At the top of the north tower some ways down from the Astronomy classroom is a large rooftop garden that has been expanded in memory of the late Marion Burbage, substitute professor of Astronomy. Lush green hedges and flower beds line the perimeter of the area and a large fountain greets you towards the opposite end. Located to the left of the fountain is a stone plaque engraved with words from the Headmistress herself which reads :
Rest in peace old friend, beloved wife, renowned stargazer, and special professor. Always in our hearts.
Beside this plaque lays another plaque placed in memory of another professor who gave their life while in service to Hogwarts. The plaque reads :
In Memory of E.M. Forrester, a brilliant space scientist, educator, and Slytherin Head of House. He will be missed.
Wooden benches and tables are scattered throughout the patch for students and professor alike to lounge, reflect on social events, complete homework tasks, and just generally hang out. Positioned at each of the four corners of the Tower Patch are topiary depicting each of the four house's mascots - a lion, a badger, an eagle, and a snake - that have been proven sturdy enough to climb upon.

Azura made her way up to the Tower patch, it seemed like a good place to get away from everything and catch her breath. Her first few days back had been interesting. She was regretting telling Jace about what happened to her mother.. He didn't seem to know how to handle it.. Or her.
She lay down on the grass and looked up at the sky for a moment before she closed her eyes. A few tears slid out of her closed lids as she listened to the soothing sounds of the fountain.
Why had she been forced to come back? She felt like she was suddenly a stranger in the halls.. She felt numb.. Food still tasted like ash and now she was starting to have nightmares..
She took a deep breath and opened her eyes..more tears coming from her eyes.. As she finally stopped being strong for one moment..
pardon our intrusion, dear. Concerned mother hen of a ghost *hohohohohoho*
Goodness Gracious Heavens Above!

Marion Burbage simply adoooooooooooooooooored her little Tower Patch even if she was now physically incapable of tending to it herself. Which caused her a jolly loud chuckle as she floated about. She had DIED here after all.
It was on one of her usual rounds of the area (so she could alert that studmuffin Airey Flamsteed of its needs were there any) when she happened upon a daaaaaaaaaaaarling child with the saddest set of eyes Marion Burbage had seen since in a long long time.
"Oh my gooooooodness gracious HEAVENS above," she clucked as she glided quickly over to the little Miss. "Whatever is troubling you, my darling?"

Azura felt her tears leave her eyes as she cried silently.. She hadn't cried much since she had arrived. She was trying to be strong.. But right now.. She just couldn't. She had to let it out.. It got worse in the silent times.. when everything was quiet.. That was when she missed her mother the most. That was when everything seemed to hit her..
That her mom was really gone, her step dad disappeared.. and she was alone..Azura was crying more when she heard a voice.. And it wasn't the voice she had almost been expecting to hear.. That would have been Brady or Jace..
No, this one was much higher.. and.. otherworldly! She looked over to see a ghost moving over to her!
*blink* *blink blink*
Purple watery eyes looked up at the Ghost as she asked what was wrong and Azura slowly sniffled and wiped her eyes with the back of her hand.. "Uhh.. My.. my mom died.." She finally got out.. as she bit her lip a little.. "Recently.. This place is so quiet.. I thought.. it would be a good place.. to come.. when.. I'm sad." It was practically a memorial after all.
"Umm.. I'm.. Azura." She said as she introduced herself to the friendly looking ghost.

Brady was running late. He had run into one of the first years that he had met at the feast in the common room. He didn't want to be rude to the new girl and just say that he had to leave but he also had places to be at people to talk to. Important people to talk to. Well more of a person and not a people.
The second year looked at the owl that Azura had sent him. He just wanted to make sure that he wasn't going to head to the wrong place and he that she wasn't there because she said that she was going to be elsewhere. He paused and skimmed through the letter. Okay. He had to meet her at the Astronomy tower. Brady ran as fast as he could to the tower, as he made his way up he stopped and heard Azura talking to some. She was telling this person about her mother. Brady frowned a little bit. He stepped a little closer and say that it was a ghost.
That must have been hard for her to do. Brady didn't really tell anyone here about his father being dead. Kat already knew and the other person he told was Azura. No one asked about his father so he didn't really have to tell anyone unless they asked him about it. "Hey." He said stepping closer to the Azura and the ghost.

Ooooooooooooooooooh what Marion would give right now for a pair of sturdy arms that would not just pass through the POOR LITTLE DEAR and give her an AWFUL chill.
"Oh my dear sweet child," the ghost cooed, gliding even closer to the little dear. "I am oh so teeeeeerribly sorry for your loss." To come to know such sadness at such a young age....it made Marion's semitransparent heart simply want to break. Of all the horrors students had seen at Hogwarts, nothing could compare to the emotions involved in something like this. "You can tell Marion Burbage aaaaaaaall about it any time you wish, my dear," she smiled at the young one as she floated in a sitting position beside the dear little Ravenclaw.
And then they were joined by a daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarling little Hufflepuff. "Helloooooo," she beckoned to the boy. "A friend of yours, Azura, yes?" Marion prided herself on being quite perceptive on such matters. "Come come, my dear boy, we are going to provide your darling little friend here with some good cheer and good company."
Yes. That vacant spot on the opposite side of Azura should do just lovely.

Azura turned to look at the voice that had come from the entrance to the Tower patch, and an actual real smile passed over her face as she saw who it was. "Brady!" She said as she looked over at him, relief sweeping over her.. Somehow.. since he was here.. Everything felt like it was.. okay?
Probably because he knew everything. Mmmm..That was it.
She turned back up to the Ghost.. Marion Burbage? Ohh! This was her garden, she died here! Azura decided that she liked her, and she sniffled a little as she spoke. "T..thank you.. Mrs.. Burbage.. I.. might take you up on that." She whispered out as she watched the ghost float next to her.. "And.. thank.. you." She said sniffling as the Ghost then mentioned Brady..
"Mmmm, he is a good friend of mine." She said softly as she looked over at Brady with another half smile.. "He knows everything as well." A soft sniffle left her nose as she wiped her eyes again..

Lugging his inflatablecaptain's chair up to the Tower Patch, Airey surveyed the area for the perfect location...which was apparently going to take a lot more methodical thinking than initially thought. He had put his seat down and tested no less than 10 different spots before settling on one with just enough distance between the seat and the wall surrounding the garden that he could press his shoes against it for a makeshift footrest and a bit of stretching at the same time and over by the lion topiary.
Pebbles, naturally, was nestled comfortably on his lap as he got himself situated and slipped on a pair of fashionable sunglasses.
Now...to relax...munch on a few gourmet marshmallows... and wait.

Hadleigh Lynch trudged all the way up here from the dungeons. Why, when it was soooo close to the Gryffindor tower and chances were high of running into a tall blonde Prefect she wasn't sure but here she was anyhow. Maybe the view and some fresh air would help clear her head as nothing else had been working for her lately. Chances were it would be quiet up here too. At least she hoped it would be that way.
Only it wasn't so. Not today. Hady stopped mid-step through the doorway her eyes instantly landing on none other then Professor Flamsteed and pebbles. The brunette nearly spun on her heel and walked back out the way she had just come but honestly seven floors worth of stairs was a lot to just turn around and walk away again. Which meant she had only one choice, "Hello Professor, hello Pebbles," she greeted softly forcing a small smile onto her lips. She was happy...nope no sadness here. Please eyes don't betray us now...

Chuckling to himself after offering Pebbles a marshmallow - it momentarily slipping his mind that she was allergic to gelatin and high fructose corn syrup - Airey popped the marshmallow into his mouth and was mid-chew when the Slytherin made her presence known. CHEW FASTER, FLAMSTEED!
"Ah, good day, Miss Lynch," he greeted, swallowing the marshmallow a bit prematuring and choking just a bit. Few firm pounds to the chest and hefty coughs later, in which NO bits nor chunks of half chewed marshmallow were spat in any direction, helped take care of all that though. "Care to join me?"

Hady eyed the man as he offered something to Pebbles his pet rock. Most others would find this strange but she found it oddly amusing which made her laugh quietly under her breath. Laughter was nice as much wasn't doing that for her lately so bravo on that Professor!
She offered a smile to his return greeting blinking and stepping forward when Airey then proceeded to choke on his food! Goodness gracious this poor man couldn't eat, talk or walk without harming himself! "Are you alright, Professor!?," she asked suddenly alarmed by his sudden coughing fit. Thankfully he was able to pull himself out of it and appeared just fine moments later. "I would like that, if you don't mind?" If she was disturbing his peace or something she could easily be on her way, plus no one really wanted to hang about with a moody teenaged girl.

The Hufflepuff looked over at a Azura and smiled brightly. "Hey! Are you feeling any better today?" He cared for her so he wanted to know if there was anything he could do to help her. Brady looked at the ghost. Ghosts were awesome! It didn't matter if they were mean, grumpy ghosts or very friendly ghosts. He was just a ghost loving second year. Oh! She was inviting him to stand on the other side of Azura! He could do that. Bradson walked around and stood on the other side of Azura. His blue-green eyes looked at the ghost. "Do you have a name?" He asked her. It would be rude to not know her name. Oh, she was telling the ghost about her mother. "I know everything. I was the first friend of hers to find out." He was pressing her a bit on the train but only because he cared.

Oliver had been bored out of his mind and decided to go on a walk around the castle. Before he knew it, he was all the way up by the astronomy tower and re-discovering the tower patch, which he hadn't seen since his first or second year at Hogwarts. WHOA. He looked around at the greenery and the name plate which contained Dr. Forrester's name, whom the tower patch had been dedicated to. This place was as cool as the last time he'd been here. And luckily, he'd worn a jacket to keep him from freezing bum off.
Taking a seat on one of the very cold benches (therefore freezing his bum), and enjoyed the scenery for now.

It was FREEZING. Winter was the absolute worst. It was times like this that the Prefect missed Miami. The boyfriend would probably be helpful in situations like this, but alas, boyfriend was not here.
She headed out to the astronomy tower to take a look around. She was hoping the sun was out and would provide her a little warmth.
She noticed she was alone though. Awkward. She chewed her lip deciding whether or not to say something.
Okay.
"Hey." she said with a small smile. Hopefully this wasn't weird. She just wanted to make sure he was alright after... everything.

Ollie hadn't really noticed anyone come out to the patch until she spoke. He had been too busy admiring the sky. Oops.
Turning so his back wasn't to her anymore, he realized just who the girl was. Even though they didn't know each other well, there's no way he'd forget who she was. Or more so, who she was related so.
He offered her a small smile out of respect. After all, Kaycee wasn't the one who had completely...screwed him over. "Uh...hey. I was just...uh......sitting." This was definitely extremely awkward. Oliver had been avoiding all Gryffindor things so he wouldn't run into Kaycee's sister, not so much Kaycee herself, but he just never really expected this to happen...especially here. Then again, the tower patch was closer to the prefect's dorm than it was to his own. ".....wanna sit?"

Kaycee nodded. She wanted to make this the least amount of awkward possible. Which, might not even be possible at all. She glanced at the grounds and looked back at him when he started speaking again.
That was weirdly nice.
"Yeah. Okay." she replied heading over toward him. She sat a little bit away. She didn't want to be too far or too close.
"... how are you doing?" Was that a weird thing to ask him? Hopefully not.

Oh good, she sat. This was going to be good...or okay at least. Better than if it had been Kali anyway. But Ollie was going to do his best to not think about her throughout this conversation because that was only going to upset him and, again, Kaycee had done nothing to him.
Except now she was asking how he was doing.... Did that mean how was he doing in regards to the breakup? Or was it more like 'Let's pretend Kali doesn't exist, how are you doing in life?' Oliver really prefered the latter so he was just...gonna pretend that's what she was going. And if it was actually the former, maybe Kaycee would get the hint and leave all Kali things out of their conversation. Maybe. Hopefully.
I'm...okay." Which was actually true for both questions. "I've been trying to study and not succeeding, so I decided to come up here for a break...from not studying." That made sense, right? Did for him anyway.

Kaycee nodded. "Been there." she said with a knowing laugh. "OWLs are the worst. I'm not looking forward to NEWTs next year." Understatement of the year.
But she did get the hint that he didn't want to talk about her twin. Understandable. She wouldn't know what to say either. I'm sorry. didn't seem like it would actually cut it.
"Which OWLs are you taking?" That was a safe topic, right?

For whatever reason, Oliver had actually forgotten that Kaycee was a year older than him. It always felt like Kali was his age...until she....whatever. "Mind if I ask how you did on your OWLs??? And how horrible they were?" He couldn't even imagine taking NEWTs. "I'll never understand why they can't spread out exams more. Maybe some exams our second year to see how we're doing and then the other our last year or something?" It made plenty of sense to him honestly.
Did he know...which.... Oops. Oliver's face turned a light shade of red as he realized he hadn't even thought that part out. "No....actually...." GOOD JOB, OLIVER JAMES FINCH.

Kaycee shrugged. "Average basically. But I didn't really care too much. My plan is to dance for as long as I can and then open up a studio."
None of those plans required a magical education.
She chuckled lightly. "Or just not have any exams at all." That would be lovely. But, alas, that was not how school worked. For shame.
"Any idea what you want to do after school? That would help you decide."

Oliver kind of admired Kaycee. He really did try not to care about the dumb exams, but he always failed. This was exactly why he kept trying to study...and yet he failed at that too. "I actually forgot you dance. That's so cool. Are you auditioning for stuff soon?" From what he had heard from Tim about dance stuff, auditions for career dance things were real. He would die having to dance in front of judges.
Sighing at the thought of no exams, he nodded in agreement. That was the dream life.
"No, not really. I could be a trainer at a gym or something? But I don't actually know how to get other people into the bodies they want...I wonder if there's training to be a trainer?" It sounded like a dumb question but he was really curious. Sadly, he wasn't actually sure he wanted to be a trainer but he figured he would be decent at it at least.

Kaycee nodded. "Yeah. Been doing it my whole life pretty much." She shook her head. "No. I do hip hop and right now I'm just competing. I'd like to go on tour and do workshops. Or get a sponsor or something." That'd be cool. Or be one of those dancers on tv. There were a lot of options.
She nodded. "If that's the case, you don't really need to worry about exams either." Just sayin'. She nodded. "There's probably proper technique and motivational strategies training."

"That's all just so cool. I mean...you're probably going to be famous. Do you win most competitions?" From what Kali had said, Kaycee was an amazing dancer. Ollie had no reason not to believe it's true, so clearly the girl was going place. And this meant Oliver was going to have to remember her name forever so he could go around telling people he went to school with her. Because that was the kind of boy Oliver was. Maybe he wouldn't any people who are actually famous, but at least he had Kaycee...kind of.
And now he was seeing that Kaycee had a really good point. If he really didn't want to do any wizard jobs after graduating, he didn't need to take OWLs seriously. Granted, it would take him some time to actually figure out if he would really truly need the OWLs, but this was a start. "Maybe it's just because you're older than me, but you're smart. You make good points. I'd never thought of not needing the OWLs." Not seriously anyway. Oliver nodded, taking all the mental notes. He waws going to have to remember this for later in life.

Kaycee nodded. "Of course." Not to brag or anything, but she was pretty good. "Do you know Kyroh? He's a seventh year Ravenclaw. We compete together."
She smiled. "That's probably why they gave me this thing." she said tapping the badge on her chest. She was actually starting to see that maybe Prefecting was something she was good at.
"How does one even go about being a trainer, I wonder." she said tapping her chin. "Are you thinking at a gym or for a team?"

Ollie couldn't help but laugh. He was glad she was so sure she'd be famous. Kali wasn't quite like that, for her own reasons of course, but it was nice to see Kaycee was confident. "Uuumm I think of heard of Kyroh, never met him though. That's really cool too though! I didn't think there were any male dancers at Hogwarts." Obviously he knew they existed, but he had just never heard of them at this school. He figured maybe magical parents just...didn't want their boys doing that? Which would be dumb but not like he was a parent.
Smiling, Ollie nodded and looked at the pin. She was the only prefect he'd ever had a full conversation with. His nerves always got the best of him with his own prefects. "What's it like being a Prefect anyway?" He always assumed it was hard...and just hard, really.
"I have no idea? Maybe you just...gotta make up workout plans and then apply places and show them what you have? Kind of like a portfolio." He knew stuff about applying for muggle jobs because he'd figured that's where he'd end up, so why wouldn't being a trainer be nearly the same. "A gym, I think? But like...one on one? I don't do well with big groups." He blushed a little at that. Oliver hoped that by the time he was off looking for a job, his nerves would be under control, but who really knew.
