When Hadleigh noticed the name beside her for this upcoming duel all she could do was stare at it. An Auror. Seriously? Like come on be for real here. There was NO WAY she could even stand a chance. Albeit the experience she would get out of this was great but just the idea of going up against someone much older and much more experienced then herself and her fellow peers was rather daunting.

Not to mention she hadn't a clue who this Auror even was. Tyler Bellaire. Any relation to Professor Bellaire? Or Blaise? Sigh. There was no hint to how tough this guy was going to be or what his tactic was. Was he mostly for defense or was he all about taking out the other person as quickly as possible. These were questions that floated through the sixth years mind as she practiced for the upcoming duel.

When the day arrived Hady tried to keep her cool. Play it calm like always. Keep a leveled head. That was her dueling style. Never get angry or upset. Take it all as it comes and respond accordingly to the best of her abilities and this was how she vowed to herself she would handle this.

Entering the arena, dueling uniform on and clean, hair tied back into a tight braid, eyes bright she made her way towards the center of the arena. "Hello Auror Bellaire" the teen greeted politely her usual relaxed grin on her face. She may have looked very calm, like she was about to duel one of her friends for practice but inside the girl was freaking out. Hopefully no one was up in those stands watching this.

Bowing at the waist, hazel eyes locked on the man before her she straightened up, turned and walked several paces away. Fingers flexed instinctively around the smooth wood of her wand which was held at her side, raising to aim at Tyler the second she turned to face him. Only she didn't cast anything at him. Not yet. Whole new tactic was happening this afternoon.

Hady turned her wand on herself casting a quiet 'Feather-light Charm' quickly followed by the 'Disillusionment Charm'. Truth be told she had never used either one of these in a duel but the voice of a certain blonde Gryffindor was loud and clear in her head. 'You're probably the only person who can sneak up on me like that'. Sneaking up on people came easy to her. She was light on her feet, quiet, small and pretty quick. A nice balance of things that might just help her.

The incantation for the second spell was hardly our of her mouth before she was moving. Soft, calculated steps around the area. Wand always at the ready. She wasn't finished though. Not taking full advantage of being invisible would be stupid. With that when she was somewhere off to the left of Tyler she went ahead to cast her next charms the 'homing spell' which was coupled with "Flipendo Tria." She was starting off strong. No messing around. Not after the duels she had this term. No offense to the Auror or anything but if she was going to go down she was going down with everything she had.

Alright he got the memo. Don't hurt them.

Tyler figured he could do that. His eyes locked on the young girl as she entered the dueling area and bowed. He greeting was met with a quiet grunt as he prepared to duel. He raised a brow at the student when she made herself invisible. Well if this wasn't the oldest trick in the book.

As an automatic reaction he muttered "Aparecium" lazily. NO little girl, this one would not do. If she was going to sneak up on an attacker she'd need to be a little bit more creative.

The aparecium spell was succeeded by "Depulso". The auror's swipe of his wand to the left of him was the quickest and movement he'd made since entering the dueling room. As he had spent most of his time in one spot observing the students and keeping an eye out for his nephew.

Well alright then. No actual greeting from this guy. Clearly someone wasn't to thrilled about being here. Possibly he had other places he'd much rather be then here dueling a sixth year girl but that wasn't her fault. At least she was being polite and giving a true greeting. Whatever his silence was about didn't matter. The duel did. As did what she put into it and got out of it in the end.

Now she knew an Auror wouldn't just let her go remaining invisible and that was okay. She knew instantly that she was visible again and that was okay. Hady also knew that Tyler wouldn't just stand there and not send something back at her. She was ready for it. The moment she was visible she gave the movement of her wand casting "Protego". Her eyes never left the man even as her shield went up. She was confused by whether or not her previous spells had made contact with him, it didn't appear so. Nor did it look like he had cast a shield. Interesting.

Now wasn't the time to focus on that though. First she cast a simple nonverbal 'Purple Firecrackers' spell aimed just off to his side as a distraction. Even if it didn't work it was okay. This was quickly followed by a spell she had been working on learning over the last week or so. "Entomorphis." Insects weren't the cutest creatures out there but this was a duel. Spells weren't supposed to be cute.

Jinx and Hexes 101, the stronger spell wins, the stronger dueler wins. Tyler didn't need to deflect her spell because his stronger spell would cancel hers out or send it right back at her, but this wasn't DADA class. He was here for a practical lesson, not theory. He was glad that she appeared to have good reflexes though...that was promising.

It also meant that maybe he would need to stay alert.... or not...

A casual wave of his wand sent another blasting spell at the student. He didn't wait until -morphis- left her lips (shield charms just weren't his thing as an offensive dueler). If they were suppose to be preparing them for the real world, he was about to do just that.

With a swift movement Tyler reached for his other wand and non verbally sent a powerful wave of water at the girl from both wands. He really hoped she at least knew how to hold her breath. He didn't need to be written up for accidentally drowning a student.

Hadleigh was all for moving around the arena. Movement and distance had some advantage to them. That didn't mean her focus wasn't fully on Tyler and she wasn't ready when neither of her spells had any impact on the man. He appeared as calm and cool as ever, more like he had just sat down to watch a game of some sort rather then in a duel. It was definitely something she could appreciate or even learn from.

Barely had she even finished casting the spell then one was being hurtled straight at her. Nearly flinging herself to the floor to get out of the way just as the blasting spell struck where she had been standing. Her arm had raised defensively to shield her head from all the debris that rained down around her along with something wet...

Water?

Good thing she was already kneeling on the floor or she would've been swept off her feet by the amount of water that poured down over her. She was soaked instantly her clothes and hair plastered to her skin. Hazel eyes were forced closed by the force of the spell and she inhaled a breath holding it. Raising her wand she aimed it at herself and cast a nonverbal Bubble-head charm. Now she'd be able to breath.

With a wave of her wand she cast Glacius Duo freezing the waves of water into something of an uneven ice wall. A little moment of coverage was good. The Arrow-shooting spell was aimed upward in somewhat of an arch so that the arrows would come down over the wall of ice. This was her distraction as she crept towards the end of one side of her ice wall (not up against a little away) and looked around to where Tyler was. Since he enjoyed explosions so much...

Bombarda was also sent his way. Not to harm him of course as that wasn't the aim of the duel.

Tyler had to admit that he was a bit impressed. He didn't come here expecting the students to be as good as he was seeing. Hirsh was definitely doing something here with them.

Tyler watched how the student handled the spells that were shot towards her and he smirked. A bubble head and an ice wall...clever.

With one wand, he cast a quick shield which the arrows bounced off of and the other was used to reflected the bombarda spell back towards the ice wall.

"You're going to have to put more intent into these spells of yours." He said almost dryly.

Tyler Bellaire wasn't the only one who was proud right now.

Standing off to one side, Hirsch was smiling all too proudly at the tactics displayed out in the arena today. Sure, he'd warned the Aurors not to hurt his students, but that didn't stop this from being a great duel and it certainly didn't stop Bellaire from giving Miss Lynch a challenge. Good. Really good. That was exactly the point of these Auror duels.

And he was all too glad to see that Miss Lynch certainly wasn't backing down.

Shame that it had to come to a close, really. He'd been enjoying that.

The shield went up, right near the ice wall that the young Slytherin had conjured up. "Excellent! Really and truly." Could they tell how happy he was? "Thank you for your time, Mr Bellaire, I really appreciate it." Maybe he could stay back to let the Professor know how well he thought Miss Lynch did? Any tips would be more than welcome.

Now. As for the Slytherin. "So, Miss Lynch, what did you think? Learnt anything new?" Here's hoping.
