It's a chilly Winter morning, but not to worry! Professor Marchand has placed a strong heating charm on the classroom. Hopefully it'll keep the room warm enough that the students won't wish to use bluebell flames!
At the back of the classroom is a table bearing a plate of snowflake-shaped sugar cookies, pots of tea and hot cocoa, and enough paper plates and cups for all the students. Please help yourself to some refreshments while you wait for class to begin! The desks are arranged in two long lines along the left and right walls, while the middle of the room remains empty. Sitting on each desk is an empty plastic bottle. What's it for? Only time will tell...
As you walk in, you'll find Professor Marchand leaning against the wall at the front of the room, eagerly awaiting the arrival of his students.
OOC: Welcome to the first OOC Charms lesson! Please make sure you're familiar with Professor Marchand's class rules and all SS site rules. Class will be starting in about 24 hours CLASS HAS STARTED!.

"Thanks" he said to the hufflepuff.
Biting her lip as she watched the Slytherin, while also crossing her fingers behind her back on his behalf for a little additional luck, the seventh year was relieved to see that he managed the spell and brought a smile to her features. "Well done," she beamed.

Great. He was totally going to get soaked at this rate. Knowing his luck he'd end up charming a bucketful of water rather than a cloud with rain. And he really wasn't good with the Impervious charm....
'Impervius!" he whispered, his eyes closed. Nothing.
Reaching out a hand under the cloud of the girl next to him (who had managed this spell, he saw it!) he felt the water on it immediately. Great.
Unless someone took pity on him, he would just end up being soaked and freezing.
Rolling her shoulders to prepare herself for the next spell, one that admittedly she should have been putting into practice much more than she was at present with all the plants in her dormitory (not to mention her appreciation for rain in general), Paige caught the apprehensive look in the Ravenclaw's eyes standing beside her and gave him a small nudge with her elbow. "Would you like me to?" she offered with a little wiggle of her wand, her voice a soft whisper just in case he was the sort to feel odd about asking for favors.
Her own practice could come later or not at all. She felt confident enough with these particular charms which was saying something.

There had been a part of Brooklyn which had felt like pointing out that the direction to move to the center of the room but also spread out were two concepts that didn’t actually work very well together. It wasn’t like the classroom was that big, after all, and therefore she had merely stood up and moved a fraction away from her desk as they’d been released to practice the spells. Besides, as a natural redhead, it wasn’t as if she’d particularly approved of the sudden influx of sunlight at the demonstration. With the question of if magically created sunlight could cause sunburn just like the real thing floating in her mind, she’d flicked her wrist to release her wand from its holster and merely twirled it a few times in the circular motion of the sunlight spell. Without saying anything at the moment. She was confident enough in her casting ability to believe that she’d be able to cast the charm easily enough.
Even so, she’d quietly said the incantation a few times just to make sure she had it down. “Solis lucidem, solis lucidem, solis lucidem.” Once she figured she had that down, even without physically casting the charm, she’d moved on. Countercurses were always interesting. “Meteolojinx recanto,” she said clearly, if still rather under her breath. Pointing was much too simple to practice, but the incantation took a few more repetitions before she felt like she had that down.
Glancing over, she’d raised an eyebrow as they were moving on to yet another charm. Rain. She’d practically cast a silent Impervius over herself before it had been suggested. While sun was dangerous, rain was just annoying. Being wet when she hadn’t chosen to be. Precautions were always good. Precautions and practice, although she’d recognized the incantation as Spanish fairly easily. She wasn’t unfamiliar with the language, even though she hadn’t really lived in San Diego for a long time now. “Lluvia” was easy to say, and the teardrop wand movement not that different from the circle. She wasn’t too surprised when a small cloud appeared and a light drizzle fell.

Heartbeat still thudding rapidly from her almost mishap, the blonde Gryffindor glanced around wildly at their professor. Had he seen that?! Of course he had.... because in the next moment he was awarding her points for her quick thinking. Liv, who'd been acting out of instinct more than skill, was NOT going to correct him. FIVE POINTS FOR GRYFFINDOR. She'd definitely take them.
Whew.
Okay, all she needed to do was focus. Get her mind right. There was no use in letting almost mistakes and disaster deter her from moving further in the lesson. Especially since Professor Gaston was introducing a THIRD spell. The polar opposite of the first one. And he'd described it as slightly harder. Wonderful. This should be fun, then.
Making sure her things were in order, because Olivia knew the spell Impervius! and had performed it with success in the past, she still opted to dress up in a colorful raincoat and hat. Because they were cute, and she enjoyed fashion, you know? Anyway, COME ON, wand. We need the opposite of a sun, shiny day.
OH! What would help.... She could totally sing and dance in the rain. YES. THEATRE inspired. Come on, magic. She could do this. Let's have a theatre moment. In the rain. Rain, rain, rain, RAIN.
After a few moments of taking herself up, she pointed her wand upward and stated very clearly, "Lluvia."..... Okay, so... it wasn't full on rain, but... the light drizzle was STILL a marginal success, right?
Taking a moment, she twirled beneath the droplets, humming 'I'm siiiinging in the rain.... Ooooh, what a glorious feeeeeeling.'

While the sunshine charm had been rather nice Hady knew they would be moving on. Even if it had meant they would be moving on to rain. She wasn't all to keen on getting herself all that wet right now, so a quiet "Impervius" was cast not only on herself but on all her things as well. Best to be safe then sorry later. Even if she could easily fix most problems with magic it was always nice to try to avoid a problem whenever possible.
Being sure of her charm skills Hady didn't feel it was necessary to put on the rain clothing though. Flexing her fingers around her wand the movement of a simple raindrop was preformed. Possibly more then once just for good measure. The incantation was also being mumbled quietly under her breath as she readied herself to give it a go.
"Lluvia," she spoke clearly forming the teardrop shape with her wand. A small cloud began to form overhead taking on a grayness and light droplets of water fell down upon her. It was cold. Much colder then she would've liked to be inside but it was alright no big deal. In just a few short moments she cast the counter charm to make the rain stop falling. Her eyes scanned the area around her to see if anyone might be having trouble with any of the charms at all.

Gaston stood beside his desk, watching his students practice. For the most part, they seemed to be picking up on the spell very quickly... much more so than he'd expected. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Mr. Jarvis struggling to perform the Impervius Charm. He raised his wand to help him, but Miss Skeeter offered to help him first; he gave the girl a very appreciative smile Then he saw Miss Phillips humming and twirling under the light rain shower she'd produced, and he chuckled a little. Now there was a lively one!
The Frenchman glanced at his watch. Merlin's beard! Was that the time?! He'd completely lost track, and now they were running a bit behind. He cleared his throat to get the class's attention before addressing them, "Excellent work, everyone! But now it's time to move on to today's activity..." He paused to give the students time to find a stopping place in their charmwork before he went on, "Earlier Miss Snow mentioned the Weasley weather product line..." He cast a sidelong glance toward the girl. "Well, today we'll be creating a modified version of the Weather in a Bottle." Hence the plastic bottles on all the desks.
He pulled a bottle from the box of spares on his desk and unscrewed the cap. "Now this is a little different than just casting a weather charm into the air," he explained. "Once you've uncapped your bottle, you'll need to hold it with one hand, aim your wand into the opening and cast your spell.Be sure the top of the bottle is pointed away from you; we don't want any accidents! You may use either the sunlight or rain charm, but NOT BOTH! Two opposite spells cast into the same bottle could be catastrophic!" He waited a momet for the warning to sink in. Understood? Okay good, moving on...
He pointed his wand at the bottle in his other hand and cast a nonverbal sunlight charm. A beam of light shot into the bottle and he quickly capped it tight. "Once you've done that, screw the cap back on the bottle as tightly as you can - you'll have to do this fast otherwise the magic can escape. It may take you a few tries to get it right." Was there anything else they needed to know before he left them to it? "I've charmed these bottles to be shatterproof, but just in case, I have several spares on my desk..." He inclined his head toward the box next to him. "You may work alone or partner up, your choice. If you should finish early and want to try the other spell too, you may do so. You have the rest of the class to finish, starting... NOW!"
OOC: You have approximately 48 HOURS to do this activity. There is no post count requirement, use as many or as few as you need to complete the activity. Gaston and I will be popping back in from time to time, so if you have questions, feel free to ask us!

”thanks” she said to Oliver as he passed her two cookies, she could have totally eaten more but she wasn’t going to hound the kid for more, she didn’t mean to scare him so much ”sorry Oli” omm nomm nomm.
She was glad that she was going to be putting these spells into bottles because A. she didn’t want to be in this classroom with people shooting these spells everywhere, would have been crazy, and that was about the only reason.
Now which one should she do…. It would make sense for her to do the sun charm because sometimes it was pretty dark to walk down to their common room. ”I think im going to do the sun one” she told herself.
Picking up one of the bottles Echo judge the distance between the wand and the bottle opening, wondering how far they should actually be.
Well the worst thing that can happen is her shooting sun across the room, better make sure that no one was standing in that direction. Echo positioned her self and let out a deep breath.
”Solis Lucidem” she said as the light came a lot faster than she thought and the rays ended up hitting the wall. ”oopppss” she giggled and said ”Meteolojinx Recanto” to stop the rays. ”okay a little improvement on the positioning but I think I can get it” nothing better than having a good ole’ chat with yourself right.

A modified version of the weather in a bottle.
Alright Hady's attention was caught. She was curious and turned her eyes onto Professor Marchand. They would be casting one of the weather charms inside the bottle. That was pretty cool. Either sunshine or rain. Choices, choices. If she got it to work quickly enough she might have time to make both or well she could always get herself another bottle later on and make another one when she had the time.
"Professor, how long will the charm last inside the bottle?" Would it eventually just wear off like most charms did and it would be an empty bottle again. "What would happen if say you cast the rain charm into the bottle and then the bottle was to break, would you end up inside a storm or would the charm somehow cancel out?" All just curious questions really. No need to worry at all she wouldn't intentionally break the bottle just to see what happened. This was why she was ASKING.
The bottle was picked up off her desk and the cap twisted off. She held it firmly angling it away from herself and pointed her wand at the opening. "Lluvia," Hady cast as strongly as she could, the charm hitting the edge of the rim on the bottle and then the floor splashing Hady with rainwater. Getting splashed surprised her causing her to laugh and grip the bottle in her hands to keep from dropping it. "Alright..my aim was a tad off there..." Shake it off Hades, no harm done.

He gave the class a moment or two to stop what they were doing before continuing, "Now then, the other weather charm we're doing today produces the opposite effect of the first, namely a rain charm. For the purposes of practicing, everything in this room, except yourselves and anything you brought in with you, has been charmed to resist water. For those of you who wish to cast the same spell on yourselves or your belongings, the incantation is Impervius. Older students, please help your classmates with this if needed. For the rest of you..." With a flick of his wand, rain coats and hats appeared at each desk.
The Frenchman paused to give his students time to cast their Impervius charms and/or put on their rain gear. "This spell is a bit more difficult than the other one, but not exceedingly so," he said. "The incantation is Lluvia, pronounced Yoo-vee-uh." He aimed his wand toward the ceiling over his own desk so the students wouldn't be caught unprepared in the downpour, tracing a teardrop shape as he repeated the spell. A dark cloud appeared, pouring rain over Gaston's desk until he waved his wand again, and it vanished. "I'll give you a few minutes to practice this spell before we move on to today's activity. Go to it!"
OOC: We'll be moving on again in 20-24 HOURS. Happy practicing!
Oliver loved rain, and because he was kind of dramatic, he was happy to learn this charm so he could produce a rain cloud over him whenever he was in a bad mood because of his parents or sister. This was going to be great. And just so he could practice another charm, he decided he would do the one that would keep him from getting wet, which would also come in handy later on in his life. He poited his wand at himself and said, "Impervius" and just kind of hoped he'd done it right since there was no other way to test it then to do the lluvia charm.
Now that he was ready to go, he went over his notes again to make sure he had the pronunciation written down correctly. Once he was sure, he raised his wand above his head, closed his eyes, and said, "Lluvia!". Oliver waited to feel the impact of the water hitting him but it never came. Figuring he was safe enough, he opened his eyes and beamed at the sight of rain drops falling from a dark cloud above him. Success! He was so ready to start using both of the charms he'd learned today all over the school.
And nooow he was going to get to put weather in a bottle, which was really so much cooler. He never really knew what the point in it was since he could just...do the charm himself, but whatever. This was the activity and he was going to do it and he was going to enjoy it.
Oliver picked up the bottle on his desk and uncapped it. Making sure to hold the top away from him, he glanced at his notes and decided Lluvia would be better to have in a bottle than the sunshine charm. Then he pointed his wand at the top, which felt kind of weird, honestly. "Lluvia!" He watched as a little cloud formed into the bottle, and then he pulled his wand out but accidentally dropped it along with the bottle and watched his little rain storm flow out of the bottle. Oops. Maybe this bit was going to be a little harder than he expected.
It was somewhat concerning to Henry that Professor Marchand kept mentioning about accidents and catastrophes happening if they did this or that, because what if something happened and there was a catastrophic accident? He was, at the very least, curious about what might happen. And really, what kept coming to mind was the accident that Paige had in Transfiguration when her skin looked like melted plastic. It was really hard to get that image out of his mind.
But he would make the effort as he hadn't had too much trouble yet with the spells, and he also kind of wanted to have some weather in a bottle. Of course, it had taken him several tries to cast them properly, but that was normally the way with new spells. It took him several attempts at least, depending on the skill level, before he could cast it with any efficacy.
But which spell to cast inside the bottle? Henry could think of reasons to have both the sun and to have rain at his fingertips when he needed them, so deciding was kind of hard. Oh.. he heard the professor say that if they finished early that they could try the other one as well, so hopefully he could get the first one done quickly and correctly so he had time for the other.
Deciding on casting the sunny weather into his bottle first, Henry grabbed the bottle from his desk and started twisting off the cap. Now.. holding the opening away from him but yet also at an angle that he could put his wand into it seemed a little tricky. Plus he'd have to get that cap back on quickly so the magic didn't escape... hmm.

He really hoped he'd have time to try the rain spell too before they finished with this exercise. He'd just have to make sure he'd master that spell quicker...

Hey! Shouldn't she get points for you know.. predicting the lesson? She had done it twice now. First in DADA and now here. Ahh well. Azura bit her lip as she heard what they were doing and she was going to try to non verbal again!
She had almost managed it with the sunshine spell so that was what she was going to put in her bottle.. Also sunshine in a bottle? How cool was that! And then she could put it in her pocket,,
For a pocketful of sunshine..
She giggled a little as she moved towards the teachers desk and grabbed a bottle.. she took off the cap and held it in her hand as she took her wand and aimed at the bottle.. she made the appropriate wand gesture before closing her eyes and thinking.,
Solis lucidem!
She opened her eyes as gasped softly as she saw the spell go straight into the bottle! She was so stunned.. that she just watched as the Magic escaped.
Okay, Oliver was going to get this right. He was sure of it. He picked up his wand and waved it in the air to stop the cloud that got away and then picked up the bottle. Then he practised holding the bottle, pretended to do the spell, and worked on setting the wand down quickly and putting the top on the bottle. He did this three more times, just for good measure, and then decided he was ready to do it right. He would succeed!
"Okay, Oliver Finch, you got this." Now, he knew it wasn't that serious, but Charms was one of the few things he was good at and messing this up a second time would only annoy him.
Holding the bottle and making sure the top was pointing away from him, Ollie pointed his wand at the top and concentrated. "Lluvia!" Then he quickly set his wand down, grabbed the top, and twisted it tightly onto the bottle. He stared at the bottle for about a minute and once he was positive the top wasn't going the blow off, he beamed to himself. All done!
Snow Miser | Munchy | Molly Hooper | T | Hey, you | Phantom | Mrs. Chris Evans | Brat Pack | Tristalen
Azura blinked as all the magic escaped her bottle and she groaned softly! Here she had been so excited that she managed to do a piece of non verbal magic, she had forgotten to cap the bottle!
C'mon Azura, get your head in the game. She mentally scolded herself as she took a deep breath and closed her eyes, concentrating on the spell! She made the wand movement, opened her eyes and aimed at the bottle.
Solis lucidem! She thought and once again the spell shot into the bottle!
Yesssss!
Eeekkk! Azura fumbled a bit with the cap but managed to screw it on tightly. She grinned happily as she looked at the bottle, everything seemed to be in order and the bottle was staying put!
Now.. all she needed to do was put it in her pocket!
Got that sunshine in my pocket! She thought to herself with a grin.

Gaston kept a close eye on his class as they went about their activity. SO far, so good... there had been a few minor mishaps but nothing that required his intervention. No students getting hit with spells, no giant sunbeams or rainclouds taking over the classroom, no spells combining or counteracting each other. A voice suddenly jerked the professor out of his thoughts, and his eyes darted in the direction of the sound... to the Head Girl. "Very good questions, Miss Lynch!" he said. "Spells trapped in a confined space last much longer than those cast out in the open, so the charms will last as long as they remain in the bottle. If the bottle were to be opened or - Merlin forbid - break, the spell would be released, so yes, in that case you would wind up caught inside a storm."
After several more minutes, Gaston checked his watch again. It was almost time for class to end! "Alright, class! You have fifteen minutes left to finish!"
OOC: You still have ABOUT 15 HOURS to complete this activity!

Her aim had been off. Hady had been sprayed with water from her own spell bouncing off the edge of the bottle, hitting the floor and then her. So far this wasn't going as planned but it was alright. She wasn't used to aiming a cast charm into the small opening of a bottle which she was holding in her other hand. It was awkward.
The professors voice drew her attention as he replied to her question. The fact that the charm would last inside the bottle until it was let loose. Which she had no intention on letting happen. "I'd rather not get caught up in an unexpected storm."
It was time to give it another try. She wanted to have a storm inside a bottle. Keeping the bottle aimed away from herself she pointed her wand at the opening. "Lluvia," Hady cast once more this time the charm making it right into the bottle. As quickly as she could she set the cap back on it and twisted it as tightly. She would not be getting herself hit with any spells even if it were just rain.
Lowering her wand to her side she lifted the bottle to eye level. Inside was a dark storm cloud and rain falling. Honestly it was pretty wicked to watch.

Paige wasn't going to lie, she was a tiny bit nervous about bottling up these charms in a bottle given how chaotic her experience with the Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes had gone in the past...but at least this way she could control the intent of the particular spell and, perhaps, contain nothing more than a small spring shower rather than a raging thunderstorm? Although bottling sunshine had it's appeal for hopeless romantic reasons and pure sap. Hmmm...

Pondering this, tapping her lips with her wand, she turned her attention back to the Ravenclaw and offered him a small smile. "Putting that sort of pressure on yourself doesn't help to start," she said with a small smile as she flourished her wand and performed the Impervius Charm on him. "So taking some of the pressure off yourself, not thinking in terms of should but rather reminding yourself of your potential helps..." She was rambling a bit here, but also thinking aloud about her own struggles with spellwork. "I struggle with Transfiguration spells, particularly those involving conjuration, so I really have to buckle down and focus on the visualization aspect of spell casting, but even then not always successful." Sometimes magic just...resonated with you differently than other branches and it wasn't an indication of anything being wrong with you. "Try visualizing yourself performing a spell successfully before casting. It can help, even if not right away."
SPOILER!!: professor again!

Sunshine. Paige was going to go with the option of bottling up sunshine. It reminded her a bit of old pictures she had seen of her step father bottling up fireflies and keeping them in a jar for their gentle glow. Seemed the sort of thing that would make for a nice decoration for her and Eureka's dorm room.
Clutching her bottle, Paige pulled her chair out and away from her desk towards the open area of the classroom and took a seat. Rolling her shoulders and making sure she had a desirable about of room, she tucked the bottle between her legs and held it firmly in place. Unscrewing the cap, Paige held it in her left hand while flexing her fingers around her wand. Repeating the incantation to herself, Paige went through the motions a few times - performing the wand movement and capping the bottle as quickly as possible - the seventh year felt she had the timing down well enough to give it a go.
"Solis lucidem," she said clearly, her wand pointed confidently into the jar. Counting three hippogriffs silently in her head, about the time that it took for the charm to pour itself out of her wand, Paige quickly switched out the tip of her wand for the cap and successfully trapped her enchanted sunshine in the bottle.
Glancing up, Paige tried to catch the professor's attention with a bit of well timed eye contact. "Professor? How do our creations today differ from products like those found in Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes'....Weasleys' Wet Weather and Sunny Spells, for example? Are our bottled charms a more purer form of magic?" Considering that Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes' were known joke products- powerful enchantments to be sure, but still joke products.

Professor Gaston was right: Within seconds of his explanation her cloud began raining. Not exactly a downpour, but still a steady trickle of water droplets that you could definitely till was rain. Kitty put her hands underneath the water droplets to feel them. They felt cool and refreshing to the touch; Kitty was glad she was wearing a raincoat instead of a spell.
Okay, moving on to the bottles! Now she knew what they were there for. Picking up the bottle in her desk, she twirled it around in her hand and tried to decide what spell she would use. At first she was planning the sunlight spell, but after awhile decided that having bottled water might be cooler. Maybe she could drink it (after purifying it of course) after class.
Holding her bottle like the professor had described with one hand and pointing her wand into the hole, Kitty muttered in a clear and distinct voice, "Lluvia!"
The angle thing was weird and Henry wasn't quite sure he got it right. The opening of the bottle had to be pointed away from him, pointed away from anyone else, yet still be accessible for him to point his wand inside. Maybe he was overthinking it, but it felt it to be a little awkward as he tried to hold it and he glanced around at those closest to him.
Most people seemed to be having an alright time with it so he just decided to go for it. Henry decided on the sun spell first, figuring with the cold weather, he might reach for that one before the rain, which would be pretty awesome in warmer weather.
"Solis Lucidem!" He cast the spell and tried to grab the cap and twist in back on in time. He wasn't quite quick enough because it started seeping out just as he started to match the cap with the opening, soon pouring all the way out. And then there it was, all sunny in front of him. That was kind of a fail. Pointing his wand again, he commanded, "Meteolojinx Recanto!" Trying again.
Maybe he needed to try to hold the bottle and cap in one hand, since his wand was in the other, rather than try to pick up the cap from his desk after he cast the spell. Even though that would make holding the bottle even more awkward, Henry thought that might work. Shifting things around a bit, the fourth year cast Solis Lucidem into the bottle again, this time trying to make sure he was a little quicker with capping the bottle.
Yes! Sunshine in a bottle, woohoo! Victory fist pump! And now for a little rain. Oh, just fifteen minutes? Yeah, he'd better hurry.

Miranda's attention was againcaught by Professor Marchand... So far his class was going brilliantly... It was by far rthe best lesson she'd had all term.. these weather charm were super cool and really interesting... He explained to them the next thing they'd be doing..... Making weather bottles?!... ' Coolnes!' she thought.. It would be pretty cool if they could keep there bottles as a keepsake of the lesson today.. She wanted to be able to show her mother what she had learned...
So, after having been instructed on what to do in order to capture the spell properly she picked up the bottle that had been provided and looked at the bitty opening she was meant to cast her incantation into.... She wondered how in Merlin's beard she was supposed to do it... I mean goodness... the hole was the size of the mouth of a soda bottle.. Not very big at all. Randa could tell that this task wasn't gonna be as easy as she had hoped it..
Picking up the bottle and pointing her wand at the opening and yet trying to face the bottle away from her at the same time she cast her first attempt, " Solaris Lucidem! "....
" Aah!... " ... CRAP! The charm bounced off the outside rim of her bottle and radiated across a five foot patch of the classroom.. Spots forming in her eys she tried blinking them away.... It took several minutes for her to be able to see properly again..... She had expected to not bottle her charm up the first go... The blindness... Not planned or accounted for at all...
She thought for a second and then had the most fabulous of ideas.... she reached into her bag and found a pair of sunglasses she had stashed for when she'd go down to the lake... Slid them on and smiled... No more castophric temperary blindness for Miss. Blaze... Nope...

Nope, Natalia didn't just start daydreaming and miss most of what was going on. She looked up at the rain still falling on her and pointed her wand getting rid of it. They were going to get a bottle and put the charm in it. That was an interesting thought and Nat couldn't help but like the idea of having a bottle of sun. Getting up she got her bottle and went back to her seat. Sitting back down she looked at the bottle thinking about the charm.
Holding it with one hand and then pointing her wand, "Solis Lucidem" The charm went slightly right and she now had a sun on the floor. Pointing her wand at the sun, "Meteolojinx Recanto" The sun left and Nat looked at the bottle. Calculations started forming in her head on the best way to angle the bottle and how to hold her wand so that it hits the correct way.

Whoah did the Prof just say they will trap their weather spells in a bottle?
Well he always wanted to try out the ol lighting in the bottle trick, but that would actually mean he'd have to do what the Charms man said they shouldnt do. Well... maybe not today?
Since he had no interest in trapping a rain cloud in chilly ol Scotland-- since theres too much of that as it is-- the Gryffindor Ace concentrated on getting sunlight into the bottle. He practiced a few more times in the air, waving his wand in a circle like so "Solis Lucidum! Solis Lucidum!" he wants to get his sunshine to last longer see?
And then.... it looked like it was actually staying in the air and not fading too quickly like his earlier attempts. So much so that he had to use the counterspell now "Meteolojinx Recanto". And poof his sun is gone.
Oh oh he is so ready now. He pointed his wand into the bottle, swirled it in a circle and cast the spell "Solis Lucidum!". It was almost blinding when the sunlight shone through the empty bottle. Seal it seal it SEAL IT!
And there he has it, sunshine in a bottle. He was so proud, he started to sing to it from an old folk song or something "Good-day sunlight, I'd like to say how truly bright you are, You don't know me but I know you, You're my favorite star..."
Yeah thats what crazy is, when its broken you say theres nothing to fix++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++And you pray that everything will be okay, while you're making all the same mistakes
Her aim was a little off. No sooner had she spoken the word "Lluvia!" that a small puddle of water splashed against the sides of the bottle and dripped down into the desk and over her lap. "GAA!!" she exclaimed, dropping her wand. Good thing her raincoat came down to her knees.
It wasn't too embarrassing because nearby Hady had done something similar with hers. The problem, Kitty thought to herself, was that her wand wasn't as close to the bottle entrance as it should have been and her hand had shaken just a little when she uttered the spell. She took a pause to watch as Hady successfully performed the spell and then went on to the next one.
Kitty retrieved her wand from the floor and tried again. This time she was going to make certain she wouldn't miss. Instead of simply pointing it at the bottle entrance she would actually put the wand into the bottle - just a little, and then cast the spell.
"Lluvia!" she hissed, pulling her wand back out as soon as the spell left her lips. Based on how the bottle had suddenly heavier and the cackling sound coming within - she knew it worked, but she had to move quickly to seal the bottle. A few drops spilled out but then the bottle was sealed shut.
"Wicked!" The Goth beamed at her little storm in a bottle.
Tenacius started singing then, distracting her from her lovely little storm. "Did you invent that song? It sounds familiar."

Okay now that she felt like she knew what she was doing and how to hold her bottle she changed the angle a little bit, but the bottle slipped from her hand and hit the ground. "Thank goodness for charms." It hadn't broke, but it if it would have she could have just put it back together real quick. Reangling it with one hand she held up her wand and put it into the bottle.
She wasn't going to miss this time.
"Solis Lucidum!" The charm went directly into the bottle and the sun started to shine. She capped it so it wouldn't release and lifted it to look in. The rays were everywhere and it was so pretty. Natalia just sat quietly staring at it. She loved the sun and this was just a great thing to have on her bad days. She could just look at it instead of the gloomy weather outside.

Okay, so..... Olivia was still dancing around beneath her light drizzle, just minding her own business really. She'd heard that they were moving on in the lesson, tackling an activity concerning Weather in a Bottle.... BUT she just wasn't ready to reign it in and refocus. Not yet, anyway
Just a few more moments or mindless frolicking...
Okay.
NOW, she was ready!
Dispelling her rain with the counter jinx, Liv zeroed back in on Professor Gaston. So, they were to be doing what... exactly? From what she was understanding, they were just going to be making the weather bottles? Like actually activating them in a way? Kinda like with certain potions when you had to wait until the last moment to add that final ingredient to make it all work. LIKE POLYJUICE and people hair.
Hmm.
Moving towards the desk to collect a few of the bottles, the Gryffindor blonde sat herself down right on the rain soaked floor. Most of the working magic in the room had dissipated, but that obviously meant nothing for the water it had left behind. Not that Liv minded too much. She was still sporting her very fashionable rain coat and hat, courtesy of their kind professor. Kudos to YOU, Gaston.
Okay. So... Uncap the bottle, hold it with one hand, point the wand tip into the mouth, perform the spell, and then seal it back up immediately..... All the steps IN THAT ORDER. Could she do it? Well, obviously, Olivia believed in herself. So, even if it was a struggle at first, best believe all the effort would be made. WAS SHE READY?! Why, yes. NOW OR NEVER!
Carefully unscrewing the cap off of one of the small bottles, she balanced it in the palm of her hand, which was actually much easier said than done. Seriously. It was flipping hard, because her hand was shaking slightly. Focus, focus, FOCUS.... She thought she might one of each, because why not?
As for this one, though... "Solis Lucidem!"....... WHICH DID NOT WORK AT FIRST. LKSJDFKLJ, why could she NOT perform these blasted spells on the first go?! WHY NOT, I ASK YOU?! WHY?!
In fact, no success was achieved until about the fifth try... in which a shining beacon of light burst forth from her wand, aimed carefully into the awaiting bottle. Which, in retrospect, was the easy part, because... getting that small cap back onto the bottle's top in the short amount of time before the spell escaped... was actually a NIGHTMARE. Easier said than done, ONCE AGAIN.
Additionally, it took three attempts for her to actually get the lid back on the bottle in time. And with each failure, the magic escaped in a near explosion of color and light; threatening to run amuck in the small classroom. Luckily, it was just sunlight, and not rain, which was less stressful, if that made sense.
... But in her failures, she'd gotten more comfortable in things, and when it came to actually performing the second weather charm, her success came much more quickly. Uncapped bottle awaiting, the Gryffindor poised her wand, taking deep breaths and narrowing her eyes. It actually helped her to get a little sassy and mad at it. "Lluvia!"

Sunglasses on and hopefully ready to try this whole capture the weather in a little bottle through a tiny flippin' hole thing again... Of course doing her mental preparations making sure she wouldn't mess up the incantation.
Makinf sure she had the bottle's opening was facing away from her again she pointed her wand. Taaking a hopeful breath she said the words that would .. with any luck make her a little bottle of sunshine..
" Solaris Lucidem..."
Without realising it she had closed her eyes.. More than likely the memory of instant tempoary blindness had forced the instinct, she couldn't be sure... But when she opened her eyes she had just in time to see her little sunball escape it's container...
" Son of Merlin's monkey!" , she exclaimed in frustration...
She was starting to get slightly frustrated with trying to put her chosen weather into the flea flicking' bottle... and one thing Randa didn't have alot of was patience...
