Harriet was so excited for her third duel. She had really enjoyed the other two duels. She hadn't won, but that didn't matter. She was only a first year, so she was not meant to be good at everything. Her siblings were both good at duelling, so maybe they could teach her. But for now, she was really excited about her duel. Maybe she would do good in this one? A girl could only hope.

Hattie smiled at Vivian. She didn't know her too well, but she knew that she was a good friend. Hopefully she would beat her though. She liked her friends, but she wanted to win. She bent, and bowed. They had to do that. It was only good duelling after all.

And now to start. She wanted to get something out fast, so that she would surprise Vivian. Grinning, she moved her wand, before saying the incantation for the Furnunculus spell.

Time actually flew so fast. Vivian was actually skipping towards the dueling arena for her third duel now. She remembered feeling absolutely hyped and sort of nervous during her first. And now, she still felt the same sensation. Excitement, nervousness (not as much though), and her game-face-on feeling. She was ready for this duel, she was confident. As much as she wanted to win too, she was still very down for dueling. Especially with Hirschy around. Ahem.

"Good morning, Professor," she greeted the man, then looked towards her fellow firstie. This time, she wasn't dueling a Gryffindor just like her first two duels. Maybe this would be interesting, eh? She smiled at Hattie. She'd known her by name, though, since her dorm mate Sky was a friend of hers too. Did that make them instant friends too? "Good luck!" Because good sportsmanship was a thing.

When Vivian reached her place, if it was Hattie's intention, she was definitely surprised with that spell. And so BAM! It hit her, obviously. Her hands immediately went to her face, and felt the HORRID BOILS AND PIMPZ GROWING. The Slytherin wibbled. Her FACE. Merlin. What a greaaat way to start a duel, eh?

Wibble. Her turn, though. Vivian dramatically raised her wand as if to cast a Finite to her face but immediately waved it and sent an "Incarcerous!" to the Hufflepuff, a flash of light moving towards her. Anything but her face next time, please?

Harriet very nearly giggled when the pimples started to appear on Vivian's face. She hadn't meant it in a mean way, but it was a fun charm and she had wanted to use it. It had worked too, and she was glad of that. She kept note to try and use that spell again, maybe not in this duel, but in the future. Since it seemed to have gone down well. But for now, she was going to think of her next move. She wanted to win this duel, so she needed to not get distracted

She wasn't sure what her friend was going to do, but she blinked at the charm, and quickly jumped to the side. She knew she should have used magic, but she hadn't been able to think of something to hit back at. Oh well. Jumping around worked too, and it had meant she had missed the spell.

Now she needed to do something in return. She grinned a little, thinking of a charm she wanted to use. Waving her wand, she performed the incantation, and sent a bat bogey hex at Vivian.

Meh, she missed a spell? Really? Vivian grumbled under her breath as she softly and verrrry carefully kept rubbing her palm over her pimple-boiled face. Terrible, indeed! It felt like a nightmare. She'd have to let someone take this off of her soon. It was rather disturbing. And was Hattie giggling? This was not giggle-worthy! What would she feel if she had her face covered in gross things?

And while she was struggling over her face's awful texture and general sight, Vivian was hit by yet another spell. REALLY NOW? For a moment, she thought it was just some random bright light... until her own boogers started attacking her. Now THIS was even gross than her already gross-looking face! The Slytherin kept swatting away her flying boogies. This Paton girl... she'd rather be blinded by Lumos than be harassed by her nose thingies.

Flicking away some flying boogies, Vivian found some space to send her next spell. She waved her wand and said, "Colloshoo!" Hopefully it'll work and glue her shoes in place. Hattie was going nowhere. NOPE.

Hattie was really enjoying this duel. It was fun, and not overly serious. But she was enjoying herself. And watching Vivian get pimples just made her giggle. Maybe that was a little mean, but she knew the other person would probably do it if it was her. So she was going to let herself giggle. And now her bogies were flying all over the place too. This was hilarious! But she needed to concentrate on what she was doing, or she was going to get distracted, and that would not be good at all.

So concentration. Although it was funny. And then she tried to move and found that she couldn't. "Oh..." So she had missed a spell. She pouted, trying to think of the spell she needed to end her feet sticking to the floor. Meanwhile she sent the Ears to Kumquats spell at Vivan

Oh, Vivian was worrying about boils and pimples now? Wait for puberty, kid. Just wait.

Regardless, this seemed like a nice duel, didn't it? It was light-hearted, which didn't take away from the entertainment value. Maybe these two were friends as well? Hm? He'd always thought that that little fact would end up being a problem with duels and would therefore make it more challenging for the participants but he was wrong. Maybe fighting your friend turned out to be better?

Whatever the reason, the two didn't give up. And so, it was with a heavy heart that the man had to call an end to this duel. "Well done, ladies, well done," he said, emerging from his place in the shadows. Was that a dramatic enough entrance? "That was a great display of magic, I have to say. But, Vivian, you've outshone Miss Paton today so you take the lead here. Congratulations! And well done, Miss Paton."

Oh, and one last thing. Hirsch gave his wand a small flick in the direction of both of the girls, eliminating any lasting effects of the spells that had been cast. "I think you're safe to face the population of Hogwarts now." Just saying.
