Reluctantly, the boy took the seat opposite the Professor at the desk. He did very little to hide the sullen expression. "Everyone makes mistakes, even witches and wizards. Someone must have sent me the owl on accident then someone else decided to keep me here as punishment for showing up where I don't belong." That was the way he saw it. Nevermind that he'd proven he could cast spells, nevermind that if he practiced enough on his own he got them--nevermind that his wand was some self proclaimed aguamenti expert. He did not do magic.
At the man's next statement, Blaise reached into his holster and undid his wand. "I'm sorry Professor." The boy lay the wand before the man, nudging it ever closer to him before leaning back in his seat.
"If you want the spells practiced with that wand, you're welcome to use it but I won't be. Our relationship isn't such that I tell her to do something and she actually listens."
Julien did not believe for a minute that Hogwarts made a mistake.
"There wasn't a mistake Blaise you are just being too stuborn to realize this. You are a wizard and could be a great one if you just put some faith in the staff here and in yourself." Wasn't he even related to a previous staff member? Julien thought that's what he was told once, but maybe he was wrong.
He watched as he put the wand down and shook his head. How disappointing it was coming to this.
"This wand picked you, did it not?" Every time a young student got a wand Julien knew how the process worked.
"The wand knows you aren't confident and don't really want to learn. You need to change your focus to help get the wand to trust your actions. Now please pick up the wand and head to dinner. I will be seeing you tomorrow evening at seven p.m. in the dungeons for detention."
Quite honestly he was hungry, annoyed, and just done for the evening.
