Mention of Blaise

She had done the Life path a few times and new the number and meaning well. She hadn't written down the core at first, because she knew what it said and she didn't believe it. Her eyes looking at it once more she really wasn't about to finally say that it was now that she lived here and stuff. Nope it just didn't make sense.

SPOILER!!: notes

SIX (6): Your path will lead you to live responsibly at home and work to achieve balance between giving and receiving. This path is one of aid and service, and once you've learned this lesson, you'll move on to the next phase - achieving balance between giving and receiving. You're a born counselor - sympathetic and caring - which makes others seek you out for advice. Career/vocation options include any job in the service industry where you can make life more comfortable, easy, and luxurious for others, including medicine, decorating, beauty products, training animals, teaching, and counseling.

Giving and reveiving and she should be a born counselor. She had spent so much time in a healers office and this was trying to tell her she should be one. Her eyes moved around the class as she was just seeing what else was going on.

"Having trouble Blaise?" She had seen him look up and he had asked a question. Maybe Nat could help him if he needed it.

Rafael began walking around the desks to check on the students work because really, nothing was more annoying than messing up arithmetic. He would lean over simply going around and glance at the papers and watch how far along the students had gotten before moving to the next desk. It was after all something he had liked that his own Professors had done, taken the extra time and care to really help when it was needed and to say good job or you’ll get it next time when it was needed. Everything seemed alright and the students were simply helping people when they asked for help…that was great, especially considering it was a newer topic? The addition of the vibrational numbers…and no that little snort of a noise he made every time he said vibrational wasn’t because of the fact that he was as immature as a teenager….okay he was more mature but vibrational numbers was a hilarious thing to say especially to hormonal teenagers.

”Alright, so while you are all looking up your vibrational…” snigger ”numbers please keep in mind that life-path and vibrational numbers are only a small part of arithmancy” he paused and looked around at everyone, ”don’t feel bad if your life-path number doesn’t feel like it fits right now, everyone evolves and changes and its my personal belief that these numbers as well as the numbers and readings garnered when calculating the other core numbers change throughout our lives. I also believe that like many forms of divination that this is up to how you read it.” he grinned at everyone.

”Now I want you to group up with the people that share your core and vibrational numbers.” he spoke with a small smile, ”now if you don’t share a number with anyone else in the class please join in with any of the other groups, as we simply are going to be discussing how you feel about your life-path and vibrational numbers and how they fit or do not seem to fit you” yep this wasn’t that hard now was it? Not hard at all.

OOC: Hey everyone you have about 24 hours until i move the class along again - sorry I didn't post earlier my internet went out :(

update: i'm extending the class an extra 12 hours so we will be closing the class at 11:59pm EST on the 14th

Team Jupiter (5-ers)

Jace read and re-read his Life Path and Vibrational Number, taking into account the path that he is currently on. That was when he realized that he has no plans whatsoever for his future. All that mattered to him now was his upcoming grading in Japan, and everything else was pretty much disregarded. The Ravenclaw took a moment to internalize his realization, and decided that he must start looking at his options for the future. Surely, third year isn't too early for that, is it?

Jace snapped out of his thought when the professor spoke...and sounded like he choked on something. A hint of confusion graced the thirteen year old's face, wondering what in Merlin's underpants was funny?

The Ravenclaw then did an inward, but silent groan when they were asked to be grouped according to their Life Path and Vibrational number. Was it...really necessary? Not wanting to disrespect the professor in any way, Jace took a peek at Azura's work-- and was quite bummed to see that she's a 4-- and then turned to face the rest of the class. "Erm...anyone else who got a 5?" Jupiter people, yeah?

MunchyBubbles 10-13-2016 04:31 AM

Sailor Mercury.. errr 4!

And now they had to get into grounds and discuss their numbers? She sighed softly as she stole a glance at Jace's work to see that he had gotten a five!

Rats! So so close! Well if she couldn't find any other fours she was going to sit with her best friend.

"Anyone else a four?" She asked as she looked around the room.

Steelsheen 10-13-2016 04:49 AM

Sailor Venus yo! xD || 6'ers assemble!

Oh they gonna be grouping up? Cool, the Curly Top was curious who else shared his numbers and his vibes. "Venusian Sixers over here!" he called out, waving his arms about.

She wasn't too far from him so he got up to see if she wouldn't mind his help.

"Hey.. mind if I look?" He glanced at her parchment, looking over her calculations. "Okay.. you want to make sure you reduce all your numbers to a single digit, even at first." He pointed to her birth year. "See how you just used the two, the zero, and each seven in your year? You should do that with the twelve of your date, and just use one plus two instead of twelve." He could write it out for her if it would make more sense that way, but they were her notes and he didn't want to just assume that he could. Quickly, he added up the numbers in his head. "You still get five, so yeah! You have the right answer," he said with a cheerful smile. "But I don't know if it would always work that way if you didn't reduce all the numbers first. It's really important, especially for Master Numbers and Karmic Numbers."

Oh, a Puffer had heard her call of distress! A Henry shaped one. Hello, Henry!

.... And it wasn't that this particular boy was boring or that Liv was being rude or a poop, but numbers talk. The numbers talk. Let us repeat.... The numbers talk. Ugh, she was NOT a fan. If it hadn't been for the promise to her mother, best believe Olivia would not have been overwhelming herself this term. The things one does for what they love. (i.e. Disney)

"OH.... Yea, okay... So, like this?" On the edge of her paper, she wrote the revised equation, via Henry!brain.

Quote:

4 + 1 + 2 + 2 + 0 + 7 + 7

She'd almost done it this way, to be honest, but the Gryffindor blonde had been impatient with the figures.... and had just quickly grouped as many of them together as she could. Next time, she would try not to work so fast and actually take into account whether or not her... er, sum? would be different given the different ways one could compile these numbers. Numbers. NUMBERS.

Hate you, bruh.

"Thank you, Whittebrook." Hehe, surname usage. It was a new thing she was doing and made her feel more like her mum. The one downside, really. "I'll try to repay the favor." If there was ever... er, anything he needed help in. Doubtful, as he was older, but psh, she'd offered and that's what really counted, yea? The thought that mattered or some such tripe.

SPOILER!!: Professor!

SO, the moral of this story was that... she had a five. A FIVE... So, she needed to look up the things and write them down, which... to be honest, seemed kinda dumb. Look, if it was listed quite plainly in her textbook, why recopy it down onto her paper? This was not said aloud, however, as she went about flipping open her book to the right page.

Life Path Number (5)
You'll have many forks along your path and you'll welcome each change as a new opportunity with unknown results. Change is key and once you've learned this lesson, you'll move on to the next phase - championing freedom. You're progressive and super-resourceful, which make you equally good at many different trades. Career/vocation options include working with the public, advertising, publicity, or sales - any kind of work that calls for energizing power rather than routine. Travel is well-suited to you.

Vibration Number (5) - JUPITER
The spiritual meaning of number Five deals with travel, adventure, and motion. With the highs that come with these attributes, Fives also carry instability and unpredictability, and radical changes. The spiritual meaning of Five draws our attention to the wonder of life, and beckons us to appreciate the perception of chaos all around us. Five has wild vibrations: primitive and erratic. When Five continues to pop up in your life be prepared for some action, like a trip. Remember, trips aren't all necessarily taken physically. Some of the best journey's are taken in the mind and spirit.

Soooo, who'd said they had a Five??? Jacen Reed, thus far! Olivia grinned to herself, collecting her notebook to move to sit beside him.

"Me." She slide into a seat next to him, a beaming smile in place. "Mind if I take this seat?"

Holmesian Feline 10-13-2016 11:44 PM

Sailor Mars 3's here...

Now onto group discussion.

Grand idea…if one knew who you were supposed to be discussing things with. All she had was a number and a planet and had to find others with the same number and planet. Easier said than done by just looking around the room and glancing at people. Cassie wasn’t exactly seeing the supposed characteristics of number 3’s just popping up on faces. So that meant following the examples of Azura, Olivia and the rest in listening and calling out things.

Simple pimple.

“Anyone else get a 3?!” she asked, her voice raised enough to carry should someone need to, but not too loud. The Ravenclaw didn’t want to get in trouble trying to do what she was asked in the first place.

They were going to group up? Nat looked at them for a second and thought about just staying in her seat. She didn't really want to join a group, but if that's what they were suppose to do she decided to get up and try to figure it out. It thankfully didn't take long to find someone saying he had her number and sign.

Walking over to him she gave the younger student a smile. "Hey, I'm in your group." She took a seat next to him and looked around.

[5] Jupiter riiiiiiising over here + Jace & Liv

Paige had remained quiet the entirety of the lesson, including her silently slipping into the classroom and taking a seat all the way in the back and stuffing her chocolate orange gift into her bag for later. Professors really seemed to be on a roll with the treats during lessons this term and while she was quite appreciative...it was also a bit distracting and a few of her quills had needed properly cleaning from the sticky residue they left on her fingers. So...not today, professor, although an appreciative smile was offered as the class began.

Note taking...that was the thing...and soon Paige's piece of parchment was filled with information and little anecdotes from herself. Numerology was something she was rather proficient in, her own preferred form of divining utilizing in while performing readings, but when it came to calculations that this particular subject required...........not so much. She could feel her step brother rolling his eyes already with her going and asking him to check her math again - one because he hated being bothered by her and two because he loathed this particular subject almost as much as he loathed Muggle Studies, considering he was a muggleborn and all...he found the subject itself insensitive and bleak. Among other words she would not repeat.

It was a little too optimistic to hope that there wouldn't be any calculations today, right?

.........................right. Because there were the instructions to do so just now.

With thoughts of astrology and numerology driving her forward, things she felt confident in, Paige flipped through her textbook for a closer up view of how to do these particular calculations so she wouldn't have to constantly glance up at the blackboard and then back down to her parchment. Much easier to just flick her eyes over to the right slightly and proceed.

Here goes nothing? Maybe she would only mess up three times today instead of her usual five?

SPOILER!!: Paige's work

Life Path Number
The Life Path Number is an element of the core that tells you both the road you will follow throughout your life and the talents and abilities that will help you along this road. This number tells you what you can depend upon to find success in the world. Note that while other people may share the same number, it is the combination of all your numbers that will explain how to proceed down this road of life.

Finding Your Life Path Number: Add together the month, day, and year you were born using the addition method of reducing first, then adding together.

February 27, 2073
= 2 | 27 | 2073
= 2+(2+7)+(2+0+7+3)
*loads of crossed out math here*
= 2+9+(12) = 2+9+(1+2)
= 2+9+3
= 14 = 1+4 = 5

alternate method to check work:

2+2+7+2+0+7+3
= 23 = 2+3 = 5

FIVE (5): You'll have many forks along your path and you'll welcome each change as a new opportunity with unknown results.

Sitting back a bit, Paige looked over her parchment. That...looked right....right? Her head was hurting already, honestly. Five...that meant...Jupiter, right? Somehow that felt far to grand for her, but her eyes went quickly to the textbook to check the meaning. "Jupiter...The spiritual meaning of number Five deals with travel, adventure, and motion," she read quietly to herself. "With the highs that come with these attributes, Fives also carry instability and unpredictability, and radical changes. Some of the best journey's are taken in the mind and spirit."

She...honestly wasn't sure how to feel about the description, although the very last sentence did resonate with her to a certain degree....and she was assuming that she had done the math right. Plucking her textbook and folding her parchment into the page, the seventh year made her way over to where she had heard someone else mention being a five and smiled at the Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. "Also a five," she stated, eyeing her textbook curiously. "Not entirely positive I agree with the interpretation and its application to myself, however," she added as she took a seat and joined them. "At least not what the text has limited itself to explaining," she added, hinting at further understanding elsewhere.

Still a bit annoyed at how irrelevant her life path number seemed to her, Brooklyn had nearly missed Professor Carraro’s directive to gather up in groups by whatever number they had gotten until people had suddenly begun announcing their numbers as if it was some sort of bizarre auction. Minus anything being bought or sold, unless she’d missed that part of class too. Maybe she could buy a better life path number.

Even so, she’d eventually stood up and moved silently over toward the Ravenclaw who had said she had gotten a three. She still doubted anyone could convince her how it fit her, aside from her earlier observation about the arts and music and dance. If anyone could, she figured a Ravenclaw could, if she couldn’t get the professor to figure it out for her. She wasn’t planning on expending any more energy over the matter than she had to.

The moon and a bit of Nat

He'd been trying to re-read the text, hoping something would pop out at him that remotely made sense in relation to himself--no surprise, it wasn't working--when a voice tugged at his attention. More specifically, it was the sound of his name. Blaise shifted in his seat, turning so he could face the Slytherin girl. "Yeah...I'm fine. Just..." He spared a glance back at his book before wrinkling his nose, " 'm not so sure I'm really sold on any of this, y'know?"

He also wasn't sold on sitting in groups and talking about what these numbers meant to him. Simply put, they meant nothing, even with the Professor informing them that sometimes it took a while for you to grow in them and that people changed.

The Gryffindor took one look around the room before deciding no one else had the moon but if they did, they'd have to say as much because he was all for sitting right here in his seat muttering notes to his quill. In a way he was having his own little discussion...though...more accurately it could be described as a lecture.

He liked it that way too.

So were there no other fours? Az bit her lip as people came
to crowd around Jace and she slowly slipped from her seat next to her best friend and moved over to an empty one..

*sighs*

First she hates her number and now.. now no one else had it.

Sad days.

Stop the presses! The lead singer for the Sirens has the same numbers as he does?

This. is. COOL!

"Hi!" the Gryffindor greeted the songstress with a trying-to-be-cool-but-cant-hide-the-fanboy grin "Youre a six too huh? What do you think about this? You think Venus fits you and all that?" Because Venus is supposed to be the Goddess of Love and she's a lead singer and yeah he is totally mixing things up but hey small talk with a local celeb right? Yeah.

Harvey was just wondering which group he should be joining when he heard someone mention the number '3'. That was him!

Grabbing his bag, he headed over to the girl who had spoken - a Ravenclaw, too, it turned out. There was an older girl already at the table - must be another 3, he thought.

For a number which was supposed to be jovial, none of the three of them seemed to particularly express its characteristics...

"Hi, I got a 3 too, I'm Harvey," he said, smiling. Maybe they'd smile back...?

Finally a older Slytherin she had seen around started walking in her direction and she got her hopes up although the girl wasn’t actually speaking so she could only assume. “Hey…” she said in greeting anyway. Maybe the snake was just feeling awkward which meant she herself had to be the upbeat one. Until a younger housemate came up to the both of them a bit more talkative.

“Hi Harvey…I’m Cassie,” she responded returning the smile.

“So what do you both think of the meaning attached to 3’s?” she asked, figuring to try and get the discussion going. Someone had to so it was as good an idea as any. “I can see some of them as fitting, for me, the creativity at least. And I’d hope for some new adventures to be coming up.” The Ravenclaw wasn’t really one for being stagnant. She let her gaze bounce between the chalkboard and her textbook to look further into the number.

Did either of them have anything to add?

Maybe the eldest had a career goal that fit what was given. Not that Cass had any way of knowing unless she spoke.

Liv, Paige, and Azura :3

Feeling a bit awkward, Jace went back to his own parchment and tried to make sense of his life path and vibrational number. Was he meant to be always in motion? And...what kind of movement exactly? The Ravenclaw pulled a serious face as he went over his work, double checking if he got his answer right. Mid-way, he looked up to see Liv move next to him. “Oh, no. Not at all.” He said returning the smile and moved a bit to the side to give the Gryffindor more room. Soon after, Paige joined them. “I’m not entirely sold either.” He said tapping his work. “I don’t like moving around too much...nor do I like abrupt changes in my environment or...in my life in general.” He said shrugging and crossing his arms across his chest. “Will it...erm...make my life better if I actually welcome such...adjustments?” Because really, he’s perfectly fine with his life right now.

Out of the corner of his eye, Jace saw Azura move away from where she originally sat, and looked defeated. No other fours? The Ravenclaw spared Liv and Paige a glance before turning his attention to his best friend. “Azura...” he said gesturing her to sit with his group. “You can join our group if there are no other fours...” he said as he looked around to make sure no one else got that number. Jace was sure Liv and Paige won’t mind.

Rafael looked at his watch and groaned there wasn’t much time left in class. That was too bed really. He had wanted to be able to give everyone more time to finish their discussions but time seemed to have other ideas. ”Alright class, we have half an hour to finish our discussions – if you aren’t in a group I implore you to join any group and really and discuss your findings with them.” he smiled softly, as really, it wasn’t as if people had a choice on when they were born or what their names were. It was something he always was lenient about the discussions were never a strict or rigorously guarded sacred event. No, they were more freeform and relaxed. People could even get all comfy on their beanbags and relax a bit while discussing their findings.

”thank you Mr. Reed,” he smiled over to the Ravenclaw boy that had offered for his friend to join their group. That was really rather nice. He was a good kid.

OOC: You guys have 12 hours to finish up – I meant to post this earlier (internet service issues today & I was cleaning) anyhow class will be closing tomorrow at around 11:59pm at the latest

Grouping up? Really? Jonas hated to group up. And plus, he didn't even remember his life number...what was it again? All he knew was that he was a saturn...
"Anyone a Saturn?" He asked outloud.

Maybe the eldest had a career goal that fit what was given. Not that Cass had any way of knowing unless she spoke.

It wasn’t that she was being antisocial. No matter what people thought, Brooklyn knew she wasn’t antisocial. She was just very selective as to whom she bothered to speak with, and when the subject was something she wasn’t particularly happy with, she figured she was allowed to stay silent. Although she had nodded in the girl’s direction in response to the greeting, followed by a glance at the even younger boy who had come over almost way too excited.

“Brooklyn,” she offered, since the others had introduced themselves.

“The only part I thought was relevant to me was the creative aspect, too,” she continued. “Ballet and violin, specifically. But I don’t see how the rest of it fits me at all.” She would have been curious to see if anyone could convince her, and that hadn’t changed. She just doubted either of them knew enough about her to come up with anything good enough, even if they were Claws.

Joining Jace, Liv and Paige

Wellllllppppp

There didn't seem to be any other fours and Azura bit her lip as she looked around.. okay. so.. could she go join another group? She was just about to ask the Professor if she could when she turned to look at Jace as he spoke to her.

She smiled a bit at his words and she moved towards him just as the teacher thanked him.

"Thank you. " She said gratefully as she slid into the seat next to her best friend and smiled warmly at him. She was very very grateful for him right now.

She smiled as Liv and Paige. "Thanks for letting me join. I hope you don't mind? "

Olivia was so out of her depth here. So, instead of really contributing much to the conversation at first, she grinned at Princess Azula, and just watched Paige and Jacen's back and forth. Also, of course, Azula could join them, even if she was a Four. Who cared about if numbers were different, anyway? To HECK with THAT, so said this Gryffindor.

Also, "I'm always down for an adventure, and I have traveled mostly with Rooney and my da." To the States, and varies places to visit Disney theme parks. "And I do feel like my life is in constant motion. Lots of things are changing right now, even as we sit here. My relationships with people and my friends, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing." Was she rambling? Probably. "Lastly, anyone who knows me understands that I don't mind a little chaos and disorder. Shaking things up keep it interesting."

... To Jacen, "If it takes you out of your comfort zone, you'll probably be able to experience more growth." That's how she saw it, anyway. It could've been a crap perspective. Everyone was different and could believe in their own things.

Tilting his head, he watched as Liv wrote out the calculations as he suggested. He didn't really know if it would work differently or the same if the numbers were grouped in another way, but he thought it best to always do it consistently. "Yeah, just like that," he nodded. "Looks like you got it now." Even if it was still the same result.

And it looked like they were moving on, so he figured he'd better head back to his seat. "No problem, Phillips," he grinned, returning the surname thing. "Oh, really, don't worry about it." That was nice of her to offer though, but he was really happy to help. He didn't need anything in return.

Oh, they had to group up? Henry wasn't sure why they had to group up according to their numbers exactly, especially if all they were going to be doing was to discuss how they felt about their numbers. They could probably do that as a class if they really had to. And from his experiences in Arithmancy, it seemed like most people could find some of the traits very relevant while the others were still hidden and yet to be revealed. But okay, he wasn't the disagreeable type and was fine to go along with it.

Looking around as people started grouping up, the fourth year searched for someone - anyone? - who had a two. He heard some threes, fours, fives, and sixes, and he could see where those people were starting to assemble. But he hadn't heard anyone say two... was he just not paying attention?

Picking up his notes, he glanced around the room as he got up. "Anyone else have a two? The moon?" Henry would either need to join someone or just tag along with another group. That would be weird though and he'd sort of feel like an outsider with everyone else talking about their shared number.

There were very few things that Rafael Carraro loved more than watching students discussions. Teaching was one of them, but really, his family was the most important thing in his life. Looking at the clock again he sighed, the time nigh. Why couldn’t he simply free time? Let them discuss things for forever and a day?

”Alright class, the time has come – please, do have a great day and have a wonderful winter break” Rafael smiled at everyone – really he was just smiling at the idea of being back home with his sisters and all of the women in his life. Really, it was hard for him he was going to be the sole person to carry on the Carraro name what with the fact that he had been the only ‘boy’ in the family. Sure, true Marcela and Jessamin’s kids had kept the Carraro name…but really, it was a favor to their kids. Bento Burke didn’t have the same ring to it as Bento Carraro. Still, he was just happy that he would be able to see them all of his family. He missed them more and more every day.

OOC: Hey guys, I wanted to say thank you for taking the time out of your busy lives and schedules to attend my class, I hope you guys all had a lot of fun as really, that’s the entire point of this? To have fun! Please feel free to catchup and if you really are enjoying the discussion RP please feel free to continue it in the student work room.
