Slytherin Snake Pit Or perhaps in Slytherin You'll make your real friends Those cunning folk use any means To achieve their ends. SPOILER!!: The details The Slytherin common room was a long, low underground room with rough stone walls and ceiling, from which round, greenish lamps were hanging on chains. A fire was crackling under an elaborately carved mantelpiece ahead of them. The Slytherin emblem is everywhere, as house pride is one of our strong qualities. It reminds students of what being a Slytherin means and allows them to share those feelings with others. This is where Slytherin students are allowed to unwind, study and chat with one another. There is a room straight ahead that students may use as a quiet place to study and ask prefects and high scoring students questions. To the left, a corridor leads to the boys dormitories, and to the right leads to the girls dormitories. Beside each corridor is self inking quill and parchment with the words Attendo Thea Vipera on it. This is where you can leave a little information about yourself so your housemates can get to know you better. Over the fireplace mantle is where any Slytherin trophies and plaques lay. The empty space should serve as a reminder with the dates on the house's last wins. On the side of the fireplace is the notice board for class and announcements listed. Placed around the room there are four different Wizard Chess game boards. If you feel like playing better find a partner and see who can keep their pieces from getting smashed by the opposing team. The windows showcase the underwater where you can occasionally see the Giant Squid and other water creatures swim on by. A podium stands to the side with a copy of Hogwarts a History, which is where you will learn that even though the whole dungeon had once been flooded, nothing was waterlogged or permanently damaged. |
for anyone Yes couch here he comes. Dante had just finished his classes for the day and was looking forward to just flopping on the couch and staying there for an hour or until he was hungry. Whichever came first. He launched himself onto the open couch and let out a humongous sigh. Perfect.....oh wait he forgot his notebook. Salamander eggs. He wanted to look over some numbers and see if he wanted to throw another party. Which would not be as fun as doing it with Noel. But he was a little bored and it could be fun. He rolled over onto his stomach and looked around. Who was around he could bug. Did not matter older or younger. He was going to have to get up wasn't he. Summoning it would probably ruin it. |
Kye had finished her pumpkin juice and missed Edie. She picked up her bag and headed back to the Common Room. Ah, home. She noticed Edie, laying lazily on the mantle. Silly thing. It was as though she had said this out loud, because Edie's head raised from her slumber and she yawned at Kye. Kye smirked and went to pick up the kitten, walking by an older boy who was lounging around on a couch. |
Quote:
Ah someone was here. Dante maneuver so he was facing her and pointed his finger at her. "Hey you" Dante did not know her. Though she looked like a first year. He never knew. "I need your help getting up" He was feeling extremely lazy and well even with his wand on him. He wanted help getting up and well he could get to his dorm from there. Dante made grabbing motions at her now. Come on he did not have all day |
Quote:
She just looked at him for a moment, debating whether or not she should just walk away and leave his lazy bum right there on the couch... Then again, she hadn't talked to many people yet. She may as well. Judging him just a bit, she approached and yanked him up off the couch. "You can't do it by yourself yet?" she teased/was serious. She went back to her original task of picking up Edie and looked inquisitively at the boy. She was curious as to what he was planning to do now that he was up. |
Quote:
"Nope i'm just a weak and pathetic sixth year. Thanks though I'm Dante......what are you doing" Since it appeared she was looking for something. Not that Dante knew what. It was basically quiet in here expect for people already study in the corner over there. |
Quote:
"No ego at all, huh?..." she said, eyebrow raised. Lightening up a little she continued, "I'm Kye... I was studying in the Great Hall, but I got bored of it. What are you doing?" He had felt the sudden need to get up, so it must have been for something. Edie seemed to be a bit annoyed at just almost having Kye's attention and went to lay closer to the fireplace. |
Quote:
"Yeah studying stinks. I have to go get a notebook and see if some numbers match up. Problem is it is in my dorm" He would have asked Hugo to go get it but the Prefect was probably out doing prefect things with Kaycee. Problems when two of you friends are prefects. |
*joins in* Hi? x3 Making her way into the common room which she was slowly adjusting to the dampness of it, Sky dropped her bag next to one of the empty couches there and collapsed onto it. It'd only been a MONTH into school and she already felt drained, but maybe that was because she'd yet to learn shortcuts and was trying to do everything and anything. Glancing up at who was in the common room, she didn't recognize the older boy; the younger girl though she recognized as a fellow first year from the sorting ceremony and dorms, but unlike Vivian whom she took the bunk next to, Sky hadn't had the chance to really talk to this dormmate. "Hey. I know you sleep in my dorm, but we haven't had the chance to properly meet yet. I'm Skylar, though you could call me Sky." And that introduction went for you too, Mister older boy. Except the part about him sleeping in her dorm, because that'd just be plain weird. |
Hi hi! Text Cut: Dante and Sky :) Kye cocked her head a little in thought. Numbers? She had a feeling this had nothing to do with Arithmancy. "Numbers for what?" she asked him. Yes yes, she was butting into his business but oh well! She had nothing better to do. Waiting for a response, someone entered the room and collapsed on the couch. She wanted to dub this the slouch couch. Kye didn't look over immediately, since she probably didn't know the person anyway, but the girl spoke to them. Well whaddya know? It was one of the other first years. "Hi Sky, I'm Kye." ...Kye didn't think about her wording ahead of time. She smiled a little and went on. "My real name is Valkyrie, but only my granddad has actually ever called me that." Why did her parents even bother naming her something that sounded so epic (in Kye's mind), when they were going to shorten it anyway? |

Why else would you look at numbers. Well there was arithmancy but not a class Dante was taking anymore. So it was for betting of course. Before he could make a response they had company. Both were first years from what she was saying. Why does he always attract first years like a magnet. Obviously she was not directly talking to him because yeah no sleeping in the first years girls dorm. Valkyrie. What must a parent be thinking to name their kid that. Well the same could be said about Sky also. But it was only a nickname in this case. Sigh guess he will have to introduce himself again. Why cant everyone just know his name. Made things easier. "Dante. Hi Firstie. So both of you are first years. Well i now i feel old" |
Whoever wants her can claim her xD Hadleigh entered the common room silently taking no notice to anyone or anything that may have already been there. Her mind was a whirlwind of thoughts and an explosion of emotions she wasn't sure how to deal with. Her eyes held no shine or signs of laughter as they normally did. Crossing the room slowly she grabbed her usual beanbag chair seeing as it was empty and tugged it across the room. She set it in the far corner against the wall right into of the large window looking out into the black lake. Sitting down she made herself as small as possible which wasn't to hard being as she was shortish anyhow, folding her legs up underneath herself. Leaning her head against the wall, her long hair falling in her face she stared blankly out the window before her. Maybe she'd see something good today and it would take her mind off of other things. |
SPOILER!!: Kye and Dante Heh, Sky. Kye. Was it just her or was it kind of funny that their names rhymes? Not that she could replace Hattie because it, but it was still funny. Though Sky had to admit she kind of liked the sound of Kye's formal name. "Your granddaddy has excellent taste by calling you by your given name," Skylar nodded. Old? Just how old WAS Dante? Even if he was a seventh year, that was still younger than her oldest siblings (Hayley and Logan both counted here). Unless of course he failed and had to retake a year. "Yes, we're both first years. And really, don't feel old. You should envy us because we have still a full six more years to savor the castle. Besides, my oldest siblings are older than you. How old are you anyway? Fifteen?" Just a guess. Watch he turned out to be seventeen. Quote:
To approach or not to. If she was like Grace or Chloe or Hayley, the older girl might snap. But then again, having someone to talk about whatever was bothering her might be of benefit. But on the other hand, why should she talk to a naïve first year who didn't know dragon dung and vent her frustrations to her? Because exactly that. She was a fresh listening ear. Standing up from her chair suddenly, Sky walked slowly across the common room towards the window and plopped down on the floor in front of the window. She bit her lower lip contemplating. "Hi.... are you okay?" She muttered, barely above a whisper. |
Quote:
What even?! Why was there a child sitting in front of her blocking her view? Didn't she know she was trying to avoid the whole world, people included? Clearly the firstie didn't know. Why else would she be talking to her right now? Hady wasn't a mean person. Truth be told the girl didn't have one mean bone in her body but right now she wasn't thinking clearly. A sad pair of hazel eyes meet the look of the younger snake. "I'm fine, just tired..." she whispered quietly lowering her haze back down onto the floor. If only she could sleep. Lies. All of it. It was all lies. Maybe a trip to the potions lab for some Dreamless Sleep potion would be a good idea. |
For Daisy (and I guess anyone else if they feel the need to invade. lol) In some ways, Brooklyn still didn’t quite trust that the common room was free of invisible arachnids with a taste for her flesh. In fact, she had managed to stay away from the study tables pretty much ever since that incident three terms ago, or nearly three terms ago. Exact time wasn’t something she particularly cared to consider, yet the main point was that she hadn’t set foot in that section of the common room since third year. It just felt safer. Although there might have been a glance over in that direction as she’d made her way over to a chair near the fire. Just making sure, plus it helped her determine how many possible interruptions she might have while she was reading. That done, she arranged herself in the armchair, tucking her feet underneath her as she slid the book out of her bag. Still a few chapters or so left after her reading session during Potions, so she settled in to try and finish them. Actual school-related reading could happen later. |

Oh................................crud. Cornelius' green eyes scanned the common room inch by inch. Oh Fawkes. Not again. NOT AGAIN. He patted his robes and cursed something his mum would ground him for under his breath. Getting onto his hands and knees the Slytherin boy crawled blindly across the room, bumping into legs and tables as he did. "Mustard...MustAAARHDD!" Where the hell are you?!?!?! He searched and searched and THUMP!! His curly head bumped hard and straight into a chair. Cornelius Baltazar flopped onto his stomach seeing stars.... |
Quote:
At the edges of her notice, she had heard the person calling out for someone. Aside from wondering why anyone would be named after a condiment, she hadn’t paid any attention at all. She hadn’t seen anything, so there was no reason to look up from her book. At least, not until she felt her chair unceremoniously shaken, which caused her to look up, an irritated expression in her eyes. “You should look where you’re going,” she said, shifting to lean over so she could look down at the boy laying on the floor. |
Quote:
Owwwwwwww. His head hurt. Was those stars he was seeing? The boy heard a voice and it was then that he decided to turn around onto his back. He blinked and the squinted at the redhead hovering above him. Well...he was seeing pretty girls now. This wasn't a bad thing. "Are...are you an angel?" he croaked out weakly. His head hurt and the room was still spinning. He was DYING. |
Crawl through rock, find no stone. . . . . . wall of rock, so stone. Mason must find. . . . . . Lulla need stone, asks just Mason for stone. Mason must find. . . . . . Floor of stone too, Mason no look hard on floor. . . but maybe stone built in floor? Under rug. . . ? Maybe. . . Slowly, slowly, slowly, Mason kneels to rock-floor, head lolling to side, eyes clear of any emotion. Mason just find, Mason no feel things, only find. . . . . . Carpet is in way, Mason must *rip! rip! rip!* through icky green-carpet to get to rock. . . so many carpet to *rip! rip! rip!* all carpet in way, Mason must *rip! rip! rip!* . . . Floor is rock. . . does floor even have stone? Mason must look over whole floor. . . so many carpet to *rip! rip! rip!*. . . Mason not looking fast enough! Lulla need stone! Mason need hurry! *rip! rip! rip!* All carpet must go. . . *rip! rip! rip!* |
For Ally and anyone else really! :) Oliver slooowly and very sleepily made his way from his dorm to the common room, figuring he really should get to know his house mates better. He was so bad at socializing, it was kind of ridiculous... but today would be different! He flopped down onto a bean bag chair and looked around at anyone that was there. He saw a girl (Mason)....who was....ripping up the carpet??? And he wasn't sure if he was supposed to let her do as she pleased...or....not? But he was just gonna....let her do her thing for now maybe. Maybe someone TOLD her to rip up the carpet. Or maybe she was mental. But Oliver really didn't think bothering her would be too great of an idea... |
Oliver and Mason! Having spent hours baking Hady had carried what was left of the goodies laid out on a tray to the common room. Her intent here was to set it on the table and let her fellow snakes enjoy the cookies and other snacks. After giving the password and entering the room however her eyes landed on the younger girl ripping up the carpet. "What are you doing?" She questioned setting the tray on the table and crossing the room to tap Mason on the shoulder. "Mason? Hey, cut it out you're gonna get in huge trouble!" What in the world was she doing? And why was that other kid just sitting there watching and not stopping her?! |
Oh hey, there was another person and she seemed to know the girl who was ripping up the carpet. Now he didn't feel so bad about not saying anything. But...he figured the girl who had just joined probably thought he was a horrible person for not saying anything about it... "Umm...I just...I just got here." Not that he was using an excuse but...he kind of was. "I didn't know if there was a reason for her to be doing that...so I didn't say anything." He blushed a little out of embarrassment. Hearing it out loud made him feel extremely stupid. |
Mason hear voice. . . not Lulla voice. . . not important voice. . . Voice want Mason to. . . cut it out. . . but Mason couldn't stop. . . she needed to find stone. . . voice didn't know anything. . . . . . Mason lifted her head slightly. . . dead-eyes turning towards the voice, the girl. . . and there was boy too. . . boy that just lay of chair. . . boy no help look. . . . . . "Mason need find stone. . . Lulla asks just Mason for stone. . ." . . . find, find, find, find, fine. . . |
The Slytherin female had heard the boy talk when her eyes landed on him but right at that moment she didn't answer. Her attention went straight back onto Mason and once more she was at a loss. What was this about a stone? Hady blinked down at her friend. "A stone? What type of stone...maybe we can help you find it?" Now just stop tearing up the rugs already! And just who was Lulla?! So many questions and not enough answers. Turning her head back towards the boy she eyed him briefly. "None of that matters. It's fine. Um...any clue on what 'stone' she's speaking about?" If not it didn't matter either. What was important was getting the second year to focus and stop acting like a mindless zombie child before she injured herself. |
Mason stared up at unimportant girl-voice. . . she need know. . . she help find. . . no, no, no. . . Lulla said only Mason. . . Mason special for Lulla. . . Lulla trust Mason. . . . . . She shook her head slowly, hands still curled around the ripped-apart carpet. . . "Mason can't say. . . Lulla says keep it secret. . . Mason must find stone. . ." . . . Girl-voice was speaking to Lazy-boy now. . . was she speaking bout Mason? Did boy know of stone? Lulla only trust Mason with secret-stone. . . boy not know of stone. . . "It Lulla and Glowy's Stone. . . belongs to them. . . they lost it. . . Mason must find. . . " And with that she started *rip! rip! rip!*-ing at the carpet again, trying to get to the floor beneath it. . . find, find, find, find. . . |
