Following that feast you're welcomed back through the Dungeons to the Slytherin common room. You're greeted with the usual well-lit while dark environment and decorations that is fitting for snakes. To the side of the common room is a makeshift campfire setting with plenty of seats and tents for the visual effect. One of the seats is occupied by your fellow Groundskeeper and Head Mr. McLeod. For those still not quite full from the feast there are plenty of bowls with ice cream and snake-shaped gummy worms to the side. Not only that but also plates filled with marshmellows, graham crackers and chocolate. You guessed it, ingredients for making s'mores. What better way to relax and mingle before retiring off to bed?
OOC: This thread will run for approximately 3-4 days, possibly more depending on the amount of fun displayed here. The rest of the threads will open right after within the week.

Echo made her way into the common room, and was werid to think that she was the first person there. wait scratch that Mr. McLeod was there. "Hi Sir" she said while noticing snake gummy worms! what more sugar! she was trying to stay away from as much sugar as possible this girl had to try to keep her figure.
But they were her favorite and she could have at least 3 right? picking the ones she wanted carefully she looked around, yup still no one. great. "how was your summer?" she might as well ask him because standing there in silence for her was not an option.

The feast had been rather calm this term and that had been a large change from the opening and closing ones of last term. Hady had managed to eat the food that had been put on her plate this time which had been a small blessing in itself as she had been starving!
Following her fellow snakes up to their common room was the normal and nothing out of place over the years. It was when she stepped foot inside that stopped her where she was for the slightly of seconds. A campfire, tents and even more sweets. It was heaven and normally would've went straight for the gummy snakes and ice cream however she didn't. This sixth year was being extra careful about what she ate and drank this term as advised by Professor Ichihara for her animagus training, eat right and lots of exercise. There would be no messing up now that things were getting closer.
So it was with a small sigh that she bypassed all the goodies and took a seat by the campfire. "Hello Sir, nice set up you have here," Hady commented with a light smile. "Hey Echo, feeling better?" Just checking on a fellow friend while coaching herself to not look at the snack foods...maybe later she could have something. Just one.

Dante was tired from the feast and just wanted to go to bed. He went to the Gryffindor table the majority of the feast and now let him tell you. THAT was a big mistake because they are crazy. Well not all of them. But put them all together with Airey and well it was madness. He was happy when he it was finally over and he had eaten,
But now what was going on. Please don't tell him they were having another one of those meetings because he hated those. Pointless things. But it seemed like they were going to go do camping in the common room. Which is a weird but alright idea. As long as there is food and there seems to do. Don't mind if he does. Dante walked over and popped some snake-shaped gummy worms in his mouth. Ah, Mcleod was here plus Hady and Echo. He was early. Dungbombs, he did not like being early.
"Not bad Sir, Not bad at all"
Dante said addressing McLeod on this camp thing. Now where all the chairs the same or where some more comfortable than others because Dante only wanted the best chair. It was a matter of preference.
"Hady..Echo. You two have a good summer"
He asked popping the last of the snake gummies he got from the food table. He will be back for more later.

The Slytherin Common Room was pretty dark and creepy, unlike what her mum and dad have said about the towers for Ravenclaw and Gryffindor.
Vivi peeked inside the room because... well, she just sort of wanted to wander around and get to know the place more. Though that sounded like an incredibly fun idea to map the castle, she was sure she would get lost in the process anyway. Not that it mattered, Vivi loved adventure and there was no real essence of such if she didn't lose herself at one point.
Oh... OH. What a place. Vivi kinda liked how the lights were so... mysterious. And pretty too, she had to point out. She saw a small group of older students here. GAAASP she was so lost, and so tiny compared to them. Vivi shuffled as she went closer to them. Awkward, sort of. Maybe this was really how it was for firsties? Be awkward at school for the first week and start flicking marshmallows at other students in the days after?
Vivi looked at the man sitting down (Mr. McLeod). He looked older than the rest. HUH, that's weird. "Hi! Aren't you a liiiil bit too old to be going to school?" Vivi said casually as she took a seat beside him and wiggled on her seat. Well, no harm done. It was just a mere observation.
But her attention was taken by those MARSHMALLOWS. The blonde's eyes widened and so did the smile on her face. YAAAAAASSSSS.

Echo was so happy when people started to arrive and even more thankful when it was Hady. A huge smile on her face she replied. "yeah im a lot better, i just cant believe that happened. my knee still kind of hurts maybe i'll go see the healer tomorrow if its not better?" she told her friend while she crept over to the fire and laid down on her back, hair sprawled everywhere with two gummy snakes remaining. Putting another in her mouth she crossed her legs in the air and placed them on the closest chair.
Hey it was her common room, and she was going to get comfortable. "I felt like I ate everything in sight up there?" patting her belly. "but i just couldn't resist these gummy snakes" so yummy.

Seeing more coming in she spotted Dante!! her face lit up, he was always so nice to her. turning her head on the carpet she pointed her last gummy snake at him!! "Dante!!" she smiled while moving her feet on the chair. "mine wasnt note worthy, but its good to see you? how was yours?" why did her summer had to go so badly.
if she could totally erase the summer that just happened she would have.

Spotting a younger snake come in she moved her head and followed her to go sit beside their head of house. "good luck" she thought while hearing her ask him that he was too old to be here... her mouth dropped. laughing out loud she snorted. "AHAHAHAHHA *SNORT* her face went blank and she laughed even harder, almost choking on her gummy snake that she had in her mouth.

Crossing her feet at the ankles she stretched her legs out in front of her, careful still not to trip anyone. "That's good but yeah definitely take a trip to the healers if it's not better in the morning." Rather be safe the sorry. Wiggling a little in her chair to get comfortable Hady laughed in amusement as a ball of fluff darted throughost the common room, around those standing around and leaped right up onto her lap. "Hello Hagan," She greeted her cat smoothing his fur. Her gaze shifting back onto Echo as she laid on the floor. At least she was comfortable. "I ate a bit not to much." Not the things she had wanted to eat anyhow.
Hearing her name fall from someone else's lips she turned in her seat to greet the voice she knew. "Hey Dante. I did, how was yours?" Most of her friends knew where she had been all summer but there was a few that didn't. Oddly enough she couldn't recall if he was one of those that knew about her being in Ireland or not.
Before she could comment on her amazing break and her father's wedding their small group was joined by another. A much smaller girl. Hady couldn't help but grin at the kids amazed face and then there was what the small child said to Mr. McLeod. Oh my gosh was it funny!
Trying to keep a straight face and not bust up laughing she looked at Vivi. "He's our Head of House, Mr. Mcleod," She whispered softly in correction. As funny as this was she was sure the kid wold be embarrassed in a few momen's but it happened.

Ariadne Greingoth was nowhere near tired or ready to settle down anytime soon. She was full from the feast and didn't even want to look at the tasty treats in the common room, but she was more than ready to visit with her friends some more before heading to bed. "HEY, ECHO! HADY! DANTE! VIVIAN!" she exclaimed. Yeah. The second year was a little too excited to be back at Hogwarts. She'd worry about missing her family later on.
So where was their Head of House? Ariadne had heard they had a change in their Head, and she was a little confused as to why she was just now hearing about this. She figured it had something to do with Healer Murdoch giving birth to twins, and if that was the case, she didn't blame the woman.
Speaking of their Head of House, Ariadne finally caught sight of the groundskeeper seated nearby. "HI, MR. MCLEOD! How's the grounds coming along?" she asked.

While awaiting the arrivals, Justin already began to stack a few marshmellows onto a stick before dangling it above the small contained flames. He hummed a little tune in the meantime, just as he could hear some of the stone walls move, signalling the entry of the snakes. He turned his head to look over at the students entering.

Big grin for this little first year. Cute. "Ohohoo, aren't you bright?" No sarcasm here as he merely chuckled. Did she already forget him guiding the group to the castle and the speech? It was cool as the firstie bunch were always so excited the first night and he didn't even need to correct her thanks to one of the other girls.
"That's right. I was a Slytherin student here waay back and returned as Groundskeeper now serving as the house's Head." Just a little brief intro there before noticing her look at the treats. "Would you like some Miss Fairfield? They're free to eat all thanks to the good behavior displayed earlier."

"Ah Miss Greingoth, good to see you. The grounds are looking quite nice and fresh." Perfect for a venture out tomorrow. "Have you been keeping up your gobstones training?" She was a previous Player of the match, yes?
And with that Mr. McLeod could detect a whiff of light burning. Oops. "YOWZA!" Blowing out the flame the marshmellows leftover were all burnt and charred. "Ahaha, oh well." He went to replace them. This time they would be good.
Who could say no to ice cream right before bed? Not Song Jaemin, that was for sure. The small Slytherin zoomed his way into the common room, already feeling rather celebratory that he'd made it through a feast without someone throwing food, making it rain, or dropping glue on everyone and everything. Was this what it was supposed to be like?! Hopefully the trend continued in this way, rather than the way it had gone last year.
The diminutive Slytherin boy made a beeline for the ice cream, scooping up a bowl (and maybe stealing a few more gummy worms) before making his way for a seat riiiiiight next to his new Head of House. Because he had questions. He looked up at the man expectantly and held out a gummy worm, in case he wanted one too.

Huh... Why was she laughing? Vivian squinted at the older snake? But but... there was no harm done! She tilted her head at the girl. "Uhm, hi," Vivi said, but still her head was tilted to the side. "What... what's wrong?" She was still so lost. Someone explain to her??? Anyone?

It looked like Mr. Old Student didn't really seem to... mind? Oh well. That was good perhaps! Vivi was kind of relieved for one moment and kept wiggling on her seat until another older student who was trying not to laugh - she kinda looked constipated, Vivi thought - told her that the older dude was actually...
GASP.
The color on Vivi's face sort of drained. She stared at the older girl and then to the man who apparently her HEAD OF HOUSE, for Merlin's sake! "I'm so sorry, Sir," the blonde said as her lower lip quivered a little bit. Scary! Look at her making a fool of herself on her first NIGHT at Hogwarts! It was a good thing her Head of House wasn't a freakin' chimaera and didn't plan on deducting points or eating her alive at the very moment. She also looked at the older girl again. "Thank you." A small scared smile for you, Miss!
Someone save her.

Merlin was good! Vivian was desperately searching for someone to direct her attention too. It was so embarrassing, she thought. It was definitely more than GREAT to finally see Ariadne join them! Vivi bounced on her seat as she save her saviour friend. "HI ARIADNE!" Now... come here and save me? Desperate Vivian was desperate.
The blonde slowly took a marshmallow and stuffed it in her mouth. Omnomnom. At least she wouldn't have to keep talking now and saying all the crazy things in her head. She had to stop. NOMNOM.

Kye had finished at the Feast, wishing she felt this good after every meal. Yea sure someone threw up almost right in front of her, but you know what? She had made it to Hogwarts, she was a Slytherin, and she was just so happy to be here.
She followed others at her table until she arrived at the Slytherin Common Room. Her parents always told her stories about some students they knew who were stuck in the halls at night because they had forgotten a password or were to tired to think of the answer to the door's riddle in Ravenclaw's case.
Upon entering the room, Kye noticed a glint of green near the fire. Wonderingly, she focused in that direction and heard the small meow of her kitten Edie, who had been apparently waiting for her down here. Kye's heart melted. Welcoming the kitten into her arms, Kye noticed that there was dessert spread around the room for them all. Seriously?? Did they just know? Was it a trick of some sort for the first years? She scanned the room to see if anyone else was grabbing ice cream or s'mores from this strangely campy feeling place.
Deciding whether she wanted one s'more or two, Kye noticed a man from the staff table sitting in a chair. It wasn't too hard to realize who he was... after watching Vivi speak with him. Oops!
Kye, now carrying a meowing Edie, headed towards the Head of Slytherin. She remembered Ariadne saying her mother was a teacher here before as well. Kye took a seat and gave Mr. McLeod a nod. "Hello, I'm Kye Atwater, pleasure to meet you, Sir," she greeted. Well she might as well get to know the guy right? He could be detrimental to her advancement in something later on, and it never hurt to have a decent first impression...
Kye scanned the room once more before deciding to join in the festivities. She loved the snakes on the ice cream. She ate those first. She tried to eat calmly, as much as she wanted to slurp down that ice cream, because Edie was trying to lay comfortably on her lap and she rather enjoyed the company of her cat.

Making her way down to the common room, Brooklyn had taken her time. Simply because she could, not for any real reason. She wasn’t a first year, so she hardly needed instructions as to how to get inside. It wasn’t as if she had a lot to consider, either, aside from if she was going to have to at least attend one Divination lesson to see what that new professor was like. That would be awkward, though, considering she’d basically dropped the subject a few terms ago. It was a dilemma, since she usually got them all on her side. Either way, that could wait. Aside from the new professors and the animagus Headmaster, practically nothing had happened at the feast which was definitely new. It was Hogwarts, so that meant something would happen.
She just felt like she wanted to know when. Surprises weren’t her favorite, not when they usually involved acromantula attacks or poltergeists watching her sleep. She didn’t trust the calm, but she still felt like the common room was home. Even when there was suddenly a campfire inside, along with all the trappings of a camping trip. That was odd, but then, their new Head of House was the groundskeeper, so she figured it was a comfort thing. “Mr. McLeod,” she said, inclining her head toward him slightly and giving him a faint smile before going over to investigate the snacks. About all that really tempted her was the gummy snakes, and even then not much.
Instead, she retrieved a sugar quill from her bag, making her way to a seat near Hady. Giving Dante a nod as well, although she hadn’t forgotten his hug threat from the end of term feast. No hugs please.

"Hello Ariadne," Hadleigh greeted in return to the excited shout of her name. These little firsties and second years were the cutest with all their happy bubbliness. It always made her smile seeing them having the time of their young lives and it didn't matter that she was only a few years older then them.
"I am Sir, I've studied some over the summer. I think we have a really good chance this term." Those that played Gobstones were good at it. Running her fingers through Hagan's fire she cast another smile at Mr. McLeod before looking at the little camp fire. Whatever this term held in store for her she was sure it was bond to be interesting.
Her attention was on the flames of the fire but out of the corner of her eye she saw a small boy seat himself beside their Head of House. Vaguely recalling him from last year she shifted her attention to the boy briefly (Jaemin) giving him a nod of her head in greeting before she looked back at little Vivi. Sadly she had been correct, the poor child's lip quivered upon being told whom she had spoken to. Hady offered her a smoothing smile, "You're welcome. Us snakes do tend to stick together." They may not always be the nicest bunch but they did have one another's backs. "I'm Hady by the way, if you ever need anything just ask," the brunette added a moment later as an afterthought.
It didn't take long as a few others (Kye and Brooklyn) entered the common room. Each earning a slight grin and nod of her head. "Hey, how was your summer?" she asked Brooklyn as the fellow sixth year took a seat close by.

After the feast it was time to see the common room. It was crowded with slytherin students. Demean wondered where was Elsa, but while scanning the room he saw Kye having some slythering themed ice cream. ICE-CREAAAAAM, he thought. Time for desert!
Seems like they were not short of interesting first years this term either. Considering this one just asked if our Head of House was a student (Vivi) or that he looked like one. Anyway he was going to point out that he was their Head of House but Hady had just did. "Welcome to Slytherin First..." Oh wait McLeod was here. "What your name?" And please Echo it was summer something noteworthy had to happen. Even if was only of a second. Oh well it not like she had just taken OWLs and has happy not to study for them ever again.
"Mine was good visited, some graduated friends and my brother. Come on something noteworthy had to happen. Even if it was only one thing." It was good to hear Hady's summer was good. "That's good travel anywhere and how where those OWL grades?" Now he hears his name yelled. Ah it was the fitstie...oh wait not anymore. She was a second year now."Ariadne" Dante said smiling and nodding at her. "You have a good summer" Hmm...McLeod had a point. They were slytherin so they had to have the best. It was just a fact. "Don't mention it Sir,. I figure we are making smore's later?" Dante asked pointing at the food table. There was some more people coming in that Dante did not recognize so he just ignored them for now.
But that stopped when Brooklyn came in.
You know if Hugo still did not have a girlfriend by like the middle of this year. Brooklyn might be a good option. You never know. He did not think she had a boyfriend. But who knows. And he was still serious about that hug if she ever wanted it. He did give good hugs if anyone was asking. He smiled and nodded back to her. They were going to talk this semester just not right now with soo many people.

Friendly older snakey was friendly. Vivian smiled at the other girl. At least she didn't seem to rub it on her face on how awkward the entire thing was. Gosh. Not that Vivi cared, but it was a different case because it was her Head of House. "Is that how Slytherin is?" she asked. Her mum and dad didn't know much about that anyway. They were in Ravenclaw and Gryffindor respectively. Well, it was COOL. Vivi started warming up to her house. Yay!
Oh right. Introduction stuff. "Nice to meet you, Miss Hady. My name is Vivian," the blonde replied and beamed at the older snake. "I think you're really pretty." It was an observation, and she thought Miss Hady needed to know that too. Vivi batted her eyelashes at her.

OOOH another Snakey! Vivi looked at the older boy this time and grinned at him, totally forgetting how awkward everything was. Besides, she didn't want to let such a tiny incident ruin her first night anyway. Maybe it was time to be a little friendly and stuff. "Thank you," she replied. She was liking this House so far! "My name is Vivian. What about you?" What be your naaaame, Sir OlderSnake?

Hady and Dante (And I seriously cracked up at Dante's thoughts regarding her)
Shoe!Girl │ Rebel Ravie │ Confundus Queen │ RP Addict
The fact that the conversations had seemed to continue on around her had hardly bothered Brooklyn. It wasn’t her fault the new students didn’t know the way she worked, and it wasn’t her job to teach them. Besides, given the fact it seemed the little first year had thought their head of house was a student seemed to prove that there were more things to worry about than the way they treated her. Like possible points loss for saying things like that. Perhaps there actually were things she ought to teach them, but seeing as nobody had asked she wasn’t about to offer.
Instead, she gave Hady another slight nod and smile as her friend had acknowledged her, lowering her sugar quill as she contemplated the answer to the question. “My summer was okay. I mostly studied ballet and took more violin lessons,” translated as she hadn’t done anything noteworthy, “Although I did go to Miami with Kali, Oliver and Hugo once.” She’d shrugged slightly after that announcement, not considering it particularly something to merit attention. Just a summer trip, and it wasn’t like anything had happened.
She had gone back to her sugar quill by the time she’d noticed Dante’s acknowledgment of her earlier semi-greeting, watching him speculatively as he’d seemed like he was analyzing her. She didn’t know why, but it seemed suspicious. Thankfully he hadn’t chosen to suggest hugs again, just sticking with the smile and nod. It saved her from having to politely, or maybe not so politely, decline.

After the feast was over - which he always looked forward to, for eating in the crowded Great Hall and listening to the speech and having to sit there until they were dismissed seemed to make him more uncomfortable every year - Dalton hurried down the stairs to the Dungeons, pausing only to visit a bathroom on the way down. He approached the wall that was the Slytherins entrance just after someone who'd listened for the password, and was glad that he didn't have to wait around, instead just passing through and making a mental note of it.
The usual beginning of term celebrations were happening in the Common Room, and it took some effort for the fifteen year old not to roll his eyes, instead focusing on the other side of the room and the passage to his dormitory.

Trying to hold back the laughter Echo had to look the other way, if she kept laughing. ”yeah I ate to much too” she told Hady while still looking the other way, the young snake that had made her snort for some reason she couldn’t help but think she was funny.
”I could always eat more, but gummy snakes how I love you!” she ate the very last of her gummy snake, now debating on if she needs to get up and get more…. Should she or shouldn’t she.

HADY!
Ohh now there was a familiar face! ARI!!! ”hey girl!!!” she smiled at the younger snakette. ”did you enjoy the feast, im pretty sure I saw a house elf up near the professors when we started eating.”

"Well hello there Miss Duchannes, my summer was excellent and yours?"
"Why thank you, Miss Lynch." Returning the smile. "Keeping up your training with gobstones?" She was usually one of the team's regulars and Justin could smell a nice victory in the end with them all together again.
"Why thank you, Barrington. Nothing short of that for you all." Slytherins deserved the best as they already were in Justin's mind.
”It was okay Mr.McLeod, but im excited for this year, not so much about OWL’s but excited” she smiled at the man, maybe if he was just a bit younger……. Echo shook that thought right out of her head, he he he.. Cute head of house that’s for sure.

Text Cut: Hadleigh and Mr. McLeod!
NOMNOM.
Okay she still couldn’t look at this girl. And Mr.McLeod was taking It really well, if someone said that to her Echo would have screamed. Like really loud. Other students seem to be coming in now and the younger snake was taking to all of them. Smiling she knew that she was going to talk to her later, kid seemed pretty interesting to her.

Justin merely chuckled before patting the young lady's head a few times, "It's quite alright Miss Fairfield." So they could move on by enjoying some treats with everyone. Between greeting the others and returning some hearty replies with a "Good, good." For Miss Lynch and Miss Duchannes before returning the nod from- "Miss Andrews." A little short for words, but no biggie. It evening was still young. To the other wanderers, if he took a glance they would've seen him smile and beckon them over. Only if they were interested.

"Well hello and welcome to the best house Miss Atwater. Did you enjoy the feast?" Yep, Justin was jolly this evening.

Hm? Justin felt another presence nearby and he looked over and.. Aw. How sweet, was that for him? He grinned down at the little guy before taking it. "Why thank you, Master Song. How was your summer?"

And what better way to continue than with more treats. "Right you are Barrington." Before addressing others. "If any would like to experience the wonderous taste of s'mores go on and collect the ingredients; marshmellows, chocolate, and graham crackers.. and perhaps the rest if you wouldn't mind experimenting." He was young once and wasn't a stranger to mixing foods. Perhaps the quiet ones would partake an interest as well. "Going to want to also grab a nice stick for the marshmellows to roast."
As the Groundskeeper showcased with his, twisting it about over the small flames until it turned golden before blowing it out. "Nice one isn't? That's the only hard part." Not needing to explain anymore he set them in the crackers like a sandwich with the chocolate before taking a bite. Mmm, delicious.

"Not as good as I had liked but I didn't fail anything," the brunette answered in reply to Dante with a small shrug. Even after three or so months to get over that one 'A' she still hadn't managed to do so and it bugged her more then it probably should. "How did you do?" Only fair if she returned the question. Plus she was curious. His next question made her smile. "I did. I spent most of the summer in Ireland for an internship that dealt with a rescue reserve for magical creatures." Dream job if she wasn't setting out to become a true creature Healer.
The young female snake earned herself a small nod. "Most of us are. Sometimes you'll catch a grumpy snake but usually we all have no problem helping out our own." Luckily with most of those grumpy ones you could tell just by looking at them that you should leave them alone. Mostly everyone was nicer then you would think though which was good. Aaww Miss Hady, how cute was she! "It's nice meeting you too Vivian, I hope you like it here." There was no doubt that she would. What was there not to like? "Aaww well thank you, I think you're pretty as well," she replied smiling back at the smaller blonde.
Fingers running through Hagan's fur she listened to Brooklyn speak. "And how is that coming along?" The ballet and violin of course. The part about going to Miami received a smile. At least she hadn't just sat around at home doing absolutely nothing at all.
And Echo was still laughing. The girls laughter was enough to make Hady laugh herself but she was one to control her laughing normally. "I like to eat but I've been making sure to eat healthier then I used to." Not to much sweets and such. Did they have to speak about food? Talk of food made her want coffee and that was something she wasn't supposed to be having. Even if it was just until the training was done it was still asking a lot of her.

Hm? Justin felt another presence nearby and he looked over and.. Aw. How sweet, was that for him? He grinned down at the little guy before taking it. "Why thank you, Master Song. How was your summer?"
Jaemin grinned right back at the groundskeeper and took a bite of one of his own gummy worms, taking care to swallow it before speaking because talking with food in your mouth was impolite. And Jaemin was not impolite.
"I did experiments with my dad. Potions experiments." He nodded lightly. "And I went to the Quidditch thing and got to pet things, so my summer was good. Was yours, sir?" The small boy licked ice cream off the remains of the bitten worm before continuing. "Do you like living out on the grounds? D'you get to do whatever you want out there?"
