THESTRALS! 09-15-2016 06:06 PM

With their friend and mate so close to the human younglings the rest of the herd started to get antsy and nervous.

Trotting out of the forbidden forest and towards the CoMC classroom, their leathery wings were slighty raised against their skeleton bodies.

The milky white eyes were observing as they trotted closer. Soon they were right in the midst of students. One thestral even stopped to puff his head gently against the professor's right arm.

Willingly. "Okay... but I want to fly it, too." Not a question, not a request, just letting them know. No force on earth could prevent her from doing this.......... except the force of professorship. "We can do all the steps together and right before we make it fly, you descend. You'll miss the funnest part, but your choice." See, this was a much better offer.

At least Paige offered to help her get comfortable with one. So Genny nodded vigorously and wiped her bloody hands on her clothes (who got time for cleaning spells?), "So, we stroke Thestrals first? I can't wait to feel them out! Are they near?" She offered her hand to Paige to guide it where the horsie was.

.........................um. She was going to seriously need to reasses that thought.

"Actually...we can't ride on the threstals," she said, taking the Gryffindor's hand and instead slowly pulling her away from the one that they had been feeding. "But an abraxan, aethonan, or granian are all eagerly waiting our arrival." She glanced nervoudly over her shoulder at Hattie and Sam. At least she could pretend that someone was eager about this? Although she was probably the only one out of their quartet wishing she were back in her dormitory right now. But which to choose?

Granian were fast...which was...um...fast flying...um....

Abraxan...HUGE and powerful....more um........

Aethonan it was then!

"How about we all get to know the aethonan over that way?" Paige suggested, trading in her bucket of meat for a sack of carrots and giving one to each of the girls.

Harriet's face had fallen when she'd heard the professors voice. They got to fly the winged horses. It made sense. Winged horses were meant to be flown. But Harriet wasn't allowed to fly. She guessed that flying on a winged horse extended to her mother's no flying rule. And she didn't want to rebel against it. Her mom had put that rule in for a reason, to keep her safe. So she had to follow the rule. It made her sad, because she really wanted to fly on the winged horse.

"Thank you Paige...." The girl murmured, taking a carrot from the older girl. She had been quiet since the Professor had been talking. She was a little sad. "I'm... Not allowed to fly...." She murmured, deciding that she kind of needed Genny and Paige both to know. "But let's go feed them!"

Kitty approached one of the white horses (an Abraxan) and gently started stroking its mane. She locked eyes with him (or her) because she read that locking eyes with a horse was a good way to gain its trust. "You're gorgeous," she whispered admiringly as she continued to stroke.

The only problem was...she was scared of flying. She didn't want to tell the professor right now in front of everyone but as soon as she had a moment she was going to approach and tell him. It was too bad, because deep down riding a flying horse had always been one of Kitty's dreams.

But they had something to do now. Charlotte nodded.

"Okay, lets go with Icarus." Charlotte stepped closer to the Aethonan, confident but calm. "Hello, Icarus. Its nice to meet you." She crooned softly, in the kind of voice that tended to soothe rather than spook creatures. "Aren't you a beautiful handsome boy? Is it alright if we ride you? I think you'd like a chance to stretch your wings, wouldn't you?" She stroked his nose and ears and then added, "Lets see how well trained you are."

A glance at Cassie, she added, "If he's well trained, we can get him to kneel down for us, so that its easier to mount. We just have to stroke between his eyes like this." Charlotte demonstrated, tracing her finger between Icarus's eyes and along his nose. The Aethonan snorted and tossed his head then gave a sleepy looking blink and sure enough knelt down for them.

"There! Want to mount him first? Be careful of his wings." She would keep stroking him.

It was cool.

As was the mention of Charlotte having a brother in her year, also a lion. Perhaps she’d have to remember that in case she ran into him during class and such. For now, her focus returned to the Aethonan…Icarus as her partner agreed to call him. It really did seem rather fitting.

Cassie stepped back from the horse a little to allow the Gryffindor to move in and get him familiar with her as well. The third year watching the older girl stroke Icarus and talk to him in a calm voice he was certainly responding positively to. Her head tilted curiously as the mention of possible training was brought up and Charlotte looked to her explaining. The Ravenclaw in turn nodded in acknowledgement. “Good to know.” Now to see if it worked.

And would you look at that…it did!

She didn’t catch the look of surprise that graced her face before it was too late. Wow! “Good boy, Icarus…” Cassie remarked to the Aethonan with a smile before glancing at Charlotte and her offer. “Sure,” she agreed, nodding at the advice. The third year moved a box over carefully before stepping up on it behind wings. “Hey there, fella,” she said , talking to the horse as she moved, occasionally stroking his side. “The three of us shall have fun.” And with that Cassie had gotten her leg over Icarus’ side, tentatively settling down upon his back.

Woah…this was interesting.

This part had her a bit worried, big Apollo, Small Azura.. but perhaps standing on the stood would make up some height difference. Az pulled herself to her full 4'8" height and nodded.

"Yes, I'm ready." She said with a bit of a nervous smile as she listened to her instructions..

Be careful of the wings, stand on the stool, grab the reigns, put her foot in the stirrup and swing her leg over..

Got it.. Mostly. She watched Nat mount the horse carefully, before she took a deep breath.

"All right, here I go." She said with a small smile as she took a step up on the stool and then, after taking careful note of where the wings were, grabbed onto the reigns, put her left foot in the stirrup and swung herself over and onto the horse!

She had done it!!!!

And whoa.. they were high up!

1. Petting/Stroking
2. Mounting
3. Finding balance and positioning your legs
4. Holding the bridle/rein
5. Signaling them to take off by squeezing them with your legs
6. Pulling of the bridle/rein gently to land
7. Dismounting.

She stood and watched as Azura pet and gave Apollo treats. He was such a beautiful horse she loved to watch him. When it was time for her to try the mounting. Moving closer Nat made sure to be in distance if Azura fell and she needed to catch her or at least try to ease her fall. She knew Apollo would never harm anyone, but it was high and Azura was short. Giving the young girl a huge smile when she made it up alright she moved back to the front of Apollo and pet his head a bit. "Great job. He is still very calm so he trust you."

Moving towards the side of Apollo she touched the reins a bit. "Now make sure you are holding on to these tight. You won't hurt him, but this will be the way you tell him which way you want to go. Not so tight it pulls his head back, because that will stress him out and he won't want you on. You have to remember you are in control the entire time. If confidence lack he will know." Animals were good at reading people.

"Your feet stay in the stirrups where they are positioned to give the wings room. You don't want to get in the way of the wing span or you can get hurt. If you leave them just comfortably bent you'll be fine. Now you are suppose to be finding your balance. I'll get on in a minute but I want to make sure you know how to do this. You will want to sit straight in the saddle. Since you have the saddle this will be much easier. Apollo is a huge horse, so finding his middle and staying there is the best place to keep a balance once the wings start." It could be a little struggle without the saddle, but thankfully they had that today.

Not being able to see the Thestrals she didn't notice when the big group came from the forest.

Merlin she was a nervous as could be.. she was NOT a good flier at all... chances were he'd need to strap her down behind him , else she'd fall off it's rear...

Alright, Miranda seemed to be in agreement with how they should mount the horse and Henry turned back to the Aethonan, stroking his mane. "I wish I knew what your name was though." Someone already had claimed Perseus, the Aethonan that was originally shown. "Maybe Miranda and I will give you one," he added with a grin.

Walking around to the horse's side, he braced his arm on his back, keeping clear of his wings. Then, as he placed a foot in the stirrup, he swung his leg over as he pushed his body up and over to mount him. Adjust his weight and posture so he sat in what he thought was a proper manner, he glanced over to Miranda. "Okay, your turn." He held out his hand in case she needed it for support as she climbed on too.

She nodded as she took a hold of them, making sure to be careful with how she held them, firm, but not to firm.. with confidence... but not too tight.. Az took in all the instruction silently as she held onto the reins before she started to get balanced in her seat.

"All right, I'll keep my knees bent." They were actually pretty comfortable how they were and out of the way of the wings, so that was nice. Azura nodded as she scooted around a little to find her balance. The horse was large, but she was able to find a rather comfortable spot in the middle of him, on the saddle.. She sat up straight and held onto the reins to demonstrate to Nat all that she had just taught her. "Okay, I think I've got it." She said with a grateful smile down at the older girl.

Oh, she liked that. "Gemma! That is a great name for this beauty!" She patted the horse on the neck. They liked that, at least all of her families horses loved it. They especially loved it when you rubbed their noses. So, the younger girl had experience with horses! That was fantastic! It would make things a lot easier for them. "Oh, well that's great! My family has a stable just outside of Paris. I have been around non-magical horses my whole life. So, hopefully we can apply our experience to these horses." Juno grabbed the mounting block, though she didn't really need it. Their horse was already outfitted with a saddle and bridle so they didn't have to worry about getting that on.

Juno stepped up onto the mounting block, placing her left foot in the foothold, then swung her other foot up and over the back of the horse, landing perfectly in the front of the saddle. She made sure to find her balance and positioned her legs properly before letting the younger girl know she could hop on. "I'm all set are you ready to get on?" She asked with a smile. She made sure that she had a good grip on the reins so that the horse didn't start moving before the younger girl got on.

Katerina could have just bust out in excitement, Juno her house prefect knew who she was. Instead Kat beamed. "You can call me Kat.' She nodded and grinned. This was really the best day ever, she was going to get to ride the winged horses, and she was making new friends with her student leaders. The third year really in enjoyed being around the older students a lot. They made her feel special, all of them.

Gemma was a great name, she was super proud of herself of choosing the name. She fed the horse another slice of apple. Kat liked Juno already, they had a lot in common or at least horses in common. Petting the horse on the other side of her neck. "Paris?" Her blue eyes lit up. She had always wanted to go to Paris. She promised herself that one day she would get to go. "Mom rode horses since she was little, I guess I inherited her love for them." They had had horses for as long as she could remember.

The blonde watched as Juno mounted the horse. She could tell just by the way she mounted the horse that she knew what she was doing. She chuckled lightly "I'm ready. I was born ready." With that she put her foot on her foothold ans swung her leg around the body of the horse. Easy peasy. Once she got comfortable she held on to Juno. "Let's fly!" She said with a grin on her face. This was so exciting.

... what????? Genny frowned up at Paige when she let her hand down. "Why not?" Why couldn't they fly Thestrals? They were moving on already?? What the hell?? The Third year let the small group go a few steps ahead of her as she started flapping her arms around trying to touch the invisible creatures, maybe she'd grab one and just do the same steps she'd do on an Abraxan.

Alas, her hands did not meet anything solid and she was forced to follow the small group towards the winged horsie with a straight face and a little bit of disappointment. Aethonan, fine. They were fine. Wait, not even Hattie wants to fly?? Genny was now frowning with raised eyebrows at the two Hufflepuffs. Was this a Hufflepuff thing? "I want to fly." She stated again. Maybe Sam would join her. "So, we just pet it and get to know him, right? Will he be frightened since we're this many?" The answer? They have to try.

Genny accepted the carrot happily and slowly made a few steps towards the chestnut colored horse. "It's very much like a muggle horse. Except for the wings. Hello horsie." She cooed at it and raised her hand in front of it, leaving a proper space. The horse slowly reacted and approached closer, but not taking the carrot in yet. Genny seized the chance to pet it instead.

For those who can ride a mundane one, this might be a little bit easier for you because the basics are pretty much similar." He said as he walked approaching Maxine. "For the beginners, I recommend you to ride using the saddle and bridle, although we can ride them without those two." But still, reins and saddle were the safer option. Don't worry, Jordan already put the saddles and bridle so they didn't need to do that. "Like I have said first, you need to show your respect to the horse. Simply just stroke their mane or gently pet their head, so they could recognize you as the rider. Then gently mount on the horse. I have provided the mounting blocks for you here." He said as he demonstrated the steps: Gently stroked on their mane, then mounted on the back of the horse using the blocks.

"Once you've mounted, you need to find your balance and put your feet at the foothold. Then hold your bridle properly." He showed the students the next steps. He had balanced his seat, put his feet at the foothold, and helt the bridle properly. "And then you're ready to fly. Just gently squeeze your horse with both of your legs to signal your horse to fly. To make them land, just gently pull out bridle." He gently squeezed Maxine with both of his legs and then the horses started taking off from the backyard. Jordan flew with Maxine for about five minutes and then they landed safely by gently pull the bridle.

"Each horses can carry up two two students. First until Third year students should ride the horse with an older students due to safety reason." He announced before dismounting off Maxine. "Now you guys can try to ride them on around here. If you guys have any questions and concerns, just raise your hand and call on me."

OOC: It's the activity time! ^_^ just like what Jordan said, here's simply the steps of riding the horse:

1. Petting/Stroking
2. Mounting
3. Finding balance and positioning your legs
4. Holding the bridle/rein
5. Signaling them to take off by squeezing them with your legs
6. Pulling of the bridle/rein gently to land
7. Dismounting.

Only the abraxans, granians and aethonans are available for the riding. Three posts minimum to gain a full point in this activity. 1st-3rd year students should ride the horse with the older students. And no serious injuries happen, please. Jordan had charmed the backyard area to keep them safe ^____^

any questions/concern? just nudge me on VM/PM/Twitter

and I give you guys 48 hours to do this activity. Have fuuuun!!!! :x3:

P.S: If you guys want to continue the feeding/petting, you can still do that.

Finn was just on his way back from the supplies with some carrots to feed his winged horse when Professor Hernandez was calling for attention and giving instructions. The first year watched everything the man did with rapt attention, not wanting to mess anything up. Fortunately, he had at least ridden regular horses a few times in his life at his uncle's house.

"Um, any older student willing to work with me?" he said, looking around nervously. Finn wouldn't choose to work with himself if he were an older student because little first years are probably lame in their eyes. But he reeeeally wanted to give this a try.

Miranda walked around the winged horse's flank... He really is quite stunning isn't he.... she looked up at Henry as he stroked the beasts mane...
" We could name him something strong and different.... " She said as she stroked the horses side and itched his cheek... " what do you think of Falcor.... I bet he slices through the air .. " Miranda smiled at the thought of their new furry friend flying high and free of the world below..

After a few minutes of introduction to their steed she watched as Henry got up and into his spot upon it's back. Up he swung.. My he was an athletic one.. very strong... Thank goodness she had the sense to ask him to partner up... she watched him get comfortable and then there he was hand outstretched for her... Here goes nothing , yeah?

Randa grabbed his hands and swung up behind him... good loord he was very strong... It was like he picked her clear off the ground and into the seat behind him. Looking for her stirrups as well she realised that she hadn't any.. Oh bloody bushes...really?! She'd have to hold onto him tight if she was to stay on as they flew... " Henry... Is there a charm you could use to glue me to your back?"
Goodness she was nervous... and All her trust she was putting into her good friend Henry....

So even though she was a prefect and an older student, Kitty really had been about to go over and tell Professor Hernandez (when no one else was listening) that she wasn't able to ride a flying horse because she was scared of heights. It probably would have been embarrassing, but this was why she never played Quidditch. Some people were scared of spiders or the dark (not her, she loved them) but she was scared of heights and there was nothing more to it.

But then she saw a first year who didn't have a partner and who wanted one. He looked quite enthusiastic. Kitty's fear of heights was tempered then by her prefect responsibilities. He was a first year and a fellow Ravenclaw who needed a partner. "I'll work with you Finn," said Kitty with a small smile to the boy she recognized as Finn. "Which one is yours?"

Char didn't bother with the step when she mounted in front of Cassie. She settled comfortably and stroked the Aethonan again.

"Hold on!" She told the third year as the winged horse stood up. "Are you comfy?" She asked over her shoulder, catching the reins and holding them loosely but firmly. She preferred flying bareback but this was fine and probably would be more comfy for Cassie.

"There is, but it's a little bit difficult to teach a winged horse to just canter and trot around since winged horse tend to fly more than walk." ...

Letting Genny to be the one to lure the winged horse closer, Paige turned her attention to Hattie and...wasn't too terribly surprised by what she said. Particularly after what she had just gone through - she had overheard enough cases at St. Mungo's of similiar conditions.

"That's alright, Hattie," she smiled, gently resting a hand on her shoulder. "We'll get you to at least pet one." Which seemed to be something easily attainable as Genny's efforts went rewarded and had lured one of the creatures over.

Pocketing her own carrot in her robes for now, Paige too held out her hand for the aethonan and waited until it took noticed, big eyes meeting her own, and then gently rested it on its flank. Stroking its side gently a few times, Paige looked towards Genny and got down on one knee for the Gryffindor to use as a step for getting on. Her own mounting....to be determined.

"I think he'll let you ride him now," she nodded, patting her thigh and nodding the third year over.

"Hold on!" She told the third year as the winged horse stood up. "Are you comfy?" She asked over her shoulder, catching the reins and holding them loosely but firmly. She preferred flying bareback but this was fine and probably would be more comfy for Cassie.

Next thing she knew, Charlotte was in front of her, certainly acting more natural and at ease with the situation than she was. Cassie adjusted herself on the saddle just as the Aethonan moved to straighten up, causing her to quickly do as her partner said and held on. “Woah…” she remarked before settling herself once more, perhaps a bit more balanced and secure. She did have to remind herself that they wouldn’t just be running but flying on the winged horse’s back as she surely didn’t want to fall.

“Uh huh…all good,” she answered the Gryffindor. “Ready when you and Icarus are,” Cass added, letting the older girl take charge. She wasn't afraid, but she was grateful for the assistance.

Henry patted the side of the horse's neck while he thought over Miranda's suggestion. "Falcon's not a bad name. I guess we should see how he flies first." He was sure it would be appropriate, but maybe it was best to get to know him a little bit to see how fitting a name would be.

He helped support her as she climbed on herself, and he took hold of the reigns. "Ready, Miranda? Make sure you hold onto me." He wouldn't want her to fall off, but he was sure she had enough sense to hang on. The fourteen year old glanced behind him as he heard her words. Was she joking? "Well, there is a sticking charm," he said with a chuckle. "But I think you'll be just fine if you put your arms around my waist." Facing forward again, he added, "You might want to squeeze him with your legs when you're ready." Since she was in the back and in a better position to do so.

As usual she was misunderstood... " No, Henry... Not Falcon.... But Falcor... He was a dragon long ago... He was fantastic.... well, according to the book I've read at home".... Maybe it wan't a real story but never the less it was one of her absolute favourites. she'd read it at least 6 times since her mum bought it for her 3 years ago...

" Right.. I'm holdin and squeezin... now what?!" Merlin she was about as terrified as ever and here she was holding onto Henry like he was going to slip between her fingers if she didn't hang on well enough...

Bentley was already quite.....out of it by now. There was a lot of talking and a lot of nothing going on. It wasn't like he wasn't au fait with magical creatures but there was no blood, no yelling..no screaming..just a whole lot of talking. It was a good thing these seats were so comfortable though, he could just take a nap right here while everyone pet and prodded the horses.

"Is he really?" Bentley asked while yawning. The fourth year did shrug however. "Whatever you want to do. Merlin knows I'm about to fall asleep."

"Of course he is." Came the Gryffindor's simple answer. "What else would he be doing with the way this lesson's going?" Clearly they were being encouraged to Gryffindor and clearly this Fourth Year had no problems with that. If his cousin fell asleep he'd miss out on valuable education. Can't have that.

Refreshing enough, the Professor was beginning to give instructions. Blaise sat forward in his seat attentively.

Mount the horse, fly the horse. Seemed simple enough. The boy smacked his cousin lightly on the chest. "Come on, we're not riding with little kids. They can find other older students."

He made his way over to one of the newly revealed horses. It's a good thing none of the creatures had gone wild while waiting to be revealed. That would have been a disaster, one the Professor wouldn't have seen coming--and neither would any of them for that matter. Could have been ugly. "We'll pick this one. Get on." Because obviously he was steering.

"It'd take a lot more to scare such a big animal, don'tcha think?" Matt said matter-of-factly. He believed that 100%. Look at the SIZE OF THOSE THINGS. As if some kid yelling would scare them. Pshhhhhh. "I'm Matt!" He said right after she introduced herself. A Slytherin? Yeah, Matt could work with that.

OH. WAS SHE TESTING HIM?? Muehehehehehe. "No." Matt said, keeping a deadpan face for as long as he could before giving her a cheeky grin. HEHEHE. "I want to ride that Abraxan, if that's alright." The boy said, going towards one of the MASSIVE creatures before waiting for the girl's reply. MAN, LOOK AT THAT! Amaziiinngggg. It was so big Matt could barely reach its head, so he chose to pet the horse's side. Also, he was going nowhere NEAR the rear of the animals because Matt was a Gryffindor but he wasn't that stupid.

"anything will get freaked out of your yelling at it" come on are you for real? "kool, nice to meet you Matt" she was pretty sure shes seen him around getting crazy and stuff.

"really okay well we need to pick one we want to ride.. which you've done, we just need to pet it and give it treats" he could do that right.

"heres the bucket with treats lets go say hi" Moving towards the one Matt picked out she walked slowly and stuck her hand out to slow him down too. "nice and slow yeah?" no freaking out the horses and get them to run away, she wanted to ride them too.

They made it to the horse and Echo held out a hand for it to take the treat, it ate it. "cool" this was fun for her too okay, she started to pet it. "okay come pet. then we can get on it" she smiled this was going rather smooth.

And Lance was jealous.

"Maybe you should take the reins then?" Even if, you know, Lance wanted to do the steering. Carefully stepping up to the horse, he managed to reach out and give a gentle pet or two once it was his turn. Softer than he expected. Good thing with the eating, eh? Except it looked like it just swallowed and was done and his hand was still on it's FACE. WELP. He took his hand back before that could be food too.

"I'm good. You good?"

Cornelius was being trusted with the reins. This guy had a death wish. Cornelius wasn't going to tell him that, of course. No. Instead, he stepped up on the stool and glanced down at his classmate.

"Careful with the wing, okay?" No need to go dying a premature death. As he got on, minding the wings and pulling on anything that was the horse, Cornelius added, "Who you, by the way?"

Names. He always forgot that.

So, he probably should've paid more attention to how the professor actually got onto the winged horse in the first place, but took in careful observation of how his partner did it. Mind the wing, got it. Seemed simple enough.

"Oh, erm, Lancelot," he stepped onto the stool, "Gryffindor. You?" A few teeny minor complications, but he managed to situate himself on the horse without falling off the other side AND minding the wing for the most part. How did everyone else make it look so easy?

...and what did he hold onto during flight?

Interesting name. Cornelius couldn't help himself from asking, "You don't happen to know a Guinevere, do you?" Smirk, smirk. Did he get it? Fitting house, too. "I'm Cornelius Orion Baltazar of Slytherin," he announced, his chest puffing out slightly as his hands went to grip the rein.

There were complications, and not from the winged horse. Cornelius pet it, a bit hesitatingly, while at the same time ready to grip Lancelot's robes in case he went PLOP down the horse. Luckily that didn't happen.

Cornelius was ready to signal the horse when he realized--"You're gonna haf' to hold on to me."

Falcor? "Oh.. okay, cool." Henry smiled at Miranda's explanation, but really he thought it was a rather odd name. He liked Falcon better. But then again, he knew of at least a couple people who thought Chewbacca was a weird name.

Holding onto the reins tightly, he waited till the girl had her arms securely around his waist and had squeezed the horse with her legs. And he waited. Uhh.. shouldn't the horse be flying now? He thought a moment about what he knew about horses. "Um, try nudging him firmly with the heel of your foot too." And he would squeeze a bit with his legs too.. starting now. Hopefully both actions would prompt that horse to get in the air.

Bentley wasn't one to argue, especially when it had something to do with a good time. Flying on the back of winged horses? Heck yeah! Now they were talking.

He followed Blaise to where the horses were and stroked the mane of the one Blaise chose gently. "Good horsey.." Ahhh he seemed to like being stroked. Good choice Blaise, this one didn't seem to mind them.

The fourth year pulled himself up on the horse and positioned himself in a spot comfortable for him and the horse.

"Get on."

Juno grinned at the younger girl. She seemed really happy and sweet. She really loved her new position as Prefect. It really got her out there and getting to know and befriend more people. Juno usually kept to herself, or hung out with her twin Esme, most of the time. It was kind of refreshing to be meeting so many kind people, especially when they were from her her own house! "Kat it is then." She gave the girl a small wink and a smile.

Juno smiled when the younger girls eyes lit up. Paris was amazing. Usually, Juno didn't like throwing around her families wealth. Her father had inherited a lot when his grandparents passed away. He inherited 3 or 4 estates when they passed. But they went to the one in Paris the most because of the stables. "Yeah, it's amazing." She grinned. If she could share the experience of going to e Paris with everyone she would. It is definitely something everyone needed to do at least once in their life. "That's great! Horses are amazing creatures! I just hope we can handle these ones!" She giggled at the thought. But she knew they could handle it!

"Let's do this!" Juno pulled on the reins a little to get the beautiful Gemma to move around into a better position so that they weren't too close to any of the other horses. When she was ready she called out, "Hold on tight!" Then she gently squeezed the horse with her legs. The next thing she knew they were up in the air! The beautiful wings of their horse cut through the air like a knife cuts through butter. She was such a smooth and graceful flier!

Just seeing the castle from this height was amazing, let alone the view of the countryside. You could see everything up here! Juno was really glad she had her hair up in a bun or Kat would be getting a face full of blonde hair! "How you doing back there?" She called out to the younger girl. She knew they couldn't be up for too much longer, but if she could she would stay up here forever!
