On a grey mid-November afternoon, you make your way towards the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom, ready to learn about all kinds of weird and definitely not wonderful forms of the dark arts. Everything looks normal from the outside, your usual windows, your normal dull corridor that you've probably walked past too many times. That is, until you walk into the classroom itself.
Maybe 'classroom' wasn't the right term for it because this room lacked anything a normal classroom would have. There were no chairs, no desks, nothing really, apart from a few mats and cushions here and there. But that's not the weirdest part of this set up, oh no! The complete lack of light in the room could throw you off, even if the weather outside is anything but sunny right now.
Confused? You might be.
But don't fret! Bluebell flames are hovering around the 'classroom' in small jars, illuminating enough of the surrounding space for you to see your way around. It also illuminates Professor Hirsch, who can be seen leaning against some kind of black wall. As always, the man was displaying an aura of cool and casual with the way his legs were crossed at the ankles and his arms were crossed across his chest.
So come in, grab a mat or cushion and wait for the class to begin!
OOC: Please make sure you're familiar with Hirsch's rules as well as the SS site rules before posting. Class will continue in about 24 hours time (Friday 27th at roughly 8pm GMT+1/BST). Hope you have fun! ^^ Class has already started! Please feel free to jump in whenever but please don't post your charries coming in late.
Oh! And please note that this is NOT your first DADA lesson of term, even if it's the first one being held by me this term.

Olly glanced around warily as he slowly walked through the maze. Hirsch had said that the threats would be greater toward the middle, right? So he might be fine for a bit. He had wanted to stick close to someone more experienced but it was dark and he had not stuck close enough and he was all alone. So if something jumped out he would have to deal with it on his own, which was just a little bit of a problem because he still had not managed the spell.
Just as he was thinking it, something jumped out on the path in front of him. His first instinct was to take a few rapid steps backward and thrust his wand out in front of him as he quickly assessed the threat. It was a dummy, not one of the stuffed ones, so it was safe to attack. And it started barking. Really loudly. It was so annoying he was eager to get it out of the way.
"Lumos Livens!" He made a circle and a flick of his wand, but nothing happened. Great. He should have practiced more before entering the maze. Olly glared at the annoying barking dummy and tried again. He really wanted to get rid of this thing. "Lumos Livens!" He did the wand movement again, and this time it worked. There was a flash of blue light, and the dummy was gone. Olly let out a relieved breath and continued down his path.

In some ways, Brooklyn agreed entirely to the fact that they needed practical application s to the spells they learned. Even though she’d managed the new light spell on the first try, she hadn’t been under pressure. Not to mention there was still things on her mind, people she really would rather not catch the attention of. She didn’t do setups or awkward situations very well. Honestly, she didn’t do anything she didn’t choose herself very well. Lessons didn’t count, especially not in the subjects she actually somewhat liked. DADA had been one for a while now, no matter the professor, yet at least Professor Hirsch kept them guessing.
She hadn’t been particularly close to the wall in question, either, so she stayed where she was as they’d been instructed to keep clear. A part of her wished she’d bothered to cast an Impervius charm on herself before she’d come into the classroom, as dust billowed out from the vanishing wall and rolled past her feet. She got over it relatively quickly as the maze appeared. That in itself reminded her of the Patronus charm, which by now she’d gotten better at. They just weren’t using it this time, or she knew she’d have been fine. Especially since she still wasn’t particularly inclined to work with anyone aside from the two people she’d already mentally mentioned.
No attacking the stuffed dogs. She noted that instruction, even as she’d made her way toward the nearest entrance to the maze. Rather intentionally making sure people knew her intentions. She wasn’t planning on getting lost, but if she did she was going to say she’d meant to do so. Mazes weren’t too difficult normally. Just remember which way she had turned, especially if they were supposed to find their way out again. The important part was not accidentally leaving the maze again, which meant she had to make sure she was always heading toward the center, for now.
Stepping inside the hedges, she immediately turned left and followed the pathway until it branched off again. At that point, she turned left again, since she figured the path heading straight would just lead her around the perimeter. She wasn’t going to walk in circles, nor was she about to be caught off guard. Her wand stayed at the ready, even given the announcement that the faux-gytrashes were more concentrated near the center. Determination and focus were going to get her through this. That and basically ignoring the stuffed dogs who crossed her path, continuing to turn left and heading deeper inside.

Hadleigh continued forward through the small pathway between the large hedges surrounding her on either side. Finally coming to the end of it she immediately turned left being as that was the only way she was able to go. Continuing to walk without much trouble and making sure to watch her step more carefully then earlier she took a right at the next fork in the path and then another right before being hit with a dead end.
Sighing the female snake turned around on her heel to go back the way she'd come. A rustling coming from up ahead around the bend. Creeping slowly forward Hady raised her wand the incantation for the blue light on her lips as something rounded the bend and came straight at her. It only took the girl a moment to process that it wasn't a ghost dog at all. This was much smaller and not as evil looking at all. Hady laughed quietly at herself lowering her wand to her side as the ball of fur bounded it's way towards her. "Well hello there...your not so scary, are ya?" As if in response the toy dog sniffed her shoe before promptly running in a circle around her legs and then taking back off down the pathway!
"Hey! Come back!," she called after it quickly following the way it had went. Maybe it would take her to the flag?
The white dog took a left, another left and then a very sharp right causing Hady to nearly fall twice in her haste to keep up with it. "Will you slow down you silly little fluff ball!," she called again as she actually did fall flat down onto her stomach her wand falling from her hand just inches away. A small groan left her lips as she reached out for her wand, head lifting up to see where the dog and gone only to see it had come to a stop several feet ahead of her. That's when the barking filled her ears. The sound came before she even registered what she was seeing. Teeth. Shining teeth and glowing eyes.
It looked much more real out here in the darkness when she was alone. Slowly getting to her feet she ignored the dull ache from having hit the floor her eyes fixed on the Gytrash in front of her, the small white dog all but forgotten for a moment. Do something Hadleigh, don't just stand there!
Raising her wand which she had grabbed as she got to her feet she aimed it at the ghost dog who just wouldn't shut up! "Lumos Livens!," she cast firmly while making the clockwise circle with a flick of her wand at the end. The bright blue stream of light shot from her wand directly at the Gytrash.

After contemplating her options, Janelle decided to go it alone, at least for now anyway. She was not opposed to joining up with others, if the situation warranted it. Somewhat reluctantly, she made her way toward the entrance of the maze. Janelle was going to have to pay close attention and think quickly. Get the Gytrashes, don't hurt the stuffed dogs.......right.
Taking a deep breath, Janelle entered the maze. She had her eyes open, ears alert and her head on a swivel. Nothing was going to get past her, hopefully. So on she went, following the maze and hoping her path led toward the center. Then, Janelle heard a sound. Was it a classmate or something else? Slowing her pace, Janelle had her wand ready. The incantation was on her lips, ready to be spoken. Fortunately, she didn't need it because it was one of the little stuffed puppies. Awwwww. Janelle was momentarily distracted by the cute little animated dog. She had the sudden urge to reach down and give the pooch a pat, but thought the better of it. Well if the professor had intended for the dogs to be a distraction, he had succeeded. Remembering the task at hand, Janelle regained her focus and continued along the path.

Hadley and her plush canine companion, Winter, were sufficiently lost. This was perfect. Lost meant she was exactly where she wanted to be and would stumble upon the middle anytime now.
As if on cue, Hadley spotted an opening right in front of her, maybe 30 feet away. Excitedly Hadley looked down at Winter, who was wagging her tail with equal excitement. They both took off, sprinting to the clearing and...

Came out in the classroom? Hadley gave Sir Knight a sheepish wave. "Come on, Winter." Together they bounced back into the maze again, no longer properly lost. She had to get lost again or she'd never reach the center in time! So this time Hadley made her path as random as she could, forgetting her turns the moment she made them.
It was then, the moment she felt truly lost again, they heard the growl. Hadley gave Winter a Don't worry, I got this look and raised her wand. "Expecto Patronum!"

Azura nodded. "Mmm, right for the middle. " Her hand was still in Echo's as they entered the maze. Azura felt like the air instantly got stuffy, and already a light sweat was breaking out on her forehead, she wiped the palms of her hands on her robes as she attempted to keep breathing!
They rounded the first corner and Azura looked back to see the classroom was out of sight now! She bit her lip and tried to hold back a whimper as she faced straight ahead only to nearly shriek as a doggie like thing raced in front of them!
Her wand was up! But thankfully it didn't seem to notice them and she nodded! "Yeah, let's keep going! "
Calming her own heart beat down Echo looked back at Azura, she was glad that she didnt want to turn back but keep going. "alright! we can keep going" Sticking her hand back out for the younger girl to take, it was kind of a safety blanket for the young girl but Echo would never admit that it made her feel better as well.
"shhhhhhhh, i hear either other students or some----------" she stopped in her tracks hoping the girl did too, she took her free hand with her wand "LUMOS LIVENS" she didnt mean to shout but the creature had scared her, it had popped up before their next turn in the maze.
"Merlins beard!!! sorry Azura!!! scared myself more than it scared me" she could deal with these creatures any time but it was the surprise that got her.
"were safe!!! its okay" she had hoped that the girl didnt want to turn tail and run.

Well, this looked like the end for her. The gytrash dummy was inching towards her slowly, like it was being dramatic in devouring an innocent eleven year old. Please. If it was going to eat her alive any moment, could that thing just do it faster? But then again, that ugly creature was just a dummy. Still, Vivian was preparing for her end. Could someone just bid her farewell and love to her mum, dad, Aunt, Uncle, sister, and cousins, please? Dramatic Vivian was dramatic.
"What? Get down?" For a moment, Vivian managed to blink her eyes and then look behind her. Finally, someone to save her from her doom! The Slytherin did as instructed and stayed close to the hedge behind her, the bright blue light missing her for a couple of centimeters. PHEW! At least she didn't get gytrash-ed in class! Such a relief, to not have died in a Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson. Definitely one for the books!
Now, she was supposed to thank her saviour. Well, she wasn't one who let a kind act go unacknowledged. "Thanks so much! That dummy was about to devour me and..." Hooooold it. Vivi squinted at the boy. "Oh! You're the guy from Flourish and Blotts! Foro... Zorro... Ferrero... oh, Fiyero! I can recall!" She remembered him. He was with his cousin too, but the name she forgot. Heh.
She looked back at the path to double check if the gytrash dummy was gone. Scene is safe! Coast is clear! "Yeah, it's gone. Thank you a bajillion times!" Vanya Fairfield would barge in at Hogwarts if she found out her daughter was somehow eaten by a creature dummy... or maybe just shake her head at her daughter for getting all scared.
"May I stick close to you for a bit until I can get the hang of casting the spell?" She was no Ravenclaw, sorry mum. "I'll try to do it the next time we encounter a dummy." And that was the best she can promise: to try. Did not include panicking and freezing in place and ultimately failing.
With the "gytrash" vanquished, Fiyero glanced around him just io make sure it really was gone and more importantly, that there weren't any others coming. Yep, it looked safe. Well, this was something to write home about! He could only imagine what his mother's reaction would be when she found out he'd saved a classmate. He could hear her now, bragging about it to all the employees (and patients) at St. Mungo's. Maybe she'd be so proud, she'd send him a reward... perferably one with lots and lots of candy!
For one wild moment, he worried that interfering might not have been the best idea. What if this girl thought his help was showing her up and got angry like those older students in Astronomy class? His doubts didn't last long, as she was already thanking him profusely. That was always a good sign...
"It was no big deal,"Fiyero replied. Well, maybe that wasn't technically true. That was the first time he got that spell right, so things could've been a lot worse, especially if the spell was too strong and rebounded like it had in the classroom. Now he was glad Hirsch hadn't put any actual gytrashes in here. Both he and Vivian would probably be dead by now if he had. "I'm sure you would've done the same for me..."
He chuckled slightly as Vivian tried to remember his name. After spending so many years in muggle school, he was used to hearing some very strange pronunciations of his name, but he didn't remember anybody ever calling him Zorro before! He blushed slightly, staring at his feet as she mentioned Flourish and Blotts. That hadn't exactly been one of his finer moments... Still, it was nice to get to talk to her without his cousin Killian around to embarrass him.
Fiyero smiled when Vivian mentioned teaming up. Everything was more fun with a buddy! Well, maybe with one or two exceptions... "Sure, good idea!" he said. "I can go first if you like, just in case...""And don't worry about the spell." he added quickly as she mentioned something about not getting the hang of it. "Honestly, I think I just got lucky that time."
He drew his wand, starting down the path in front of him. "Gytrashes" meant they were getting close to the middle, right? He seemed to remember Professor Hirsch saying something about that. He thought going straight was probably the best way to go, but he'd ask Vivian just in case. "Which way do you think we should go?"

While a lot of planning and heaps of magic had gone into executing this lesson, what the man had forgotten to think about was how boring it was to be standing out here, just looking at the bushes and the people occasionally running in and out. He should've brought something along: some marking, a cup of coffee..... something to keep him occupied, at least. Or maybe company. Company would've been ni-
Haddie Denaker was back outside. The man shot her a highly confused look right before she went back inside. Amused, he shook his head and instead, waited it out. Someone was bound to get a golden flag, right?
A quick check of his watch told him that he had a bit of a warning to give to the others. Clearing his throat and casting a quick Sonorus charm in that direction, he then called out, "You have twenty minutes left! Use this time wisely!" Or not. The practice said to be able to use the charm, after all.

Azura put her hand back into Echo's and bit her lip a bit as they started to walk forward again! Still a bit hesitant and slow, but that was totally okay with Azura! She wasn't worried about getting the golden flag! Really all she wanted was to make it out alive and without having a panic attack.
Suddenly though the older girl stopped in her tracks and as Echo shouted out the spell, so did Azura! "Lumon Livens!" Thr bright blue light flooded the part of the maze where they were and she put a hand on her heart as she saw it was only a barking dog.. Well.. It wasn't barking now! Not with two lights shining on it!
Precious Fwoopers in the mystical night, that was scary!! She took several deep breaths as she tried to speak!
"It's all right, it scared me too! But yes! We are all right!" She was trying to convince herself as much as the older girl really.
She heard the Professor shout out that they had 20 minutes and she bit her lip!
"C'mon! We might have a chance to get that flag!" Or you know.. Get scared to death by a ghost dog.. Equal chance of that happening too!
Niomi wasn't good at spell games like this. She would have to try though, she was in class and needed to practice this new spell she learned. Walking into the maze, she didn't know which way to go first. She decided not to put too much thought into deciding. So she went the way her body guided her to.
Turn right, she was meet with silence. No movements, no one, nothing. Everything was still and quiet. Even if everything seemed fine, she decided to proceed with caution. As she continued to walk straight, she came to the end and found her having to turn left. Down this way she spotted a few classmates. Niomi started walking towards them, but alone the way she found another enterance and took it.
Niomi was walking in the maze for a little while now without any problems. That was until she heard something moving around.
WHAT COULD IT BE!?
One thing for sure was, Niomi didn't get scared. She was prepared to fit or confront what was in those bushes. She waited for it to come out. The sound went away as Niomi continued to walk. That wasn't ever a good thing. If the sound stopped it was hiding to attack. As she continued to walk, she kept her wand up and ready.
Then, something popped out. Without a second though she yelled, "Lumos Livens!" The professor said to expect creatures around her. By that said, she was going to us the spell she was just taught. After the spell was cased, she looked around. She couldn't see anything. That was until she looked at the ground. A bunny was running away. How cute. Even if the bunny was cute, Niomi was expecting much worse. Rolling her eyes, she continued on into the maze.
"Yes!" Kitty breathed a sigh of relief as Esme accepted her offer to accompany her into the maze. It wouldn't be nearly as scary with a friend nearby.
Noises of a Gytrash barking went off in the distance, too far away to be any threat to them. Kitty squealed and clung to Esme's arm instinctively. "Sorry," she said in embarrassment, letting go immediately. "I stumbled." Not true, but she was still trying to be brave.
And so they entered the maze, Esme in the lead but Kitty very close behind and to the side of her. Her hand was gripped tightly around her wand. As they walked, Kitty muttered the spell under her breath. "Lumon Livens, Lumos Livens, Lumos Livens..." She did not know why she was so scared. Once upon a time when she was much younger, her dad had taken her to a Muggle amusement park and they had visited a fake Haunted Mansion. Kitty had enjoyed every moment of it. But for some reason the maze was unnerving her, possibly because of how many lessons had gone wrong last year, which led to worries of something happening now. What if they met a REAL Gytrash? Kitty tried her best to dispel such crazy thought from her mind and focus on the task at hand.
A white blur came of nowhere and jumped past them. "GAA!" This time Kitty did not grab Esme's arm. Instead she raised her wand and pointed it at the blur.
But then she get a better look at it. It's ears were standing up straight like a Pomeranian and its face was actually rather docile. Kitty smiled and put her wand away."It's one of the stuffed animals. I don't think it will do anything."

Not expecting to be grabbed suddenly, Esme jumped slightly.
It was only Kitty and there was no need to be afraid; it had just startled her was all. "It's okay," she said giving a small smile. Clearly her friend was rather afraid. Was it the fact that they were dealing with dog creatures even if they weren't real? Everyone had fears. Bird monsters would have had Esme curled into a ball in fear no doubt but fortunately they wouldn't be dealing with that. Nope, they were headed into a maze.
Not really sure what way to go, she was moving in autopilot and heading in whichever direction her feet led her. This seemed like a decent strategy in her mind and she WAS making a note of her turnings just in case they hit a dead end and needed to backtrack somewhat. Lost in her own thoughts, she was rather startled to be brought back to reality by Kitty's sudden explanation. How cute; a little stuffed dog. "I wonder if Professor Hirsch will let us keep one," she said as she resisted the urge to snuggle the thing. Unfortunately they didn't have time to stick around because they needed to kick some Gytrash butt and capture a golden flag. Time was money.
"You all right?" Esme asked as they resumed. The activity shouldn't last for TOO long though she was having a hard time keeping track of time when there was no clock to look at. They had been told that there were twenty minutes left, but how long ago had the reminder been?
Suddenly she heard barking and almost dropped her wand as a dog popped up out of nowhere. Not just a dog, but a Gytrash. "I wasn't expecting that," she said with a nervous laugh as she reminded herself that this creature wasn't REAL. It was barking incessantly, however. Hand shaking slightly, she raised her wand. Taking a few deep breaths, she calmed herself. "Lumos Livens!"
"Lumos Livens! Lumos Livens!" The Gytrash's dummy jaw was inches from Hadley's face when her wand began to produce a vivid blue light. The dummy creature was gone the next second. Her heart was pounding in her chest. "That was close," she said to herself and then looked over at her plush traveling companion, Winter the dog. She was wagging her tail excitedly. Hadley scoffed. "Some help you were!"
The teen got up and dusted herself off, and started off again, Winter trotting along side her. They ran into two more Gytrash along the way, which Hadley dispatched with Lumos Livens. As much as she wanted to dispatch them with a patronus, she still couldn't produce one. Still, she was excited. Three Gytrash so close together meant she had to be going in the right direction.
IR also meant she had a compass, so to speak. Now if she ran into fewer Gytrash, the chances were she was moving away from the center, rather than towards it.
As she kept going she ran into four more Gytrash. All of which, disappointingly were dispatched with lumos livens and not a patronus. But it meant she was still on the right track and...
There it was. The center and the flag!! No one had gotten it yet! YES! Hadley rushed in and snatched the flag before rushing out the other side and almost tripped on a Gytrash. "LUMOS LIVENS!" Blue light erupted from her wand again, and the spectral dummy dog turned and fled. So Hads chased it, with Winter padding along behind her. Her hope was it would lead her to the exit.
It did. After 10 dead ends. Finally through, Hadley chased it down a corridor that spilled out into a larger room, dotted by bluebell flames. The exit. The Gytrash burst from maze first, fleeing from Hadley who tore out of the maze after it, wand tip glowing a bright blue and waving the golden flag triumphantly. And finally came Winter, the animated stuff dog. Which, "I'm keeping the dog, Sir Knight." It was a statement of fact, not a question. Winter was hers now. To say Hadley was beaming would be an understatement.

Tick..... tock...... tick...... tock.......
As each passing minute went by, the man became more and more bored. So much so, that he kept glancing around at each of the entrances of the maze, just to see if anyone had managed to find their way out again. Maybe, next time, he should pick an activity that he himself could take part in?
Tick...... tock...... tick...... to-
What in the name of?!
A few moments ago, the man had been bored out of his wits and now, here came Haddie Denaker, waving a flag and looking as though she'd scared the Gytrash and chased it out of the maze rather than the other way around. That, coupled with her statement, was enough to make the Defence Professor burst out into a fit of laughter. "Well done, Haddie, well done." And he wasn't going to say anything against her keeping the stuffed toy.
A few more glances at his watch were made until....... "Alright, time's up!" And with that, he made some intricate wand movements towards the greenery in front of him. The maze started shrinking down, almost as if the floor was pulling it in and making it disappear. Another wand movement and the Gytrash!dummies took their original shapes and backed up against the wall. The animated stuffed dogs could stay as they are.
Oh, and the Sonorus charm needed to be lifted. He didn't want to go around belting out simple sentences, after all.
"I'm afraid, that's it for the lesson. Thank you very much for coming. I hope you all learnt something today." And would not forget the lesson as soon as someone said 'dinner'. "If you want to keep the animated stuffed dogs, feel free to but be warned: the animation will wear off before long." Besides, what was he, a grown man, going to do with a bunch of stuffed toys? Exactly.
"Class dismissed!"
OOC: EEEEEE Thanks so so much for coming! I hope you guys enjoyed the lesson and it wasn't too boring for you. I appreciate you guys putting in the effort.
I'm going to keep the lesson thread open for another day if you want to post leaving. Thank you, once again!

thank goodness. they both seemed to be okay! Echo heard more noises but it sounded like the Professor, and she was right. everything seemed to be going away, Echo was a bit bummed that they didn't get the flag because they were both doing so well. "looks like class is over" and as soon as she said that the maze started to go away and she was pretty glad
Looking at the classroom, it was back to normal again. "do you want to ?keep one of these?" she asked her new friend.
"they are kind of cute!!!" for a animated dog teddy bear thing. Walking with her friend she grabbed her bag and said her goodbyes. "Bye Professor!! it was a great class!" she said while thinking about taking a nap, after her heart beat went crazy after this class. It was a good idea. "see you later Azura" she said while waving goodbye.
Ask Niomi was walking through the maze, Professor Hirsch announced it was the end. Already?? Someone found the flag?? Niomi was a bit upset and jealous someone found the flag before her. Next thing Niomi knew was the maze was disappearing. She could now see the classroom, her classmates and Professor Hirsch again. Class was over. Niomi was having a fun time and was slightly upset that class was now over. Well, she will have to wait until next class to enjoy some more fun. Grabbing her things, Niomi started heading out of the classroom. "Thanks Professor. I had a lot of fun. Have a good day," she said, with a wave and smile as she existed the classroom.

Tick...... tock...... tick...... to-
What in the name of?!
Vivian started getting calm now. She tried to warm up now, and twirled her wand with her fingers. Hopefully she wasn't going to freeze on the spot Fiyero was around to save her and that, if he wasn't, the gytrash was only a dummy and it couldn't possibly attack such a cute little girl right? Realistically speaking, a real gytrash wouldn't think twice about nomming on such young meat. The Slytherin tried to knock it into her brain that she had to get a grip and stand up for herself.
Though she did want her mum's hand to hold and possibly more cuddles from those animated toy dogs earlier. Those made gytrash-fighting sound a little more comforting in a way. She was such a baby.
But nevertheless, the blonde was still very thankful for being saved. She would rather be attacked by PRANCER cuddles now, and not gytrash dummies. Thanks. "I would've done the same... if I didn't panic, at least." Which she did, and that was absolutely stupid. Maybe Professor Pretty could bring in something more... not dangerous? Dummies were already scary enough. Could they try something like how to not make sure flobberworms bite you? Or how to defend yourself from gnomes? However, that would've been booooring anyway.
"You know, I think I'll start calling you Zorro now because he's a lifesaver hero kinda person just like you!" Her fellow firstie received all the grins too, because why not? Also, nobody ever said no to Vivian nicknames. On top of that, she had horrible memory so she most likely forgot the small details of that visit to Flourish and Blotts. Except that Fiyero was there, and Rachel, and his cousin.
Vivian wasn't exactly the leadership kind of girl, so she was bound to agree to whatever Fiyero wanted to do. She let him led, but she considered his question about where to go. She looked at her right, then her left, then behind her. Well, if there was a hidden pattern in this maze, she wouldn't have guessed because she didn't really know how to analyse these kind of things. Definitely another reason why she wasn't sorted into Ravenclaw like her smartiepants mum. "I usually went with my own, like randomly choose between left or right but nooooow I'd saaaay..." She surveyed the paths again. "Left, let's go left." For no apparent reason.
But then before Vivi was expecting another attack from some movement at the end of the path, Hirsch had announced the end of the lesson. Already? That was fast. The Slytherin pouted, feeling like she lost everything because she wasn't able to capture the golden flag like she was hoping. Sighs, guess beginner's luck wasn't a thing for her then. Better luck next time.
"Sorry we weren't able to find the flag. Maybe next time?" They were first years anyway, and there was obviously a lot more time for improvement in their parts. So far, she wasn't doing well but whatever. That was all part of learning, like her mum would say. But yeah, she did snatch an animated dog toy because WHY NOT? She'd ask Professor Hirsch to animate it for her soon, or Professor Primeaux. Her Kneazle wouldn't mind. Sometimes it sucked to have nobody in the dormitory, which was situated in the Dungeons - damp and cold.
Vivi held tight to her new toy dog and skipped towards Professor Hirsch to get one more look on his pretty face before leaving. "Thanks for the great lesson, Professor!" And thanks for your loving presence too! Ehe. "I'll keep this doggy. May I visit you soon to have him animated again when it wears off?" Even the more reason to see his lovely face! Oh yeah, moves like Vivian.

Fiyero smiled at the new nickname. Vivian really thought he was a hero? Well, maybe that was a bit much but... It was a lot better than the ones his cousins or the muggles at his old school had given him, that's for sure! He just hoped Killian wouldn't find out about it or he'd never hear the end of it. "Well, I've been called a lot worse," he said, "and anyway, Zorro sounds a lot cooler than Fiyero." He pulled a face at the sound of his name. For some reason, long awkward names ran in his family.
He had just turned left at Vivian's suggestion when Professor Hirsch's voice startled him. Class was over already? Darn! A few more minutes, and they could've had that flag... "It's not your fault," he said, turning back the way he came. "At least we tried..." Surely Hirsch wouldn't flunk them for not getting a flag, right?
He glanced at the stuffed toy dog in Vivian's arms and inwardly berated himself for not thinking to get one for his little sister. How could he be so stupid? Ariel would've loved one of those! Oh, well.... nothing to do about it now. He picked up his bag and started for the door, taking extra care not to trip over anything this time. "Bye, Professor," he said, glancing back. "That was a really fun lesson!"

Letting out a slow breath the Slytherin watched the Gytrash disappear just seconds before there was a call just Hirsch that the lesson was over. Crinkling her nose a little bit that she hadn't managed to get to the flag she stood where she was as the hedges all disappeared. Blinking a few times she slowly made her way back towards the center of the room where her things were from earlier.
As she walked she could hear the sound of something running up behind her. Another student maybe? Glancing over her shoulder she didn't see anyone but rather the same little white ball of stuffed fluff that had lead her the wrong way. Staring down at it she nearly laughed. "What you want to come with me? You took me the wrong way and now you like me hmm?" With a slight shake of her head in disbelief she knelt down and scooped the toy dog up. "Alright then Trouble. You can consider yourself mine now." With a pat on it's head she crossed the room and grabbed up her bag slinging it over her shoulder. "Nice lesson Professor, I'll take this little one with me!," Hady remembered to call back just before leaving the room, casting a grin over her shoulder towards Hirsch.

Oh, it was over.
That was fast. He'd just been enjoying himself with the dogs. Watching the maze and Gytrashes disappear, he shrugged and gave the dog one last cuddle before standing back up and grinning at the professor man. "Thanks, professor. That was a pretty cool lesson." Aaaaand now, if the doggie would just follow him out, he needed to introduce Hermes to his new pet friend.
Kye couldn't say still if she preferred Lumos or Lumos Levens... one was practical and one was pretty... She supposed if it was a Gytrash type coming after her, it would be practical over pretty. She would need to practice her pretty blue a bit more. She was starting to get it there at the end of course, but oh well. She thanked the professor on her way out, even if that was a bit of a creepy class, and headed on out.
