| h: 150, m: 150, f: 15 ¼ of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pls Katherine couldn't believe that she was paired with the insect boy.
While she was 99% sure that the professor knew nothing about their brief past, she also didn't believe in fate or coincidence, so she showed up at the dueling area with a scarf, hat, gloves, coat and trousers. She had googles to cover her eyes too, so the only visible flesh of her body was her nose, and that was purely because she had to breathe. She didn't really trust people, and while she was 99% sure -again- that the boy would be unable to cast insects out of thin air; you never knew and no one died of too much caution. She didn't even care that she looked ridiculous as dressed like that inside. She didn't want to be stung by an artificial bee created by someone who thought it would be funny, thank you very much.
Anyway, she arrived at the arena and bowed at him. Her voice would be muffled by the scarf, so she didn't bother greeting him. However, she DID hope he would greet her and also hopefully make a comment on how she looked - ie. be distracted by her appearance. Therefore, without wasting one single second, she paced and when she was at the right distance, she swiftly turned to cast a "Titillando!" Without waiting to see whether it hit him or not, she cast a "Protego!" for herself.
The scarf had another pro too: he wouldn't be able to hear clearly what she was casting, so he'd always be on edge.
How had she not thought of this before?

Ahahahahahaha!
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA.
OH MERLIIIIIN. Cornelius coughed in order to stifle a laugh as Katherine entered the arena. Of course he had gotten there early, as he always did. At first sight the boy had thought a gnome clad in clothes from head to toe had escaped from the grounds keeper, but as the person took their stance, Cornelius realized this was indeed Miss Katherine.
LOLOL.
GOSH. This was going to be fun. Katherine has inadvertently helped him a little. Packed with all of that gear on it must have made her a little heavier, a little more constricted, a little SLOWER. Green eyes were already calculating her weak points, - which she had ever so lovely helped with - the gears in his mind turning from amusement to business.
Le-le-leeeet's dueeeel!
Cornelius Orion Baltazar bowed.
Being familiar with those spells, Cornelius recognized the mumbled enchantments. Granted, he was going to have to pay close attention, but even then his goal was to not let ANYTHING she threw at him touch him or get too close. So it really didn't matter what she cast. Not right now anyway. "Protego!" the boy shouted, rebounding the spell back at her, complimenting his efforts with a smirk. How fast was she now?

| h: 150, m: 130, f: 15 ¼ of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pls Katherine ignored the laughter. She preferred to be laughed at rather than being dead, y'see. What she didn't expect was how quick Cornelius seemed to be, but it was well. She'd already put up a shield that would deflect back her already defleated Titillando. So she didn't even wait for it to do so, as soon as he was done putting up his own shield, she sent a "Calavrio!" his way, followed right away by the Bat Bogey Hex.
Let's test that shield, Baltazar! And let's test how obsessed you are with your hair.

| h:150 m:135 f:15 That's Rough Buddy | Be the Flower | Moon & Stars She was going to exhaust herself! Buuuut Cornelius didn't care. This duel was about being smart and winning, just like his mumma had said. After his loss last term he was being nick picky on his strategies.
He side-stepped the rebounded spell, not bothering to deal with it. If he lost energy he wasn't going to be ready for the big finale. And that's what he was going to give her...if she made it that far. Heheheheh.
It was a dangerous move. A really, really, REALLY dangerous move. The boy cast after the second spell was shooting right his way. "Protego!" he shouted, putting his effort and trust in that charm. It was a good thing she cast them so soon after one another because he could feel them crash into his shield.
He smirked.
His strategy was working!
Mum was going to be proud.

| h: 150, m: 103, f: 15 ¼ of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pls Why wasn't he attacking her? Was he going to just defend until she was tired? Katherine didn't think so. Sure, she could put up a shield as well and play a patience game (which she would win, no doubt) with him. He wouldn't even stand a five-minute waiting, she bet. But that was boring, and every shield could be broken with the right attack. "Protego!" she renewed her shield quickly before her own spell could hit her, then she quickly cast the spells in rapid succession: "Expulso!", followed by Cracker Jinx and lastly, a big loud "CONFUNDO!"
IF his shield could withhold this assault of bombs and he wasn't confused, she was quitting.

| h:150 m:125 f:10 That's Rough Buddy | Be the Flower | Moon & Stars HOW WAS THAT LITTLE FIRECRACKER SO FAST?!?!
Cornelius was awesome at dueling and was a top duelist, not mention he WAS TRAINED AT HOME BY A REAL, PROPER AND SUCCESSFUL AUROR. His mumma.
Miss Ravenclaw here must have eaten some kind of super ambrosia or something or she was simply out to KILL HIM. He admired that.
O____________________O
Yeah. She wanted to kill him.
Goodbye, world.
.......
SIKE. SIKE SIKE SIKE!!!!! CORNELIUS ORION BALTAZAR WASN'T GOING DOWN TO A LITTLE GNOME FIRECRACKER.
Especially - especially to a Ravenclaw firecracker.
He was pumped now. Really pumped and what his mum had told him was starting to slowly seep the back of his mind. Slowly forgetting to not get too ahead of himself. He side-stepped the blow of Expulso, paying no attention to the blast it made at the far end wall behind him. In no time his shield was up for the next;strong. "PROTEGO!" He had been waiting for an onslaught of spells. Katherine seemed to be growing annoyed with him, which he was hoping she would. So he wasn't going to lose his cool.
"PROTEGO!" He shouted once more. The shield resisted the spells just barely. Like...if his magic was a muscle it would be sure to be sore tomorrow. Who knows? Maybe his magic will be lackey tomorrow, and if that was true he was suing HER.
Now it was his turn. The boy smirked yet again. Concentrating on his next points he focused on what might be her weak points. She was all stuffy due to clothes so Katherine couldn't possibly be that fast to block this ATTACK. He cast the Jelly-Legs Curse, quickly followed by a Jelly-Fingers Curse.
He smirked again and cast, "INCARCEROUS!"

| urine trouble | Pat's Strong Confident Other Half | Pees Like a Champion Unicorn Racehorse ............... What was Miss Moss WEARING?!
Okay, it wasn't in Hirsch's position to be judging and it certainly wasn't his style to be judging outfits but this was a particularly special case. One that, surely, allowed the judging to happen. The man pushed his glasses further up his nose, all the while wondering whether Katherine Moss had missed the memo and turned up for snowboarding and not a duel.
Because that's what she looked like right now. Someone who was ready to go snowboarding.
Realising that he was staring with a rather confused look on his face, the man readjusted his expression and just watched the duel unfold. Both sides seemed to be doing well, even if there was a strong sense of competitiveness in the air, as if both parties had a drive in them to beat the other. Needless to say, it was nice to see.
When the time had come, the Defence professor struck up that all-too-familiar shield yet again. This was..... going to be awkward. Yeah. "Well done! Both of you," he said, approaching the two of them and shooting them a smile, "That was an excellent display of spellwork, I have to say." Pause. "You've put up a great fight, Cornelius. Really. But it looks like Miss Moss has taken the title this round. Congratulations, Miss Moss." Stats: Katherine Moss: 76.89% Cornelius Baltazar: 67.78%
