Art was stooped over his walking stick. It was all that was holding him up. He'd thought this would have been fun, a good idea, something to get a laugh, but he was regretting it now. The walking stick was shaking under his tremour. Even dear Madame Curie was looking at him, her little nose sniffing about in concern. He slowly, slowly pulled out his chair, walked around it, and sat down. It took him about two minutes to be able to lift up high enough to place his backside on the chair, but there it was. And hopefully he wouldn't have to move it this lesson. It would take a few hours for the potion to wear off.
The door was already open, and the ingredients were lined up under a charmed piece of cloth. Mostly so that he could be sure nobody had tampered with them, but also to keep the ingredients a secret. At least for now. He was starting to think about how he would manage to reach across the desk to lift the cloths... how would he manage that? Well, a class of students, he was sure he could ask one of them to lift it up for him.
Prepare all ingredients as listed in the ingredients list, weighing and measuring each carefully.
Slowly heat the red wine and prune juice and begin stirring clockwise until you can just see bubbles starting to form. (The mixture will be dark purple/brown)
Immediately add the Hairy Fungus and continue to stir clockwise for ten minutes. (The mixture will slowly fade to a lighter purple/brown)
Continuing to stir clockwise, add the tortoise shell. (The mixture will be a creamy color)
After eight minutes, remove the cauldron from the heat and add the caterpillar and bat tongue, making sure to continue to stir the solution in a clockwise motion for five minutes, until it changes to a creamy green colour.
As the potion cools, it will turn emerald green. Once it is completely cooled (about fifteen to twenty minutes), you may cease dispense the potion into appropriate vials for storage.
Characteristics: Emerald Green Level: Advanced Information: The effects are dosage based; the more ingested, the older one will age
Professor Newton never really looked very put together to Chloe. The judgemental third year was of the opinion that Hirsch was the pinnacle of good looks, especially amongst this faculty. But Newton was looking even worse than usual today. He looked like a flimsy card that with one short breath could be knocked over.
She nodded at him in lieu of a hello and took her seat. Curiosity now turned to the ingredients being covered up.

Echo was ready! she wanted to learn as fast as possible because this year was her OWL's and she couldn't forget anything this year, and try to study from previous years. This year is going to be stressful enough as it was. Finding her way through the sea of students she noticed not everyone was here yet. Grabbing a seat she put her things down and waited for her friends to arrive.
The thing about classes was that Dora had to see EVERYONE. Even people she didn't particularly care to see. Like TRAITORS and people who excluded her. HMPH. Casting a glance around the room as she stepped in, Dora gave a sniff. SNIFF. For reasons.
But whatever. Eyes on the professor... who looked like he might keel over any minute. Sheesh. Had he ALWAYS looked like that? Dora could NOT remember, but she figured it might be rude to mention it... So she merely said, "Hello Professor!" And gave him a little wave as she made her way to Sam. Plopping into the seat she smiled a bit and pushed her hair over her shoulder.
WHAT WAS UNDER THAT CLOTH MAN!? Dora needed to know. Now.
The boy was in a sugar high...again. He had been feeling a bit sleepy earlier that day and decided, "hey, why not eat ten sugar quills to get some energy?" Energy he got. TONS of it, and he couldn't stop bouncing on his feet as he made way into the potions classroom.
Good Merlin. Potions. He wanted to make stuff. What were they going to make? Something to make him strong? Invisible? Tiny as an aunt? Have web come out of his wrists? MAKE HIM SUPER FAST THAT HE COULD SURPASS BROOMSTICKS????
He planted his bum on a seat near the front. And bounced. "Hullo, professor. How are yah?" GRIN.
No robes. No shoes. No socks. All in all, a normal day for Daxton, in terms of attire.
He entered the classroom quietly, scanning his environment carefully. As was his custom, he ignored the professor seated up at the desk, and did not acknowledge anyone here that he already knew; Char, Dora, Katherine Moss (all of whom he was usually on not-terrible terms with) were ignored. The same applied to everyone else as Daxton habitually took up the seat as close to the door - and the way out - as he could get, and regarded in other occupants in the room with the utmost suspicion.
Obviously.

One of the many perks of being a Slytherin was the fact that their Common Room was basically next to the beloved Potions-Dungeon and because of Mason's tendency to oversleep, this was a blessing of note.
Her hair was pulled back into a messy ponytail, since duh, nobody wanted hair in their potions. . . and because of the aforementioned oversleeping. She looked bad, but as soon as she marched into the classroom, she felt like a beauty-queen. "You're not looking so hot this morning, Professor." Was he sick? Had he and Madam Curie (still Animagu) been exposed to radiation? She hoped not, cause she actually liked the old professor and his little rat. "I hope that you feel better soon, Professor Newton."
She gave the man a small smile before making her way towards one of the vacant tables, her heavy bag clanking noisily as all of her instruments hit one another. She waved nonchalantly to all of the people that she recognized, Esme, Haddie, Rach, the lil sneak Fairchild, Olaf, the smol-Bec, Hady, Kitty, Azura and Cornyyyy. Sir Jerk-face was ignored, since that seemed to be the way the boy preferred it. Man, she really was late, soooooo without further ado. . . Let's begin, shall we?

Merlin he was tired. Staying up the night before was possibly one of his worse ideas since the term started--but rest assured, there were dumber ideas to come. This was just the beginning. For right now though, he kinda just wanted to go back to bed, which he'd likely do at the first opportunity.
Blaise walked into the room, hardly paying attention to anything. The cloth did peak his interest some but his quill that floated along next to him seemed far more taken by the room's new design than he did. The effect of suffering through one class while tired then having to come to yet another. Was there a class after this? Was it lunch? If it was Charms it'd likely be go back to the dorm and enjoy a siesta time. Huh. Maybe he SHOULD have made a better effort to learn the schedule.
"Morning Professor." The boy managed to stifle a yawn as he took his seat in the middle. Nothing wrong with the man as far he could tell. Must have stayed up late the night before too.
Oh hey, his friends were already here. Char and Katherine got tired nods, do did Daxton (not gonna question the normal clothes thing, nope, too tired) and Chloe got one too before his head was placed on the desk. Not sleeping...just....resting his eyes.

Oh Merlin was he excited!!!! This was his first official POTIONS lesson in EVER and he could barely contain his excitement and he really hoped that nobody minded his excitement. He had never even looked inside a potions book much less tried one on account of his mother might freak out and that was a scary though! . "Helllooooo Professor!" he waved largely at the man.... oh.... he was..... not what he remembered from the feast. He stopped at the man's desk. "Professor, I'm afraid you're looking rather elderly today." SO what? The boy had no filter when it came to learning. "Could 8 get you anything?" a walker, wheelchair, some strings to make him a maranet doll?! he really wasn't trying to be rude honest. Just helpful.

Not in the mood.
The still tiny half-Japanese boy made his way down all those flights of stairs, and managed to get into Potions on time, and out of breath. There's no way he'd miss the class, simply because he's got something to prove to his mama once term is over. He must do better than last term. Yes.
Jace quietly slipped inside the Potions Classroom, and gave the professor a bow in greeting. There's no need to greet him out loud since he has decided to stay at the very back of the room, close to...what's the older boy's name? The one who doesn't seem to talk? Daxter? Dexter? Daxton? Daxton! Yes, that kid. He seems to be very aloof...and scary...and yes, perfect lab partner if ever because he was sure the older Ravenclaw was going to be less of a drama queen.
Quietly, he placed his bag on the shared work station, and inclined his head to the older boy. Hi, hello?

When would he get into the rhythm of lessons again? He felt like he didn't even want to be in these classes when he walked into the classrooms. The Scottish boy loved to learn but his current motivation status was horrible right now. He didn't know what he wanted to do or where he wanted to be. He wanted to be in bed sleeping the day away. So, yes he knew where he wanted to be right now. Anywhere but class. Brady walked into the potions classroom and looked around for a very quick moment. He walked over to an empty seating area and sat down.

Alright this was definitely something....different to say the least for her.
The redhead walked into the classroom after the very creepy walk she just took through the dungeons to get there. "What an extremely odd place to have a Potions classroom." What about some natural sunlight, it's perfect for the pores you know. And what an odd amount of necessities she had to bring with her for this class as well, did he not realize how demanding that was already?
Ughhhhhh.....
She'd much rather be with her father right now. Was it too late to transfer back OUT of this school? She sighed before going to take a seat in an available space, soon letting out another sigh once again as she settled in.
Melbourne Johanson was not that bothered with the amount of stairs she had to descend to get to the Potions lab. Really she was probably one of the only gryffindors that really enjoyed feeling the wind in her hair as she ran down the stairs and slid down the bannisters of those non-moving-stairs. “’Morning Professor” she smiled at the Professor grinning wildly.
“Are we going to learn more antidotes this term?” She asked happily, because hey being poisoned hadn’t been that bad it wasn’t like she had felt too bad during it…okay fine she’d felt horrid but it was probably a good thing to learn right? How not to die from poison?

Colt thought he might as well be proactive. He needed to try and get into some lessons. He was being nagged by his mother via owl to try and get an education. He needed to do well in OWLS. He didn't think they would come up so soon. As he made his way to the potions classroom from his common room, he realized it was so close. He didn't have to walk too far. Kudos to him. As he passed the entrance way to the potions classroom, he noticed the Professor was there. Hmm he had a cane with him? Must be really old. Why would he want to spend his time with snobby little brats? Ah well his choice.
He nodded towards him and muttered, "Hello Professor.." and then walked to find his seat. He found one near the back of the classroom. Time to do some doodles before class started. He wondered what they were learning. He snorted at Mel's question and gave her a little wave.

Just putting it out there: this was not Liv's favorite hour of the day.
The dungeons, as they were appropriately named were cold, damp....and there was this really funny smell that seemed to permeate from the very walls. Those were the cons. Pros? Er, they were super creepy at times? So, that tickled her Gryffindor thrill-seeking, of course. However, pure nerve and a daring attitude could only carry her so far in the learning of this "nobel art" as her mum had described it. Eh, personally, she wasn't really impressed.
No, no, when it came down to things, she just hoped she could concentrate better than she had last term. GLITTER LION NEEDED EXCITEMENT. GIVE US EXCITEMENT OR GIVE US DEATH!
Also, there was no sitting with anyone today. The tone of the room was rather somber already and it was totally harshing her joyful vibe. Was the Professor going to die? He looked.....Well, not that great, to be honest. So, glitter being knocked loose from her hair and robes, she sashayed to a seat towards the front...SO EVERYONE COULD SEE HER, and made a show of dramatically putting down her bag and taking a seat. DRAMA AND THEATER HAD THE POWER TO CHEER PEOPLE UP!
"Hello, everyone!" Mhm. Liv was speaking to all the people because it was just her way. Hi! HELLO! How were they all doing!?

Gendry determined he did not like the dungeon. It was dark, damp and altogether not a pleasant place. His parents had told him all about the magical art of potion-making but they had failed to mention it would be done in a dungeon. He shuffled in and noted a frail looking person at the front of the class. Not wanting to be rude, as that would draw attention, he nodded a greeting. Hello, professor. Who else could it be. Everyone else in here looked to be a student and why wouldn't a frail, old person near death teach such an arcane class.
Gendry looked around for a place to sit that wouldn't put him near anyone. He wasn't sure he would have much luck as it seemed the class had been filling up prior to his arrival.

The fact that the man in charge looked as if he might keel over at any moment wasn't exactly reassuring. This was really the only class she had any interest in taking and if it was ruined by the untimely death of a professor, she'd be sufficiently disappointed. Hold it together, Newton. At least until the class was done.
"Professor," She greeted with a nod as she skirted past him, not wanting to get too close in case whatever was ailing him was contagious. One could never be too sure. And after arriving at her usual spot, the seventeen year old cleaned her seat, and her table, and her hands to start. Not taking any risks.

Brian had always found Professor Newton plenty disturbing. And all-around creepy. Who even brought a rat to school, let it sit on tables, on things they were supposed to be consuming themselves? Leptospirosis was a thing - and even if he wasn't as aware of that as he should be, it was just plain hygiene. Entering the room and somehow managing to keep a sizeable amount of distance between him and the old man, nodded in greeting. "Good morning, professor."
And he'd just take a seat towards the back. Really, that rat gave him the heebie jeebies.
Matt didn't quite know what he thought of Potions anymore. Was it cool? Was it dangerous? Was it something he should be bothered about at all? WHO KNEW?? Not Matt.
But he showed up anyway, because if anything, these lessons were usually entertaining, mainly because of the results of the Potions.
Merlin, the professor looked... not so good. "Hullo, professor Newt! Madam Curry!" The boy greeted them both as usual with a smile and a waaaaaaave. He couldn't help but notice a glitter-haired girl (Olivia) at the front of the class being particularly loud and amusing. Matt grinned and went to take a seat next to her because he liked LOUD. AND she was a Gryffindor too, which meant she was cool and already his friend. "HelloooOOOOOOOooooooo!" The second year replied to her greeting with the same amount of enthusiasm because WOOOHOOOOOOO, why not?? HELLO!

"Hello Professor. " She said with a wave as walked in. "How are you today?" The little girl asked as she sort of smiled. He looked.. Sick? Or maybe tired? She hoped he was all right.
Art slowly turned his head towards the first student to walk in. “G-good m-m-morning Miss Kennedy,” Art greeted the little Ravenclaw. How was he? Was that before or after he stupidly ingested the potion? “I-I aaaam g-g-g-gooooood,” he managed to get out. It was tricky. “A-a-and y-you?”

"Hello Professor, I'm Evie Bailey" She smiled sweetly at him and hoped that she would enjoy this class.
Looking around she saw the bowls covered by cloths so that you couldn't see inside. hmmmm she couldn't wait. She loved surprises. She took a seat near the front, knowing that she would thank herself later when some of the older students aka taller came in.
The next young lady to join the classroom was a new one. Fresh brains to fill! These meetings usually had the Professor up and showing the student around the lab, but not today. If he were to do that, it would be quite some time before he was able to get back onto his chair. No, he’d stay seated. He smiled at the student, who introduced herself. “M-m-miss Bailey, it’s w-wonderful to m-m-meeeeet you. Something seemed a little off with him but Esme couldn't pinpoint in what way. Confused, she headed over to a workstation near the front and took a seat. She couldn't wait to find out what they were brewing today.
“G-g-good m-m-morning Miss D-Darcy,” Art greeted the first Hufflepuff to arrive. He had remembered her sharing his table up the front with her last term. He’d not meant to frighten the young lady with the birds, but she had done well.

He entered the class just as the Professor was oh so very gingerly setting himself on his seat. Had a little unfortunate accident too? "Whaddup Professor. Rough day too Sir?" He could sympathize really. "Hey how's the world from down there Ms Curie?" he greeted the Professor's little furball. Still thought furry curry was a cuter name for her but yeah she be one of those prim and proper rats lulz.
So yes off he goes grabbing his lab coat and plopping himself onto his workstation and.... getting that wretched thorn off his side. Like literally.
Art slowly moved his head from Miss Darcy to the next person to arrive. Well if it wasn’t Mr Salander! He felt a slow smile spread across his face. Nothing was in a hurry today. He couldn’t quite control the speed of which things were occurring. Smile, words… sigh. “N-n-not too bad,” Art said, not wanting to give any hints away just yet. “A-and how are y-you Mr S-S-Salander?”
Madame Curie sniffed at the student, and Art knew she was pleased when students remembered to say hello to her, too. Art let out a very slow chuckle that turned into a cough. He raised a hand to his mouth and let out a few very feeble coughs.

"Hi. Good morning, Professor," the Slytherin greeted and beamed at the old man. Oh, he looked so fragile! Poor guy. "I'm Vivian Fairfield, Slytherin." The first year part of the intro didn't really seem too important. Puhlease. Vivi then skipped and settled for a seat near the wall (in case she fell asleep). There you go. She was willing to continue, if just for the subject. That and she wasn’t going to drop her usual demeanor when it came to the professors just because she remembered being poisoned.
In any case, the trip to the classroom hadn’t taken long. The advantage to already being in the dungeons, and she’d walked in with her head held high. Not many of those who were already there gained her notice, aside from the little snake and the boy from the train. Instead, she’d made her way to her usual seat, only then noticing exactly how shaky the professor looked. “Good morning professor,” she said, giving him a half nod before she’d begun setting her things out for the lesson.

As Fiy took a seat, he wondered if Professor Newton was always that frail. A thought suddenly occured to him. Did a potion do that? Was the class going to brew the same potion that had made their teacher seem so sickly? Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all...

A piece of cloth was covering something. It was the first thing that caught her eye when she walked into the classroom and she assumed it were the ingredients needed for the lesson. She looked around to see lots and lots of people already, not knowing if to approach them or not and she chose the second option, walking to the front of the class and sitting at front.
It was at that moment Jessica finally noticed the teacher and she slightly bowed her head. "Hello Professor." Her voice was soft as she said it, quickly reaching to get the things ready that she thought she would need.
“He-hello Miss Kim,” Art greeted the young Hufflepuff girl, a new recruit! Very exciting. And what a great house to be in. “I’m P-Professor Newton, and th-this here is M-Madame Curie,” he gave his rat a little scratch on her head.
He pointed towards the new, fresh, unclaimed white lab coats to the wall and said “I-if yo-you’d take one of the la-lab coats there and-and j-just write your name on it, it’s y-yours from n-n-now until you g-graduate.”

"Hello, Professor," Zeke greeted as he took to his usual seat near the front.
And...
Huh?
The Prof really didn't seem himself. Like. Yeah.
Not wanting to waste time Zeke took his things from his bag, ready to get started. He afforded curious glances at his peers, but otherwise didn't say much else.
The next Gryffindor to walk in was Mr Browne! “H-hello Mr Browne,” Art greeted the sixth year, as he walked in.

Now if he knew how to Fly! If Torrance could fly he could easily float himself down from the Gryffindor Tower to the Grounds then reach the classroom much faster. "G'Morning Mister Professor Potions Master" Too long a title, but not as long as Mister Professor Head of House...Flamsteed got him by one word.
As he went to get all the gear he needed Lab Coat, gloves all that jazz Torrance doubled back. Literally he walked backwards to eye the professor because the guy looked in pain. He eyed him up and down. He went back to his things then after. Making no comment about the Professor's Health. He did look Old so maybe he felt old. Nothing to worry over. His Grandpa had those spells no pun intended every now and then.
Another young Gryffindor walked into his lesson. He always enjoyed seeing the first years graduate into second years, knowing they made it through their first year. Possibly their first year knowing they were a witch or wizard, or even just their first year away from their parents. But coming back to Hogwarts soon came to be like coming back home. “G-good m-m-morning Mr Spades, Gryffindor, Second Year” Art greeted him with a small chuckle.

Normally she would've continued onward towards her seat however she stopped and paused for a moment before the mans desk taking in his appearance and the way he appeared to look about ready to fall over at any given second. "Are you alright Sir? Shall I fetch the Healer?" Yes she was well aware of the fact that this was a potions class and it had crossed her mind that maybe he had taken something but there was no harm done in asking.
If the professor did need anything she wouldn't be far off as she chose her usual empty seat up front, setting her things down on the table. Hady sat down on her chair and quickly set up her things her eyes drifting towards Professor Newton occasionally to make sure he hadn't tumbled from her seat of anything. Poor guy looked horrible this morning.
And one of his Nobel Prize Slytherins was here now. “Good morning Mm-miss Lynch,” he greeted her, smiling as she also greeted Madame Curie, who gave a few little sniffs towards the sixth year. He still smiled as she expressed her concern, wanting to fetch for Cece. “N-no I-I’m-I’m alright, but th-thank you for your concern.” He would be back to normal in a few hours.

As Janelle entered the classroom, she took a quick look around. "Good Morning Professor", she said brightly. Then she stopped by the sink to wash her hands. Finally Janelle headed over to the first empty seat she saw, which happened to be next to a familiar face. "Hey Zeke", she said, as she claimed her workstation. Janelle immediately began to clean her equipment in preparation for the lesson. What could they be brewing today? No clues from the ingredients because everything seemed to be covered up. She would just have to wait and see, she guessed.
“Good m-morning Miss Guidry,” Art greeted the OWL level Ravenclaw. He was aware of the stress this year would be placing on the fifth and seventh year students. It always pleased him to see young witches or wizards washing their hands the old fashioned muggle way before a Potion’s class.

Well, then, there was no need for her to ask that, so putting on her sweetest smile ever (that looked fake), she greeted the man: "Good day, Professor." Then, she proceeded to find a seat at the very front, to prove that she was a nice student.
Another fresh graduate out of first year was here. Art smiled at the young Ravenclaw. “Good m-morning Miss Moss,” he said. How lovely to see someone else smiling at this time of the morning. He watched as she took up a spot at the front. What a keen learner, she must be.

The next student to enter class was one of his other Nobel Prize winners. “Good m-morning Miss V-Valentine,” Art greeted her. He nodded and let out a little chuckle, only a little one. He didn’t want to give his lungs another coughing fit. “I-I’m okay, than-thank you.”

She found a seat near the rear of the classroom and prepared herself for what she was sure to an extremely taxing class.
Achoooo!!!
The next student to walk in was a freshly sorted Hufflepuff who… was sneezing. “G-good m-m-morning Miss Blaze, a-are you o-okay?” he asked. “A-a-are you unwell or-or d-do you have some a-allergies?” he had potions to help for both, if she needed.

Noting the covered ingredients as he unpacked his bag, the fifth years curiosity spiked, and he caught himself looking around at the other people in the room to see what they were making of all of the secrecy.
“M-Mr Fletcher, g-good morn-morning,” Art greeted the OWL level Slytherin. He would have nodded in response, but he was sure a gesture as big as that would probably put his neck out or something.

And Professor Newton was in a chair. He was never sitting when they came into class. "Hey, Professor Newton...why are you in a chair?" It was a valid question, even if it didn't sound like one. She grabbed her lab coat and made her way up to the front. To Mossy, actually. Not Rachel which was her norm. Well, being in the front did have the benefit of being able to get Professor Newton's help with whatever potion they were doing today.
Sitting down next to her best frenemy, Hadley smiled. "I've made up my mind, Moss. I'm not giving up on our friendship, so sorry, not gonna do it." 'It' in this case was Hads staying away from Mossy forever. "Besides, you need me. You just don't realize it. But," she added, quickly, before the Mosster could leave, or shove Hadley out of her chair. "Me sitting here means you get to see what a total disaster I am at potions, thus proving you're better than me to everyone, including Newton!" Come on, Mossy, you know you can't pass that up. Huh?
And Art was always pleased when students experimented with what they were brewing, even if it did end in disaster. “G-good m-morning Miss Denaker,” Art greeted the second year Ravenclaw, who seemed to like knowing the answers to her curiosities. “M-my l-legs just n-need a break,” he explained. And his back. And feet, and… well, everything really.

And with a departing smile, the Ravenclaw went to go sit down and unpack his things. Whilst inspecting the classroom, he discovered that his Gryffindor was in here but her attention was...taken by something.
The something that next caught his attention (only because it had hers) was the table of covered things.
They...were in a Potions class, right? But they couldn't possibly be using something that required covering, could they? Was it a dead body..?
Art let out a laugh, which turned into a few coughs. At first it was only a few feeble coughs, but they soon turned into something more powerful. After a brief moment, it subsided and he just smiled, trying not to chuckle again. “I’ve f-felt better too, Mr Bronwyn,” he admitted. He gave a very gentle and slow nod of his head. “T-thank you, I’ll p-probably take you up on that-that offer. A-and j-j-jolly good job of P-prefect!” he added.

She nodded at him in lieu of a hello and took her seat. Curiosity now turned to the ingredients being covered up.
Art wasn’t upset that the next student didn’t offer a hello. Instead, he took a few sips from the goblet of water he had next to him. His throat was getting a bit dry. But he was a friendly man, and he had to say “G-good m-morning Miss N-Newman.” Almost a Newton, but a -man instead of a -ton. The thought got a small chuckle from the man. Man, not –man.

Plopping into the seat she smiled a bit and pushed her hair over her shoulder.
WHAT WAS UNDER THAT CLOTH MAN!? Dora needed to know. Now.
Even more Gryffindor students! Art smiled at the young lion as she walked in and said “H-hellllllllo Miss Umbridge.” He was finding it trickier to move from one letter to the next, with this silly potion. But the words eventually came out which was the main thing.

Well now. This one was full of beans! Art chuckled at the energy the young man had for Potions. He, too, was like that. Although the thought alone of bouncing around like that almost put his back out. “H-hhhhello Mr Baltazar,” Art greeted the second year Slytherin. “I-I’m good,” he said, which wasn’t quite a lie. “Ho-how are you?”

The same applied to everyone else as Daxton habitually took up the seat as close to the door - and the way out - as he could get, and regarded in other occupants in the room with the utmost suspicion.
Obviously.
Art was taking another drink from his goblet as the next student walked in. By the time Art could look at the young Ravenclaw, he was already seated. But he didn’t have his lab coat on. “H-h-hello M-Mr P-Prince,” Art greeted him, knowing that his greeting wouldn’t be returned. He assumed that Daxton would get his lab coat when they started brewing the potion.

Art chuckled, trying to only let it come out gently, to avoid another coughing fit. Great Scott, some of these students were honest little humans, weren’t they? “W-well I-I don’t feeeeeel too bad,” he said, still chuckling. He gave the young Slytherin a smile and nodded “T-thank you Miss Stevens.”

Blaise walked into the room, hardly paying attention to anything.
Art greeted the next young Gryffindor to walk in with a nod and a smile. “G-good mo-morning Mr Bellaire.” Art didn’t notice much, with the young lad looking tired. He, himself, felt a bit too uncomfortable with how he was feeling to be noticing too much about the other students. But that would change once the potion wore off, he was sure.

Jace quietly slipped inside the Potions Classroom, and gave the professor a bow in greeting. There's no need to greet him out loud since he has decided to stay at the very back of the room, close to...what's the older boy's name? The one who doesn't seem to talk? Daxter? Dexter? Daxton? Quietly, he placed his bag on the shared work station, and inclined his head to the older boy. Hi, hello?
The young Japanese Ravenclaw walked in and straight to the back. “Ohayo Gozaimasu, Mr Reed,” Art said in a Japanese greeting. He didn’t mind if people didn’t say hello to him, but he did mind if he ignored people. He wouldn’t do that. So, greetings for everyone!

Another new student! Though this one was a transfer, and was now a Gryffindor! He avoided the temptation to greet her with a Gryffindor RAWR, partly because he didn’t want to embarrass the young lady, and also because he was sure he’d strain an abdominal muscle. “Good mor-morning Miss Newman,” he greeted.
A second year Gryffindor came in next, and Art opened his mouth to greet her, and closed it again. He watched her as she went to take a seat, and felt his eyes lighten as they smiled. Yes, smeyes. Gendry looked around for a place to sit that wouldn't put him near anyone. He wasn't sure he would have much luck as it seemed the class had been filling up prior to his arrival.
Another first year! Another Hufflepuff. This one didn’t seem as outgoing as Miss Phillips but that didn’t matter. “Go-good morning Mr Elwes,” Art said in greeting, remembering his name from the sorting.

HELLO!
And the next, possibly last, student to enter was one very entertaining Mr Meriwether. Art had stopped correcting his Madame Curry to Madame Curie. Besides, his ratbaby didn't seem to mind, so why should Art? "H-hello Mr Meriwether," Art greeted him, and Madame Curie gave a sniff in the young man's direction.
Art wanted to get off his chair to close the door, but he didn’t want to do a big dance of trying to get back onto the chair, in front of all the students. “Miss Tyler, would you mind closing the door for me?” he asked her, as the first student who had offered a hand to him.
Once the door was closed he faced the students and said “F-first lesson of the year, er… n-now today we will be brewing a-a v-very advanced potion, so y-younger stu-students mi-iiiii-iiight want to work with an older student,” or not, it was completely up to them. “Now Miss Pinkerton-Oliveira,” he searched for her face and, “Miss Meadows,” he searched for another face. Once he found them, he asked “Would you be s-so-so kind as t-to lift the cl-oths?” Doing so would reveal a large bottle of ruby red liquid, a medium sized bottle of a solid blackish-brown liquid, a large bowl of what looked like fur balls, a smaller bowl of mottled yellow and brown shards, a bowl of what looked like eyebrows, and a smaller bowl full of thin, long, pink, odd looking spiky things. Each ingredient was also displayed in a small jar, which was for demonstration purposes only. He smiled up at the class and looked at them for a moment. Could they see? “Mr Bronwyn, would y-you be able to pass these ing-gredients around?” he asked the Ravenclaw Prefect, indicating the small jars, rather than the bowls and bottles.
After giving the students plenty of time to look at each of the ingredients, he said “Who wo-would like to take a gu-guess at what we might be bre-brewing today?” he asked.

Abby looked at the ingredients and raised her hand and said "Are we brewing an ageing potion or something similar" Abby wasn't sure but she thought she would take a guess better to get something than being silent
Miranda turned red in the face as Professor Newton addressed her issue which of course required the tissue she pulled out of her robes. " al...ala... akchoo!!!!Allergies , Sir"
Miranda couldn't wait to see all of the ingredients they were to be using today. Well, that and she was dead nervous as to whether any of the older students would want to work with her for this lesson. She looked around eyes huge with anxiety by the time her bit of ingredients finally made it to her table.

Well even surprising himself with an O on his potions OWL Dante walked into potions not miserable for once. Which was a shock. But really everyone that had seen him blow up or mess up any potions was either graduated or a seventh year. Not that he cared. or was Liv the Professor there for a second. Well it would be amusing for a couple minutes. Until the actually Professsor could control. Which with his age who knows if he would be able to if it became like the class with Quigley that one time. Dante still missed that man.
Anyway Professor Newton was stammering or stuttering so class was starting.
A potion
That is what they would be brewing today. With that Dante tried to give that look where he would kill anyone who would want to partner with him.

Cal entered the classroom, a bit cautiously with his head down. He was kind of afraid to look anyone straight in this eyes since his...fiasco...at the feast. Least to say, the mere thought of pumpkin pastries made him sick. He did look up quick enough to note where Daxton Prince was in order to sit COMPLETELY opposite the room from him. During that moment, the boy also caught sight of the professor and his...shakiness. Man, does age catch up fast.
Oh potions. She was ready to get this. She had this. Oh yes she did, she had skipped the entire way to the potions classroom. Not that the Hufflepuff common room was a great distance from the classroom. She was showing off her excitement for yet another potions lesson. It was nearly almost always a mystery as to what they would be learning and brewing everytime they had a lesson.
That was what Kat enjoyed the most from potions, many many possibilities. She was in her seat. Not wanted to sit with anyone. Well for her sanely she was sitting alone and far way from Brady and Cornelius. It was easier this way. Plus if she sat with either of them, they were sure to get into trouble sitting together, or even just picking one of them. She knew that Brady would get mad if she sat with anyone else.
At lease the lesson was now and she didn't have to worry because she was going to have to find a older student to help her with this advanced stuff. Kat watched the unveiling of the things at the front. What was this stuff eyeball, fur balls "Are we brewing a potion to make a mad scientist fuzz ball?" Was there even a potion for that? That should be a thing it would be so cool.

Professor Newton was saying that he was okay, but Esme wasn't so sure on the matter judging by his behaviour. "Are you sure you don't want me to get Healer Murdoch?" she asked with some concern. She really liked Professor Newton a lot, okay. He was awesome. And even if he WASN'T she would have been worried about him.
Advanced potion though?
That was a little surprising. Esme had figured that wouldn't be coming up until later on, but Rat Man knew what he was doing and she wasn't going to question him on the matter. She really WANTED to have an answer to the question, but she was no whiz at Potions. She was GOOD at it, but not an expert and she certainly hadn't read up on advanced potions since she wasn't at that level of expertise yet.
