Paul was ready for his duel. He had done well last term, so clearly he expected to do well again this term, even if he was dueling Sora, who seemed highly capable of being a good dueler...maybe. He didn't know the woman too well YET but..yeah.

It'd probably be a challenge.

He smiled at Sora as he walked inside and took his place across the room. "Hope you're doing well today!" he said cheerfully before taking a deep bow, wand in hand.

He immediately sent a non-verbal babbling curse her way and then a whispered a quick, "Colloshoo!" Though, as an afterthought, he wondered if that would have any affect...besides letting her not be able to sidestep out of the away of a spell.

Whatever. Paul was chill.

She hasn't been in a duel for a long time, maybe since she was in Ilvermorny. But it didn't mean that she lacked of experience. And facing Paul for her first duel? This should be interesting.

"You too." The Divination professor replied as she bowed to her opponent. Her wand's ready and she watched the Herbology professor sent his first attack nonverbally. "Protego!" She quickly cast the shield charm and deflected it back to him. And again Sora cast the shield charm and sent the stickfast hex back to Paul. Yes, she excelled in shield charm.

Should she send another attack? Maybe later.

Well....Sora didn't get hit with anything. And she didn't really SEND anything back over, either. Just...deflecting his own spells back at him. Paul ducked the first one, and...did a dramatic and unnecessary roll on the ground to avoid the second one, and shot one, quick spell at Sora.

Melofors. Paul used Melofors. BECAUSE WHY NOT? Also, for as much as Paul liked to win these things, he liked to use the SILLIEST spells. But really, Melofors was kind of cool wasn't it? Pumpkins, cool. Also it would be disorienting if it DID hit Sora this time.

Meanwhile, Paul whistled a tune. A simple one, but it kept his brain in focus, weirdly enough. The whistle echoed throughout the large room.

SPOILER!!: Point Tracker!

Spells Cast:

Melofors: Encases the head of a target in a pumpkin

Her shield charm was good, admit that. But too bad that Paul was quick enough to avoid her attacks. He did have a good reflex so... Okay. Sora might know what should she do next. But first, the divination professor cast the shield charm and deflected the attack again. "Protego!!" Pumpkin head spell? Seriously? Goodness, what a good sense of humor. Lucky that she was quick enough to cast the shield charm or she might end up having a pumpkin head.

She didn't waste her time and cast the disarming charm and combined it with homing spell. She didn't want to aggressively attack the opponent. Hey, this was a duel but she's gonna do it with finesse because sometimes too many attacks are unnecessary.

For an older man, Paul had OKAY reflexes. Like those two just now--the duck and roll--had him pooped out already. He'd have to rely on magic next time, and his protego wasn't ALWAYS the best.

Well, it looked like he needed to use it, now. Because she sent a simple expelliarmus his away and it was headed RIGHT for him! "PROTEGO!" he cried, the shield coming up between him and the SPELLLLLLS. "Ahh. Good job self," he patted himself on the back, quite literally.

He was pouring over spells in alphabetical order in his head--and he had two O ones he just thought would be PERRRRFECTO! "Orbis!" quickly followed by "OBSCURO!" because those were also quite fun, heh! He almost tripped over his own feet as he stepped forward to deliver the spells, but thankfully he caught himself.

Merlin knew, he couldn't afford to sprain his ankle or something.

Looks like she's gonna depend on shield charm in order to protect herself from the attack. Too bad that Paul successfully avoid the deflecting spell AGAIN... Okay, maybe Sora needed to make him immobilize. The divination professor again cast the shield charm and deflecting orbis. Right before she could take a breath, her opponent send another attack again and.. "PROTEGO!!!" Lucky that she had a chance to deflect the obscuro.

And let's just take a breath for a while. Breaaaaaaaaaaaathe.....

Wow. This is so intense. Come on, Yoon! She whispered to herself. Okay, let's do this. "Furnunculus!" She shot the spell to the herbology Professor. A-ha! Sora just got a brilliant idea. Let's play hide and seek by using the disillusionment charm to herself.

Paul had to admire her shield skills. Paul just thought they were so boring to use in a duel--useful, though. Maybe he was too playful, not taking this seriously. Heh.

Goodness, he hopped out of the way of that first deflected spell, the quicksand one, yeah? Thank Merlin because that would have been---

HE COULDN'T BLOODY SEE.

HE COULDN'T SEE.

WHO HAD TURNED OUT THE LIIIIIIGHTS?!

MERLIN'S PANTS. The next spell to hit him (since he couldn't SEE) was...a pretty nasty one, one he would have never used on a colleague, and his skin erupted in painful, red BOILS. "OUCH!" he cried, slapping one on his arm to pop it--but that felt disgusting and hurt MORE so...he decided to deal with the boils later.

Ugh.

Hobbling about, Paul shot three spells in that...whole general direction, even though he couldn't SEEEEEE.

First, the pus squirting hex, since Sora wanted to be GROSSSSSS.

Second, the tickling spell.

And third, Orchideous, just for the fun of it, hehe!

Paul had no doubt in his head that he would probably be losing. But that was okay. "You've a good fight, Sora!" he said with a bit of laugh.

Well, if this wasn't an interesting duel, he didn't know what was.

The man watched as spell after spell was shot between the two. He knew what Paul was like and was therefore, not at all surprised to hear the humming coming from the man. Instead, he focused quite a bit of attention on Sora, someone who was new to this club and someone whom he hadn't seen duelling before. Huh. She was good with her shield charms, wasn't she? Number one spell for defence.

Before he could come to any more conclusions, however, the duel came to an end and he found himself bringing up the familiar shield again. Sorry, Paul, your first two spells were now useless but your flowers could still be given to your duelling partner. "That was a very interesting duel to watch. Very interesting, indeed." He almost wished he didn't have to referee it and could just sit back and watch in the stands. "Both of you have put up a good fight but, Sora, you've beaten last term's Professor Dueling Champion today. Be careful, Paul." There was a playful smile on the man's face. Oh, this was going to be good.

Stats:
Paul Myers: 73.67%
Sora Yoon: 92.89%
