credit: hermionesclone After following the sloping, earthy passage to the Hufflepuff Common Room, you'll find yourself in a large circular space. The room is cozy, low-ceilinged, and filled with natural sunlight streaming in from the circular windows that are level with the ground outside the castle. If you peer out, you'll have an amazing view of the grass, flowers, and perhaps even people lounging around.
The room is decorated in the Hufflepuff house colors, filled with beautifully polished wooden furniture, and the comfortably worn sofa and chairs sitting in front of the fire place for those looking to relax. The portrait of Helga Hufflepuff has been hung with care above the wooden mantelpiece and she looks out over the common room, holding her golden cup up in a toast.
For your seven years here at Hogwarts this will be your home and there's no better place to get to know your second family than right here.

"These are soooo yummy!" Harriet beamed as she popped some skittles into her mouth. She loved sweeties, so she was glad to have some in the room. "You never tried them?" Hattie murmured, staring up at the Fat Friar. "That is so sad... they are really yummy. But too many can make you really hyper." So it was sometimes really good to not have too much. Being really hyper was not good at all.
"That sounds like a good game!" She murmured with a big beam. "Will it not hurt to have things fly through you thought?" Because she knew walking through a ghost made a human feel really funny. So surely it would hurt the ghost?

It was amazing to see all the people come over to see what all the fuss was about. Now everyone could enjoy the Skittles! Too bad the Friar couldn't because he was dead. "Well, they taste sweet like fruit. There are all sorts of flavours. The yellow ones are lemon and the orange ones are orange." She wasn't going to list all of them though. Nope. "The red ones are my favourite; they are strawberry." Yum.
As Brady and Juno joined the group, Esme smiled at them. "Hey, guys! The Skittles fountain has been put in!" she said in reply to her sister's question. Wasn't that exciting?!
AND A GAME.
"I am totally up for that if everyone else is!" Well, it wouldn't be mean since the Friar had proposed the idea himself... Normally she wouldn't throw food at any of the ghosts because it would be disrespectful. | |

Kat was tired of studying it was all she felt like she had done for weeks. She was even missing out on kissing time with Cornelius. Not wanting to leave the common room since it was after dinner and close to bedtime. She had gotten the idea from a letter than she had gotten from her little sister about there start of summer sleepover in the treehouse in their yard.
The second year conjured up blankets and pillows and was now arranging them to make a fort in the common, Maybe if she asked professor Myers if she could keep it up until the end of term. Or maybe even keep it up next term too. She took a step back to get a look at it. Not Bad Delgado. She beamed and belly flopped into the pillowed covered floor.

Esme practically squealed because blanket forts were always so much fun and something that she had loved to do when she was little. Didn't EVERY kid enjoy them? They were like treehouses and balloon fights and all the other wonderful things that people enjoyed when they were little. Blowing bubbles!! All things that Esme still loved to do even though she was now a teenager because age didn't always matter and she would never stop being a kid at heart.

Would ANYONE say no to the invitation to come inside a blanket fort? Maybe adults, but it would be a few years until she was one and even then she would have a lot of fun because she would never stop being lighthearted.
"Sure!" She crawled in and got herself comfortable. "Thanks! I'm Esme." Because even if she had seen her around she wasn't very familiar with her besides knowing that she was close to Brady. Esme didn't know Brady too well but he was pretty cool in her books. | |
