| | |  DADA Lesson One - The Making
It's the beginning of December and, as usual, you find yourself walking towards the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom. Unlike some previous lessons, this classroom really does look like a classroom, what with the appearance of the desks and the chairs.
Something else that looks different upon your entrance is the figure standing next to your Professor. Some might recognise the YATI Angelo Toussaint, who can be seen talking to Professor Hirsch. Hirsch himself is sporting somewhat of a smile as he leans against his desk, waiting for the students to arrive.
Looking behind the pair, you can see a small sign upon the blackboard:
Quote: Feel free to play around with the clay on your desk while the questions are being asked. Try and mould it into whatever being/creature/object you wish. You may do this alone or in small groups.
Sure enough, if you look back at the desks, which are big enough to seat two people, there are lumps of clay sitting there. Small plastic gloves sit next to the clay for those who don't want to get their hands dirty. Want to carve shapes into your little clay objects? There are plastic dinner knives sitting next to the gloves as well.
So come in, grab a seat and start moulding your clay! Class should begin shortly.

Class has begun but you're more than welcome to jump in. Just pretend as though your charrie has been there the entire time. Hope you have fun! ^^

He'd given a good answer AND had gotten a smile. Those were good signs right there. The fact the Professor no longer looked like he was ready to sign his death warrant told him that even if the man still wanted to meet him after--which he doubted he'd changed his mind, even with that smile--it wouldn't end up so bad. It was enough to have the boy relaxing a little....................until he heard that.
Their wands.
Sigh. And here he'd thought that not casting magic at the Golems meant they wouldn't be needing those. Merlin's beard.
Quite reluctantly, the boy rose from his seat and followed behind the others into the next room. The notes he'd "taken" floated along dutifully behind him, far more intrigued by what lay in the next room than he was.
Magic. The lesson was going so well before, Professor.

Oh so…moving on.
And they apparently wouldn’t be using their golems in whatever activity lay in the other room. Oh well. Cassie would definitely come back because she was curious. Even if she never really had need of the spell to animate her creature or anything else she might make in the future. The third year moved up to her feet as they prepared to leave, stashing her notes in one pocket while her wand rested with quick reach in the other. There! She had everything she supposedly needed. And with that, Cass followed the rest from the classroom.
Here’s to seeing what was there on the other side of things.

Henry had spent much of the class writing notes with one hand while he absent-mindedly rolled the clay on his desk with the other. As talk turned to molding the clay into creatures, the fourth year glanced down at his clay. All the rolling just turned it into a ball. Probably not much of a Golem... though it made him think of turning his clay into that creature from the Lord of the Rings. The name sounded the same, even if he was sure it wasn't the same. But he really couldn't get that thought out of his head.
And so they were moving on to the practical portion of the lesson in another room. Grabbing his notes and wand, Henry got up and followed the rest of the students out the door. He did wonder what they'd be doing next, but he almost always preferred the practical portion.

It wasn't often at all that the hufflepuff got smug, but right now in this moment of answering Katerina was being smug about it. She was super proud of herself, she would totally pat herself on the back later.
Oh no.... They couldn't be running out of time in this lesson. She was having loads for fun in this. But at least it was not over yet. Getting everything together, wand and notebook especially and heading with the others to the other room. What were they going to do that they needed a bigger classroom? Katerina could not wait to find out.

Paige...really should have spoken up...really. But hearing Blaise receive praise and his own feelings of accomplishment spread across his face when the professor praised him, well, it made her own feelings of regret go right out the window. Especially considering how the Gryffindor was with lessons and magic in general.
Still scrambling to finish up her notes, and tucking away her own inquiry about the construction of Hogwarts for later now that her initial thought had been confirmed, Paige got out of her seat and quickly followed the rest of the class.
Oh dear sweet Merlin..............
