The house elves have been hard at work, leaving the Great Hall spotless, the tables set with pristine silverware, and delicious smells floating up from the kitchen. Your stomach might be growling, but it isn't quite time to eat yet.
Hopefully, the new Headmaster will make an appearance before you chew your way through your House table. Has anyone seen him yet?

A table set for eating, but with no food in sight is beyond heartbreaking. Calrissian wasn't exactly hungry, per se. He just craved real food. Not that the food trolley on the train was full of fake food, it's just that all those sweets he ingested were not sitting very well. If he didn't eat something well soon, he was bound to puke a welcoming for all the newbies.
The fourteen year old took a seat near the exit just in case, you know, in case the sweets wanted to say hello.

Contessa smirked and jumped off the ledge, striding towards the Slytherin table. Mother is going to be so proud! She tried to keep from smiling and tried to look like a grumpy person even though she was giddy with happiness at getting the best house. She bounced into a seat next to an older girl. Her stomach growled a little.
Woah the train ride went so quickly. I guess eating and talking passed the time huh? He guessed so. Now onto finding the snakes table. It felt weird being in his dress robes. He had to get used to it since the past few month he was in his muggle clothes. Well his summer muggle clothing that is. He spotted the slytherin table all the way to the right. He saw the green coloring and realized there were only a few people. He nodded towards his fellow Slytherins and sat down. As he sat down and observed his surroundings, he saw the lions table was all crowded.
He looked over and saw Dora. He still couldn't help but smirk at her reaction. He waited to see if she would come over and talk to him some more. Come on she was amusing at times.

Well... yeah she waved to Colt and made her way over... that conversation on the train had been cut short and all. Courtesy of the owner of the GROSS ferret. And well if she came over to say hey to Colt she could also find Corby while she was here, yeah? HEHEHE!
WIN WIN!
Flopping onto the bench next to her friend she gave a small sigh. "Sorry about the train... that girl was rude. Did you know her?"

Colt grinned when Dora finally made her way to the table, he had to comment though. "Don't leave on my account. Your friends over there seem to want to talk to you.." he motioned towards them. He heard her question and shrugged. "Eh it was alright and yeah I do know her. She is a piece of work she is. Her name is Callie. I met her last year. She takes a bit getting to know.." Those were the only words he could come up with. Now onto their train conversation. "Now back to the conversation we had, so we were talking about my looks.." he smirked. Now he was gonna be like that person. He was going to milk this moment in. "Also tell me of your travels too. I wanna know." He looked at his cup and wished pumpkin juice was in it.
Two disastrous feasts at the start and close of his first year had set the mood for what would likely be the small boy's entire Hogwarts career. Bypassing the boats this time because he was a Grown Up Wizarding Person now, Jaemin had hopped in the first carriage he could catch and had waited impatiently for the horseless (not horseless, he reminded himself. The book thing said they were not horseless, even though they were.) thing to get up to the school. Once there the diminutive Slytherin had hurried himself inside, because if tradition held true, this would be a war.
Frowning a little to himself, Jaemin scanned the entirety of the table before deciding to walk down the side furthest from the Gryffindor table to find a seat. While he had (mostly) forgiven Gryffindor for their trespasses against food during his first feast here... he had not forgotten, and he would definitely be prepared this time. He was going to get to eat this time around, and he was going to make darn sure of it.
Eyes flickering up at the staff dais, the boy took a seat nearest to it. Some of the professors were already there... he looked from face to face, openly curious about the woman he didn't recognise. A new person? Did that mean that there was an old person that wasn't coming back?
...and a kitty. A BIG KITTY. Which sent Professor Flamsteed on the run. Maybe he was allergic? He would probably run from things he was allergic to as well. Nonplussed, Jaemin continued his staring, eyes circling back to the spot where the cat was as he waited. And waited. And waited.
Food please. So he could eat before the havoc began.

Oh, look the first newbie and no puke yet. Good sign, good sign. Cal tapped the young girl on the shoulder lightly. "C-congrats! Welc-c-come to S-Slytherin!" Not like him to congrats a firstie, but he's a fourth year now and fourth years need to be cool with the firsties so that someone remembers him when he's gone. "I'm C-Cal."

Pffft! Whatever!! Colt had TOTALLY wanted her to come sit with him. Hehe. "I can talk to them when I go back over or when we get to the common room. I wanted to come talk to you and admire your face." Okay so she was totally just inflating his ego now, but it was fun and he really WAS hotter now. Heh.
"I met her once last term, too. In the observatory. But she called me Nim... so I think I have to make her life miserable now." Because OBVIOUSLY her name was Dora, not Nim. Never Nim.
"OH! I went to Bali with my family and Casper and then we spent the last few weeks of summer in Santorini. We love Greece." That was where she had been born anyway! "And I got FLOWERS on the train. From a boy." So like... all the other boys needed to step it up now.

She looked up with a look of annoyance. She glanced in the direction of the hand. Contessa blinked and frowned at him a little. She hadn't noticed him earlier but now that she got a good look at him, she saw that he was older as well. What is with everyone being older than me? She brushed that thought aside and looked at the guy. "Danks so much. I'm Contessa Elena de Luca." Her Italian accent was a bit thick and it did not help that she spoke a bit fast... out of nerves. She glanced down then back up at the older dude.

Ariadne Greingoth made her way into the Great Hall with confidence in her step. She was a SECOND YEAR now, and NO start-of-term food fight was going to scare her under the table this time. A quick glance down the table told her that basically none of her regular friends were in the Great Hall yet. SLACKERS. hee hee She gave a small smile and wave to the people she did see (everyone here) then took a seat kind of in the middle.
Her brown eyes flickered up to the staff table. She couldn't really see much with all the comings and goings, but she just bet there were loads of new staffers. She'd heard other people say that there were always new staffers. There was no food out yet either, which was no good, because Ariadne was starving! That one chocolate frog she'd had at the beginning of the train ride hadn't kept her full at all.

Ooh, she looked annoyed. This is why he didn't talk to younger kids. They're wild cards. What if she turns out to be like Daxton Prince? He doesn't want to go down that road again. He doesn't want to be on this road right now. Among all that, he didn't pick up on the Italian accent, despite being of that ancestry himself. Her name entered one ear and out the other. It was long. His name was long too, but he didn't want to repeat the whole thing again. So..."uh, cool...?"
Felix always thought she was a brave person, but the boat ride after the train ride rocked her core belief that she wasn't a scaredy cat. For one she didn't like water she couldn't see the bottom in and secondly a nasty little boy thought it was great fun to rock the boat as they bobbled along the black lake. Felix clung to the side of the boat with one hand and tried to hex the boy with her left hand. She missed entirely, but the boy got the message.
By the time they docked she was sea sick, but at least the lake water had made her hands less sticky.
Her sorting was uneventful and thankfully she got into Slytherin. It made it up for her hellish boat ride over. She skipped over to the Slytherin table amid the applause.

Felix looked around for somewhere to sit. Her daddy told her that it was very important to pick the right seat, you had to make the right sort of friends. The sort that wouldn't rat you out in case of trouble and the kind that ran slower than you incase you needed a quick getaway.
She sat next to a tiny boy who hadn't been in the sorting so he was older. "Oh good another small person. Its always nice to find someone on your 'level'." She said using air quotes for level. "I thought I was going to be the tiniest person here, most of the time I'm always the smallest even with all my cousins. My little cousin Persia is almost taller than me and she's only 6, but her daddy is tall. But you shouldn't frown so its not good for the growth spurt." She pulled out her jawbreaker to make sure it had survived the boat ride. "My aunt says beautiful people shouldn't frown it prematurely ages you." And the boy was beautiful, in the Barbie doll sort of way.
"I'm Felix. Felix Greenwood." She offered the boy her hand that didn't hold her jawbreaker.

She fidgeted in place then looked around again.
Felix looked down the length of the table and spotted her train buddy. Well was she a buddy? Felix didn't even know her name, but they had shared candy maths together. That had to be the start of a beautiful friendship right?
She waved at the girl. "Hullo." She smiled at the girl hoping the girl wouldn't pull a snob act like some of her older cousins do when they are all out in public.

A frowned showed at the 'uh, cool...?' She sighed. "Not one for words?" She glanced at him. "Or is it because I am young?" Contessa crossed her arms. He was the one who started this conversation... shouldn't he be the nice one? I mean he tapped MY arm... who the heck is this guy? She looked at him then at the table, looking and hoping for food because she was VERY hungry. Contessa rubbed her stomach and swung her legs a little, looking around at the huge room.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh....what was happening? Cal, don't ever congratulate anyone again. "I...uh..." He was more than convinced it was just going to be a 'thank you' and then back to normal, but no. She was looking at him like he could make the food appear. WELL, HE CAN'T. He wishes there was food too, okay? "...neither? I jus-st don't have anything to s-say?"
Melbourne was heading over to the other houses tables already…she’d already eyed some of the people she recognized from the previous term sending waves and smiles to all of them as she neared them. Of course Dora and Colt got waves.
Mel obviously wasn’t eavesdropping as she passed by the two of them…nope she had been on a mission until she heard the comment about his face and turned to look. It was a nice face wasn’t it? “Hey guys…you picked a nice face to admire” she nodded before looking around again. Right. It was mission time.
What was her mission again? She didn’t remember in the least…”congratulations on getting flowers by the way” she beamed and silently wished she had gotten some herself but…wait who would she have wanted to get them from? Mel was scanning the tables again when she spotted the guy that used to have all of that hair...and some girl? Right. Mission.
"Um...what happened to your hair?" Mel asked pointedly looking over at Calrissian. She'd only ever seen him in some of her classes and around the school but still she had noticed he USED to have long hair.

Could he just turn around and pretend that he can't hear her? Yeah! Yeah, that's a good plan. Slowly and casually he turned his back to her and faced the opposite way...

Plan was going good for about 20 seconds when another female voice spoke up.
HAIR HAIr HAir Hair hair...
Cal wasn't even facing the person and he knew it was about him. Don't cry, Cal. Don't cry. Keep facing the exit.
The girl that was near the guy was talkative. VERY talkative…kind of like yammering on and on and on and on talkative. Maybe she was bugging hair boy?
Tilting her head at him. “If you…uh…need to get revenge on people I’m really good at revenge. Its my forte.” She told him with a vicious little grin as she sat down next to him. “I made this potion at camp that sort of accidentally-on-purpose gave my bunkmate fleas.”
Okay. It wasn’t a potion. She’d released fleas on her bunkmate and then TRIED to throw them into the boys camp but the stupid charms had warded them off.

She looked over at the older girl, noticing that she was not in green. She eyed her then frowned, looking at the silent boy. Ignoring me? Seriously? He was the one who tapped on my shoulder! A frown and glare was shot at his back and she set her eyes on the older girl. "Is he always like dat?" She pointed to the older guy and hissed at the end, frustrated and feeling offended.

So far the only thing Brooklyn had learned about the upcoming term was that people had a screw loose. She didn’t particularly care about younger students who had lost people, or animals, or whomever the one boy had been going on about. More importantly, there hadn’t been any disgusting hags on the train ride there, making predictions that were both disturbing and oddly complimentary. Had she smelled any better. The sixteen year old was definitely happy that there wasn’t a repeat of that situation. Anything that meant she wouldn’t have to avoid certain areas of the grounds was welcome in her eyes.
Making her way to her house table, she’d only given the occupants already there a cursory glance, maybe a nod toward Colt and Ariadne, as she walked to an open seat. There wasn’t really a need to speak when it was obvious the little firsties and Gryffindors were doing enough talking for everyone. Instead, she’d turned her gaze toward the staff table to see what differences there were this term. For the most part, it seemed like all returning staff members, with the exception of two women she didn’t recognize and a large cat. Hmm, she thought, remembering Professor Quigley and how he’d been a cat Animagus. At the sight of Professor Flamsteed fleeing toward the Gryffindor table, she only thought of the former professor more fondly. If only the cat up at the staff table proved to be just as amusing.

She couldn't believe it! A sigh of relief and soon a letter to the parents to let them know the good news. Kye almost strode towards her new House table. In a rush to join, she really didn't look down the whole table, convinced she wouldn't see the whole one person she knew. Plus it was hard to tell in this dim light if there was even space back there! Well, hopefully others would join her at the Slytherin table and all would not be silent.
She was one happy eleven year old indeed. Now all she had to do was find the Slytherin common room, which she knew was somewhere in the Dungeons. She would also need to find out if Quidditch was worth watching, or if her time was better spent studying. What kind of homework would she be getting? Would she have anyone else in her dormitory or would she be like Ariadne with just one? Ugh, she was starting to feel the hunger now that the Sorting for her was over.
Kimothée Chalamet • The UWU Agenda • Once Baby, Now Trouble • All Growed Up
Apparently, the sorting ceremony process was very draining for her. After Vivian took the Hat off and made a wrong turn to the Ravenclaw Table, she went to join her now fellow housemates in the table with green banners. So... this was her home for the next seven years, huh? In all due honesty, Vivian wasn't sure about what she really felt. She had not expected to be sorted into Slytherin when most, if not all, of her family members were sorted into either Ravenclaw or Gryffindor. On top of that, she wasn't sure how her parents and Aunt Elise would react to their little Vivi being a Snake.
Vivi walked slowly but then shook her head to clear herself from overthinking. The blonde examined the occupants of the table. She didn't really know anyone. Wow. For once, she was a little bit nervous... and Vivian Iona Fairfield wasn't synonymous to that term at all.
Oh, look! Vivian perked a little bit when she saw a familiar face. It was Ariadne, the girl she sat with in the Hogwarts Express. The eleven year old went towards her and sort of squished her butt so she could sit beside the second year. Sorry, not sorry. She just needed a familiar person close, and also some reassuring that the Sorting Hat didn't place her in this House as a joke.
"Hi," she said to Ariadne, looked down at her fingers, and wagged them a little bit to keep herself distracted. Really, she didn't know what to do. It was a very un-Vivian thing of her.

SLYTHERIN...Demean had his first win at Hogwarts, it was the house he was looking for! Going trough the table everyone was a stranger, so he sat in a empty space with no one to make eye contact with. Perhaps it was better that way, going low profile while things start to settle. Such a delicious smell, but where was the food ?

Elsa kept to herself during the train ride, but now she was finally at her second favorite place in the world - Hogwarts and she couldn't contain the excitement anymore. She skipped along the Slytherin table saying hi to Ariadne, Melbourne, Hady and a few others and sat across a first year boy that was silently waiting. She put on her biggest grin and waved a hello to him "Hi! I'm Elsa, welcome to Slytherin!" she squealed in excitement, slightly jumping in her seat with anticipation for the banquet. She was famished.
