat was still staring at her meaning, like how on earth? The money part not so much, but the rest could really hit towards her life at the moment. "It is actually. Kind of creepy how close this is." Hearing about Kat's she looked over, "Is it true?" It was always interesting to see if other's were as accurate as hers seemed to be.

Looking up as the professor spoke she smiled, "I guess that's it. It was nice working with you Kat." She gathered her things and got up pushing in her chair. "Thanks for the lesson professor. Sorry about the egg splatter." She had cleaned up the majority of it, but there might still be some hanging out.
