He had kept quiet for a little longer. He knew that this was perfect to talk about in this class but what the heck was going on? He was paying attention but not really understanding what was going on. His head just wasn't in the game right now. Okay, that would probably get boring but Esme LOVED LOVED LOVED the city. Just as much as her twin sister did! Already she was imagining all the fun they would get up to during their next visit to France which would be in a few months. Time needed to go by faster!

As far as fun facts about the tower, there was one that came almost immediately to the forefront of Skylar's mind and it was strange cause it wasn't like she wanted this to happen for years into the future, but since the fun fact on her mind hadn't been mentioned yet - lots of talk about lights, though - Skylar's hand shot into the air. "The Eiffel Tower is an immensely popular proposal spot!" There was a reason why it was called the city of love. Oh how she'd love to be proposed to there ... Years into the future of course

Oooh, time for the interesting fun facts! She loved fun facts. Penelope knew a lot of fun facts about many topics, including the Eiffel Tower. "The Eiffel Tower was constructed with 2,500,000 rivets and 7,300 tonnes of iron." That was a lot of rivets and iron. Amazing how all the bits had been put together to make something so tall. She also knew how many teeth cats have, the three main Greek architectural orders, which elements were liquid at room temperature, and many other facts on various subjects if anyone was interested in knowing. Learning new things was exciting.

Interesting facts..... Hmmmm.... Noelle didn't know much about the Eiffell Tower besides it was beautiful and she wanted to go to it one day. But she was interested and listening to the facts people were throwing around. Wow. The Eiffell Tower was.... Kinda boring... To be honest! Only being honest. Good thing she didn't state that outloud.

But now time for her interesting fact.

"The Eiffell Tower only lights up in a variety of lights once a night for a short period of time. People try and get pictures of it when that happens because it's so beautiful." The only reason she knew that was because her mom had told her.

Fiyero smiled a little when Professor Stewart nodded in his direction. He assumed that meant his pronunciation of the name of that company had been right... or at least not too far off. He listened as Professor Stewart started talking again, jotting down the main points of what she said.

So now they were supposed to name a fact about the Eiffel Tower, but he couldn't think of any. He scratched his head, hoping something would come to him. He was about to give up when he suddenly remembered something his grandmother once told him and raised his hand. "A fire broke out in the Eiffel tower in..." What year did she say that was again? Sometime in the 1950s... "1956. It damaged the top of the tower, and the repairs took a year."

Proposals! Kay was waiting for someone to come up with that, a reminder that Paris was considered a romantic city. “That’s true. It is estimated that 6.8 million people visit each year so I do suspect there would be lots of proposals.’’ Was it possible that young Skylar was dreaming of being proposed to in Paris?

“Yes, a fire did damage the top of the tower. It broke out in the television broadcast room. After the year-long repairs, a new platform as well as live transmission equipment were installed. Did you also know that the top was damaged again but by lightning in 1902?’’

“Now for the fun part of today’s lesson!’’ Kay set down her marker to go back to her desk. From under it came four medium sized coolers. “I haven’t planned any kind of activity for today but rather I thought I would give you all a treat. I have here, the ingredients for a French dessert called Chocolate Liégeois. It is a version of another dessert called Café liégeois which is made it coffee flavoured ice cream. Chocolate Liégeois, as the name suggests, is made from chocolate ice cream.’’ She beamed at the class. She had spent a good while researching on a dessert she thought the students would like. Kay knew that many of the Hogwartians favoured chocolate related things. “Not to worry. If you’re not fond of sugar, I have sugar free ice cream.’’ She pointed at the coolers. One the front of each were either labeled “Regular Chocolate Ice cream”, “Regular Vanilla ice cream”, “Sugar free Chocolate Ice cream” or “Sugar free Vanilla ice cream’’.

“Now, this is a simple enough ingredient to make. It requires two scoops of chocolate ice cream and one scoop of vanilla ice cream. Like so.’’ She grabbed one of the cups that she had secured as a serving dish to add one scoop of chocolate ice cream to it. Next, a scoop of vanilla ice cream was added and then topped by another scoop of chocolate ice cream. “To top it off, or garnish it, we add some Chantilly cream which is also called whipped cream. I also have some dark chocolate shavings as an extra topping.’’ When Kay was finished preparing her Liégeois, she held it up for the class to see.

“Come on up! I’ve got enough ingredients for you all to make at least one serving for yourselves.’’ Just let her get this model of the Tower out of the way so that she could add containers containing cups, spoons, scoopers, the dark chocolate and whipped cream next to the coolers.

OOC: HIIIIIII! *sprinkles love on you all because yal make me happy* This is the final bit of the lesson so go forth and have fun making that dessert! Yaaaay.

Except... Esme didn't like chocolate and that seemed to be rather a lot of chocolate involved and she didn't like chocolate. At all. Never ate it unless forced to and who in their right mind would force someone to eat something that they didn't like??? A weirdo, that was who.

She raised her hand. "Professor, I don't like chocolate. Can I just... use plain vanilla? Because yeah. She didn't want to eat chocolate.

Juno shook her head at her sister. She still to this day could not figure out WHY Esme didn't like chocolate. It was the strangest thing. "Es...you may be my identical twin, but you are just crazy for not liking chocolate. I still love you though." She grinned and winked at her sister before grabbing her own cup to start making her ice cream.

She grabbed the scoop for the regular chocolate, (because who likes sugar free?), and scooped a rather large scoop and basically had to shove it in her cup. Then she moved to the regular vanilla and scooped another very large scoop. She then dumped as much chocolate as she could over her ice cream before topping it off with a lovely little dollop of Chantilly cream and dusted some dark chocolate over the top. "Oh, yeah baby!" She was almost too excited for this.

Janelle was fascinated by the many facts presented about the Eiffel Tower. There was a lot that she hadn't known and she made sure to file the information away in her brain. She might be able to put it to good use at a later date. Then came the surprise. The main activity was ice cream! "I love you Professor Stewart", Janelle thought. Ice cream, and chocolate at that. This might have been the absolute best class ever.

Janelle did not need to take notes for this activity. This she could definitely remember. She got up from her seat and headed toward the sweet stuff. You didn't have to tell her twice. Janelle stood in line and when her turn finally came, she was almost salivating in anticipation of the yummy goodness. She took a cup and picked up a scoop. In went the ice cream.....chocolate, vanilla, chocolate......just like Professor Steward had instructed. Next it was on to the whipped cream. Janelle gave herself a generous helping of that, 'cause.......whipped cream, yeah! One more thing to add and Janelle would not be missing this. She got a spoon and sprinkled chocolate shavings atop her masterpiece. It looked sooooo good and she couldn't wait to taste it.

Getting a spoon of her own, Janelle took her ice cream back to her seat. The she realized something. The professor had said there was enough for everyone to get at least one. Did that mean there was the possibility of two Chocolate Liégeois'? That was a totally greedy thought, but one could not be faulted for selfishness when ice cream was involved.

Ummmmm. Food? From a professor? NO THANK YOU!! Dora didn't even want to touch it. Seemed like they were poisoning food around this school lately. Ugh.

But people were going up there? Whoa. Maybe she could wait and see of anyone turned WONKY from touching it? So, she sat and waited... for now. One thing was certain, though. That ice cream was not going in her mouth!

Azura was all about this and she smiled happily as she carefully bounced up to the front of the class room and started to make her tasty desert. "Thank you Professor!" She said with a happy smile as she took a bowl and started to fill it with two scoops of regular chocolate ice cream, and then put a scoop of Vanilla on top of that.

A small scoop of Chantilly cream came after along with the dark chocolate shavings..

Azura moved back to her seat and slowly dug into her sweet treat.. Ugh.. Best Class ever!!!

She put a spoonful of the ice cream into her mouth and nearly melted. So yummy...

"That looks delicious," said Kitty as she ogled the Café liégeois. She couldn't wait to taste it herself!

She approached the area where they were making ice cream and started.Two scoops of chocolate ice cream and one scoop of vanilla ice cream. Kitty did medium sized scoops and combined the ice cream. First she took two scoops of sugar free chocolate ice cream, but then she followed up with one scoop of normal vanilla ice cream. There was no reason why she did this other than that she wanted to see if the kinds mixed good together. Back at home they never ate sugar free ice cream. Kitty wondered if it would taste basically the same. Then she topped it off with Chantilly cream. "Chantilly," she muttered out loud, liking the way the word rolled off her tongue.

When she was done she turned towards Professor Stewart and said, ""Thank you Professor for the lesson, and for the ice cream too. We should do this again next time." She smiled earnestly and went to sit down to eat her ice cream.

Kay had thought about the fact that students would not like chocolate after she had already secured the flavours. She could have face palmed herself but then she thought that possibly they would vanilla only. So she was relieved when Esme inquired on whether she could use just that. "That's quite fine. Yet another Ravenclaw with great manners! "It's my pleasure, Ms Valentine! I'm am pleased that you enjoyed it and I'll definitely see about having another treat next term.'' These kiddos motivated her to keep at doing her job to the best of her abilities.

When Professor Stewart had said she didn't have an activity planned for them but simply a treat, Skylar had to admit she felt slightly disappointed. They couldn't make any mini Eiffel Tower replicas out of Popsicle sticks or something? But oh well, she was just the student and the dessert DID sound lovely and delicious.

Taking a dish, Sky scooped one scoop of chocolate than one vanilla and then added her second scoop of chocolate. Layers, HELLO!! Taking the Chantilly cream, the first year deliberated over it a moment to decide how to much add and finally garnished her ice cream with EXTRA of the cream - as in like way more than was necessary. Sprinkling some of the chocolate shavings, Sky beamed at it a moment as she let the professor have a look at her masterpiece. "Thank you Professor for a great first term! So you doing anything exciting over the summer?" and of course that first term was for herself as the professor ...

With a small shrug, Esme smiled at Juno. "And I still love you even if you are crazy enough to love chocolate." Hehe. Wink. Honestly she didn't understand what most people thought was amazing about the stuff. Everyone besides Oliver thought she was weird not to like chocolate but she thought that it was rather gross. He understood but then he was amazing like that.

AWESOME.

She could use plain vanilla!!

Not everyone made exceptions and it was always nice when they were allowed. "Thank you, Professor Stewart!" Esme said as she went to get started on her treat. Shame there wasn't any coffee ice cream to choose from because that would be rather nice but no matter. At least she wasn't being forced to eat something that she didn't want to. That would have been rather mean and Professor Stewart was always so friendly. Smiling, added one, two, three scoops of vanilla ice cream to her bowl before adding some whipped cream on top. Oooh, fancy.

Dark chocolate shavings were gross so she was just going to abstain from them. Yeeeeeah.

"Thank you for the lesson and ice cream," she told the Professor as she headed back to her seat to eat her vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Delicious.

ICE CREAM! So far the lesson had been pretty boring. Just talking about the eiffel tower was not his idea of a fun class. He didn't even listen to half of the 'fun facts' because to be honest they were not really fun at all. But he definitely perked up when ice cream was mentioned and did mostly listen to the directions. Except when it was time for him to go up he was mostly concerned with what would taste best instead of how it was supposed to be made.

One scoop of chocolate ice cream. Then a scoop of vanilla ice cream, followed by another scoop of chocolate. And he definitely had the ice cream with sugar in it. Who would want sugar free? To top it all off he added a fairly large amount of whipped cream. Olly took the whole thing back to his desk and dug in. What a great class.

There really isnt much that he can say about the Eiffel Tower other than what he's already said-- well maybe other than the fact that Superman rescued Lois Lane there from terrorists, but then he knew that wasn’t quite what the Professor was looking for.

But if you could only imagine how much his blue green eyes lit up when the Professor mentioned Café Liégeois. That much he understood and yes he knew theres a non-caffeinated version of it. So of course he leapt up at the first chance when they could have ICE CREAM! "Professor this is AWESOME!"

But of course his Master Chef inclinations wont take a back seat just because his tummy started to grumble audibly. He took a glass and scooped some chocolate ice cream-- the regular kind of course, why muck about with the weak stuff like sugar free-- and began melting it in the glass with a simple heating spell.

All melted? Then he began mixing some Chantilly cream and a scoop of vanilla ice cream and melted those two as well, lightly mixing them with the chocolate soup at the bottom. Then a good ol' freezing charm to set the piece together. Aye its looking good!

He then began to pile on the chocolate and vanilla ice cream, one on top of the other then a healthy helping of that sweet Chantilly cream. Plus those chocolate shavings of course.

Oh man almost perfect. But maybe one more thing, because if French cuisine is one thing, its being fanceh. "Professor do we have like wafers or a cone or something? It will give a nice texture to all this richness."

They got to make an ice cream dessert and eat it! That was so cool! Hattie loved dessert. She really had a sweet tooth, so she was super excited to have some ice cream. She smiled as she listened to the Professor explain the dessert they were having. It sounded really yummy, and she was actually really excited. She loved ice cream so much. Beaming, she got up and went to collect her correct ingredients.

She then set herself back down at her desk. She was super excited. She kind of just wanted to eat it straight away to be honest. She carefully put her two scoops of chocolate ice cream into her dish, following by the one scoop of vanilla. She may have licked the spoon in between too, because she was feeling a little naughty today. But only she was ting from it, so she was super okay with that. She kind of wanted to eat more ice cream now. But onto making the rest of her dessert first.

Finally she added the special named cream, and put some chocolate shavings on to. "Ooh. You look so yummy." She murmured, as she looked at her dessert. She smiled, as she took a taste of her dessert. "Yummy!" And then she looked over at her best friend Skyler. "Sky! It's yummy right?"

So they were having ice cream today? Cool! (no pun intended) Not quite the same as a party, but still awesome. Somehow Fiyero knew this class was going to be fun!

He listened as Professor Stewart told them how to put the dessert together. He wasn't even going to try to pronounce that long L-word she used, but whatever it was called it sounded tasty! He grabbed a cup from the front of the room and filled it with two scoops of chocolate ice cream. He was tempted to add a third and just skip the vanilla part -because, hey! You could never have too much chocolate - but he decided to try it Professor Stewart's way. He topped it off with the chantilly cream and extra chocolate before carrying the dish back to his desk, taking extra care not to spill it.

He sat down and took a bite of the dessert. Mmmmm... that was delicious! "Thanks for the ice cream, Professor!" he said. "It's really good!"

Not everyone made exceptions and it was always nice when they were allowed. "Thank you, Professor Stewart!" Esme said as she went to get started on her treat. Shame there wasn't any coffee ice cream to choose from because that would be rather nice but no matter. At least she wasn't being forced to eat something that she didn't want to. That would have been rather mean and Professor Stewart was always so friendly. Smiling, added one, two, three scoops of vanilla ice cream to her bowl before adding some whipped cream on top. Oooh, fancy.

Dark chocolate shavings were gross so she was just going to abstain from them. Yeeeeeah.

"Thank you for the lesson and ice cream," she told the Professor as she headed back to her seat to eat her vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Delicious.

"You're both welcome!'' As were all of her other students who seemed to be enjoying the ice cream. Most of them at least. Still, she was generally pleased with how smoothly things had gone this time around. Kay looked fondly around at her students. How she loved them all!

Then Kay heard the voice of Tenacious calling to her. With her own dessert in hand, she approached him with a few shakes of her head. "I'm sorry, I don't have any but if you decide to take an extra helping, you can certainly check with the House elves. They'll possibly have.'' She was so sorry to disappoint her students.

Just when she was about to dig into her dessert, Sky glanced over at hearing her name and beamed. She actually didn't NEED to glance to recognize the voice of whom was speaking to her. "Haven't tried it yet but if it has sugar in it, then yes!" Sky grinned, as she finally took a spoonful to her mouth and made a faint humming noise. No second helpings for her, thank you. As good as this was she was going to be stuffed and bouncing off the walls as it was.

She looked over at Hattie again ... A twinkle in her eye ... "You know a professor is a new when she gives us sweets. I don't think she realizes just how hyper youngsters can get," Sky whispered over at her bestie, and then giggled. Her next teacher was going to hate them.

Kaycee knew attending this lesson was a good idea. HELLO DESSERT!

She did as instructed, trying her best not to add more ice cream than necessary. Okay. One scoop of chocolate. Check. One scoop of vanilla. Check. Then a final scoop of chocolate.

Boo yah.

She then added the whipped cream and chocolate shavings.

"Thank you, Professor." she said on the way back to her seat. She then happily began to enjoy her Chocolate Liégeois.

Azura smiled at Professor Stewart as she said she could have another helping, "Thank you so much, but I don't think I'll be able to get through this one."

Cause ugh, this was amazing and Azura was having trouble not wolfing unit down, but she tried to eat it slowly, to savor the richness. It was all so good and now she really wanted to go to Paris, not just for the Eiffel Tower but also for the desert!

Kay replied to each of her students including Kaycee with a 'You're Welcome!' Such great manners they had. She made a mental not to include a treat like this for her class at least once a school year. "That's quite fine, Ms Kennedy,'' she said with a wink. "I know it could be quite a bit to take two helpings at once.''

"Class is dismissed once you have finished up. Thank you for attending.'' She would clean up after they left. There was not much to do, anyway, so she did just that after all of the students were gone. Once done, she locked her class's door behind her.
