Muggle Studies 3: Muggle Structures: The Eiffel Tower

On this beautiful morning, as usual, Professor Stewart is standing at her classroom’s door as she eagerly awaited the arrival of her students. Her long, dark hair was done in a French braid (though the style did not necessarily originate in France) and she had decorated the class in colours of blue, red and white. Why ever those particular colours? You’ll just have to wait and see if you have not as yet taken a wild guess. However, with those additions and the lack of her laptop present today, the classroom remained otherwise unchanged from the last lesson.

The woman greets you individually and after she does, you may take a seat to await the start of the lesson.

OOC: Howdy, guys! :doof: Welcome, welcome to the final OOC MS lesson. Have your charries take a seat and have a bit of a chat with their friends but don’t go overboard ;) Class will officially commence in about 24 hours. Have fun! Pssst. I hope you remembered to re-familiarise yourself with Kay's rules! CLASS HAS STARTED!

Lesson Progression:
1. Name the replica/ Where can it be found?
2. Who designed or created the Tower?
3. List a fun fact about the Tower!
4. Activity time!
5. Second helping, anyone?
6. Four hour warning!

Azura was wide awake and happy to go to muggle studies this morning, she really loved this class, in fact all of her classes this year were pretty fun. The purple eyed teen entered the classroom and looked around for a moment before she smiled at Professor Stewart.

" Good morning Professor Stewart, How are you?" She asked as she moved towards her seat.

Were they learning about France today? Or the US? Maybe even the UK? So many countries has red, white and blue as their colors.

ginnilie 07-18-2016 03:51 AM

Arielle was very excited for Muggle Studies, because she lived in a town of muggles, even though she was pureblood. Anything that could help her better understand her community always made her feel good. Bouncing into the classroom, Arielle exclaimed "Hey Professor Stewart! I'm excited for the lesson today!" She was sure the professor could tell though, because there was a huge smile on the little first year's face. She made her way to her seat and sat down, swinging her legs in her chair and resting her arms on her desk.

Saz Hale 07-18-2016 05:46 AM

Abby walked into the final muggle studies lesson of the term and said "Good morning Professor Stewart" Abby took a seat in the middle of the class and wondered what they were going to be learning about today

Steelsheen 07-18-2016 07:08 AM

Ok the patriotic colors caught his eye. He didn’t know if he should salute the Professor or start singing the national anthem-- which national anthem even-- since he technically can sing to the President or to the Queen (ooc: its 2090s so… King?).

"Good morning Professor Stewart." the leonine lad grinned brightly. That he didn’t have to wonder what to do. "Feeling quite patriotic today." thumbs up!

And there he goes, taking his seat, drumming a slight beat on his desk to a rock version of the Star Spangled Banner.

As Penelope walked into the classroom, she examined her surroundings. Interesting, everything was decorated with red, white, and blue. There were many countries that had red, white, and blue flags. The United Kingdom, the United States of America, France, Russia, and the Netherlands were a few examples. Perhaps the French braid was a clue, although the French braid did not actually originate in France. Similar braided hairstyles could be found in many ancient cultures. The notice on the board had said something about having a sweet tooth, so maybe the lesson would involve sweet food. If that was the case, it didn't seem like the sort of lesson that Penelope would particularly enjoy as she didn't eat sweet things, but perhaps there would still be something to be learned without eating anything. "Good morning, Professor Stewart. Love the hairstyle." Penelope had never quite gotten the hang of French braids. There were so many bits to keep track of, with pulling in new sections of hair all the time. She would have to find someone who was good at French braiding to show her how to do it properly. Penelope found a seat and pulled out fresh parchment and a quill for taking notes. While waiting for class to start, she ran her fingers through her hair a few times and started to braid her hair.

Janelle was looking forward to Muggle Studies class. It always seemed to put her in a good mood. She entered the classroom and was overwhelmed with the red, white and blueness of the many decorations. Janelle was one who always tried to guess what the lesson would be about when she arrived at classes. Given the color scheme, she wondered if they might be learning about the country of her birth, the U.S...........or maybe her current home, France. She guessed she'd find out soon enough.

"Good Morning Professor Stewart", Janelle said, as she walked by on the way to her desk. Once there, she sat down and took out her pen and notebook. Finally, she grabbed her textbook and put it on her desk. Now she just had to wait for class to begin.

Fiyero wished he was old enough to learn to apparate. That would make getting to Muggle studies class a whole lot easier! Still, muggle studies was a fun class, so he didn't mind too much that it was so far away from Gryffindor tower. As he approached, he saw Professor Stewart standing at the door and gave her a small smile. "Good morning, Professor." he greeted her.

He blinked, peering around the room at all the red, white, and blue decorations. It looked like someone was throwing a Captain America-themed party in the muggle studies classroom! Were they having a party today? That didn't really sound like something Professor Stewart would do, but still, that would be awesome! He sat at a desk in the front row and arranges his supplies in front of him, eager to find out what today's lessoon was about.

As Skylar made her way into the muggle studies classroom, she took in her surroundings, feeling surreal about this being her final muggle studies class of her first year. After this, she'd no longer be the baby in Hogwarts any longer. And truthfully, well, Sky was both exhilarated and nervous at the prospect of others looking up to her.

Her own hair was done in a half ponytail style, pulled into a full ponytail, but seeing the professor's hairstyle made her wish for braids. Ah well, next time. "Morning Professor Stewart!" Sky greeted, as she took a seat somewhere in the middle of the classroom...

Red white and blue?
What was all this??

Noelle took a look around the classroom as she entered. America? USA? United States?? Noelle was confused. Hopefully They wouldn't be learning about America.

But professor Stewart was a great professor so Noelle knew she hd something up her sleeve. She waved at the professor before taking a seat by the bestie. Azura. She unpacked her things and got ready for class to start.

Kaycee was pretty familiar with the muggle world. So, while this class might have been unnecessary to her education, Muggle Studies had a certain reputation that she completely was willing to take advantage of.

Plus, who could resist a class where a "sweet tooth" was listed on the requirements?

"Hello Professor." the Prefect greeted as she passed. She then took an empty seat and waited for the class to begin.

oh its Erik ok 07-19-2016 01:42 AM

Muggle Studies

Why??

Was Dante first question every-time he came in. Then once he did that he just sighed and went to his seat. The only useful thing this class could do is help Dante get his driver license. Only muggle related thing he cared about right now. And since it obviously wont. Dante will complain like he always does.

So be ready for that Stewart.

"Professor Stewart"

Dante nodded and took a seat next to Kaycee.

Hopefully it wont be as boring now

Lovely! Her first student happened to be a young Ravenclaw. Kay was pleased to see the girl was alert and ready for the lesson. “Good morning, Ms Kennedy. I an quite well, thank you for asking! I hope you are as well? Azura had certainly looked better from since the start of the term.

My, my! Wasn’t Arielle quite a bouncy and eager student today? The woman’s blue eyes twinkled. “Hello there, Ms Lestrange.’’ She laughed softly. “Yes, I see that! I hope you enjoy what I have planned for today.’’

Here was a Ravenclaw not much for words but she received an enthusiastic greeting from Kay. ”Good morning to you too, Ms Valentine!’’

Was there ever a time when Tenacious came to classes mopey or out of it? Today was yet another one of those days that Kay reflected on what a joy it was to have him full of energy. She smiled broadly. “Good morning, Mr Salander! Maybe I am.’’ She was keeping everything about the lesson a secret… for now.

Kay could see the Head Girl’s wheels turning in her head. Not literally, of course, but it was obvious Penelope was trying to guess what the lesson would be about. “Good morning, Ms Wright! Why, thank you. I thought I would try something different today.’’

Here came a student that usually excels in the Muggle Studies classes and Kay would like to think it was the same for the rest of classes as well. “Good morning, Ms Guidry!’’ The girl was given a smile before she went to find a seat.

Ah, not quite time to shut the door as yet. “Mr Barrington. Hello!’’ Kay had gotten the feeling that Dante was not quite fond of Muggle Studies but she always hoped that one day that would change. Each lesson she hoped for that, in fact, and today was no different.

* * * * * * *

The professor checked her watch. It was 10 AM which meant it was time to get the lesson started. She shut the door then moved to the front of her class. “Hello again, everyone! Welcome to another Muggle Studies lesson. You all must be wondering why the dominance of those three particular colours today.’’ She paused to beam around at them all. The time had come to reveal… “Today, we’ll be focusing on a very famous landmark. Now, the landmark is situated in the country whose flag the three colours are painted upon.’’ Yes, she knew there were multiple countries with the same three but not all of them housed the object of their focus.

Kay moved behind her desk and from under it, lifted a replica of the landmark. It was a pretty light replica in terms of weight and all little more than half of her height which brought it to about three and a half feet.

“Who can tell me the name of this landmark or where it is located?” Remember to raise your hand!

OOC: HIIIII! Class has officially commenced so do NOT post any late arrivals of your charries or you will loose House points. We will resume in 24 hours :)

PhoenixRising 07-19-2016 03:19 AM

When Professor Stewart introduced the lesson. Sky just wanted to be all likei knew it. Cause of the colours and the French braid and really it just made a whole lot of sense.

The first year's hand shot in the air though when she asked about what landmark it was and where it was located. "That would be the Eiffel Tower!", Sky spoke up enthusiastically. A dream of hers to visit there with a significant other; one day.... And she'd leave the where it's located for someone else to answer.

Steelsheen 07-19-2016 03:30 AM

Oh! Well this Curly Top didn’t really think very far with the red white and blue beyond the stars and stripes or the union jack did he? But yeah France did have the same coloration with their flag just not as cool a design cough. "J'aime Paris!" he replied as he raised his hand, or rather twirled it in a flair. Something his grandmother always says. And probably the most French he could every spout other than French Fries.

But, speaking of patriotism he gotta wonder "Professor, are you French?"

Saz Hale 07-19-2016 03:49 AM

Abby knew that landmark and raised her hand and said "That is the Eiffel Tower in Paris" Abby had actually been up the Eiffel Tower many years ago when she was on holiday in France

littledhampir 07-19-2016 06:14 AM

Olly had not really noticed any particular change in the decor of the classrooms. Colors were not really things he paid attention to regularly. So he did have any guesses as to the subject of the lesson until class actually started. When he saw the figuring he definitely knew what it was. How could he not? Who would not know the Eiffel Tower when they saw it? "That's the Eiffel Tower," he said. Yes he knew that several other people had already answered the question, but there wasn't much else for him to say. He didn't like to stay quiet.

MunchyBubbles 07-19-2016 06:18 AM

Azura's purple eyes went wide as the Professor revealed the replica of the Eiffel Tower!

She had been right!! They were going to study France today and she was mentally flailing because the teen loved France and it was a dream of hers to see the Eiffel Tower!

The Raven haired girl's hand went into the air and she said with a happy smile, "That's the Eiffel Tower! "

Yeah there was slight bouncing going on but for the most part Az was keeping her excitement inwards.

For the most part.

TeafortheSoul 07-19-2016 06:28 AM

Oh so they were learning about FRANCE? Cool. Not that Char needed lessons on France!!! She knew stuff! Also she spoke French fluently and had been there a TON.

She put her hand up and added onto the answers already given.

"Its on the Champ de Mars, in Paris!"

Erindipity 07-19-2016 06:48 AM

Also hello Char!

Dora had been WATCHING. Everything and everyone! And Paris. Siiiigh. Her mum had a house in Bergerac and she had spent many a day in Paris over the years. Her 14 year old self had lived life!

Not really.

But there was Char... and she had plopped herself RIGHT NEXT to her friend and even smiled as she spoke. This was a peace offering smile, yes? Did Charlotte see it?

"The Eiffel Tower," she said with a smile. Now focusing on the professor. Her maybe new favorite professor! She had, after all, gotten Wasabi to act like a normal owl... which was QUITE the feat.

TeafortheSoul 07-19-2016 07:56 AM

we see you

Char being Char just beamed at Dora cheerfully. She seemed in a better mood! That was good! Subsequently she began imagining her and Dora TAKING PARIS BY STORM. Strutting down the streets with shopping bags and wearing oversized floppy hats with big sunglasses!

Were they going to talk about other Parisian landmarks? Because there were cooler ones than the Eiffel tower actually!

ginnilie 07-19-2016 04:08 PM

Arielle's eyes lit up even more than they already were when she saw the replica Professor Stewart pulled out. Her excited little hand shot straight up into the air. "That's the Eiffel Tower! It's in Paris, France!" Arielle grew up in France and having a part of her original culture here at Hogwarts made her face beam with light. She knew she was excited for this lesson before it even began, and this? This was something to be excited for.

WhittyBitty 07-19-2016 04:21 PM

Yep. Esme was not surprised when it was revealed that the focus of today's lesson was France. She had worked it out as soon as she had seen the flag and was rather excited because she loved the country. This was going to be fun but then Muggle Studies was always a good time.

Raising her hand, she said, "It's the Eiffel Tower and it's in Paris, France!" Who cared if other people had already answered? SHE WAS HAPPY.

RachieRu 07-19-2016 05:35 PM

Harriet adored Muggle Studies. Though she had grown up in a family that did have some muggle influence, and her mother taught her about muggles, she didn't know that much. So she loved the classes. It was such a different class to anything else that they learnt at Hogwarts. So it was a pretty refreshing class. She beamed as she looked at the Professor. She was excited. She was excited about everything that they would learn today.

Ooh. She knew that land mark. She'd been to Paris and seen it for herself. "That's the Eiffel tower" Hattie murmured, as she raised her hand into the air. "It's in Paris France, and has been there for ages."

Magical Soul 07-19-2016 07:19 PM

Genny was here. She had some muggle culture in her family but she was raised among wizards most of her life so she didn't see attending Muggle Studies could hurt anyone (better than arithmancy anyway). Leaning forward on her table with her arms crossed, the replica the professor placed on the table was not easily spotted from where she sat. Not that she needed to answer since a lot of people seemed to know what it was.

The Eiffle tower in France. Huh, interesting. She could swear she's heard of it before but would never in a million years remember the name.
