The finest china and silverware is set on the table for this end of term feast. Although there's no food yet, wonderful smells are emanating from the kitchens, enough to make your mouth water in anticipation.
Have a seat as we wait for the Headmaster to give his speech, but make sure you take the time to swap summer plans and say goodbye to the departing seventh years. No tears... that's what the train is for!

Needless to say, Frankie was EXCITED for the last feast of the term. Being seventeen now, that meant that stilly no-magic-outside-of-school rule didn't apply to him. This summer meant he could do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted and he wouldn't get into trouble with the Ministry for it. Plus he was an Animagus now. Double whammy!
Those thoughts were on the prefect's mind as he swaggered into the hall, his red badge shining bright. He was shocked to see that he was the first to arrive at the Gryffindor table, but that was fine with him. It only meant that he would be getting the best seat possible. If only there wasn't a wait for food...
Sitting down, the blond kept his eye on the at . He was hoping to catch sight of Hady and wave her over before she decided to sit at the Slytherin table. And if anyone asked what he was doing, he'd just say he was keeping tabs on his housemates.

He didn't think it'd work. In fact, the boy was sure his parents would check his temperature and order him on bed rest when he made the request he did but...nothing of the sort. If he didn't know any better, he'd think they didn't have a problem with him returning to Hogwarts after being away for months--and to spend the night nonetheless--but he did know better. Right now, his mother was probably worrying herself into a fit and his father was probably waiting by the window in case an owl came begging them to come collect him.
He couldn't say he blamed them, not after everything that'd happened. In truth, he was a little shocked they'd let him come at all now that his Finals were over and he didn't have reason to be here but here he was walking into the Great Hall.
It felt...weird. When was the last time he walked in here? April? Skillfully, the boy kept his eyes locked on the Gryffindor table as he made his way over. He would not look up at the Staff Dais; he would not look up at Professor Primeaux, nor would he look at the Headmaster who never bothered to reply to his parents. Thanks to them, this might very well be his last night here.
Although......that wasn't such a bad thought entirely. Blaise flopped somewhere closer to the end of the table, his quill and notepad floating along next to him. In some ways, he was excited to be back for the night because it meant a train ride with his friends tomorrow, but in other ways...he was wondering why he'd bothered to come.

That time of term again! It was always a bittersweet moment for the ghost as the castle became devoid of life and it was left to the enduring watchful eye of the ghosts, but Sir Nicholas always elected to see these feasts as celebrations. No matter how hard it was at times to bid farewell to the graduating class.
Thus he appeared in his standard ceremonial way up up UP through the center of the Gryffindor house table with a dashing grin about his semi transparent features.
SPOILER!!: Frankie

"Absolutely delightful to see you back here in the castle, Blaise," the ghost grinned as he floated towards the young man. "Gone without so much as a parting wave of the hand!"

After packing up all his gear into the trunks (read: shoving everything in sight and kick-slamming the trunks until they'd close), the Gryffindor Ace cruised his way down to the Great Hall. The summer is upon them and he has plansssssss....
"Heya Prefect Frankeh! Yo Blaisey!" he zoomed around them to plop himself on the other side of the table, just as the Gryffindor House Ghost rose up through the table "Sir Nick! Gonna be rid of us for a coupla months and finally have some peace and quiet eh eh?" he chuckled beaming at the ruffle-collared specter.

Once again, at the end of term feast... with friends to say good bye to and with no idea on how to start saying that illusive good bye and good luck in a way that wouldn't make her cry.
Ha. Let's face it, that hadn't happened yet and probably wouldn't start this year either.
Looking around the table, and then the hall, Marsha sighed and looked around for Vince. She had to say good bye to him for a fortnight too... and she wasn't looking forward to that either.

Bentley grumped his way into the great hall and grumped his way unto a seat at the Gryffindor table. Could they just please go home now? He had done his big brotherly duty of checking in with Heath to ensure that he had all his stuff packed and that he was down here for dinner.
Now the sooner the food came, the sooner he could be away from this place and the crazy girls that inhabited it. Yes..that was a lovely and comforting thought...

Genny walked enthusiastically into the Great Hall, her brown ponytail swinging on the back of her head. "Hello mates, good evening." A greeting for all before she took a seat next to Ace. Sir Nicholas received a big grin from her, she could not think of anything to tell him due to the grumbles coming from her stomach.
Knowing what a big, unmatchable feast Hogwarts had, Genny deprived herself of food all day to consume as much as she could this evening before leaving for home tomorrow morning. She had big nice plans this summer.

The end of term feast. It was always something to look forward to and this one was no different then any other years. A few of her closest friends were once again graduating and moving on but this moment wasn't going to be about saying 'goodbyes'. This year she was reserving that for the train ride home.
With exams, lessons and everything out of the way Hady was in a wonderful mood and the large smile on her face showed it. Her entire summer was this year was dedicated to her family, the band and Frankie. As well as a few friends she'd plan to see as well.
Entering the great hall Hady did something completely different. Rather then head for her own house table she went straight for the red and gold. "Hello Sir Nick," she greeted warmly giving a nod of her head in greeting to everyone else at the table. Walking over towards Frankie she gave the blonde a light nudge. "Hey you." The plan was to stay here a few minutes before making her way to her own table.

So this place had an end of term feast? To be honest, Bec was glad that the year was over and that she could go home again. She had missed her parents and little brother but of course she would not admit that out loud. She was a bit bumped out that her House didn't win the Housecup but she had tried her best even if it wasnt enough.
Dressed in her uniform, the soon to be second year sat down at the Gryffindor table and looked around. Not spotting any of her friends yet, Bec grabbed her bag and opened it up to take out some gummy worms. If this was going to be like the start of term feast she now came prepared. Casually eating the candy , she day dreamed of being back home.
This was probably the moment she had been waiting for since the beginning of term. Yep, she had wanted it to end before it even started. Not surprising, though, right? The term had been utter rubbish from the start.
But that was neither here nor there.
What was important was that she find a seat and wait for the food. Yummy, yummy food! Glancing around the table, the soon to be fourth year took a seat beside Bec. Dora smiled at her before saying, "Are you excited for summer then? " Seemed like a good conversation starter! Besides, the blonde was doing her best to avoid contact with the less savory Gryffindor girls.

Slightly bored and tired of Rooster's company, Hadley made her way over to the most interesting table of the bunch, in her opinion: The Gryffindor Table. She stopped just short of the table, scanning it for her friends. There was Salamander! Hadley's heart fluttered slightly as she spotted him and she took a deep breath to calm herself a little. Where was Mel, though? Probably running late.
Hads started toward Tenacius and paused, again, as she saw an unknown Gryffindor girl (Geneva) sit next to him. Who was this, now? A friend or was she maybe hoping for something more? The thought troubled Hads more than she cared to admit, but she wouldn't let herself act on it just yet. Not until she was sure. A friend Hadley could deal with, but if she had a crush on Ace, or worse, he on her...she knew from experience how well she'd handle that.
Absently rubbing the back of her head at the memory of being knocked out by the loathsome Auror, Hadley made her way over to Salamander and sat down. "Hey, Salamander. Ready for summer?" She turned to the girl sitting next to Ace and sized her up briefly, then held out her hand. "I'm Hadley."

He watched the Headmaster walk in, followed by a few of the professors and some other students. Though his blue eyes remained focused and did not linger from the entrance. Hadleigh Lynch had yet to make an appearance. There was nothing that was going to distract him from watching the brunette gracefully walk in the hall. Food wasn't there to distract him, after all.
But the Gryffindor House ghost managed to snap him out of his intense door-watching task. "Huh?" he asked, eyes blinking for a moment before he caught the tail end of Sir Nick's question. "Oh. Summer. Yeah. Lots of stuff planned. First summer as an of-age wizard." The prefect grinned, leaving it at that.
Now that he was officially distracted, the boy allowed himself to remain so, trusting that Hady would come over to him the moment she saw him. "Hello, Ace," he greeted the boy as he sat down at the table. His gaze then turned toward the other Gryffindors that were now present. Marsha, Bentley, Genny, Bec, and Dora each got a look of acknowledgment. Even the Ravenclaw got a look too.
Frankie couldn't help but do a double-take at the slight of Blaise Bellaire though. How long had it been since his mother plucked him out of school over that detention of his? A couple of months? Gryffindor Tower, needless to say, hadn't been the same without Blaise around. "Welcome back, Blaise."
Hey, you.
The blond grinned the moment her voice was heard. He knew, without even having to turn his head, exactly who had arrived at the lion's table. Her voice and the nudge was all he needed. "Well, well, well. Welcome to the cool table, Hady." He playfully stuck out his tongue at her and gave her hand a squeeze.

Mainly the girls in her year.
"Yeah, I am," Sam cut in with a grin, as she reached her bestie and another Gryffindor she didn't know. She slid onto the bench beside them, and ran her fingers through her short hair to check her fauxhawk was still in place.
"I'm Sam by the way," she introduced herself to the younger Lion. "Usually foun' oveh at the Ravenclaw table, but fought I'd 'ead ovver 'ere tonigh'. Me 'n' Dora go way back." She beamed at her friend, excited for the adventures she was sure her summer would hold.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
The gummy worms were a bit warm from being inside the bag all day long....probably a couple of weeks now... it was a miracle she hadn't eaten them all yet... see! She could control herself! The Gryffindor continued to chew on the candy even when her eyes went over to one of the girls. Dora her name was if she was not mistaken.
Watching her as she sat down on the empty seat next to herself, Bec nodded at the question. "Definitely" she answered as she blushed slightly when their PREFECT acknowledged her presence. She was cool now right?! Focus Bec... "We're going to France for a week which should be cool, right? I've never been there before" Grabbing another gummy worm, the first year held out her hand and offered one to Dora. "are you going somewhere?" she asked curiously at the moment when a stranger appeared at their table.
Her brown eyes looking at the Ravenclaw girl whom seemed to be friends with Dora, Bec grabbed another gummy worm and held it out to Sammy...she was going to call her Sammy cause it sounded cute... but only in her head if she didnt want to...just like how she called Professor Draper "Drapes" like everyone else but just inside her mind. She could be nice.
"I am" Rebecca answered after she realised the question had also been for her. "What year are you in?" out of all thr the questions she could ask...that was the one... sigh.
Melbourne was excited for summer…well, more excited for not having to wear her uniform every day for the foreseeable future. Pasting a happy smile on her face the Gryffindor girl finally made her way over to her table. “Hey Franklin,” she gave him a small nod and turned her attention to Hadleigh “Hey Hadleigh…congratulations you know on becoming seventh years soon!” She beamed at them before looking around the table for the other people she desperately needed to speak with, and well, give hugs goodbye of course. Most of the hugs would come on the train surely.
“Sir Nicholas!” She even so far as went to give the good sir a curtsey well, a failed one but it was still an attempt. “Do please have some adventures while we’re all away” she grinned up at the ghost. “Oh…and have a wonderful summer”. Turning her head she couldn’t help but grin when she saw the slightly-older Blaise Bellaire. “Hey Blaise…I hope you have a nice summer?” She offered with a grin. Sure, she was curious as to why he was back after being away for so long…but really, it was nice to be able to say goodbye to one of the people that had welcomed her into the house just a few disastrous opening feasts before.
“Hey Sha!” She grinned over to her cousin and moved closer to the fourth year before turning her attention to the somewhat surely seeming Moore. “Hey Bentley…I hope you have a nice drama free summer” she paused and gave him a grin…”oh…if you’re up for it we should definitely do something fun this summer!” She grinned and then looked over to her other friends that were there sitting…oh Geneva was there!
“Hi Genny! Do you have any fun plans for the summer?” She asked her housemate with a bright eyed smile plastered on her face…”Hads this is Geneva Tate she’s cool,” she grinned over to her best friends before reaching into the little bad of candy in her pocket and pulling out a sour gummy worm and taking a bite out of it. “Hads…do you have any summer plans?” She asked her friend happily, “…I think we should get a bunch of people together for like a party…or ice cream or anything really” anything would be better than the nothing she had planned…well, nothing but her sister’s wedding. Ace got a little nod himself as the Gryffindor girl took a seat next to Hadley.

SAM! Yay for Sam! Dora had been debating going to find her, so she was glad she made her way over. As her bestie slipped into the bench beside her, she took her hand and laced their fingers together and then turned her attention back to Bec.
... Prefect Paton looked at her? Big whoop. Dora just stared back at him until Bec spoke again. "Me too! About being ready for it anyway. I'm not going to France this year. Only Bali. And Sam here is coming to stay with me for the WHOLE summer! " she said excitedly. That was the best thing about it, tbh!! Getting to hang out with her ALL. THE. TIME.
Oh. A gummy worm. No thanks, dude. She was pretty sure the girl had picked her fingers earlier. Dora didn't want germy worms. No ma'am. Hehe. But she did politely decline the offer with a smIle and the shake of her head.
"Hey, thanks for checking on me when my plant was sick. Lola was victim to some nonsense in the greenhouses. That's why I was crying. "
But that was a long time ago and Lola was fine now!! Oh! "Yep! I am all packed! Soooo ready to go home. And you're coming with me this time and that makes me happier than you could ever know!! " She was going to make sure her best friend was properly taken care now.

He should have owled Bentley to let him know he'd be here for the feast. Maybe then he wouldn't take SO LONG to get to the Great Hall. Right now Blaise was stuck waiting as he watched the rest of his house--the rest of the school really--pack into the Great Hall. The boy's attention was immediately caught by the ghost he hadn't seen in forever. "Good evening Sir Nicholas! I dunno if I'd use the word delightful but I did miss seeing you!" It was true. The boy had no ghosts at home. "Would have said goodbye and everything, but my parents showed up was kinda sudden." And a welcomed surprise that had been. "Have I missed anything interesting?"
Oh and there was Tenacious! He hadn't gotten a glimpse of the boy since he'd left back in April. "Hey mate! You're looking awful chipper this evening." He replied with a dimpled grin of his own plastered across his face. But really...the boy seemed hyped up on SOMETHING. The prospect of summer perhaps? Seemed legit.
Theeeeeeeeere was Bentley! Blaise waved his cousin over to him--because he'd been saving him a seat and all--already noting the grumpy look on his face. If he had to guess, he'd say Chloe. It was always Chloe. Honestly, he didn't know why he bothered and he didn't figure he really wanted to know either. "Come tell the wise and sagely Blaise all about your Ravenclaw troubles." You know, since his cousin was so obviously trying to avoid looking in that direction.
Wasn't too long before someone took the spot next to Tenacious across from him, greeting everyone as she did. "Hey Genny, bet you're really looking forward to summer." Safe bet. Who ever wanted to stay here anyway? It was horrid. The boy was glad he'd been gone for months. Oh and another one, Merlin that Second Year must have been popular. "We're still on for Ollivander's, yeah?" He asked, as Hadley took the spot on the other side of the Gryffindor.
Also, was that Dora sitting all the way over there? Blaise thought it a little curious, since most of the people he knew and figured she knew, where sitting over here. Still, maybe she didn't like the idea of having to squeeze in and force people to scoot. "Hi Dora!" And a waaave for her. Hello.
The voice of his Prefect drew his attention from his Year mate and had him twisting in his seat. "Thanks! It's only for the night but it'll be nice sleeping in the Gryffindor Common Room again." Just in case it would be his last time period. Kid had memories to make and so far his quill was doing a brilliant job of taking them down.
Ah and Melbourne, he hadn't really known much about her til he'd come for his History of Magic Final and had Bentley point her out to him. Sure they'd been housemates for a bit but that didn't mean he'd taken the time to learn ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE personally. "Planning on having a brilliant summer actually!" He said with a grin. "Gonna go on vacation with Katherine and her family for a week then it's the Caribbean with my cousin and Phillip. It'll be epic. Any great plans for you?"

"Oh," Hadley said, when Melon sat down and introduced Genny to her. "Nice to meet you, Genny."
She turned her attention to Melbourne and shook her head. "Not really. I mean, I have summer ideas, but they aren't definite plans yet." Hadley held her hand out for a sour gummy worm. "I want to get on a summer quidditch team though. That'll be a blast. Probably gonna continue to work on potions work via cooking lessons with my Mom." Hadley half-heartedly rolled her eyes at that, not really selling it as an annoyance. "Other than that, nothing really."
Well that wasn't true. "Except, I am helping Blaise get a new, proper wand." She turned to Blaise then and nodded enthusiastically. "Absolutely. Just remember to leave your wand at home that day." Not that she honestly thought that would be an issue. Blaise wouldn't go anywhere with his wand if he wasn't forced to. "We'll get you a new wand that responds to you."
She turned back to Mel. "A party sounds great! I'm in." Hadley gave Mel a look, trying to say Invite Salamander with her eyes and failing miserably. "So, what about you? What are your plans?"
Colt thought while waiting for food, he might as well go see his friends. He knew he had Mel and Tenacius here. He scanned the crowds and spotted Mel instantly. He grinned and thought he might as well scare her. He tiptoed well he didn't need to really since this great hall was noisy. He went, "BAH!" and tapped her kind of harshly. He waited yet to see her reaction. He looked around and nodded to Tenacius. He hoped he saw the evidence that he scared her. He commented on his hair though. "Nice hairstyle dude."
Melbourne grinned over to Blaise as he talked about how his summer was going to be. “Oh that sounds brilliant!” She smiled over to him, “If my summer weren’t so jam-packed with things I’d be kind of jealous of the whole trip to the Caribbean thing” she smiled over to him while mentally painting the picture of swimming in the warm crystalline clear waters of the Caribbean. “Oh…I’m always coming up with plans” she told him and grinned as she reached into her robes and pulled out the bag of candies and offered them to the table. “Biggest thing…I guess is that my sister is getting married?...oh and my grandmother already told me that when I’m staying with her I can have as many friends over as I want” she liked that idea.
“I do hope that you and well…your cousin and friends have the best time ever,” she grinned over to the third year boy. It was then that she heard Blaise and Hads talking about getting a proper wand, “Oh…I’d be happy to help with that if you want?” She offered with a grin. Really, if Hads got on with Blaise he had to be a good person right?
“Awesome! It wouldn’t be much fun without you” Mel grinned over to her and raised her eyebrow at her friend as she gave her that face. It almost looked like she was forgetting something or had suffered a stroke. What was she doing? Why was her nose flaring like that? “Um…my sister’s wedding? Spending time with friends…and maybe um…” she paused for a moment before grinning “Well…I don’t really know everything just yet? I really want to go on an adventure…we should plan something together while we’re on the train!” She grinned over at her friend and was about to say something else when she felt it. Tapping.
SPIDERS! It had to be a giant spider! The second year jumped momentarily and then she heard it…his voice complimenting Ace’s stupid curly hair…”Colt.” She sighed at the slytherin boy, “c’mon...” she grinned over to him. “How are you doing Winchester?” She asked and grinned at him. “You know…you’re lucky you didn’t try tickling me…I’d probably have accidentally punched you.”

But perhaps now would be futile in reminding the Slytherin of his preference in his full name as the tunnel vision of young love had been established between her and the Gryffindor prefect. Which caused Sir Nicholas to take a longing look towards the Ravenclaw house table. Still had not recited that sonnet he had written.

"Oooooooh, what delectable sweets have you brought with you this evening?" he inquired.

Speaking of young love - which he prided himself on being able to sense - the ghost grinned at the Ravenclaw.

"Nothing too reckless with your new magical freedom," Sir Nicholas teased. "Would hate for one of our house prefects to be returned to us in a matchbox."
SPOILER!!: Blaise

"Well, it is delightful for this specter," he assured. "Yes, well, I did hear about that." Mostly the roaring from the Gryffindor Head of House's office on matter. "Not too terribly much. Although there was an incident with a hag on the grounds nearly eating a student or two," he added casually.
She's not sad. Nope. Candice Messer has been looking forward to graduate since last year. She couldn't wait to get out of Hogwarts and be a WU student. With that thought, the blonde made her way towards the Gryffindor table. As soon as she sat down, she's a bit surprise to see Colt there. And look he made some Gryffindor friends. "Winchester, come to say good bye?" She will missed Colt. That for sure. Oh and Sir Nicholas too. Speaking of Sir Nick. "Hello, Sir Nick." She gave the ghost a curt nod.

Bentley had been so focused with not looking anywhere but at the spot he was going to plant his bottom, that he didn't even notice that Blaise was already at the table. He was having quite the dilemma at the moment....
Sighing heavily, the green eyed lion got up from his spot and went to sit next to his cousin.
"I don't want to talk about it...not now anyways." Nope. Psssh, what's a Chloe anyways? Psssh. Didn't care!
"Also, I thought I held the title of wise and sagely...when did we switch? I think reckless and dangerous suits you best cousin."

Bentley's attention was drawn from his cousin when Mel's voice greeted him. He flashed her a dimpled smile. A drama free summer? Well his summers were always drama free. It was the months at Hogwarts that he was most worried about. "Thanks, I hope you do too." He nodded enthusisastically at her suggestion.
"That doesn't sound like a bad idea."

He let out a raucous laugh for good measure and even hit the table...added effect and all that. "Who needs to be friends with RavenClaw girls anyways? Right Sir Nick?"
They were nothing but trouble.

The cheesy grin melted away a bit on the leonine lad upon hearing the House ghost's words, to be replaced by a look of genuine astonishment "Really Sir Nick? You'd miss all the chaos and the messes and the intruding and all that?" and suddenly he yelled out to everyone and no one in particular down the mess hall "EY GUYS! SIR NICK SEZ WE CAN PARTY THE SUMMER AWAY RIGHT HERE AT HOGWARTS!" he turned back to the ghost, cheesy grin back in place and brighter than ever "Juuuuust kidding Sir Nick. But hey I'll remember dat." he chuckles with a finger gunning clicky wink.
Oh and here comes his frenz! "Ey Gen! You had a good night's shleep?" har har he made a punny. He broadened his grin when his Ravenclaw best bud decided to join them "Hey Hadsters! Yeah yeah Gen, Hadz, Hadz, Gen." pretty much backin up what Mel was saying, who had also popped up.
"Chipper pipper daz me." he grinned that knowing grin at Blaisey boy. Yes he is hyped about something. But as he listened to the boy talk about his summer plans, he tapped the table as a signal that he is convo-barging "Well hope you could spare a day outta your summer. Watch out for an owl from me." because then he'd have more info to tell his fellow Lion. Oh hey theres Bentley too "You too Ben."
Oh speaking of plans for the summer, he turned his attention back to the Ravenclaw redhead "Hey Hadz so about those Abraxans, we could probably get you an afternoon pass when the tour closes early." so if she still wants to see them, theres her chance.
And then theres Colt. Ace was actually watching the whole lets-scare-Mel-outta-her-shirt maneuver. Cackle cackle not to loud! Oh his hair? "Thanks man. It’s the four-poster trend." as in the bed. "Always a classic." he added grinning. "How's your summer lookin like?" Older boys always seem to have a more enjoyable time than runts like him, and the Gryffindor Ace was curious what the Slytherin was gonna be up to.
