| | |  Gobstones Consolation Match: Hufflepuff vs. Slytherin
 The building used for the Gobstones matches had had its doors firmly closed against the early December winter chill. Its surfaces magically dusted by Mr McLeod and Mr. Kitridge, the school's Gobstones sponsors and made ready for the term's consolation match.
The yellow and green marbles were set out and the playing 'field' had been marked. Chairs were set out on each side of the arena creating a Viewing Area for those not playing to watch.
OOC: Remember only members sorted into Hufflepuff and Slytherin Houses can post in this thread, it is not a chat thread and there is no rping.
Read the Gobstones Rule book before playing and if you did last term, please check again for potential updates and changes.

After a short break the snakes Mason and Hadleigh had a long discussion of who should go out with the green shooter but in the end Hady went out together with an unnamed badger boy. The duo swung their shooters and released their stones simultaneously. The stones took off neck and neck as they rolled around the first series of 3 obstacles. The yellow stone suddenly stopped however and oozed out a gigantic cloud of smelly gob that filled the building with its foul stench. The green stone surpassed its opponent and two more obstacles to claim the point.
"First point of the fourth round goes to Slytherin! Come on badgers!" Leo cheered on from the sideline, wrinkling his nose against the bd smell.

Skylar and Katerina headed out with their house shooters for Slytherin and Hufflepuff respectively. The two girl's swung their shooters, released their stones and lastly gave their stones a good kick forward in the court. The yellow stone picked up speed as it rounded the first 8 obstacles but then it swerved heavily to the left and out off play. The green stone surpassed its opponent and 3 more obstacles to claim the points.
"2 points to Slytherin!" Leo announced from the sideline, as his nose stil itched from the lingering foul smell.

The snakes sent out Skylar Diggory while the badgers sent out yet another unnamed student. Skylar seemed to have picked up some sort of luck with her next try with the shooter. She was getting her house's stone closer and closer to the Hufflepuff's stone, and the goal in extension. "3 points to Slytherin at the end of the fourth round. Slytherin leads 18-3 as we head into the fifth and final round! Come on both teams!" Leo cheered on.

The last encounter between Hufflepuff and Slytherin was concluded by the facing off between Lynch and an unknown student. Both players did their best in this last turn with their shooting. The green marble raced towards the goal and was the first to touch the Jack Stone, causing Mr Kitridge to start applauding a little too enthusiastically-- not because Slytherin had gotten the last points of the match, but because it was finally over and they would all go back to their headquarters to eat some well deserved food.
"Slytherin wins the consolation match of this years Gobstones chamionship!" He announced, clapping lightly, "Great game Hufflepuff, you were fantastic as well. Thank you everyone for watching and taking time out of your leisure time to enjoy this championship match today. Today's player of the match is Hadleigh Lynch, thank you for your dedication to the game." He flashed Hadleigh a big smile. "Off you go to your common rooms for celebrating with your housemates or even studying for your impending exams." Leo ushered everyone out, out, out.
