Lame but I'm here. :3 Quote:
What would she be able to do? "Oh no, this isn't me trying to get out of classes." She didn't want to do it because of trying to get out of classes. "Professor I'm good at Charms and even better at DADA. I just want to get better at both." So bodyguarding the charms professor totally made sense now. |
Not a good time? Like... girl child was throwing books and drooling on herself, and he thought she hadn't noticed it wasn't a good time for their pow-wow? Dot scoffed a little, but she also planted herself firmly in the doorway so the younger student couldn't escape. Must be Ravenclaw. They loved their books. "If you want to dismiss me, sir, I'm happy to take my leave. Or I can re-shelve your books? I think a good restoration charm would put them to rights, and I happen to know one." It worked wonders for scuffed shoes, but probably dented and dinged books would improve considerably as well. "What's wrong with this one?" The girl. |
SPOILER!!: You two What the hell was she doing? Haddie was a bit crazy, but this was bad even for the third year. She would always answer when he spoke and usually had respect. "Haddie if you don't stop and answer me discipline will have to happen." Something wasn't right though and he knew the girl wasn't going to stop to answer any questions. "No, no we still need to discuss your actions during class today, but first please help by fixing my books." Though she didn't know the order they were to go in. He'd have to fix that later. His first concern was Haddie. Seeing Dot in her way he pulled his wand and watched her closely. "On second thought just stay there for a moment." Haddie would notice Dot standing there and finally realize what was going on, wouldn't she? SPOILER!!: They Second Year body guard He was amused, yes, Julien Primeaux was amused. This child wanting to be his body guard was a nice comic relief that he needed with the boys that he had been dealing with lately. "So you are going to be my body guard for you to get better at charms and defense. Please tell me what you think is going to come after me to allow you to practice." This was going to be good, it just had to be. Who or what would really be after him? He was fifty one, married, three kids, so really he could handle anything. He sat quietly thinking. He was really thinking this over. He could play along for a second year and even possibly have some danger so she could practice. It was all about the students learning and if this could help her learn, maybe next term he could assign students to staff for the challenge. |
Hadley both did and didn't notice the girl blocking her path. She recognized her for what she was at the most basic level: an obstacle in her way. In the way of fulfilling her purpose. Her only purpose. As before, Primeaux's demands and warnings got no reaction. Hadley stopped just in front of Dot. Glazed eyes stared not at her, but through her. And there she stayed, paused, swaying slightly, for a long moment. Then the zombie second year lifted her arm, and gave her obstacle a good, hard shove. She didn't really use her muscles as much as put all of her weight into the shove. Then she gave another shove, attempting to move the obstacle from her path. Must...bring boook... |
SPOILER!!: *snort* another easel Oh joy another one of those painting things. Blaise's eyes locked on the easel as he made his entrance, idly wondering if the man had an appointment with someone else who'd wanted extra practice. Why they couldn't enlarge a piece of parchment and practice on their own time, in their own space was beyond him but just maybe there were some who actually enjoyed the man's presence and PREFERRED working in his office. Far fetched but plausible. "Good evening Professor. You wanted to see me?" Trick question; of course the man did. This was hardly a voluntary visit. Blaise glanced briefly over at the chairs, before looking to Professor Primeaux at his desk. He would remain standing, thank you. The boy hardly made a reaction as his quick quotes quill opted to float closer to the man, obviously the more eager of the two to hear whatever was to be said. |
SPOILER!!: You know who you are It was probably for the best that the professor didn't want her to help organize and fix his books, since the little Ravenclaw was still being weird. Like... Dot's skin was crawling from the vacant expression on the girl's face, and she hadn't spoken a word since she found whatever book it was she was looking for. "Of course, sir. I'll just wait until you're ready for me." It didn't help that the weird girl was goldfishing at her. She'd just stopped and stood there, staring at Dot like she'd left her body and would be back later to fetch it. "Um, are you feeling...?" And then the girl shoved her. Hard. And Dot wasn't expecting it, so she went flying back a few steps into the wall opposite the professor's office door. Her elbow and the back of her head cracked against the wall, and Dot blinked against the bright pain!lights that blinded her vision. "Ow!" |

"Are you alright?" He put out a hand for Dot so that she could have some help up if she needed. Had she hit her head? Maybe she shouldn't be getting up if she did. He just watched her for a bit to see if he should get Cece or if she'd be fine on her own. Quote:
He folded his hands and looked the boy over for a second. "Now I asked you to follow the lesson and take detailed notes. I'm going to assume you followed those directions." He wasn't going to bring up the walls just yet, no that could wait. "I have brought one of the easels here from the classroom so that you can show me what all we did in class today. Why don't you start with the shapes." |
Primeaux and Dot Not even the partial threat of detention got a reaction. Nor did the points for that matter. She didn't even seem to register Dot the moment she'd been shoved out of her path. Didn't even glance down to check if the girl was alright, or see what happened to her. Hadley just started to shamble on her way again. She had her prize. The way was clear. That's all that mattered to Hadley. With that, she lumbered out of the office and out of the waiting area. "Boook?" In different light, the book looked different. "Not book..." Hadley dropped the book and continued to shuffle her way down the hall toward the stairs. The library was the next floor up. It had books. Many books. Maybe book was there. "Book!" |
"No, I am not okay," Dot couldn't decide if she should rub her head or her elbow, and based on the fact that she felt like throwing up if she moved too fast, she decided to do neither. She just lay there, eyes closed, and hoped desperately that it wasn't too serious. Like... girlfriend was trying to get a ballet scholarship here, sir. "My head hurts, and that little girl pushed me, and... I'm going to throw up." She rolled on her side and gagged, but nothing happened. Dot pressed her face against the cool stones and tried to lay still. |
SPOILER!!: Prof dude Ah, so it was one of those meetings. For his part, Blaise nodded, a habit he'd developed listening through his Head of House's speech regarding the same topic. Worried about him. Wanted to contact his parents. Falling behind and shouldn't leave his wand in his trunk. Yup, sounded like the Professor had covered everything this go. Only, if the speech was already over, why was the man still talking? Notes? Of course his quill had taken those--albeit different than how they were actually said but thorough nonetheless so that got another nod.......and yet another nod when instructed to show what they'd gone through. "Sure thing." The boy gestured his quill over to the easel, pointing with his index figure to the first point he required. "Horizontal line from here.....to here." Slowly his finger drifted across the canvas, giving a demonstration as to where the quill was meant to go. "Now another, this one diagonal from here to here." So far so good. "Diagonal connecting the two end points. " Once the quill was done, Blaise turned to the Professor again. "There, a triangle." Much like the one who'd drawn in class. Told you he was paying attention. |
Quote:
He put out his hand for her to take and stood to help her up. "Just go slow so you don't get dizzy or fall again." He was going to have a serious talk with Haddie when he was through making sure Dot was alright. Quote:
What was Blaise doing? He watched and his brow furrowed more and more. "Enough" He hit his hand on his desk. "You know what the instruction was when I told you to come to my office in class. I told you that you would be using your wand and the charms to show that you have been listening and that you are trying." He was tired of the laziness he was seeing with a few students and if they would just apply themselves they would be amazed at what they really could do. "Now please pull out your wand and do the charms we learned in class unless you would like to find yourself in detention for not doing the classwork." He was not in the mood to tolerate a child being defiant. He wanted to help the students, but he would not be helping if the student' couldn't follow simple directions. |
*declones after a thousand years* Quote:
No. The second Primeaux moved to block the door, Daxton felt his rage spike yet again. He clenched his fists by his sides and drew himself up to his full height, ready to fight the professor off if necessary. But Primeaux only continued with his lecture, which left Daxton almost disappointed at the lack of real confrontation. He looked past the professor and at the door, refusing to even risk a single moment of eye contact, breathing heavily and mentally screaming for him to move out of his way, to quit blocking the exit and let him out. Again, Primeaux was going on as if Daxton's success would be Primeaux's accomplishement, as if Daxton would have to rely on him to be great, as if that was the only way of achieving anything. He kept pushing and pushing, and Daxton had already had enough. The second the exit was clear, Daxton continued on out of the room as if no further exchange had occurred, shoving at the door with all his might to get through, and then letting it slam closed behind him. Before he could let his temper get the better of him, he stormed away, putting as much distance between himself and that office as he could. |

Dot leaned forward and breathed slowly, letting her lungs inflate fully before she breathed out through her nose. It calmed her and calmed her stomach, and the nausea passed. "If you just give me a minute, I'll be able to be on my way. I'm sure of it." |
Quote:
On her way? "Well yes, as soon as you are feeling better you can be on your way, but we do need to discuss what happened in class today as well." He looked at her a moment before placing the tea leaves in the pot. If she didn't want any that was fine, but he did. "My directions were to not charm the portraits and I have a very crabby portrait with a green circle. Care to explain?" |
SPOILER!!: Dundundunnnn Blaise stared at the Professor, really stared at him for several long minutes. He couldn't understand the man's frustration. This was what he'd done in class, this was how he'd gone through the lesson and made the few shapes that he did. Now he'd get detention for doing the same? The wand in his holster? Ah yes, he'd taken it with him, hadn't he? Brown eyes glanced down at it, before rising to the Professor again. What he'd learned in class. Do the charms. Of course. Yes. Right. SuuuuuuuuUUuuUUuure. Blaise pulled his wand, pausing only to flip back a few pages to find the days notes in his notebook before turning to the easel again. "Figura triangle." The boy said the incantation and drew the shape of a triangle but that was about it. The indifference in his voice and the obvious lack of effort were perhaps the most notable features when he cast. Not surprisingly, nothing happened. Nothing ever happened and especially not when he didn't intend anything to. "It didn't work. I can't cast it." |
Quote:
He gestured for him to try again. "You practice and it will come, but you have to allow yourself the time to learn and have the confidence that you can do this." He was more then willing to help the boy succeed if the boy wanted to succeed and would accept the help. |
Quote:
Yep that was it, they were going to the healers now. She stamped her one way ticket to St. Mungos. |
Quote:
"Your first job as body guard is to figure out what charms you would use to protect and go scope out the castle to see what dangers are around that I should be aware of." This way she was studying and getting out of his hair. |
Quote:
In all honesty, he supposed a few casts could have gotten him through what was looking to be a painful meeting but the plain truth was. "I don't want to. I'm done for tonight." Brown eyes locked on the Professor's, his resolve as clear as day. It was just as he'd told the Previous Charms Professor. She'd been understanding enough, the boy saw no problem in clearing the air now as he had done then. It had certainly saved him the trouble last time. Blaise re-holstered his wand before glancing briefly at his quill. They wouldn't be here much longer. "Thank you for the advice Professor. My quill's made proper notes of it and I'll look it over at some point during this week." As he did everything else his quill took down. "I hear the elves are making an extra delicious and nutritious meal tonight. It'll be rude of me to miss it so....." He...would just.....inch his way toward the door now. |
Quote:
She nodded "Alright, I got it.' It was a start to this job she had created for herself. One task at a time. Where to start? When to start? She was already going into Super ninja Kat mod. |
Quote:
Watching the boy he leaned on his desk more and folded his hands. "I bet they are and we still have some time before dinner is over. We can either practice here a bit longer or you can practice in detention for not following classroom rules in the first place." Julien might be going through some personal things lately, but respect and order were going to stay and his classroom and office rules were something he would not let slide. Quote:
"Very good Katerna I think we are done here. You go out and do what you need to do to keep us safe." Plus he was getting a student to study up on more charms. Win for both of them in his eyes. |
Quote:
"But that's what I've been trying to tell you Professor. I didn't not bring my wand to be insubordinate, I didn't bring it because I didn't have plans to be in your class. I don't take Charms." Nevermind that it was compulsory for ALL students. He was sure, by now, that he was some great exception to the rule--him and Daxton of course. "I'm grateful you want to try to give me this 'opportunity' and honestly, mum would probably be too but I don't want to and it won't work because I don't want it to work. I don't like magic. I don't need it." And he didn't need a lecture about his future failures either. The boy had long ago contemplated them on his own. "I don't want to practice here, nor down in the dungeons in detention. Can't we just...call it a night? Please? We can pretend I practiced, you can pretend I got it right and in the morning we can both wake up with a feeling of accomplishment." And he wouldn't allow his Head of House to catch him and take him to this man's class again. See? it was a win-win. What could be better than that? "You don't really want to host a detention tonight, Professor, and I don't really want to be in one. I say we just head for dinner while we still can." Yes? Yes. |
Quote:
Not in his class! "If you do not wish to be a wizard maybe we should owl your mother and get you enrolled into a muggle school." He couldn't see this child's parents being happy. They had him in the best wizarding school there was no way a true wizard would want their child removed for muggle schools. He just couldn't believe what he was hearing. Quite honestly he probably looked a bit taken back as well. "That is a failure for both myself and you if we would do that Blaise. You are not accomplishing anything by not doing the work. The best part of learning and working hard to succeed and seeing your growth and accomplishments. I don't believe any professor would just pretend you did something correctly. I will ask you once more to either do the spells here or we will be practicing in detention." His choice. |
SPOILER!!: *gives up on the charrie* If this 'conversation' taught him nothing else, it now stressed the necessity to NEVER have Professor Airey find him hiding EVER AGAIN. He and Daxton would find new places to hide, they would get better excuses. By all indication Daxton appeared to have gotten to class of his own free will earlier but this would never be the case with him. He did not attend Charms, period. The boy remained silent but there was no hiding the defiant look that crept onto his face. The look faded some, however, at the man's suggestion. Removing him and sending him to a muggle school? "Would you? Would you really??" The faintest gleam of hope flitted into his eyes. "You'll have to be super convincing. Mum won't like the suggestion at first and Dad will be livid but I think together we could really bring the point across." Why had no one else offered him this option? Why had no one else told him this was an option to begin with????????? All they ever said was 'you're a wizard, there's no changing that so deal'. "It's fine; there's plenty things worse than failing. It doesn't bother me, honest." But it was no use, the Professor was insistent on the issue. Just his luck. Blaise's shoulders sunk in resignation. "I told you it won't work and I can't do it. Taking me to detention won't make me magically a better wizard." Professor Baxter hadn't been nearly this up on his case. Merlin's beard give it a rest Sir. |
Quote:
He didn't find failing a bad thing? This was worse then he thought. He wasn't even sure what to do at this point. Did he give the boy detention and force him to try or just owl a meeting with his parents? He really could probably do both. Maybe his parents would like to join him in their child's detention. Watch him practice his spells. The thoughts played in his head as he sat quietly for a moment. "You need to practice the spells here or in detention." That was his two options. |
