The Courtyard is a cloister on the base of the Hogwarts Castle. This cloister seems to be one of the older parts of the castle and the ceiling and walls are dilapidated. Serving as the last area before approaching Hogwart's entrance doors, it also leads to the Wooden Bridge.
In the centre of the courtyard is an antique fountain surrounded by statues of eagles. Perfect for relaxing and making wishes at. Beware, once you toss in a coin, you can never get it back as the water surface sinks deeper and deeper preventing your hand from ever reaching inside to retrieve it. A pear tree also grows in this courtyard, free of worms making it safe to snack from.
There was....an awful lot of loud squeaking going on from the tiny Mr. Blaise...and Airey was understanding precisely 0% of it despite the Gryffindor having his undivided attention at the moment. Although he did think he may have heard a please in there somewhere...maybe?
But any inclination he had had to trying to make out what Mr. Blaise was saying was quickly snuffed out by Mr. Prince's attempt at escape. "DAXTON PRINCE," the astronomer barked paternally at the boy, his wand at the ready to prevent further self dismissal should the need arise. "Back here. NOW."
Consider that the first and final warning.
"What do you mean he knows you are here?" the astronomer gaped at Miss Iver. Meaning...what exactly? Obviously they had not been dismissed? Or hopefully rather? WHY WAS THIS ENTIRE SITUATION SO UTTERLY ABSURD?! "Once we are done here, Miss Iver, I will gladly escort you to see Healer Murdoch." Wait...what had she just said? Infection? What?
The man was still a bit too preoccupied with the tiny Gryffindor between her fingers...but now was also thinking about cranberry juice...
SWEET SOLSTICE COULD JUST ONE OF THEM STAND STILL?!
Oh wait, no, she was moving towards him and....
"MISS IVER! THERE IS AN EXTENSION CHARM IN PLACE ON THAT POCKET!"
SWEET SOLSTICE THEY MAY NEVER FIND BLAISE BELLAIRE AGAIN!
Well, erm....if that was the case then...well... making Herbology the third class, apparently, that the boy was skipping would be the least of his concerns?

Everything was happening so quickly. Airey had only just caught up to them, Daxton was bolting, the new girl was talking about her bladder and and and "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OO!"
HE DID NOT WANT TO GO IN THE POCKET! NO! HOLY KNEAZLE NO! NOOO!
Blaise flailed about wildly, cringing only at Airey's booming words that warned Daxton to come back. He might have tried explaining just what the girl meant when she said the Professor knew they'd gone but see, he was in more pressing danger, the kind that he may never get out of and it was enough to have him kinda....screaming.....very very shrill but tiny screams as he begged.
By some luck, the boy managed to grab hold of the fabric!ledge of the man's pocket. One glance down had told him that he did NOT want to let go.
This was not how this was meant to end. Not in a pocket after having magic forced on him. Sweet Circe. How did this even happen?? The young Gryffindor had to take several breaths to calm down, several DEEPS breaths while he tightened his grip. The only part of him currently visible was his little fingers that clung to the edge of the pocket. After several minutes of deep breathing, the boy made attempts to pull himself up. With a lot of effort, he managed to fling his leg over too but he severely miscalculated the required force and soon found himself once again clinging for dear life so he wouldn't fall.
"Help meeeee!" He didn't want to fall onto the pavement and go SPLAT. Kid should have taken his chances inside the pocket. Chances were, falling wouldn't have hurt so much.

The sound of his name being boomed across the courtyard was enough to tell Daxton that he had, in fact, been detected. No surprise, either; Airey Flamsteed could be annoyingly perceptive at times.
Though instinct told him to keep running, Daxton stopped in his tracks, skidding to a halt on the unevenly paved ground. He had definitely just heard the words Daxton Prince escape Airey Flamsteed's lips. Not Mr. Prince, but Daxton Prince. That alone had been enough to stop him.
Turning to face the group again, having had his back to them only for the necessity of running away (the only time it could ever possibly be okay), Daxton stood where he was, a little unsure of what to do next. He did not wish to return to class willingly, but the idea of being caught and forced to return was equally unpleasant. He watched the group - which from here looked more like a pair - uncertainly.
Even from where he was he could hear the strange conversation between Airey Flamsteed and the Iver girl, could see that the professor had his wand drawn, could make out the tiny high-pitched screams from Blaise Bellaire. He watched from afar, taking a half step closer, and then another, very very slowly so that he was technically obeying the order to return. But then, there was some sort of commotion, accompanied by yells and screams that were clearly from both the professor and Blaise, and Iver was attempting to make a quick exit too.
Taking advantage of the moment of disorder, and glimpsing another opportunity, Daxton made a second attempt at slipping away, darting for the doors whilst he still had the chance.
There would be time later, one might reason, to explain that they had indeed gone to Herbology and Professor Myers did know that they were no longer there. But that explanation was far from coming because in a split second, Nicky's eyes had grown wide as she froze in her side-stepping of the professor.
"WHAT?" she exclaimed, betraying a small amount of panic. "WHY would you do that to a piece of CLOTHING!" She gaped at the professor, a flash of worry that she'd just effectively killed a child was bright in her eyes. "This is not my fault. No." She shook her head from side to side, not at all noticing that Blaise's tiny fingers were poking over the edge of the fabric and that he was climbing out. "Insane. Not my fault. This place is.. no. No no no.." She took a few steps back away from the man, no longer able to process what was happening.
As Daxton ran off, again, toward the door, Nicky found herself stumbling back toward the grounds in the opposite direction, hand pressed to her head.
Escape was not a motive, here.
Nicky Iver was in shock.

Granted she hardly ever asked for anything but still James would get the point. She ALWAYS worked hard. Gave everything 110% all the time. "I really hope so."
What? Hadleigh looked at him with a look of puzzlement clearly written all over her face. Extend congratulations...to her? Why? "I- for what Sir?" she asked quietly chewing on the inside of her cheek in thought. What had she done?!
"You have nothing to worry about," he knew just as well as anyone, if not better, how competitive universities and training programs were for these things. But there was much to say about the sixth year's academics as well as her drive. It was clear that she wanted this. Something he had lacked when at Hogwarts. James knew the flip side to it and well, she was doing everything to guarantee that she didn't end up like James had. Which only meant good things.
Her confusion in response to his congratulations made his grin widen even further, this time in slight amusement. "We're sent a copy of exam scores for record keeping," so although they were administered under a different department entirely, he still got to see the results. Did she get it now? "I wasn't at all surprised," he nodded. So pretty much, "Congratulations, very well deserved."

How could he be so sure about that, when she wasn't sure at all? "How do you know that Professor?" There was always someone out there more deserving, smarter, stronger, more driven for the same things she was. And right now she had no clue whatsoever which Uni she even wanted to attend. Every time she completed one thing another popped up to take it's place. There was a never ending cycle of decisions to be made now that she was growing up and none of them were easy anymore.
Her confusion was only met with a larger grin from the Professor which only served in confusing her further. What was this about?
And then Draper went and said that. Exam scores. HER exam scores. Which meant he knew what she had gotten...each and every single result. Including the one that still made her cringe just thinking about it. However, he wasn't speaking about that lesson specifically thank goodness. "Thank you, Professor. I studied all term for those exams," Hady told him honestly. That part was no secret to anyone, everyone knew how much she studied all term for every lesson. She had busted her butt to get those grades.

Azura looked at the drawing for a moment longer before the Head girl put it down and Azura looked over at the other girl as she turned to face her a bit.. Her question.. while simple, caught Azura off guard, she knew that all of the Professors knew about her mother's passing, and so she thought that the Head girl, might know about it too.. But.. Though.. she couldn't just shrug off that question. It was smart and people couldn't dodge it. Azura made a mental note to use it sometime, but.. right now.. She had to think.
"Mmmm, this term has been a bit hard for me, I'm just trying to.. keep my head above water." She said softly as she looked down at her hands.. That was the truth..

"It's not that many." Actually, it was just half the amount of what he usually carried around with him. "It looks like a lot...." Harriet mused, as she tilted her head and looked at the boy. She was kind of wondering what a many would look like if that wasn't many. He must have had a big bag to fit all of those into there. Maybe she needed to bring a different bag so that she could fit all of her books into it. She wanted to be prepared. "Uh... does that happen a lot around here?" Because it was a school surely people didn't get lost that often. Though she had gotten lost herself. But she was only a first year, so that was okay. She didn't know her way around yet.
She giggled a little as he kissed her hand. That was new, but she kind of liked it. Nobody had ever done that for her before. "Oooh. Fancy!" She mused, still smiling. "My brother is a prefect too"

OH SWEET SOLSTICE!
Distracted by the tiny Mr. Blaise in mortal peril, Airey was unable to do anything to prevent Mr. Prince's second attempt at escape. Gone, but certainly not forgotten, the Ravenclaw had evaded the wrath of THE VEIN temporarily.
After flapping about like a bird trying to take off for a few moments, the Astronomy professor cupped his hand under Mr. Blaise and slowly lifted it until the Gryffindor's feet were touching the palm of his hand.
And OF COURSE before he could ask the young man precisely what had happened and just HOW he had landed himself in this situation - although he was in the middle of accomplishing this task as he was lifting said palm up towards his ear so he could actually hear what the Gryffindor was saying - Miss Iver was attempting to reprimand him over his stellar charms work of astronomical convenience.
"Because it's ----" he began in retort...until he saw something. Sweet solstice. Sweeeeeeeeeeeet solstice. How could he have missed all of THAT. Well...no...there was a perfectly good reason as to why he missed all that. Primary reason being the tiny Gryffindor in his hand. ONE PROBLEM AT A TIME, PLEASE, HOGWARTS! GOOD MERLIN. "WHY, Miss Iver, would you do all THAT to your uniform? You are welcome to sport your Castelobruxo crest on your school bag, but NOT on your Hogwarts robes."
His wand was already out...so it was very tempting to just...oh so casually...remove it...and perhaps he would have done just that and unceremoniously handed it to her...were it not for other things...
Er...all that...other things...
.............and the tiny Mr. Blaise.
"NOR is the...length of your...some of....er...other garments...within regulation...." The shoes...while also against regulation, were the least of his concerns at the moment. That...and he only kind of sort of took notice because he was trying his darnedest NOT to look. "Skipping class...and at least three uniform violations...that will be 15 points from Ravenclaw."
He looked down at Mr. Blaise in his hand. "That will be 10 from Gryffindor as well for walking out on class AND ANOTHER 10 FROM RAVENCLAW FOR MR. PRINCE'S DOING THE SAME AND 5 ADDITIONAL FOR RUNNING AWAY FROM RESPONSIBILITY AND FAILURE TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS!"
You hear that?! Wherever you just ran off to, Mr. Prince.

Let's all pretend Dani wasn't too lazy to grab all the quotes
Finally, his feet were back on some solid ground and he was no longer in immediate danger of going splat. The boy's legs shook noticeably as he tried to compose himself. If he'd known he would have several near death experiences after leaving the Greenshouse, the Gryffindor might have considered sitting and listening to the words of the Ravenclaw Prefect.
Blaise was just shy of asking to be put down when his head of House...essentially....lost it. There were points being taken off left, right and centre without so much as a fair hearing or some form of explanation.
"But Professor!" The 13 year old began waving his arms about wildly in an attempt to gain the man's attention--you know, in case the tiny and thus shrill voice didn't do the trick. From this proximity, however, he was more confident the man would be able to make out what he was saying than when the boy was in the new girl's possession.
"It's fine! Honest! I swear. I know I skip a lot--so does Daxton," No vouching for you though new girl, he barely knew her, "but it's fine. Professor Myers saw us walk out, he was perfectly fine with it. Ask him if you don't believe me. I swear it wasn't a problem and he went right back to the lesson like it was nothing--didn't even TELL ME I'd drunk some spiked tea or warn me to be careful on my way back across the grounds. Just let us go." All true which gave him that extra bit of confidence here. If the Professor hadn't wanted them to leave, he could have said so and the boy would have stayed, but he didn't.
"I was being helpful. See, Rooney said I make it hard for him to learn whenever I'm in the room on account of me not being able to really do magic. I was making sure at least one of us was able to get an education. It'd be selfish to stay when I'm getting in the way of someone else--the Professor didn't even tell him how impossible it was, just said he was mean for saying it. You can be mean and truthful and it must be true because why wouldn't Professor Myers correct him otherwise, y'know? So," He shrugged, finally coming to the end of his story, "yeah."

It was OCTOBER which could only mean ONE thing. Halloween. As far as Halloween went, there was no greater a tradition than carving pumpkins. Kaycee decided that there needed to be more of that done.
So she was going to do something about it.
She laid out a tarp in the middle of the courtyard. Hopefully nobody actually wanted to go anywhere today. Heh. She was not going to apologize about being in the way.
Upon the tarp she laid out various sized pumpkins and several large spoons.
Now to carve pumpkins. She could totally pass this off as a tutoring session too. Practice your charms. Carve a pumpkin.
Now she just needed people.

Stretching his legs Julien decided to head out on the grounds for some fresh air. It was starting to get colder, but the students seemed to still enjoy being out of the castle and so did he. As he walked towards the courtyard he thought about his schedule for the rest of the month. Did he have a chance to pop home to see Juni in her costume this Halloween? He knew they'd have a feast here, but maybe? He'd even work it out to go just for a half hour or so that way others could do the same.
Turning to head into the courtyard he stopped and noticed a tarp and pumpkins. Was Justin planning something? He noticed the lion prefect around them and smiled a little, "Pumpkin carving?" Something he liked to do with his own children. "You've gotten permission I hope to take up this space." If not maybe he'd let it slide for just this once if she promised to clean up the mess that was going to happen.
"May I help carve one?" Or even two, he felt festive today.

Miranda had heard something about a fun activity going on out in the courtyard. It being Halloween she was very interested in seeing what it was. When she came out to the courtyard she saw someone had laid out stuff for pumpkin carving. Ooooh! she loved to carve pumpkins! she skipped over to where everything was spread out. 'hi..." she asked, " Can I carve one too? Halloween is my favourite holiday." she notice Professor Primeaux.
" Oh hello, Professor... "
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.

It was a nice fall day out today. Torrance couldn't pass up the nice day. Not even a little. So he made his way outside. As he marched to the Courtyard he noticed that his Uncle Julien was out. He paused for a second and just took in the whole scene that was taking place. Uncle Julien seemed to be looming over his House Prefect and she was carving pumpkins. He was also in the middle of lecturing her no doubt. Uncle Julien liked to Lecture.
Then followed one more girl. He recognized her from earlier when he tested the bounce off the Tree House.
right anyways....Torrance was feeling festive
He began to slowly creep up on his Uncle. He wasn't sure if this was going to work, but nothing was stopping him now. He was stalking behind the Charms Professor like a Lion about to pounce on it's prey. Once he reached just behind his back Torrance Jumped up! and latched onto his Terrifying Uncle's back! "SPOOKY SCARY SKELETONS SEND SHIVERS DOWN YOUR SPINE!!" He half yelled half sang! He was no doubt scaring his Uncle for the first time ever!

Pulling his nephew from his back he turned to look at him with his wand still raised to unfreeze the child if he hadn't duked out of the way of the spell. He really didn't mean to freeze a student let alone one of his nephews, but the child really needed to learn manners.
Noticing another student who had come up to carve pumpkins, Julien nodded "Hello Miranda, Prefect Kaycee seems to have made a very nice pumpkin carving activity for others to join in today." He hoped more students would come around. Maybe they could charm the pumpkins to hang around the castle.
First though what was he going to do with his nephew.

"May I help carve one?" Or even two, he felt festive today.
Kaycee grinned. "Yup. One of the glorious October traditions." She looked proudly at her layout then glanced back at the Professor. Permission? Pfft. It's not like she was throwing a wild party. This was a wholesome activity.
"It'll be fine. Everyone will work on the tarp and there's zero cleanup required."

BLINK. BLINKblinkBLINK. Or there could be things like this that could cause problems.
But hey. That sounded like a shout of for having a great idea. So she'd let this situation slide. How much problems could an immobilized relative cause?

IMMOBU-WHAAAA?! Torrance did not like the sound of that nor the Wand reached around and pointed at him. he clung tightly to his Uncle's back for Protection and Safety, ironically from the man who had intent to harm him. then dropped and rolled away from a now reaching arm after he realized where the spell had come from.
Thank Merlin for Dueling Club and those Dueling Dummies. "100 Points from Professors!" Torrance yelled actually sorta peeved that his Uncle tried to hit him with a spell. He rolled back upright and sat crisscross applesauce, then huffed.
"Just trying to have some Pre-Halloween Fun. I got Uncle Saul with that all the time." Mind you that Uncle was a Former MLE employee and currently a Private Eye. So...now that he thought about it, He got pretty damn easy with Uncle Saul.
He stood up from his spot and still stink eyed his Uncle, but stood beside the familiar man none-the-less. "Can I carve some pumpkins too?"

She was so excited that she started to walk away before the professor had a chance to answer her. She couldn't beileve it. She had to thank the beautiful day for forcing her outside today , Otherwise she may have missed this chance to not only have a blast but maybe even learn something useful to so her younger siblings.

Did Torrance just say he was taking points? Julien looked at him a little amused, "You do not jump on a professor like that nor do you scare someone that is holding their wand. I should take points from your house of give you detention." He wasn't fuming and was actually calm, though his face showed how serious he was. "Your uncle Saul isn't at school with a bunch of children either. Here we have rules for a reason. I will never see you do that to anyone again or I will personally make sure a detention and an owl home to grandpa happens."
Turning back to the Kaycee he nodded, "Sorry for that. Torrance was just a bit excited it seems to start carving. Why don't you pick a pumpkin Torrance and find a place." He'd be watching him. No need to have any more issues.
Looking and seeing another student Julien picked his own pumpkin. "Good Day Miranda, do you know the cutting spell to use?" He lifted his wand and started carving the top of the pumpkin. Glancing over at the spoons he wondered if the students would use those or the vanishing spell. "If you are scooping the seeds out you might want to save them and give them to the elves. They could roast them for us." Roasted pumpkin seeds sounded very good at the moment.
Prince.

That weasley little.... Nicky looked off in the direction that Daxton had run. With him gone, there was far less opportunity for her to just... walk off, especially now that Blaise was safe and not lost in the depths of Flamsteed's questionable sartorial choices.
It was then that she actually heard what the professor was saying. Oh.. oh no... oh no he did not just... Fire flashing in her eyes, Nicky opened her mouth to speak when she heard the squeaking from the teeny boy in Flamsteed's hand. She couldn't quite make it out but she figured she'd let the boy get his piece in, since he was likely just as worked up as she was.
"Hit me for the uniform, whatever," she started, not super bothered. He could take five points every time he saw the crest for all she cared. It wasn't coming off.
"But I did go to Herbology. And when I realized what a joke of a class it was, I left and I'll be taking it off my schedule, as I understand I'm permitted to do as a sixth year." Point the first. She looked Flamsteed square in the face, not at all intimidated by his status as a professor. "And you all should get consistent on what is or is not permitted, because clearly Professor Myers didn't have issue with what I'm wearing. Though, I suppose that might have had something to do with that ball gown he was wearing." Point the second.
Nicky crossed her arms over her chest and sucked on her teeth, her eyes flitting back down to the shrunken student briefly. "And since I can't be skipping a class I'm not taking, and you have a small problem on your hands,"- literally - "I'll be headed back inside." Point the third.

Art was just out for a stroll, when he came across a group of people. Students and Professors. Well, ProfessoR. And a tarp. So he couldn't very well... get to the bridge. But that didn't matter, it seemed like something fun was going on.
A little closer he came and saw that there were pumpkins there. They were carving pumpkins? Art chuckled, happy to see this activity, happy to see that he had stumbled onto it. "Hello there Miss Richards, Professor Primeaux, Mr Spades... and, oh, hello there Miss Blaze! How-how are you all?" he looked back down to the tarp, and the pumpkins. "A-are we carving pumpkins? D-do you have one to spare for me to try out? I-I've n-never tried pumpkin carving." Nope.

Miranda watched her professor using the cutting charm on his pumpkin. She had clearly not been paying attention at home. Something her mother was really none too happy with, but nevermind that. " Could you show me that again, Professor Primeaux?' she asked. She wanted to be able to use proper technique and who better to learn from really...

She didn't know her way around yet.
She giggled a little as he kissed her hand. That was new, but she kind of liked it. Nobody had ever done that for her before. "Oooh. Fancy!" She mused, still smiling. "My brother is a prefect too"
Rooney nodded, because he knew that her brother was a prefect as soon as she said her surname. Well, either that...or it was a small world with similar surnames. Super amounts of small worlds, definitely. "I'm aware." There weren't many people in the school that were Prefects. Really, there weren't. So it was logical that Rooney knew who was who. It was kind of his job. As a Rooney, not a Prefect. Rooney's knew who people were and what people were doing and why people were doing things and they also kissed the hands of girls. It wasn't like they had to be pretty for him to do that. He just liked to kiss hands.

Or the spell could miss. Heh. Kaycee looked between the two before nodding. "Yes. Of course." she said nodding at the boy. "Feel free to choose one." Preferably near the Professor. Yes. Do that, please.

Because she was NOT cleaning up after him.
And with that, Kaycee took a seat at the front of the tarp. She still wanted to be able to greet anyone that was interested in carving one, but she wanted to carve one too. She slid one of the pumpkins over and spun it around on the tarp. Now. What to carve?

True story.
Bentley poked the area between Olivia's eyes in an attempt to make her relax her face. If it was transfiguration she needed help with he could more than help her with that. Countless lessons with his grandmother before starting Hogwarts, meant he started with a bit more knowledge than most.
Sophia Bellaire did not trust the education of her grandchild to Professors she didn't know about.
"No problem Livvy. I'll help you."

"Hard work doesn't go unnoticed, Miss Lynch," and if the sixth year put even half as much of this effort into her others lessons, she was fine. After all, the only thing that had held him back when he had been in the same position was the lack of this same hard work and motivation.
He acknowledged her next response with only a firm nod. He had given way too many compliments at this point and if he kept this up people may start calling him the 'nice professor' and he had a reputation to uphold here. So this was about where it ended. Though he was sure the sixth year knew what his silent acknowledgement meant.
