| | Front Cars The front of the train is the perfect seat for those eager to see, be seen, and get to school FIRST. Avoid the Prefects' Compartment, unless you're looking for trouble, but there is plenty of seating available in these compartments. |

So this is the Hogwarts Express, Fiyero thought, gazing up at the train in front of him. He vaguely heard Stefan and Killian, two of his older cousins, arguing whether he'd be sorted into Gryffindor or Ravenclaw, but he wasn't paying much attention. He was too busy rummaging through his school bag for his new camera to snap a few shots of the train.
His cousins were still arguing as the train whistle sounded, and a horrible thought occured to Fiyero. "What if I'm not in Gryffindor?" he asked as he hugged his mother goodbye. Almost everybody in his mother's family went to Gryffindor; they'd probably be disappointed if he didn't.
To his relief, his mother smiled. "Don't worry about that, Fiy," she assured him. "We'll be proud of you, no matter which house you get." She ruffled his blond hair, giving him one last hug, and Fiyero waved back at her as he boarded the train.
After changing into his Hogwarts uniform (well, half of it anyway. He hadn't put on the black robe, and he wasn't going to button up his cardigan or tie his tie until he absolutely had to!) and a quick stop at the food trolley - because he could never have enough candy - Fiyero decided it was time to find a seat. His other cousins, Zira and Zarina, had offered to let him sit with them, but listening to them talk about girly stuff wasn't the way he wanted to spend the train ride.
He soon happened upon a compartment where four people who looked about his age were sitting. They seemed friendly - and they had candy, that was always nice. Maybe they'd let him sit with them... or maybe not. It looked kind of full. He slid the door open, and poked his head inside.... just in time to hear one of the girls (Evie) ask a question about the houses. "Hi, everybody! Room for one more?" he said. He turned to the girl who had just spoken. "I couldn't help overhearing... The houses are like dormitories. They're assigned based on personality. The brave kids go to Gryffindor, and the ambitious ones are Slytherins. The Ravenclaws are all super-smart, and the Hufflepuffs are honest and loyal."
He suddenly remembered he hadn't introduced himself yet!"I'm Fiyero Jones, by the way," he added quickly, "but everybody calls me Fiy." Selina feeling quite out of place in this now crowded compartment had retreated as far into her corner as she could, her silver hair falling around her face, obscuring her pearly pink eyes. The three others were sharing candy and talking about the school houses, (she had high hopes of being in Slytherin, or maybe even at a push Ravenclaw) yet had still completely failed to actually talk directly to her. She was bored irritated and not really enjoying being practically ignored. It had crossed her mind several time now to just leave and find another compartment to join.
She was just about to get out of her seat, when the compartment door opened yet again, and another over excitable new student appeared. Judging by the other companions in the compartment she assumed that they'd let this new boy join the already crowded compartment. So as in hopes of deterring him slightly, she flicked her hair away from her face and glared at him, with such irritation that it looked like her pink eyes might burn a hole through the boy's skull.
This glaring however did not last long a she decided the boy just wasn't worth her time, and he was probably not going to leave anyway. Instead she decided it would be much preferable to just glare at her feet. |

To him, you could just tell when people were, in her words, 'dolts'. But he probably thought that about most people. He definitely thought that about most people. Not her, though, Dalton couldn't help but realise as he watched the quill wave in her hand and her hair bounce slightly. Her confidence made him chuckle drily again, as did the other realisation he had: he didn't actually mind her company, enthusiastic as she was.
And he minded most peoples company.
"He's moved to Durmstrang?" His eyebrow raised slightly at the notion, thoughts wandering back to Sharky's cousin's girlfriend. How did she feel about him moving? Dalton made a mental note to ask her about it when he next saw her, and lost in thought slightly, nearly missed Char's next comment. "Huh -? Oh, yeah, sure I can introduce you." How odd that her cousin hadn't himself. But then, maybe they hadn't been together for long. He wasn't sure.
Shaking his head slightly at her next comment, Dalton responded, "Tim? Nah, she's seeing someone called... Erm. Well, someone who's not me. Besides, I don't see her like that. She's a friend." Even if Aled insisted she was the prettiest girl to ever exist, and if she had been his own first kiss. Which he'd never actually told anyone, and didn't plan on doing so: it was no one else's business.
He offered a nod to the younger girl as Char introduced her. Friends? Was she even sure she wanted to be friends with him? "Oh, I suppose so, but people can always learn more and be less dumb as time goes on!" So there was hope even for the hopeless in a way! But he sounded smart so far. Charlotte marked him on that, angling the notebook so that nobody could see it. He was smiling now and that was nice. A really GOOD smile actually, even if it wasn't a whole one. She liked it better when people smiled in that face hurty way. She would make his face hurt some time though.
#Goals.
She beamed at Genny again and then tilted her head at Dalton when he asked about Bastien. "Back to Durmstrang." She corrected cheerfully. "He was only at Hogwarts for last term, Durmstrang is where he goes normally." Her family was sort of divided down the middle in terms of who went to Hogwarts and who went to Durmstrang. Char was pretty sure that Hogwarts was the better choice, but then so were her parents so it wasn't like she would ever need to choose.
Tim DID look like that kind of girl who had boyfriends, so Char just nodded. "You don't have one then? A girlfriend?"

Nat and Roman were going up as hottest couple. This had to happen. How cool would it be if two of her band members won? Like...obviously they would win. "I sing under she shower", the blonde giggled and shrugged," the shower can't escape. but i don't believe that you can't sing. I've heard you hum." Humming was almost singing wasn't it?!
Even though the slytherin was in kind of a bad mood because she already missed Bastien, Hady's mood was uplifting. There was something so positive about her right now and maybe that was just what Kelly needed. " That's true. Next term is gonna be eventful i can totally feel it." Well hopefully it would be so she would be distracted from her boyfriend being away and being busy with combat stuff. Man was Kelly proud of him to make deputy captain.
A soft laugh escaped her lips as the sweets landed in front of her feet. Adorable. " Don't worry about it Frankie. I'll take them and keep them as reward for picking them up." Sweets were always welcome. After all the fifth year had a sweets pyramid in her dorm....unless the houseelves had eaten it all over summer.....but houseelves weren't mean like that. " I can never say no to candy. No better way to start Hogwarts than with a belly ache cause too many sweets." There were definitely worse ways. A sweets binge was very welcome.
"Of course i remember Frankie", Kelly winked, " soo good to see you again Frankie. I am sure this ride is gonna be fun. Just tell me if you...want some privacy." She would understand that since she had wanted privacy too when she was on this train last...now wasn't the right time to think about it. "I see you have a thing for sweets too Frankie?" Opening one of the chocolate frogs she had picked up the girl gave him a wink. Captain obvious was here. Hady pulled one of her legs up underneath herself getting more comfortable. Might as well relax, they were going to be here awhile. "The shower is completely different. As is humming, that's just holding a tune." Holding a tune was simple. It was when you put words to the tune and attempted it out loud that became the problem. So singing wasn't about to be happening, at least not in the company of anyone that could say anything about it. "Eventful? I really hope not. Last term was enough," the sixteen year old replied. What she needed now was a calm year. Taking her classes, practicing with the band, all her training and just relaxing. She didn't need anything else being tossed her way.
Hady was quiet for a moment opening the box to her chocolate frog right away grabbing it by one of it's back legs. Yes she still held the sweet that way and each and every time she did it made her think of Adi knowing he now did the same. A light smile played across her lips as she leaned against Frankie glancing upwards at him. He appeared comfortable around her friends which was always a good thing.

| Because we /had to/ post ¼ of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pls Katherine was one of the last people to board the train, because his father had forgotten to take something... which wasn't surprising at all. And then, a fight erupted between her mother and father, so his father had been too shaky to drive for a while, which made her mother even angrier...
None of this mattered though, because she was on the train and was prepared to truly interact with NO ONE this time. Getting on the train late was useful: everyone had picked where they wanted to sit, so she could find an empty compartment without fearing that someone would barge in. And so it happened: she quickly snuck in the first empty one she found, and locked the door both magically, and with the lock she had brought with her.
When she said she wanted to be alone, she meant it, and had taken the matters in her hands now.
Ahhhhhhhhh, being aloooooone! She allowed herself a small smile of victory and lay down on one of the seats.
This was great! |

The Third Year fixed him with a look, one that said he wasn't buying what he said for even a minute. "Exams aren't the only things that can make school horrible. Hogwarts has a whole bunch of other things that make me rather stay home." Okay maybe just a few. The boy wouldn't have to worry about major exams for another two years but now....he actually considered them. What WOULD he do when OWLs came around and he was forced to sit the Charms and Transfiguration ones?
Much like the Prefect, the younger boy also shrugged at the mention of his friends. He did miss them, but he hadn't thought to go looking for them when he'd boarded, far too busy sulking. "Reckon they must be somewhere on the train, excited about going back to school and stuff. I might find them later or I might wait til the feast." Another shrug was offered. No concrete plans outside of slowly expiring til June. "What'd you like so much about Hogwarts?" Hugo nodded at Blaise's response. That was sort of unexpected, to be honest. Maybe because younger students always seemed to show excitement when coming to Hogwarts, though he remembered his first time here and how much he wanted to be at Durmstrang instead. Should this be the same? " Or maybe at other school?" asked curiously " Which things? The professors?" because he knew that the food and the dorms weren't going on that list of horrible things.
" And why aren't you excited?" so many questions but this one was important. But Blaise asked a good one. " I wanted to go to Durmstrang at first but my parents convinced me to come here and give it a chance and after the first year I started to like it. I wouldn't have stayed if I hadn't made good friends or if the food was awful" yeah because how was he going to survive all the year without proper, delicious food. " I like some of the classes and especially the dueling club"

"I like some of the classes and especially the dueling club" There is was, the suggestion of another school. His parents had sat him down and had this conversation with him just the night before and it was something he'd given serious thought. Another school might not have been a so bad, a fresh start where no one knew how awful he was at magic. There, he could fake it til he made it and no one would be the wiser. The only problem was...he liked his friends here and a few of them had been upset when he'd mentioned considering such a change so the boy simply shook his head. No. Not another school. "It's the magic. It sucks. I hate it. I hate that even in classes that aren't magic based we still need magic. I just hate it all." It was something he said so often that it no longer bothered him to say it. No doubt, it was also something his quill had heard a lot and yet there it floated, dutifully taking down this conversation as if it was the first time.
Having fully gone into the issue at hand, Blaise didn't think it necessary to answer the question on why he wasn't excited. It was obvious. So long as Hogwarts required him to learn and cast magic, he would never be excited to come back. He'd never be excited to go anywhere really. The boy perked up some at the mention of Durmstrang. "One of my cousins used to go there! He liked it a lot and they have combat teams and they still play Quidditch and he says it's much nicer than Hogwarts!" Nodnod. True story. "Dad wanted me going there but mum still isn't convinced." Shame but there was nothing he could do about that.
And then it happened....
The prefect went and mentioned the BANE of his Hogwarts existence and suddenly Blaise was finding it difficult to keep his composure. The quill suddenly scribbling at an accelerated pace should have been enough of a giveaway that an explosion was coming and it was hurrying to make sure it missed nothing. "That sodding club is the absolute worst thing that could have happened to Hogwarts! Even worse is mum thinks it'll help me and won't let me freakin' quit! Always the same thing, Merlin's beard! Go into the arena, have none of my spells work, nearly DIE and run and dodge and belly flop because forget shielding." Dumb club, very dumb and stupid and awful and he was going to have WORDS with Professor Hirsch.

Dumb club, very dumb and stupid and awful and he was going to have WORDS with Professor Hirsch. Hugo listened to the Gryffindor and nodded occasionally at his comments. Well, sure he couldn't blame him to hate Hogwarts if he was having trouble with magic, everything was related to magic here. But so, it was in other schools, at least wizarding schools, yeah.
There were a few things Hugo could have said to Blaise but, the thing was, that maybe he shouldn't say them. Like, have you tried to ask for help to the professors? Probably he had. Or even offer him some help and Hugo knew that chances of him accepting his offer were zero. The conversation changed subject briefly. " They do? That's cool. I should have left Hogwarts for a year just to see what it was like in there" but now, it was just a thought and not a priority for him.
Everything was going well until the mention of the dueling club. It was like the worst thing he could have ever said. Even Blaise's quill knew that. And yeah, he exploded. Hugo had no more doubt of the Gryffindor hate for magic. " And what if I help you?" even if at first he thought it was not a good idea to suggest it he also thought there could be a chance Blaise would accept it.
