CoMC Lesson 1: Crup Care 101

It’s nearing on 9am and the late risers may be wondering why they’re up so early. Hopefully that confusion doesn’t last for long, however, because it’s almost time for class! Nine AM on the dot, no exceptions. No excuses. The way it always is.

Your Professor can be found standing in the usual area where class is held by the barn. Luckily for you, he has taken appropriate measures to make sure the area has been insulated nicely with some incredible heating charms coupled with some shielding insulation. It’s definitely not as warm as it could be, but it should be tolerable for the next hour of class. Two benches have been set up, as per usual, though the grass is also an option if you’d prefer to sit there instead. Don’t get too comfortable though, you’re going to be getting up very soon!

A bunch of tub stations have been scattered around the grassy area and if you listen closely, you may pick up on some unusual sounds… But there isn’t anything unusual in plain sight. Hm, guess you’ll just have to wait and see what’s in store for the day! Better hurry, we’re starting on time!

OOC: Hey y’all! Welcome to our first CoMC lesson of term! I'll be moving on in 18+ hours! Please take the time to look at the CoMC rules and SS rules in the meantime!

Additionally, though this is our first lesson together this term, it should NOT be your charrie’s first CoMC lesson of the year!

Class is officially in session! Any arrivals posted from this point forward will risk point loss dun, dun, DUN. Just play as if you've been here the whole time, no one will know the difference *wink wink* *nudge nudge*

Class Progression:
1. Individual Greetings + Get a crup and make friends!
2. Give your cruppy a brush
3. Brushing teeth
4. Bath time!
5. Drying timeeee

Echo yawned, she made her way down to Care of Magical Creatures.. why did it have to be so early! she didnt even have time to tame her bed head. Really looking like a hot mess, Echo reached the area and yawned yet again. "Morning Professor Draper" did this man have coffee, because she could go for like 10 cups of it.

Wrapping her cloak around her further it was quite chilly. yess, please some coffee. to wake her up and keep her warm. or her bed, Echo didnt know which one sounded better. She sat down on one of the benches hoping not to fall asleep.

MunchyBubbles 06-02-2016 03:18 PM

The "early" morning wasn't a problem for Azura. The girl still wasn't sleeping well and has awoken at 4 that morning. She had done all of her homework and was working on some charms when she had noticed the time.

She had grabbed her cloak and some mittens and headed down to the barn!

Ahh, right on time! A bit early even! She waved at the Professor. "Mornkng Professor Draper." She said with a nod. Her voice wasn't exactly cheerful, and she didn't have a smile on her face, but she didn't look sad either. This was going to be a hard month for her, and she was trying to keep her expression nuetral so as not to worry anyone.

She sat down on a bench and wrapped her cloak around her as she looked around, wondering what the stations were for.

Expecto-Penguin 06-02-2016 03:18 PM

A 9am class? That must be a joke right?

This late riser didn't really want to wake up but he knew he must attend some lessons if he was ever planning on graduating. Well at least he was going to a class he enjoyed. After he ate his little breakfast and rubbing the sleepiness out of his eyes, he made his way to the class. He felt the nip of the cold air hit his skin and now he was wide awake. He found the area and saw Echo was there. Man was he delusional there was no one here yet. I guess he came here too early. He could have slept later if he wanted to.

He saw the Professor and nodded towards him and mumbled, "Morning.." and then sat on the cold benches. "Professor I think it is time to invest in some bench warmers.." Just a simple suggestion.

Hiraeth 06-02-2016 03:27 PM

What the actual hell? -___- WHY DID THEY HAVE TO BE HERE AT 9 IN THE BLOODY MORNING???!!! Didn't Professor Hawt-Stuff know that she was still ASLEEP this early in the morning? It was still waaaaayyyyy too early for her taste, since she usually woke up around 11:30 and that was only on a good-day.

The Snake gave a little grumble and wrapped her cloak tighter around her popsicle-body. Not only was it super early, but it was bloody cold as well. Mason's nose was gonna freeze off by the time the lesson was done. She gave Professor Draper a little glare as she passed him, if he was smart he'd take it as a light suggestion to start moving their classes indoors. He had an entire BARN, she wouldn't mind the smelly place as much if it stopped her from getting hyperthermia.

She spotted the poker-faced Azura and gave her a frozen-handed-wave. Colt didn't look all that pleased, so they were in the same boat. Snakes are cold-blooded after all. . . And now they had to sit on benches, it this weather? Was he trying to make them suffer???

Callie 06-02-2016 03:42 PM

Despite having CoMC class in the morning, Hadley Denaker was in a good mood. Mostly. And not even Draper was going to spoil it. Gently humming the suite to The Nutcracker--holiday appropriate and a subtle ballet jab--Hadley made her way down to the barn.

All intentions of keeping her good mood however, soured at the sight of the man. She couldn't help but picture that smug gloating expression he had on in the spare office. The sting of him beating her hadn't faded either. But she was different now. Not the same broken girl she'd been then. She had her fight back. Actually, all she felt like doing these days was fighting. Which was completely the opposite problem from what she had that day in the office.

"Good morning," she said sourly and gave the man a nod of the head. How would she address him? The silence was allowed to linger a moment, building the suspense. "Drapes." There was her Denaker smirk again. With that Hadley made her way to the benches and took a seat far from anyone else. She wasn't in a great mood anymore and it was probably best to keep to herself for now.

Steelsheen 06-02-2016 03:55 PM

"Hey-o Professor Draper!" the Curly Top popped up with the usual megwatt smile and a beat to his step. Creatures things, these were the activities that made him feel like he's back home. Naturally this will be one of his favorite classes. Early call time or chilly weather cant keep this boy away from....

.... Tubs?

His bright blue-green eyes scanned the area. Ok there was something he could hear but nothing he could see which was the first thing he was expecting when he sees tubs in the area. So yeah he went to blabber out the second thing that popped in his head "We're not gonna do laundry today are we Prof?"

Oh and there he goes parking his bum right next to Denaker who had to pick the faaaarthest corner bench from the lot. He might have to yell out his answers from here.

Kolyander 06-02-2016 05:57 PM

The 'early' hour of the mornings lesson meant nothing at all to one Miss Hadleigh Lynch. Getting up early was always something she had done since she was a small child. Only now she wasn't waking up extra early to watch her favorite muggle cartoons for school, lately it was to get a morning run in before breakfast and then lessons. Today was no different. After her early run around the grounds she had headed inside, cleaned up, put on her school robes and grabbed her things before making her way to the kitchen for an apple, which she ate on the walk outside. By the time she reached the area where the CoMC lesson was being held the apple was gone and disposed of.

"Good morning Professor Draper," the brunette greeted with a small grin. A quick glance towards her peers and some small smiles of a nod of the head were given to them. Another look around had her raising an eyebrow curiously at the tub stations up front. Were they helping to give something a bath today? It sorta looked like the tubs she had used to help clean some of the creatures at the reserve during the summer. Her attention was already peaked and she was curious.

Taking a seat on one of the benches she pushed her hood off her head deciding she didn't even need it. It really wasn't as cold as everyone was making it out to be.

Stormdancer 06-02-2016 06:36 PM

Unlike ... what seemed like... everyone else being half asleep and barely here, Marsha was wide awake and bouncy for yet another CoMC lesson. As usual, she had gone through her morning routine of running, training and then coming into the barn to help with their breakfast and morning routine. Then she had gone and gotten ready for the day before having breakfast with Vince... who wasn't as much of a morning person as she was but he did love his food.

With a soft bounce in her step, the smiley redhead waved at the her favourite Professor, said "Good morning!" with more enthusiasm than a lot of her peers and then looked around at the class set up. With a shrug, she sat down on the grass juuust in front of a bench and smiled as she looked at the tubs. Curious. She tried to sit up a little, and shrink, and then lean a bit closer to the one just off to her side..

But nope, she couldn't decifer which creature was there... guess she would just have to wait.

Goblinfrog 06-02-2016 06:38 PM

Kitty didn't mind waking early at all, but it was annoying to have to go outside this early. In fact she usually did wake up a little bit earlier than the others in her dormitory, though then she would spend the extra time reading a book or applying makeup and combing her hair. Because of the earlier than usual class schedule, this time she only had to put on eyeliner and comb her hair.

"Morning Professor Draper." She slumped down on the grass and looked curiously over at the tubs. "Are we going to be studying water creatures today?"

Lislchen 06-02-2016 06:45 PM

Pfft, what do you mean by early class? Maggie'd been up for almost three hours now.

Wrapped in her warmest sweater AND covered in the heating charms, the sixth year had made her way down from the castle very much awake and not at all tired. Seriously though, 9am wasn't that early at all. Who even slept that long anyway? Only lazy people, that's who. And she was definitely NOT one of those.

"Good morning, Professor." Maggie greeted Professor Draker once she was close enough for him to hear her. She even sent a smile his way before taking a seat on one of the two benches. Tugging on her pink earmuffs she made sure they covered her ears completely before crossing her legs and waiting for the class to start.

Now, where was the rest?

WhittyBitty 06-02-2016 06:49 PM

Fighting the urge to yawn, Esme made her way towards the barn. These early mornings were never her thing, but at least she was up and looking decent. A good breakfast also helped matters - it always did.

"Morning, Professor," she said as she wrapped her cloak tightly around herself; she was COLD. At least there were some heating and insulation charms to make things better. And what was with the little tubs? Seemed that they were going to do some grooming today which could be rather interesting. Sadly she had a feeling that they wouldn't be grooming baby Unicorns. They were way too cute and she wanted one. Her mom had a pony when she was at Hogwarts so Esme wasn't sure why she couldn't get a Unicorn; money definitely wasn't an issue for her family and they could easily house one at the stables.

Her friends all got waves and Esme made her way to sit by Hady. "Hey," she told her friend with a smile. She was ready to get started and this was one of her favourite classes because she loved learning about magical creatures and working with them.

PhoenixWizard 06-02-2016 08:27 PM

Early morning was not Niomi best time of the day. She hated getting up. This morning, she got up a little extra early to make sure she wasn't last for class. Five minutes before nine, she arrived. Niomi was a little grouchy, but she arrived on time. "Morning Professor," she greeted, with a small smile on her face. Waiting off to the side, she was ready to start this lesson. Who knows what we will learn today. This was one of her favorite classes, she always loved to learn something new.

Lissy Longbottom 06-02-2016 10:25 PM

Scarlett always appreciated when the professors held lessons in WARM, heated places. She was all for being one with nature and everything, but not if it meant freezing down to her very core. Plus, it meant she could show off a bit of her style, so her cardigan and skirt uniform was accessorized with a cute gold headband and some sparkly rings she'd gotten at Florida almost a year ago.

"Hello Professor!" she said happily as she walked into the class area, selecting a nice little patch of grass and laying her coat on top of it so she could sit without getting her bum cold. It was at least warm enough in here that she was pretty toasty in her cardigan.

Although she had a feeling that was going to change as she eyed the tubs in front of them. Oh great. Something was going to get a bath today, wasn't it??

oh its Erik ok 06-03-2016 12:23 AM

Now this was a lesson Dante would willing show up. No thought of skipping crossed his mind. This was Dreary Draper's class how could he miss it. Even if it was nine in the morning and Dante seriously needed some more coffee and well he would rather be sleeping. So with a giant yawn

"Hello Professor. Nice to see its a little bit warmer here than in your office"

Now to sit and wait for probably a Dull lesson since well....

Dante did not even need to say anymore. But he was here so Draper you better give him full marks for being here.

SilverTiger 06-03-2016 01:19 AM

Brooklyn’s personal opinion on CoMC was essentially that it could be interesting, but it all depended on the subject. For example, dragons were infinitely more interesting than fish, yet she doubted, even after the field trip, that Professor Draper would choose to teach them about dragons. Not to mention she was still not the biggest fan of holding early morning classes outside. It wasn’t the mornings that bothered her, as she could wake up whenever she chose and occasionally that meant early. It was the matter of dealing with it being winter outside. At the very least he could’ve held the class inside the barn or something, but no, they were meeting outside as always.

She wasn’t particularly surprised as she’d reached the vicinity of the class that the area was warmer than normal. At least it meant the professor wasn’t completely unintelligent. “Good morning Professor Draper,” she said, giving the man a nod as she headed for a seat on the bench near Hady. She was determined not to let anything annoy her today, and she took her wand out and cast a quiet heating charm on the bench before she settled in. Just for precautions.

Olly really liked Care of Magical Creatures. He liked to be outdoors, and he liked creatures, so it was an all around good time. He didn't mind the early hour like some people did. He was an early riser anyway, but 9am wasn't even that early. It was, like, a regular time, right? People should be awake anyway. He always was. So he was bright eyed and wide awake as he arrived a few minutes early to class. He couldn't risk being late but he didn't like to be too early. Olly took a seat in the grass and looked around, wondering what sort of creatures they would be studying that lesson. So far he didn't see any.

Kimothy 06-03-2016 05:19 AM

Besides Herbology, Care of Magical Creatures was another class that Vivian was definitely looking forward to. Waking up early wasn't even a bother to her, because she knew this class was going to be GREAT and was very excited. At least, that's what her mum said. Also, she liked the Professor as well. Professor Draper was awesomesauce. And she didn't care that the trip from her common room to the barn was long and tiring.

Vivi skipped her way towards the barn and peeked inside to see if she wasn't late or anything. But then... why would she be late for such an awesome class? Seeing that the coast was clear and that she wasn't late, Vivi skipped inside. "Good morning, Professor Draper! Seems like a splendid day for yet another lesson!" She was so full of positive happy vibes. Then she went to take a seat in front and looked around her. Weird sounds, though. She tried not to mind it.

But the TUB STATIONS caught her attention. The Slytherin looked at them, and then back at the Professor in front. Were they going to take a bath? LOL. "Uhh... I've already taken a shower, Professor..." Silly silly. Why were their tubs here anyway?

While he stood alone, James entertained himself by making guesses as to who would be the first to arrive. It was a little game he enjoyed playing. One much like the one he played whenever he heard a knock on his office door. Always interesting to see if his perceptions of particular students ended up matching the real thing.

Of course there wasn't any way he'd be getting the first arrival correct by chance because there were about three million students at least that's what it often felt like and to guess the correct one... Would be nearly impossible. Which is why he had it narrowed down to either the blue house or the green. And ah, "Stay awake, Ms. Duchannes," he smiled to himself. He was right.

And he continued being right as the next arrival also happened to be from one of the two houses he had guessed. This one was blue, however. The difference here being that this one actually looked ready to get to work. Maybe that was the true difference in mannerisms between the green and the blues. "Good morning indeed, Ms. Kennedy," he nodded as she went to find a seat.

He was more chipper than usual, could they tell?

The mumbling boy was given a nod in return to that weak greeting he had opted for. But oh, that wasn't all? James leaned a little closer, in case the mumbling continued, truly intrigued to see just what else the boy would have to say. If he remembered correctly, this one was entertaining. "I'll keep that in mind, Winchester," and he wasn't disappointed. Entertaining, indeed. Of course James wasn't planing to keep that in mind at all. But fortunately for Colt, they wouldn't be on the benches for long.

And..... Some weren't as happy to be here, it seemed.

Merlin it was only 9am, with the way some of the kids were reacting you'd think James had called a midnight lesson or something. Honestly, 9 wasn't even that unreasonable. They'd be graduated and out in the real world one day. And more times than not, employers weren't incredibly generous with starting shift times. James was merely preparing them for what was to come.

He made a point to go out of his way and give the angry child a nod and a, "And good morning to you too, Stevens," and that's how it's done.

Eh, well he had been in a good mood for all of seven minutes. That was a new record, eh? Not that his mood was instantly soured upon sight of the next arrival, but now that Haddie was here... His mood would surely head in that direction soon. Some things are just too good to last.

He returned her greeting with a nod of acknowledgement, choosing to pretend as if he didn't hear the last part of what she said. It was too early in the day to take away points. He was being generous. She could thank him later.

And finally, a student from his former house. Honestly, thank Merlin it happened sooner rather than later because there was already enough Ravenclaw and Slytherin angst here to last through the entire lesson and then some. Some Gryffindor spirit would surely help diffuse the stiffness that had collected in the vicinity.

Which is why this enthusiastic Gryffindor's arrival was met with a rare grin. "'Morning, Mr. Salander," he said, incredibly amused at the boy's choice in greeting. This one was always brought a show. "Not today," he replied, slightly worried for the kid's sanity yet also very amused. "But if you feel the need, I won't stop you." It'd be entertaining, that's for sure.

Ah, he was wondering when he'd see this face. "Ms. Lynch," he nodded warmly. "Always ready," he noted. Unlike many of the other's, Hadleigh was always prepared for her lessons. Or at least for the CoMC ones. It was a quality he appreciated. Especially when some of her housemates looked like they were on the brink of falling back to sleep. In which case, they ought to take a page out of Ms. Lynch's book. She had the right idea.

And though this one tended to be overly enthusiastic, he appreciated the extra pep this morning. Maybe Marsha's eagerness would rub off on the others, yeah? If everyone had a sour face, this wouldn't be an easy lesson. Even James was making more of an effort today.

"Ms Hanover," he nodded. "Great morning for a run," he commented knowingly. This one had a routine. Probably why she was much more cheery than some of her fellow classmates.

"Good Morning, Maggie," see kids, THIS is what he was talking about. Were the other sulky Slytherins taking notes? Because this is what they ought to show up to class like. Honestly, they were given schedules at the beginning of the term. It should've been no surprise to see Creatures with the early slot. Not that this was anything new.

Honestly, it was a wonder that Hogwarts didn't have a theatre club. Place was swarming with dramatics.

Another usual late riser, he could tell just by the mannerisms in the way they walked. Though it was evident that this one was trying to fight it, and James did appreciate that. It wasn't easy to break habits, he knew better than any one. So he gave her a warm nod, "Ms. Darcy," greeting her as she walked around to find

Niomi was a little grouchy, but she arrived on time. "Morning Professor," she greeted, with a small smile on her face. Waiting off to the side, she was ready to start this lesson. Who knows what we will learn today. This was one of her favorite classes, she always loved to learn something new.

He was glad to see that students were making an effort to show up today. "Good mooorning," he said as the next arrival made her way in. She got a small nod as well, as he watched her turn to take her seat.

Just then he checked his watch. They still had some time before the lesson started. Plenty of time for the stragglers to make their way over. Of course there would be the handful that still waited until the very last second to run in. There were always the few. Always.

It was good to see some variety make it's way in. There were far too many Green and Blue robes. Some yellow and red were definitely needed to keep balance. Especially when so many of the Green and Blue seemed to be in terrible moods today. He could always count on the yellows to have a pep in their step not often appreciated, but at times a necessity. He gave this particular young one a nod as she chirped in greeting. "Welcome," he greeted as if she were walking into a room and not just walking into the outdoor area where class was being held.

"Hello Professor. Nice to see its a little bit warmer here than in your office"

Now to sit and wait for probably a Dull lesson since well....

Dante did not even need to say anymore. But he was here so Draper you better give him full marks for being here.

Ah another one of the faces he enjoyed seeing in his class. Dante always brought an interesting perspective with him. One that often times laced itself with mockery and an attempt to cross lines. But an amusing one nevertheless. "I must've taken your advice to heart, Barrington."

The next arrival was another curious one. Not in the same way as Barrington, no. But equally interesting all the same. Despite the judgment he could feel emanating off of her being at all times, James appreciated students like Brooklyn. Quiet, obedient, and always respectful. Really that's all that mattered here. He gave her a nod to return her own, "Morning, Ms. Andrews."

So he was bright eyed and wide awake as he arrived a few minutes early to class. He couldn't risk being late but he didn't like to be too early. Olly took a seat in the grass and looked around, wondering what sort of creatures they would be studying that lesson. So far he didn't see any.

See, it really was a normal hour. Especially for children, weren't they used to waking up this early for school anyways? Merlin. Had the other Professors ignored the 9am slot in the past? Because it definitely was an option, that's why James had picked it. He nodded at the quiet kid, giving him the benefit of the doubt and assuming he was just too eager to remember to say hello.

And another eager beaver, eh? By now it seemed the ratio of pouters to bouncers had evened out nicely. Hopefully this meant there would be some balance during the lesson and not a giant game of mood tug-of-war. That would be disastrous. "That it is, Ms. Fairfield," he nodded, appreciating her enthusiasm but hoping for the sake of his sanity that it didn't extend much beyond this.

.... What.

"Glad to hear that...." Uh, good to know that first years still believed in hygiene? But no, that's not what the tubs were for. Not for them, at least.

Finally the trickle of students began to lessen after the sudden peak in arrivals. It was always a bell shaped curve and by the time the seconds started to matter most, the majority of the class was already in attendance. Glad to see they were choosing to practice punctuality. James took a look at his watch, waiting until the minute hand reached it’s proper home before walking over to center himself in front of the class. ”Good morning,” he started. ”Instead of wasting time with a lengthy introduction, we’re jumping right into business today.” How did that sound? No complaints yet, were there? Because if so, James really didn’t care to hear them. #SorryNotSorry.

”I have been in contact with a local animal shelter since the beginning of term and with their help, we made it possible to bring some furry visitors in for the day.” And with a flick of his wand, he revealed the cruppy pen which had previously been under a disillusionment charm. The cruppies were as enthusiastic as the bounciest of Hufflepuffs, jumping on top of each other and letting out soft barks in excitement. Even James Draper couldn’t help but smile warmly at the sight. It was enough to melt even the coldest of hearts.

”Today we’ll be going over proper crup care, as well as getting some hands on experience,” he said walking over to the pen pausing momentarily to let the students take a look. They were excited, yeah? Cruppies were a lot more fun than some of the other possible lessen subjects. ”With that being said, I’m going to ask everyone to walk over to the pen calmly and single file. Once I hand you a cruppy, you can take it and sit by a tub station. You want it to gain your trust from the beginning so now would be a great time to make friends. Be gentle, show them some love, while we wait for everyone to get a cruppy.” Nothing too difficult, yeah?

Just to be sure, he picked on up and held it in his arms, giving her a nice rub behind her ears. Did they get it? Gentle. Calm. Love. Fairly straightforward. Easy enough even for the first years. ... Alright so what were they waiting for?

OOC: This marks the official start of the lesson! Any arrivals posted after this point will risk point loss dun, dun, DUN.

For this task:
+ Don’t wait for me to post James giving you a cruppy, just play as if you’ve been handed one
+ Each cruppy has a collar with a name plate, so feel free to make up the name
+ This is your chance to play with the crups, pet them, talk to them, etc

Well that was awkward. But really, Vivian didn't seem to have a filter to her words at the moment. She literally blurted out whatever her eleven year old brain could think of. Usually that got her into trouble but at least not today. Yay for that, then?

When class started, the Slytherin paid close attention. She wasn't really sure about the real reason why they were presented with tub stations in class today. She tilted her head a little bit. But when Professor Draper mentioned FURRY VISITORS, her jaw dropped. "GODZILLA!" Hehehehe! "Except... he's not furry. He's actually pretty scary." Meh... could someone stop her from talking please?

It was only when the pen was revealed when Vivian's face lit up. CRUPPIES! OH MY GOSH! She was literally all heart eyes at the moment. Of course, she wasn't going to allow herself to be LAST to receive a cruppy so when they were allowed to form a line, she blotted up and went immediately. Ain't got no time for slackers, yo! Also, since she was soooo far away from Prancer, she was very excited to play with one today!

When it was her turn, the blonde tried to contain her excitement... which she failed at, by the way. She was oozing with enthusiasm. Once she was handed one, she felt like she was going to burst into happy tears. A cruppy... in her arms!

BEST. DAY. EVER. ;______;

"Hi, cutie patootie! What your name be?" Vivian said as she stroked the fella's fur. Adorable. This was amazing. "Oh, your name's..." Vivi squinted at the name tag around the puppy's neck. "Pepito." Strange name, though. She wouldn't name her dog that, by the way. Oh well, the fact that the cruppy looked SO CUTE made up for it.

And yeah, she received cruppy appreciation licks and cuddles. Happy Vivian was happy.

"Yes Sir," Hadleigh replied to James' comment about always being ready. Almost always was she ready for her lessons. Even when she wasn't fully in her proper mindset she had been rather prepared and today was a good day so far. Nothing drastic had happened yet and the lesson being one of her favorites made it that much better.

Waiting for everyone else to arrive she couldn't help glancing back towards the two large bins. What was inside them? Whatever it was it must be semi smallish to fit in there but then again it all depended on how many of whatever they were was inside.

Drapers voice caught the girls attention and she turned her head to where the man had been standing. The fact that there weren't any questions being asked left no hint to the days lesson but then it wasn't needed. A charm was lifted making many little cruppy visible and Hady nearly, nearly beamed in excitement! Eeeppp! Crups were one of the cutest ever and having spent almost her whole summer helping with one the teen liked them even more then before.

Rising to her feet she joined the line to get a cruppy to work with. With a small grin she took the little one from the professor and was already smoothing the fur between it's ears the second she got it. Cradling it in her arms close to her chest she returned to her seat on the bench. "Hey there little one, lets see what your name is hmm?..." she whispered rubbing one of the crups ears while checking it's name tag on it's collar. "Sammie? Well that's a nice easy name." Hady grinned down at the one on her lap.

Hadley gave Salamander a smile that failed to reach her eyes and seemed to say typical. If anyone would be oblivious to her mood and happen to choose today to sit by her, it would be Tenacius. He might just succeed in cheering her up, and she wasn't sure how she felt about that. Sometimes, you just wanted to be in the mokd you were in, you know.

And yet, today just seemed determined to not let her keep her mood. Hadley was mostly ignoring Drapes as usual, but the man got her attention the second he dropped the disillusionment charm. Hads perked up instantly, her bad mood already draining away. She tensed and grabbed Tenacius' arm. A quick glance at the Too much cute, I can't even... face she had going would tell him instantly she was being overwhelmed by the "Puppies!

laurange 06-03-2016 04:06 PM

HE GOT A PUPPY.

A PUPPY, A REAL PUPPY. HA, MA. YOU THOUGHT BRIAN WOODS COULDN'T POSSIBLY TAKE CARE OF A PUPPY AND NOW THEY WERE GETTING ONE FROM SCHOOL. HA. He was going to take such good care of this puppy, mmmhmmmmm. "Thanks, Professor!" AND CUE LARGE AMOUNTS OF CUDDLING. WHEEEEEEEEEE. PUPPY. This hufflepuff had wanted a dog since forever, okay.

And the fact that it was a crup could go mostly unnoticed. He could dig the forked tail. Okay cruppy puppy, to the washing tubs they go!

MunchyBubbles 06-03-2016 05:46 PM

Azura's face couldn't help but break into a smile as she saw the cruppies! They were so cute! And they got to hold one? Eeeeeee! Almost instantly her mood depressed mood was gone as she got the crup and gently cuddled it in her arms as she carefully walked over to the washing tubs.

"Hey little guy! What's you name?" She asked as she sat down and gently stoked the crups head before looking down at the name tag, what she saw instantly made her purple eyes fill with tears..

"Piper... That's an amazing name. It was my moms. " She said in a slightly stilted whisper as she kissed the crups head and snuggled it. "I'm going to take good care of you Piper. " She whispered softly as she buried her head in its fur.

It always felt good to make a Professor smile, specially one who was known to be a bit grumpy-pants, or so they say. Specially by the one he sat next to. He gave the man a thumbs up at his response. At least that sounds like a go signal to give everybody a bath?? Just kidding..... :shifty:

But oh sweet Merlin! His first thought has been confirmed with such rounding jubilation with the sight and sound of--- "CRUPPIES!!!!!!!!!"

Stand up and form a line calmly? Sure. He didn’t say nothing about moving quickly. So there the Curly Top goes vaulting over the benches and practically gazelle-ing into line. Gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme!

He finally got his hands full of the furry energetic furball. "Heyyyy---" boy? girl? Gonna get biological here ahem.. peeeek "--Boy! Hey boy! How you doin??" he greeted the crup so excited to be finally out of its pen its two tails were slapping together to a beat of just pure joy. "What your name bud?" he asked between licks of the happy crup. He has a collar that for sure.... But wheres the name tag?

And so it seems, its name tag went missing.

"Awww, you got no nametag boy.... Which means I get to name yah! Yeah yeah??" beam beam beam.

The little crup paused for a moment as it angled its head, as if weighing if this was a good idea. But before it can agree or disagree he can feel himself flyiiiing..... Or at least that’s what it seemed to him at the speed that Tenacius move to find a nice tub station.

PhoenixWizard 06-03-2016 07:30 PM

Cruppies? Niomi has never heard of them before. She loved this class because of her deep love for animals. Each lesson she attends she loves them even more. There is so many creatures to discover.

After Professor Draper aloud us all to grab a crupper, Niomi studied hers. She loved him (was it a him?) already. She saw he (she will call it a he) had a name tag. "I wonder what your name is," she said, right before she looked. "Nicey," she read. Hmm, she hopes that means this cruppy is nice and not mean. Niomi continued to pet it and study Nicey until Professor Draper continued with the lesson.

oh its Erik ok 06-04-2016 12:09 AM

Like that was true. He just did not want the students to hate him. That was the real reason it was slightly warmer here. But sure Draper. Dante will believe what you said. Whatever. So they would be taking care of a crup today. Well better than flobberworms. Dante expectations were not high in any classes. Dante calmly got into line like he would run anywhere. Please. And waited his turn till he got his crup. He was not the animal person. His girlfriend was but he did not hate them or he would have dropped Draper's class.

"Your name is Dr. Doom. You will rule your own crup country one day"

Well technically his name was Victor Von Doom. But that was too long a name for a crup.

Time to teach the crup how to do this.

Grrr..Meow 06-04-2016 12:36 AM

Another messy class playing with dirt, great! Echo eyerolled and went over to get her crup. Holding out her hands she had to fight back the urge to throw the thing once it was in her hands but once the Professor had placed it there she didnt think it was that terrible, opening up her eyes she looked down at the collar, trying to figure out its name.

"Spike.....very intersting" who would name a crup Spike. shrugging she started to carefully move her hands around. "you arent so bad, im Echo" she had hoped that the other students were talking to their crups as well because she didnt want to come off as crazy.

littledhampir 06-04-2016 03:40 AM

Crups?! Crups! CRUPS! Olly jumped up from where he was sitting on the ground at the first sign of the crups. He was so excited! He loved crups. And this was a perfect time for a lesson on crup care, considering he had just adopted one and wanted to give him the best care possibly. He could barely contain his excitement but somehow managed to get into line and walk toward the pen without exploding. He beamed at the professor when he was handed a crup.

"I have a crup!" He declared. "I just adopted him!" Well it had been a couple of months ago now, right at the end of summer. But since he had been at school he hadn't been able to see him much. He couldn't until Christmas. He liked that there were all these crups for him to see and play with and love. He snuggled the one he had been handed and went to go find them a spot on the grass to sit.

"Hello buddy," he crooned. "You're so cute, what's your name?" He looked at the tag on the collar. "Well hello Henry. I'm going to take good care of you today." He wished he had some sort of toy so the crup could play. He looked eager to do something, but Olly didn't carry dog toys around with him. That would be weird.

It was nice to see Professor Draper in a better mood than usual, and on top of that they were going to be working with CRUPS. To say that Esme was happy was an understatement.

Practically squealing, she had to resist the temptation to rush over to the pen and snuggle them all. She was going to be calm and get one from the Professor when it was her turn. Right. She could be good. BUT CRUPS. So much more exciting than creatures like Flobberworms and they were adorable. Dogs were adorable.

"Hello, little guy," she cooed as she held her Crup. It was probably a good idea for her to know what the name was... and if it was a boy or a girl. Esme glanced at the collar. "Stacy." Okay. It was a girl then. "Hello, Stacy, I am going to look after you today and we are going to become the best of friends." As she talked she petted the cute little Crup.

Could she keep it?

MadMadamMalfoy 06-04-2016 06:00 AM

Fiyero waited patiently as the line inched closer to the pen. He'd heard of crups, but he'd never seen one up close before. They looked a lot like the jack russell terrier that belonged to the little old lady who lived across the street back home. Hmm... maybe the neighbor lady was secretly a witch.

"Thank you, Professor," Fiyero said politely as Professor Draper handed him a particularly hyper little crup. It squirmed a little in his arms, si he gave it a scratch behind the ear, just as he'd seen Professor Draper do earlier. There... that seemed to calm the crup down a bit.

;Hey, girl," he whispered, still stroking the cruppy's ear. Well, at least he assumed she was a girl... she was wearing a pink collar, after all. "What's your name?" He turned over the gold tag. "Glinda..." The cruppy's ears perked up at the sound of her name, and Fiyero suddenly had to stifle a laugh. Was that a joke? Pairing a crup named Glinda with a kid named Fiyero... his dad would get a huge kick out of that when he told him!

Fiyero sat on the bench next to the nearest tub, and Glinda snuggled into his lap, licking his free hand a few times as he continued to pet her. "Well, you're just full of sweetness, aren't you?" he said. He guessed that must be why her name was Glinda... it was rather fitting now that he thought about it.

Thatonepottergirl 06-04-2016 07:01 AM

Bethany was definitely happy. As soon as the word "crup" had come out of Professor Draper's mouth, her ears (as well as her mood might she add) had perked up. Who could resist adorable little cruppies after all?

She cooed at the cute, albeit jumpy, crup as it was placed in her arms and walked toward the closest tub station, turning its tag around eagerly, "Taffy?". How Cute! Clearly whoever had named this one was as much of a clever taffy lover as she was. She cooed once more at Taffy and stroked its fur back into place, cursing the cuteness of these things that turned her heart into mush, but secretly, or maybe it wasn't so secret with all the cooing she was doing, she couldn't wait for the rest of the lesson.

SilverTiger 06-04-2016 08:14 AM

Proper crup care. That was what they were doing in the lesson. Had Brooklyn not been relatively certain that there was no reason Professor Draper would be joking about that, she would have given him an incredulous look. That was almost insulting, really. It wasn’t like she actually had a crup, but she knew how to take care of her cat. That had to be almost the same thing. She wasn’t about to leave the lesson, though. She wasn’t half as excited as it seemed like nearly everyone else in the lesson was, but she’d give the professor the benefit of the doubt. There had to be a reason why they were stuck learning this. Maybe he was directing the lesson toward the firsties more than the rest of them. In any case, she’d suffer through it.

Joining the queue, she took the crup carefully into her arms as it was given to her, cradling it against her chest as she turned to head for an available tub. “Hmm,” she said quietly, glancing down as she felt it lick her chin. It was definitely cute, in a hyper wiggly way. Nowhere near how Tywin was when he was a kitten. It wasn’t like she had to adopt it. Just care for it in the lesson. The cuteness helped, however, and she settled the crup into her lap as she sat down next to the tub. What’s your name?, she thought, trailing her fingers around the collar until she found the tag. “Caramel,” she read out loud, softly, scratching the crup between its ears as it had turned to look up at her.

DuckyLinJi 06-04-2016 10:01 AM

Cruppies cruppies cruppies! Did anyone see the cruppies?! Was the Professor REALLY let them HAVE the cruppies?!

She did hear they had to walk to the pen calmly but Bec looked like she was going to explode soon because she wanted to squeal so loudly at this situation. CRUPPIES! She looked at the creatures with her hand over her mouth to keep silent as they bounced around and jumped over each other. Her eyes seemed to sparkle though.

In short, Bec was excited for this lesson.

As she waited in line behind a random student whom she didn’t know, the Gryffindor positively BEAMED at the Professor as she was handed a cruppy when it was her turn. She held the creature in her hands and staggered to another place for herself cause this one was a little bigger than she had thought.

Sitting down on the ground, the eleven year old checked the name tag that the cruppy was wearing. “Ace?” the cruppy lifted its head up and licked her face. “Eww!” she wiped her face with the sleeve of her uniform but she was smiling.

“Can we keep them Professor Draper? pretty please?”

Goblinfrog 06-04-2016 02:28 PM

"CRUPIES!" Kitty squealed with joy, jumping up from her sitting position on the grass and trying to get ahead in the line. She beamed with delight as the Professor handed her a crup. "Thank you Professor!" Her crup was excitable, wriggling in her hands and flaying his paws around. She ran her fingers across his adorable little color and read his name. "Tickles! What a cute name." Kitty gently ruffled Tickle's fur, amazed at how soft it was. Tickles licked her hand affectionately.

Looks like Hads wasn't the only one super excited about the Crups. Giving the boy a small laugh, Hadley followed Tenacius up to Drapes and the line. She was grinning like an idiot by the time she reached the man; her sour mood was long gone by this point.

"Thank you," Hads said, gently receiving the puppy-like critter. "Professor Draper." See what happens when you do awesome things like this Drapes? Keep it up. By now though, her entire attention span was consumed by the adorable fluffball in her arms. "Hi," she beamed and carried him away the grumpy man and line.

Hadley sat down at the first open tub station and gave her crup a scratch behind the ears. "Hello...Dorian?" Interesting name. "Hello Dorian. I'm Hadley. And you're adorable. Yes you are."

“Can we keep them Professor Draper? pretty please?”

In all honesty, crup care was probably an incredibly easy way to have this lesson. It wasn't anything monumentally difficult, but it was a fun way to teach the needed material. And given the fact that so many students seemed to be down in the dumps lately, he decided something light and enjoyable was the way to go. So he cared a little bit... Sue him. As he handed Ms. Meadows her little one, he considered the question with a small grin forming on his face. SMALL. "We'll be discussing this at the end of the lesson." He knew someone would ask eventually.

**********

For once it had appeared that James had done something to please almost everyone. Never thought he'd see the day.

And with that, James handed off the last of the cruppies and made his way back towards the center to get everyone's attention once again. "If you look into each tub, you'll see all the supplies we'll be requiring for today's lesson." He had gone through and made sure each one had all the necessities right before class. "But first, let's start with a brush."

Thank Merlin this stuff was simple. "These crups shed, so it's important to brush them once a week to make sure all dead hair is removed." Make sense? They only shed a little, but nevertheless this was highly important. "Go ahead and give them a brush," he watched, waiting for everyone to pick theirs up and go for it. They knew well enough to be gentle, yeah? Though they didn't look like babies, these ones were still quite young.

"And Fifth Years, I'd suggest you pay very close attention to your crup. I can guarantee this will come up on your OWLs," it was almost a fact crups were amongst those creatures that came up most often on the test.

OOC: Sorry for keeping things slow! I should be posting in another 18+ hours to move us!

This is a really easy lesson to hop into (and even play catch up with), so feel free to join at any point!

Grrr..Meow 06-04-2016 05:27 PM

now they are supposed to be grooming them, her spike.

and WHAAA----- Echo was wide awake now! this was going to be on her OWL's! okay okay, dont panic Echo you can stay awake and pay attention.

"right brush them once a week" she wished that she grabbed her quill and parchment on the way down, she had hoped that a few of her friends were writting this down for her so she didnt have to remember it all by hear.

Bringing Spike closer to her she gave him a warning. "im going to brush you, dont bite me.. its not going to hurt" well she hoped that it wasnt going to hurt him.

Showing the little crup the brush she started with his back, with slow soft strokes. "see its okay" she said while moving around the body, then her Crup started to make noises once she got to the belly. "ahahah, mines ticklish." she stopped brushing the belly and continued on Spikes back.

"there you go, no more tickles" this little crup was starting to pull on her heart strings.

MunchyBubbles 06-04-2016 05:55 PM

Azura was still trying not to cry as she snuggled her cruppie. For it to have her mothers name.. Perhaps it was a sign that her mom was still here... Watching over her. A soft sort of cry slid from her lips but she contained it and started to gently pet her crup..

She looked up at the Professor as he spoke about brushing the crup and she leaned over the tub and rooted around in it. And found the brush.

"All right little girl, lets brush you okay?" She said as she gently started to brush the wiggly little thing! "Hey now! Calm down a little! " she said with a soft giggle as the crup started to lick her face. She sent a grateful glance up to Professor Draper, this is exactly what she needed! Especially now.

Fiyero looked up as Professor Draper started speaking - so did Glinda. They were supposed to brush the cruppies? Okay, that sounded simple enough. He just hoped Glinda wouldn't hate having her fur brushed as much as his mother's cat did and bite him every time he came near her with the brush.

"Will you let me brush your hair, please?" he said, picking up the brush. The little cruppy's esrs perked up. He guessed that meant she liked the idea.

Fiyero started to brush Glinda's back, but her head whipped around suddenly. Uh oh... was he hurting her? Had he pulled too hard? He didn't hear any whimpering or yelping... Glinda nuzzled into his hand, nearly causing him to drop the brush. Oh, so that's what it was! This little girly-girl just really liked being brushed.

Trying to brush Glinda with her constantly nuzzling and licking him was proving to be a bit more difficult than Fiyero originally thought. As cute as her displays of affection were, he needed her to hold still! When he finally finished, Glinda jumped up, placing her front paws on his chest. He could see in her eyes what she was about to do. "No, not the face!" he begged. "Please... anywhere but the face!" But Glinda wasn't listening and gave him a big wet cruppy kiss on the cheek.

Beth set Taffy down into her lap and rummaged around her bag to find a quill and parchment, she really should be writing all of this down for the upcoming OWLs and it wasn't helping that her school bag was a mess of papers and spilled ink stains, obviously she'd have to invest in a new bag the next time she was in Hogsmeade since her stubbornness hadn't allowed her buy a new one when she was initially shopping for supplies in Diagon Alley.

Aha! She pulled the wrinkled parchment (she swore to Merlin she would organise her bag later) out, along with her quill and wrote down the first step.

Caring For Crups
1. Brush fur at least once a week

Well that was easy enough, she would ace her OWLs...hopefully. Now to really do it, she picked the brush out of the tub and looked at Taffy, who's gaze was switching between her and the brush in her hand. "Time to remove all this dead fur!" She told Taffy, and began to gently brush through all the dead hairs. Beth's heart practically melted when the little crup started to purr as soon as the brush touched its head, he nuzzled her hand and really she was quickly becoming attached to the little cutie.

Niomi's ear really turned on when Professor Draper said this would be on the O.W.L.S. She really needed to pay attention so she can do good on the care of magical creatures O.W.L.

Okay, next step, cruppies need to be brushed one a week. Niomi got the brush out. She didn't start brushing Nicey until she thought it was okay. Niomi gently continued to pet the cruppy until it seemed calm and comfortable. Slowly, Niomi started brushing Nicey. If she started to act uncomfortable, Niomi would stop for a second. She didn't want Nicey getting upset with her. Niomi would like to keep this lesson good. She didn't want there to be a problem between her and her cruppy. Niomi continued to brush Nicey, until further notice. In the mean time, Niomi noticed a lot of dead hair being brushed away already. She was surprised at how much hair there was. Not even Mittens, Niomi's cat, lost this much dead hair.

PROFESSOR AMAZING SAY WHAT NOW?

Puppies on his OWLs. PUPPIES ON HIS OWLs. THIS WAS NOT A DRILL, HE GOT PUPPIES ON HIS OWLs. Starry-eyed, Brian coooooooed down at the bundle of fur in his arms. "They're gonna grade me on taking care'f you -" Oh dear, he hadn't checked the name of this cruppy. "Woofgang Amadeus Mozart." That was a clever name. More heart eyes. MUSIC PUNS, YES. HE WAS ALL ABOUT THOSE MUSIC PUNS. Up in 'em, livin' em like PAGANINI.

Tickling the cruppy's belly, he grinned. Class hadn't been this cool in AGES. "I'm going t'brush you, 'right? Try not to squirm." And picking up a brush, he started brush brush brushing. With all the tender love and care he brushed fanged geranium teeth with. ALL THE TLC. Was he singing Shostakovich at the crup puppy as he did? YES HE WAS. All the Shosty.

He was interrupted every few seconds with a lick to the face, but otherwise MORE SINGING.

Lissy Longbottom 06-04-2016 10:13 PM

OMG STOP. They were going to get to play with CRUPPIES?! Scarlett didn't care what they did with the cute pups, as long as they got to PLAY WITH THEM! She'd even do potty pick up duty. She did NOT care now that she knew what creatures were the main topic of this lesson.

When it was finally her turn, she took her cruppy in her arms and held her close (at least, she thought it was a her...yup, it was a her) and checked her name on her collar. Clover? AWWWW HOW CUTE! "Hi Clover! I'm Scarlett, your new friend," she told her with a grin. The cruppy responded with a lick on Scarlett's nose, and she was totally smitten.

Could they adopt these crups after the lesson???

littledhampir 06-04-2016 11:04 PM

Brush every week, got it. He would have to be very careful to remember everything from this lesson so he could care for his own crup. Brushing was simple enough. Olly looked into the tub next to him and found the brush. "Ready boy?" He asked the crup. Henry gave a little wag of his tail which seemed like a good sign to Olly. He grinned and began brushing. There was a lot of hair that came off, and Olly made sure to turn so the hair would go downwind and not directly onto him. Maybe when this lesson was over he'd have to go borrow Flamsteed's lint roller.

Continuing to coo at her little cruppy puppy, Esme snuggled into her. If all Care of Magical Creatures lessons were like this she would NOT complain. Too bad that couldn't do Baby Unicorn 101 because it wouldn't go over so well for the boys. Whatever though because she was SNUGGLING A LITTLE FLUFF BALL.

"Okay, time to give you a nice brushing!" she said as she patted Stacy's head gently. Fortunately Esme knew how to brush a dog's fur because of Lucy. It was important to be gentle because otherwise she might hurt the poor animal. It would be the same thing as if someone brushed her hair and yanked and tugged hard at it; plain rude and inconsiderate. It was a good thing that she took care of her own hair. Gently she began to give Stacy's coat a thorough brushing. Even though she hadn't shed a lot it was making a world of difference. She made sure that all of the fur ended up on the ground as opposed to clinging to the little crup.

Kimothy 06-05-2016 07:44 AM

While she was waiting for the rest of the students to receive their cruppies, Vivian was having waaaay too much fun with hers. She got all kinds of crup appreciation, from snuggles to licks. The little blonde girl giggled at all these gestures. However, it sure made her miss her lovely Prancer at home. Prancer wasn't a crup, but Vivian loved him to bits... just like she was enjoying the company of cruppy Pepito.

Once everyone was done, Vivi stroked the cruppy's hair. "Alright, alright. I enjoy your love but I have to listen to Professor Draper," she said to him, then leaned forward towards his ear to whisper. "And also, I don't wanna lose house points, okay? Good Pepito." Merlin, Pepito was such a hyper little doggy! Not that the Slytherin complained about it. She'd rather have an active one than a shy one, to match her own personality too. She kept petting the cruppy while paying attention to the Professor.

Ah, so they were going to care for the CRUP. The tub stations weren't for human use, but for cruppy bathing purposes!. OH LOL. Vivian blushed a bit and did a peace sign at Professor Draper. Sorry. Silly her! Anyway, the Slytherin did double check the supplies inside her tub. Nothing missing, as far as she knew. But now, it was cruppy brushing time!

"You have really nice fur, Pepito, did you know?" Vivian said as she stroked and brushed the cruppy, the dead hair falling off. Yeah, she was just going to make sure none of them fell on her clothes.

Brush brush brush... and cruppy wiggles and tail wags, of course!

Kolyander 06-05-2016 12:30 PM

This little cruppie was a wiggly bundle of joy in her arms. Any left of sadness or anger that she might have been holding bottled up inside her was gone. A small wet nose nudging itself into the palm of her hand whenever she would stop petting the crup for even a fraction of a second. This alone was enough to make the teen laugh softly and continue with the petting her attention only being pulled from her newest friend when Draper began to talk once more.

Brushing. Once a week. Got it. She already knew this. It never hurt to be reminded though which is why Hady made sure to pay close attention to what was being said. "Alright Sammie, it sounds like you're in need of a good brushing," she told the cruppie baby giving it him a gentle scratch behind the ears. Rising to her feet carefully from her seat on the bench she walked over to the least crowded of the large tub stations. Sitting down on the ground she cradled Sammie in her lap.

"Okay so it's really simple. I'm just going to brush your fur and remove all the unneeded old fur so your coat stays nice and healthy. Not only will it make you look even cuter as if that's even possible...buuuutttt it'll make you feel better too." Yup she was talking to the crup and telling it what she was going to do. Nothing at all unusual with that. In fact it was very normal and a lot of people did this.

Reaching into the tub she felt around for a brush finally closing her hand around one and pulling it out. Starting at the top of Sammie's head she worked her way downwards. Slowly and very gently brushing his fur all the while continuing to talk softly to him about random things like her summer, her new siblings and family, lessons, her music or whatever else came to her mind. Small yips and playful licks to her hand were giving letting the Slytherin now she was doing it right.

Crups shed. Use the brush. Yup Tenacius knew that for a fact. Early education courtesy of the family crup Maple hehehe.

He picked up the brush and started going over the little cruppie's body with short gentle strokes "We still havent picked a name for you boy." he spoke to the little furball which he was trying to keep still. Apparently this crup doesn’t like being brushed much, and kept trying to either wiggle its way away or take out the brush itself "Calm down boy quit moving...." he said trying to sooth the two-tailed tyke, but the little cruppy just kept trying to dodge each stroke, take out the brush or trying to jump onto him. And barking! Oh boy this is one vocal crup "Shhh ok boy I hear ya I hear ya.. Yeah yeah totally agree arf arf bow wow...." he was talking to the crup. And if you’ve ever been a pet owner, you know there was nothing unusual about this.

But epiphany! "Hey boy, how'd you like the name Bowie? Yeah? Sounds good?" And moarrr barking and tail wagging. Alright cruppie approved!

Though James was treating this lesson as if the most important bit was learning how to take care of the crups, it was really about the indirect learning they did by observing the creatures' mannerisms and behaviors. See there was a trick here. Of course lecturing could have taught them the same material, but at least this way they were doing the shelter a favor too. And no one had complained yet.

It was interesting to see how each student approached the task. It all depended on the crup too as it seemed some were much more energetic than others. This was normal. "Alright, now if you look at your supplies, you should find a toothbrush.... And some paste," yes there was specialty cruppy toothpaste. That stuff existed. "Just like us, it's important that these cruppies get their teeth taken care of." He walked around, weaving through the various stations set up on the ground.

"You should apply a pea-sized bead of the paste onto the brush. And gently hold your crup's mouth open just wide enough for the toothbrush. Brush along their gums and then move down, but it's easer to work your way from the back of their mouths to the front," he paused to make sure they were getting all of this. "Rinse with some water as you go." Aguamenti, the younger students knew that one by now yeah?

Oh and, "This may be difficult as the crups haven't become accustomed to it yet," but what's fun without a little bit of challenge?

OOC: Either 2 posts or 1 detailed post for this task. I'll be posting again in 18+ hours to move us forward

WE have to brush their teeth now, she had completely forgotten to do that herself this morning because of the early class, she threw on her robes and booked it out of the common room.

Spike already did such a good job with her brushing him now she hoped he would be as good with her brushing his teeth.

Laying the crup on her lap with his belly facing up Echo grabbed the tiny tooth brush and tooth paste. Then she wiggled to take out her wand out of her pocket to use it for water, because water was no where to be seen. "this ones going to be a little more uncomfortable" please dont bite me!!! PLEASE!!!!

"im going to get everything ready" taking the tooth paste she put a very small pea sized amount on its tip with getting her wand and saying "Aguamenti" she put the tooth brush under the stream to get it wet. Once it had enough Echo said "Finite" to end the stream.

"okay Spike im going to hold your mouth open okay?" did they not get like full on metal gloves, she would be more comfortable doing this with some metal gloves. Reaching her hand down slowly she used her left hand to keep Spikes mouth open.

As soon as her fingers were in reach instead of biting her it instantly started to lick her fingers, "well its way better than biting" she was speaking alot to her crup friend. "this might not taste as good" the brush was now in the back of the little creatures mouth, doing as instructed working on the gums and then working her way down. Echo could tell that Spike did not like the taste of the tooth paste. "i know its not yummy" brushing the full left side she took out her wand and got some water for him to wash out his mouth. Echo picked him up so he could face the ground to let the tooth paste and the water fall from his mouth.

Placing him back on his belly on her legs she repeated the same thing for the right side of his mouth and the front. "your doing so good" she said, but she was just about to finish the front when Spike sneezed so hard where the tooth paste spat all over Echo's face. "ewwwwwww" she said while getting her free hands robe sleeve to clean off her face.

"i think thats enough for your teeth today" she rinsed his mouth out one more last time and let him rest on her legs, with his back facing her this time. She started to pet it with her thumb to get it to relax. All in all Spike let her do her thing.

Brushing our cuty and post 1 of brushing his teeth

Kitty examined the brush before using it on Tickles. She had accumulated quite a collection of combs and brushes back home, and was always comparing other brushes and combs to her own. "This is a good brush Tickles, you'll like it." Smiling, she began to gently brush Tickle's fur.

Next came brushing his teeth. This looked like it could be a challenge. "Don't worry Tickles, I'll be gentle," she said, stroking Tickles with her left hand as she applied toothpaste (it had an interesting smell) on the toothbrush and raised it to Tickle's mouth.

Major catch up-Getting a crup and brushing him

Class was beginning and Janelle was almost bursting with excitement. They were going to get to play with crups today! This was going to be sooooo cool. Go over and get your crups. Janelle didn't have to be told twice. She was up on it in a flash. Quickly and not very calmly, she joined the line of students waiting to get their pets for the day.

Fifth years were supposed to be cool, yeah? Well Janelle was about to lose all of her fifth year cool points because she found it hard to contain herself. She wanted a cruppie. Gimme, gimme. At last, her wait was over. She reached the front of the line. Arms out, she carefully accepted the crup that the professor handed to her. "Thank you professor", Janelle said, as she gently began to stroke the crup's fur. She found a good spot near a tub station and sat down with her special parcel.

Placing her new friend next to her on the grass, Janelle continued to pet him. "Hi little buddy, I'm Janelle and we're going to be really good friends." Noticing the collar around his neck, she took a peek at his tag. "What's your name, huh? Mikey. Well hello there Mikey." Janelle was just thinking how how cute Mikey was when she got a lick on her hand. "Awwwww, I like you too." Her crup was just a ball of energy. He was in constant motion whenever Janelle stopped petting him. If she wanted to keep him still, she'd have to keep up the physical contact. She placed Mikey in her lap and made him comfortable. Just then they got the next set of instructions from Professor Draper.

Janelle looked into the wash tub and noticed all of the supplies inside. First task, brushing the crups. Hopefully they would have time to play later, but for now, she had a job to do. Janelle thought it best to prepare her crup for what was coming. She grabbed the brush from the tub and showed it to Mikey. "I'm going to brush you now. Don't be afraid, I won't hurt you. I just need to get all of the knots and loose hairs out and you'll be nice and pretty." Before using the brush, Janelle used her hand to mimic the act of brushing. She was going to ease her way into the whole process. Mikey didn't seem to mind so far, so Janelle figured it was time to introduce the brush.

While speaking softly to her crup, Janelle began to brush him........very gently. Mikey was being very cooperative and Janelle was pleased. "You are such a good boy. I'm so lucky I got you for a partner today." Janelle patted him on his head and kept brushing. Clearly crups did a lot of shedding because there was quite a bit of hair in the brush already. Then Professor Draper mentioned OWL's. Ughhh. Did he have to go there? "Well Mikey", Janelle said. "I guess you're going to help me pass my OWL's.". At least this was a fun way to get some learning in.

CRUPS WERE THE CUTEST! Kaycee absolutely loved this lesson. Look at all the cute! Ugh. It made her miss her own dog though.

"Hello there pretty Lady." she said petting the crup she was given. "Yes, you are just a cute little thing." she cooed. Puppies were fun. You just speak to them in baby speak and they absolutely went crazy.

So, first things first. The brush. Having her own dog, one that actually had wayyy more fur, she was familiar with the technique. She carefully brushed out her crups hair using a bit of a brush then pet then gently removing the excess fur technique.

N'aww. Cutie.

Now what was next? Brushing teeth...? That's something she'd never done before. Her dog just had those dental stick chew things. But, oh well, she could do this.

She carefully squeezed out a bit of toothpaste. Okay cruppie. "I'm going to brush your teeth now." she explained. She gently pulled down on the bit of skin covering the mouth at the back. Once the teeth were exposed, she began gently brushing, from the back teeth forward, moving the toothbrush in small circular motions. This was a little strange, but she'd accept it. And so far the crup hadn't tried to bite her, so that was good.

Azura looked up at Professor Draper as he gave them their next set of instructions! They had to brush their cruppies teeth? Oh goodness! Azura gave her crup one last little brush before she set the brush down and then dug around in the tub for the toothbrush and toothpaste! She emerged with them in her hands and gently petted Piper. "All right girl.. We need to brush your teeth." She said softly as she held onto the wiggling crup!

"Okay! I get you are excited! Just calm down a little!" She giggled as the crup attempted to climb her and lick her cheek. She petted it's head as she attempted to her her wand out! "Okay!! Just chill! " she laughed as she finally got the tiny crup to calm down just a little..

"There we go! Now.. Let's put this toothpaste on the tooth brush, just like the professor said! " Azura was gently talking to the crup, walking her through what she was doing so she didn't get scared!

She carefully squeezed a pea size shape of toothpaste onto the toothbrush, somewhat one handed..

Question for the Professor

She was a little sleepy again after eating such a big breakfast, but she had somewhere to be! She knew she wouldn't be able to pay attention on an empty stomach... It just never worked out. She felt her eye twitch as she got to class and found an open station. She wondered what kind of animal they would be observing today, but she didn't think they'd each get their own. Niffler maybe? No, that didn't make sense.

Okay... crups? Yea... Today was a good day. A small smile crossed Kye's face. She had loved playing with her cousin's crup when she visited them. Her parents didn't let her get one, but hey! Her professor would! Could they keep them? If he said no, she half planned to pocket hers... She wondered how she would keep it a secret from her roommates though..

Following suit, she got up and went to get a cruppy from the professor. It looked a bit shy and curious, kind of like a cat... Well, it was pretty small, maybe it was just extra wary by nature? This thing was adorable, she almost couldn't stand it. It's little blue eyes looking up at her innocently... She took it from the professor and went back to the station. She sat down cross legged and kept holding the little thing. She started talking to it and scratching behind its ears. It... 'It.' She realized it was a little boy named Levi. Ha. Because of the eyes right? That made sense... and was downright adorable.

"Hi Levi, how are you?" she cooed. She was normally really quiet, but she loved this. "I'm Kye and I get to take care of you, little thing."

He seemed to become more trusting. Her soft voice seemed to sooth any nerves the little thing was having and he lightened up. He let out a little bark ("aww...") and after another minute of cooing, Levi gave Kye a few kisses. Now Kye's smile was back. At the professor's next instruction, Kye picked up a brush and while still petting Levi, she started to brush him on the back. She figured the transition would help ease into it? He didn't even seem to notice the difference... She started brushing different sections to make sure he was still okay with it, and she did pretty well! There were a few knots in her hair, but Levi was a trooper. After she started brushing his head, he seemed to start enjoying it even. Good because if you live with me, this is how I'm picking up excess fur, so... you really have no choice!

Hmm... brush his teeth, huh? Now this was new to Kye. Sure, she brushed her own teeth, but she could only hope she had enough trust from Levi to be allowed to dig in its mouth. She put the paste on the toothbrush and held it near Levi's face, trying to get him to stop looking around. This proved a little difficult. "Levi... Leeeviiii. Levi." He didn't seem to be as in love with getting his teeth brushed. He would move his head about and try to get her to brush his hair instead.

"Ay, you little diva... Professor? Is there a way to distract him a bit, or is there a way to get him to be less fidgety when I brush his teeth?"

You know, this was probably the first time she had actually spoke up in class, but she was really into it. She was seriously thinking about pocketing Levi and sneaking him back up to the castle with her.

Post 2.

With the toothpaste on the toothbrush in her right hand, and Tickles squirming peacefully in her left, Kitty gently started brushing his teeth. At first he squirmed, causing Kitty to miss and get a little on his chin. "Oops!" Digging in her purse, Kitty removed a small tissue and wiped his chin gingerly. Then she went back to brushing his teeth.

"I think your teeth are clean, don't you?" She took her small hand mirror from her purse and put it in front of him so he could see himself. Tickles responded by nudging the mirror with his nose. Kitty giggled and pocketed the mirror.

Janelle and Mikey were busy bonding when Professor Draper told the class what they would be doing next. Brushing teeth? Janelle had not expected that. When she'd peeked in the supply bucket, she had missed those two things. She was a little unsure about this next task. How was Mikey going to feel about having his teeth brushed? How was she going to keep him still?

Stroking the crups head, she said, "Mikey, I'm going to need you to work with me here. I'm going to brush your teeth now." Of course he would have no idea what that meant. Janelle reached into the tub and got the toothbrush and toothpaste. Holding the toothbrush in her hand, she looked at Mikey. "Watch Mikey. This is how it works.". Then Janelle held the brush near her teeth and moved it up and down mimicking the tooth brushing motion. "Now I'll need to keep your mouth open. I'm going to make your teeth nice and clean." Whether Mikey understood her or not, Janelle did not know. The little crup looked at her while she spoke, as if he was listening to every word. He then gave Janelle a lick on the face. She couldn't help but giggle. She was loving this crup already.

Ok, it was the moment of truth. Janelle kept Mikey in her lap and told him, "Stay still now". She tried to move quickly, but efficiently. There was no telling how long she could keep her buddy in place. Taking out her wand, Janelle pointed it at the toothbrush and said, "Aguamenti". She let it just dampen the brush and then said, "Finite". Then she took a moment to pat Mikey, just to keep him happy. Opening the tube of toothpaste, Janelle squeezed out the required pea sized amount onto the toothbrush. Finally, she placed the cap back onto the tube. It had not escaped Janelle's notice, that Mikey seemed to be watching her every move. She didn't know whether that was good or bad, but she chose to go with good. Already determining that her crup was smart, she figured that he was just satisfying his curiosity.

"Ok Mikey, I need you to open up." Janelle opened her moth to demonstrate. Why did it seem like the crup was laughing at her? If crups could laugh, that is. Janelle knew better than to appear afraid of the task at hand. Surely Mikey would be able to sense her fear. So she faked confidence that she didn't really have and got to work. Carefully, she opened Mikey's mouth a little wider and held it just so. First she brushed along his gums. Then she placed the toothbrush on his back teeth and began to move it in a downward motion for the upper teeth and an upward motion for the lower teeth. Janelle made sure to get both the inside and outside surfaces. Then she addressed the rear teeth on the opposite side. Removing the toothbrush, Janelle directed her wand toward the toothpastey teeth and rinsed them with Aguamenti.

"You are being such a good boy", she said with relief. Janelle may have spoken too soon because when she aimed the brush at the next set of teeth, Mikey decided to lick the toothpaste off of it. "Mikey, the toothpaste is not for eating......you're not supposed to swallow it." Hopefully swallowing a little would not hurt him. Adding a pinch more toothpaste to the brush, Janelle began to quickly brush around the side teeth.......to the front teeth.......and back to the other side. She rinsed his mouth again and let him close it for a moment of rest. "Ok buddy, just a little bit more. Almost finished." Janelle opened Mikey's mouth once more and repeated the process on the inside of the remaining teeth. "Aguamenti", she said for the last time and made sure that his mouth was properly rinsed. Apparently Mikey was thirsty because he then tried to get a drink of water from Janelle's wand. After letting him get a sip, she ended the spell. "There. All clean. You were awesome Mikey." Janelle gave the crup a big hug and a head pat. She got another lick in return. Now what would they be doing next? A bath perhaps?

The cruppy in Dot's lap was a wiggly little mess with legs and tail slipping constantly off her legs. He was a cute little guy, especially when he nosed against her hand and licked her. Like they were best friends already.

"Rex, pay attention." It was sort of an obvious dog name, but it also meant KING, so it was fitting. Dot kept trying to snag his little snout so she could finish brushing his coat and move on to the tooth brushing, but he was more interested in trying to lick her or escape or BOTH at the same time.

Finally, Dot caught him with one arm and finished the last few strokes with the brush. "Good boy." He got a kiss on his now smooth head, and Dot was able to move on to brushing his teeth. Just a dab of toothpaste and then the big fight began. Rex was NOT into having his teeth cleaned, and the poor little crup kept drooling away the toothpaste onto her robes.

That... was pretty gross.

Glinda was still licking Fiyero's cheek when Professor Draper started speaking again. He tried to tilt his head out of her reach and peer around her, but that worked for all of five seconds. He shook his head with a small chuckle. "Okay, that's enough!" he said; his word had absolutely no effect. "Get down!"

He had to physically pry the cruppy off him and set her down on the bench. She immediately jumped back into his lap, barking loudly in protest. "Shh, girl!" he scolded. "I can't hear Professor Draper..." He gave Glinda a little pat on the head as she snuggled into his lap. Well, that calmed her down... she must've just wanted attention.

So they were going to brush their teeth next... oookay. Fiyero wasn't sure how he felt about that. He was a little unnerved when Professor Draper said the crups weren't used to having their teeth brushed, but he wasn't one to back gown from a challenge. Who knows, maybe Glinda would like having her teeth brushed as much as she liked having her hair brushed.

He picked up the toothbrush and let Glinda sniff it for a few seconds. She tilted her head to one side, looking up at him inquisitively. "That's a toothbrush," he told her. He had no idea why; she wouldn't understand. "I'm going to use it to brush your teeth, okay?" Glinda blinked a couple of times,; Fiyero took that as a yes as he squeezed a little bit of toothpaste onto the brush.

He tried to hold the cruppy's mouth open, but as soon as he touched her, she growled, snapping at his fingers. "Ow!" he exclaimed, quickly moving his hand. "Hey, that was mean!" Had he hurt her? He thought he was being gentle... this was going to be a lot harder than he thought! Glinda gave an apologetic little whimper as she snuggled into his chest, licking the fingers she'd just nipped at. "It's okay, I know you're sorry," he said.

After a a few minutes of petting, Glinda calmed down a bit, and Fiyero decided it was safe to try again. This time, she didn't bite him when he got near her mouth, but she did squirm. Fiyero laughed. "You know, you sorta remind me of my baby brother," he said to the little crup. "He doesn't like having his teeth brushed either." Glinda stopped wriggling in his arms at the sound of his voice, and he realized talking to her provided a distraction. Duh, why didn't he think of that before?!

Glinda made a little gagging noise as the brush touched her back teeth. "I know, toothpaste tastes gross!" Fiyero whispered as he moved the brush. "Good girl, Glinda... good cruppy. You're behaving so well..." He'd finally finished with the left side of her mouth and raised his wand. He hoped this spell wouldn't rebound like it had in The Great Charms Challenge; somehow he didn't think Professor Draper would take too kindly to him accidentally drowning one of the crups.

"Aguamenti," he said, gingerly waving his wand. He was prepared to react to a strong jet of water, but to his relief, he didn't have to. So far so good... now if he could just keep this up he'd be done in no time! He half-expected Glinda to squirm or bite as he moved to the other side of her mouth, but she let him continue with his work. She must be getting used to the brush now. "I know you don't like having your teeth brushed, but it'll be over soon..." He rinsed her mouth again before moving on to the last few teeth in the front. "Almost done... just a few more teeth to go."

"There, that wasn't so bad, was it?" Fiyero said after he'd finished rinsing out Glinda's mouth for the last time. The cruppy replied by jumping up and licking his face again. The thought crossed his mind to put her down, but he let her keep licking him as a reward for being so patient with him.

Azura slowly started to open her crups mouth gently with her fingers, just enough to get the toothbrush in there.. Piper was thankfully not wiggling too much.. "This won't be bad at all, I promise.. All right?" She cooed softly to the Crup as she bit her lip a little and slowly moved the toothbrush around the crups mouth..

She started at the back just like the Professor had said and started at the gums and ever so gently moved the brush back and forth.. This.. wasn't too fun.. and her Crup was whining a bit.. But Azura was very gently and kept cooing and making soothing sounds to her little animal.

Finally, she was done and after using Aquamenti to rinse out her crups mouth, she let the wiggling thing down and she smiled as it moved around her..

"See, that wasn't so bad at all was it?" She said as she grinned.

Taffy was still nuzzling her hand when Professor Draper gave them the next set of instructions. Brush the crup's teeth? That shouldn't be too difficult. She jotted it down quickly on her note paper for future reference, grabbed the little gold-coloured toothbrush, and turned back toward Taffy. He stopped nuzzling her and instead backed away, standing further away from her than he had the entire lesson. Bethany didn't really know what to think. Was he scared? She pet his head a bit, hoping it would calm him down enough for her to actually get a bit of toothpaste onto the brush. "Calm down Taffy, I promise this doesn't hurt." She said, scratching behind his ears. It seemed to have worked a bit and the little crup had let his guard down. She picked him up gently as to not startle the poor thing more than he already was, and placed him onto his back.

Now for the toothpaste.

She picked the brush back up and quickly applied the toothpaste, she didn't have much time before Taffy would start to get restless again. Using her left hand she slowly opened the crup's mouth, while the right inched toward his teeth with the brush, please don't bite me, please don't bite me, please don't bite me . As soon as his mouth was open wide enough, Bethany put the brush to the back of his mouth and began brushing. She noticed the crup was beginning to squirm around, "Shh Taffy, it's okay, I promise this is for your own good...and for the health of your teeth." Nobody wants unhealthy teeth. When she had finished brushing Taffy's gums and teeth thoroughly she left out a sigh of relief. Regardless of her slightly damp robes and the streak of toothpaste on her cheek she patted Taffy's head, "See, that wasn't too hard buddy."

The brushing part of this cruppy care lesson wasn't even the hard part of it. Vivian had gotten used to this, since she did the same with her Aunt and Uncle's dog, Prancer, at home. However, Pepito was such a very energetic ball of fur and was enjoying all this a little bit too much. The blonde struggled a little bit, trying to let the cruppy sit still or something. But, you know, Vivi remained positive. It's not like she'd down this before. Once she was able to get the hang of it, Pepito did calm down. Although Vivi did try to avoid the wagging forked tail. Not that she was scared of it, but it was a little bit too early to be getting wounded in the morning.

Once that was done, Vivian patted Pepito in the head. "Good job, boy. You're such an angel," she said. She received cruppy licks for that, and giggled at all this loving gestures. It sure did make her miss Prancer a lot. They will be reunited soon though! She could feel it, and she was hanging on to that string of hope.

So they weren't just going to brush the crup's fur? Even their teeth! Well, that must've been normal, really. Teeth care was part of proper hygiene, yeah? Though Vivi couldn't resist it. A small smile grew on her face. Seriously, it was kinda funny and cute. She looked down at the tub again, and retrieved the tooth brush that Professor Draper was referring to. It looked like a normal tooth brush, to be honest. Like the one she normally used for her own pearly whites. Then she took the tube of paste and squinted at it. Specifically used for cruppy care. Well, that made sense. Vivian wouldn't personally allow anyone else use her own tooth paste, much more a creature. Oh, well.

"Pepito, this is a tooth brush and paste," Vivian said as she showed the two to the bouncy cruppy. The cruppy tilted its head at her with that. Did he not know what it was? "First time, huh? I'm going to use them to clean your chompers! So that they'll be healthy! Yay!" Oh please. She was such a natural at all this creature care. The Slytherin placed a small amount of paste on the brush, then looked at it. LOL. That was too small. She added a little more, to make sure that it was roughly the size of a pea. It looked good enough for her now. All was good.

Vivian looked back at Pepito. So it was brushing time, then! "Since you're such a good boy, you deserve to have shiny teeth! Please follow me! Can you grin like this, Pepito?" The first year GRINNED so wide in front of the cruppy, but it did not follow. All it did was chase its forked tail. BLINK BLINK. Guess she had to manually do it herself, then. She wasn't going to complain. She was patient! Vivi took her wand out and dampened the paste using a quick "Aguamenti!" before she proceeded to hold Pepito's mouth into a wide grin. "Awww! You look good! Keep grinning, okay?" Vivi kept her grin too, so that Pepito didn't feel awkwardly grinning alone, then she brushed the cruppy's teeth, starting from the back then moving up front, just like the Professor said. And, yes, more avoiding of the wagging forked tail in the process too. The teeth brushing was also accompanied by a lot of toothpaste and cruppy drool. A sticky, bubbly, and sort of slippery mixture, but Vivi tried not to pay attention to that despite how gross it looked.

"There you go! See? Pearly white and healthy teeth!" Vivian said, contented with her work. She rinsed all the drool and toothpaste bubbles with another "Aguamenti!" Vivi received yet another round of cruppy love and affection, face licks and snuggles. The blonde scratched the back of Pepito's ear. Such a good cruppy! <3

Giggling, Esme watched as Stacy started trying to nip at her fingers while her fur was being brushed. It looked like someone had about enough of this even though there was a bit to go. "I'll be done soon," she said reassuringly as she continued to work away with the brush. There was quite a bit of fur accumulating on the ground by now though of course some of it flew away. At least it wasn't staying on the little crup. "There," she said at last. "All done. Now doesn't that feel better?" As if in response, the little creature licked her face, causing Esme to giggle. Looked like she was making a new friend already and that was amazing. She was more than happy to work with a friendly cutie pie.

Now on to the teeth brushing.

That... probably wouldn't go over as well. Yeah, Esme was a bit skeptical because she had never done this with Lucy and she couldn't imagine dogs OR crups enjoying the experience. Professor Draper made it sound easy but then he was an expert with magical creatures and probably wouldn't have any problem with doing it himself.

Biting her lip, Esme picked up the toothbrush and cruppy paste (she hadn't even known that such a thing existed until now). After applying a pea-sized amount on the brush, she gently opened Stacy's mouth wide enough for the brush. The poor thing didn't want any of that and started struggling in her arms. "I'm sorry, girl." It made her feel a little bad but it was a necessary part of crup care. Speaking sweet words of encouragement, she began to work to take care of the teeth, starting from the back of the mouth and slowly to the front. Always making sure to move from the gums to the teeth. Every once in a while she cleaned Stacy's mouth out using Aguamenti but it wasn't easy with the poor thing trying to get away. "I'm really sorry! I'm about done."

It was a good thing that Esme was used to dealing with a struggling dog because that was Lucy every time she needed to have a bath!

Brush their teeth? They had to brush their teeth? Olly guessed it made sense. If he had to brush his teeth every day then so did the crups. It just seemed like a lot of work, and not something the crups would be happy about. But he would do his best to try to make it work. Olly but the brush back into the bin and found the toothbrush and the toothpaste. He squeezed just a bit out onto the toothbrush, except maybe it was just a bit more than he had meant. It was supposed to be about the size of a pea? Well his was about the size of a jellybean. Oh well it was okay. More should be even better, right?

Now came the hard part. He had to get his crup to sit still and allow himself to have his teeth brushed. Olly stared right into the crup's eyes. "Okay Henry, I'm going to brush your teeth now. It's good for you and your breath will be minty when we're done so just let me do it, okay?" He stared at Henry for a few more seconds before moving the tooth brush toward his face. He did not open his mouth. Of course not, that would have been too easy. So Olly took his other hand and used it to try to open Henry's mouth for him. Except he did not like that so much and snapped with his teeth. Fortunately, Olly was able to jerk his hand away in time to avoid being bitten. He glared at Henry.

"Hey, don't do that, that's not nice. I'm not going to hurt you okay? Just let me brush your teeth." He reached slowly toward Henry's mouth and used his thumb to gently pull up the skin around his mouth. So far it was going okay. He was able to brush that side of the mouth, and then he did the same for the other. But all he had done was brush the outside, and that wasn't good enough. He had to get the other side of the teeth and the bottom. That was how he brushed his own teeth. He had to make sure that the crup's teeth were brushed just as good as he brushed his own teeth. Except now was the hard part where he had to actually get Henry to open his mouth.

He moved his hands slowly so as not to startle Henry. When he got close, the crup spun and tried to run in the opposite direction. Olly quickly grabbed him and pulled him back. "Stay here," he said firmly. Henry stared at him and cocked his head to the side. His eyes fixed on the toothbrush as Olly moved it closer to his mouth. Henry's tale started to swish against the ground. Again Olly moved his hand slowly toward Henry's mouth and gently reached inside. He prodded it open and held his hand there to keep it open. Henry's tail was still wagging. While he had the chance Olly quickly brushed the sides and bottom and back of Henry's teeth. Then he removed his hand and held up his wand. "Aguamenti." That rinsed Henry's mouth out nicely.

"Good boy!" He patted Henry's head and scratched behind his ears. The crup's tail wagged even faster. When Olly tried to move his hand away, Henry shoved his head back against his hand. So Olly kept petting him as he waited for the next part of the lesson.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!

:whaa:

Was he serious? CRUPS? OMG!!!!!!!!! Like, could she just take them all home? Could she? What did Zeke think? Weren't they just the cutest creatures ever????? To be honest, Maggie had always been planning on getting a dog but now she wasn't sure anymore. Maybe a crup was the way to go after all.

BECAUSE LOOK AT HOW CUTE THEY WERE!!!!!!!

Once it was her turn, Maggie couldn't quite stop herself from squealing slightly when she picked up the cruppy. sadklfjdslkfjdsklfjsdf. Ignoring the squirming she held it just tightly enough to make sure it wouldn't bounce out of her arms without squishing it. Yes. Perfect. She was already so good at this. Maybe they should get a cruppy after school. Hmm. She was going to have to bring this up with Zeke some time. Maybe visit these cuties down here if he was leaning towards no.

After casting an extra heating charm on the ground as well as conjuring up a small blanket, Maggie swiftly sat down and continued to hold the crup close. Ooookay, brushing. That was easy. Reaching for the brush she softly ran it over the creature's fur. There. That wasn't so hard. And it seemed to like it too. LOVE IT in fact. Like, she was just the perfect future crup owner wasn't she? Someone should be taking pictures of her for an article on how to take care of crups. She could be the poster girl for that. THAT'S how awesome she was at this.

The next step.......didn't sound as easy but as an EXPERT Maggie wasn't too worried.

Brushing the crup's teeth. Easy. Pfft.

"Look at this. We need to make sure your teeth are all white and shiny, yes we are." She continued to gush over the cruppy in her arms while putting some toothpaste onto the toothbrush. Would they be flossing too? "Now we just have to-" Okay, it didn't like that. Clearly. Maybe trying to put her finger into its mouth wasn't the best way to go. So instead she started with its front teeth, carefully holding onto the creature's head.

Ah. Okay, yes. That worked. "Well done! You will be the prettiest EVER after this." Mhm. Absolutely.

Grooming the crup, particularly this one, has turned into a workout. A fun one nevertheless, but definitely feeling some sweat coming up the pores.

The next thing the Professor said got this Gryffindor to seriously take a pause. "Brush his teeth?" he repeated under his breath and looked at Bowie, still blissfully yapping and wagging his tails "Have you ever had your teeth brushed before boy?" Guess they'll find out now.

Back home, his mom always took care of the family crup's dental requirements. That or ask him to toss Maple one of her special kibbles-- the kind that cleaned out her teeth. What the Professor was instructing them to do was to pretty much brush its teeth like a human being. Yeaaahhh this was gonna be fun.

So the Curly Top grabbed the toothbrush, dotted on some toothpaste and paused looking at his energetic little bundle of fur. "Okay Bowie, say eeeeeeeeee--"

--- and there goes the toothpaste all over the little crup's jaw.

Sighs.

He refilled the toothpaste and tried it again. This time the toothpaste went all over his other hand trying to keep Bowie's lips open. Another attempt-- oh wonderful the crup flicked the toothbrush and it landed on his head.

Toothbrush + curls = mini disaster.

Tenacius was still trying to fish that toothbrush out of his hair when the naughty little crup-- realizing its caretaker was distracted-- made a bolt for freeeeeedoooommmm

ASDFASDFADSFDSAF!!

"No!! Bowie come heeeeeeeere!!" and there goes the leonine lad chasing after his crup, tangled toothbrush and all.

Catching up

Hadley Denaker was actually paying full attention during a Care of Magical Creatures class. It was très weird and a bit uncomfortable. Why did that Man have to do something cool like bring puppies to class!? It threw everything off. Just off.

"Alright, Dorian." The pooch cocked his head to the side and looked at her. Hads grabbed the brush and held it up for the crup to see it. He tried to lick it instead. "No, not for licking," she laughed. "For brushing. I'm gonna use it to brush your fur, got it? Don't worry I'll be gentle."

The crup wasn't happy at first, whining as if she were torturing him. "Shhh," she soothed. "I'm not hurting you. You're alright. You're okay." And soon the soothing tone of her voice and the fact that the brushing wasn't rough, and didn't hurt and was actually kinda nice, Dorian the crup settled down and started to wag his tail. He was liking it.

MAJOR catch up and Post 1

Stevens? Pfftttt, at least she had a cool surname with cool history, what did Draper have? A stupid surname, that's what. . . no wonder Haddles called him Drapes. . . Mason stuck her tongue out at him when he turned his back to her, he wouldn't get a greeting in return, cause he didn't deserve one.

Apparently she had been so blinded by her utter lack of sleep, that she didn't even notice the tubs. . . was he gonna make them wash something? Like a smelly troll? Was this like double-punishment??? Waking up early AND washing smelly-trolls??? Merlin, she was quitting this subject the first chance she got.

But when he presented the things they were actually bathing, it was much worse. Crap. Mason was kinda allergic to dog-hair. . . like breaking-out in heaves kind of allergic. And that was NOT a good look, even on her gorgeous-ness. There were only two things that she was allergic to in the world: Shellfish and Dogs. Duh, that's why she had a cat and a turtle, cause even though puppers were super cute, they made her sneeze and heave. Soooooo, nope. And these were Crups, like wizard-dogs, which meant that there was a slight chance that she wouldn't die and they got points for doing these kinds of things . . . Let's see, shall we?

Mason went over to where the puppers were contained. She scrunched up her nose a little at the sight of them. Sure they were cute, but one whiff an- an a-aa aaaa *HATJOOOO!*

T_____T

"Are you fricken kidding me?" Mason whispered as she rubbed her nose. She had barely even glanced at the thing and already she was headed for the heaves. She sniffled a little and glared at the puppers, before grabbing one at random and holding it fifty feet away from her. With the Crup now at arm's length, Mason could feel her eyes start to water. Maybe this hadn't been such a good idea after all. . .

Mason lifted it into the air and starred into the little-thing's face. "I shall name you- aa- aa- *HATJOOOO!*" Mason shook her head vigorously and gave another sniff, "Izverg." A lil mother-tongue never hurt nobody, even if she just named him/her/gender-fluid/whatever, 'Fiend'. Cause that's what this lil jerk and his species was. . . even if they were super cute.

You know, this was probably the first time she had actually spoke up in class, but she was really into it. She was seriously thinking about pocketing Levi and sneaking him back up to the castle with her.

James only grinned a little hearing her question, "They're going to be a bit restless," well... Depending on the crup because they all had very different personalities. Which was probably apparent by now as some people were having the easiest time. "That's normal, but it's also a part of the challenge." So no, they wouldn't be using any spells on their creatures for this. They could handle it on their own. And James was watching incase they needed some reinforcement.

Speaking of which, this one may have been the winner.

And it was quite the sight. James watched in amusement, choosing not to jump to the rescue quite yet. Fortunately for the boy, the cruppies still had tiny bodies that could only carry them too far before they got real tired. It was a matter of seconds before the crup would have to roll down and take a long breather. So they wouldn't be able to make it out of the bounds of James' sight. But... He still kept a close eye on them.

There was always one, wasn't there? Fortunately for Ms. Stevens, James had thought of this. Walking over to her station with her cruppy, he held out a small vial of an antiallergy potion, which should be enough for the lesson. "If you want it," he said keeping it held in front of her. He'd make that her choice. Some students were stubborn.

******

Addressing the class again, "Alright once you've finished up with the toothbrush, you can set that aside... Actually, go ahead and take all the remaining supplies out of your tubs." There wasn't much left sitting in there but at least the shampoo, towel, and food. And as many could have guessed the reasoning behind having tubs..... "We're going to give them baths." How exciting, yes?

This would without a doubt be the most challenging part. But... He believed in them. Most of them. They were ready for instructions, yes? Because James wasn't planning on waiting any longer. "You want to fill your tubs with water before beginning, but don't fill them all the way." That would make things difficult. "And you're going to need to get your cruppy in the water... So it may be easier to lower them into the tub before you start adding in the water, but that's personal preference." James preferred to do it the other way around himself.

"Have the specialty crup shampoo on hand, but first you want to use aguamenti again to get your creature wet. Be very careful around their head. You don't want to flood their eyes, nostrils, and ears." That was MAJORLY important. He waited for a bit so they could get started before he continued. "Once your crup is wet, apply the shampoo. You want to start at their head and work your way down through the tail. Then soap their belly and legs," the scrubbing would be the fun part. And luckily the smell of the shampoo would help cancel out the smell of wet crup. ... Sort of.

"Wash their foot pads too, that's quite important," he added as an after thought. Again, he paused to make sure they had all of this and were getting started on the task. "Once you've lathered up the shampoo, you can start rinsing it out starting at their head. If you still have time, you should use a little more shampoo to run this over one more time." Weaving around the different tub stations, he worked his way back to the front.

"If you haven't already, get started."

OOC: For this task you need at least 2 posts (including everything I have written below), they can be split however you want. I'll be posting again in ~ 24 hours.

+Pour water into bath
+Get crup into the tub
+Use aguamenti to get him wet, but be careful around their head
+Once dog is wet apply the shampoo.
+Started at head rinse all the suds out of dogs coat
+Use a little more shampoo and run through this one more time
+Wash all the suds away

If Echo thought that brushing their teeth were hard enough now they were to give them baths. She sure hoped that Spike liked the water... knowing not all creatures did so, she gave her little furry friend a look. Placing him down on her lap she took out what was left in the bin so she could start to fill it up with water.

The tub was emptied but Echo wanted to make sure that it was super clean before giving Spike a bath. "Scourgify". The bin was now clean and it was now her turn to fill it a little bit with water. "Aguamenti" she made sure the stream was focusing on her tub and when she thought it was full enough she said "Finite" to end the stream.

"okay Spike.. the water is nice, dont splash around alot okay?" holding the small crup in left hand she slowly lowered him in. First his feet went in and he didnt seem to mind, but Echo was still going to go slowly. the legs........ now the belly......to the neck.. thats where she stopped.

It was kind of like when her aunts gave baths to their kids, not letting the head go underwater seemed pretty important. taking out her wand again she followed her instructions to get the Crup even more wet. "Aguamenti" she said while making sure she didnt hit Spike in the face.

she stopped the water flow and picked up the special crup shampoo and started to lather its legs... giving it a nice massage. "see this is the best part....right?" she knew that the little creature wasnt going to answer her but who cares, this was starting to turn out to be fun, even tho she hates to get messy. once the legs were done echo moved to its belly, trying not to tickle it she lathered in the shampoo and then did his little arms, and just the top of the head to stay away from his eyes, ears and mouth. When it comes time to rinse him she can just use her thumb to clean its top of the head, so no water will actually come close to its face.

Mason glowered at Izverg. Now they were supposed to BRUSH these things? What were they? Royalty? Um no, hon. There was no way that she was going to brush it when she hadn't even gotten enough time to brush her own hair. Ponytails were legit life-savers on days like this. . .

And now Draper was offering her some sort of beverage. . . hmmm. "How do I know that you're not taking a page out of Myer's book?" What if he spiked it as well? Would she shrink? Would Izverg step on her afterwards? Hmmm. "You're not even a Potion-Master, did you run it by Newton? Do you even know it was brewed correctly?" Mum said to never take stuff from randos. . . and Draper was definitively a rando.

Before Draper could even answer, however, she grabbed the little vial from his hands and stuffed it into one of her robe's pockets. "Thanks, Prof." she cast one last suspicious-look his way, "If I start to feel like I'm dying, I'll drink it." And by dying she meant the moment her face started getting ugly.

Now, bye bye, Draper. I've got a pupper to notbrush.
Did they HAVE to brush it's teeth as well? This thing really did get 5-star-treatment, which was unfair considering that this was child-labour and they weren't getting paid. Mason would like to get paid in chocolate frogs, peppermint to be exact. She wasn't taking Izverg, that much was sure. . .

Speaking of the little brat. Why was it just laying there? "Come on, I need to brush you." What? "This isn't any time for a nap!" She poked at it with the end of her brush, trying to breath in as little of it's gross-hair as possible. Merlin, why were these things so difficult??? It didn't even open an eye when she poked its soft little body, didn't even protest when she started running the brush over it in its comatose-like-state.

Now she knew how Aria must feel trying to wake her up in the mornings. . .

Echo had almost forgotten to clean its little paws!, quickly soaping them up she got ready for the next steps. Now that her Crup was all soaped up Echo took her thumb to wipe the little amount of soak on her crups head so there was no worries about getting the water in Spikes face.

Taking out her wand she said ”Aguamenti” and started to rinse around Spikes neck, he started to make noise and flop around a little bit but he wasn’t making to much of a mess or noise. ”shhh its okay!!!” she thought it would be a good idea to move away from his neck, so she moved on his arms and he started to quiet down. ”you really are ticklish aren’t you” she said while giggling. Now that the neck and both arms were done, it was time for the belly and she knew that Spike would move around a lot, his belly seemed to be the most ticklish.

Holding on to him a little tighter, but not to hurt him Echo started to rinse him.. squirming and squeaking happened like crazy.. ”shhhh shhhh, its okay” she moved from his belly now to his legs and he started to calm down again. ”mental note to self, Spike is really ticklish on his belly” maybe she could tell the Professor and who ever got Spike next year or when ever that they be extra careful with his belly. Finally rinsing off his little paws Echo read her instructions and she had to use a little bit more soap and do it all over again.

Soaping him up with very little amount of shampoo Echo did the same steps and made sure that she didn’t get any soap or water in Spikes face.

Spike wasn’t going to like Echo now, she needed to rinse him over again, lucky for her there wasn’t much soap. ”Aguamenti” she said and carefully rinsed him again to make sure that nothing hit the face. Her little crup was surely clean now. Picking him up out of the bath Echo placed him on a towel and wrapped him up like a baby. Pointing her wand at the tub she said ” Evanesco” and the water disappeared. Might as well clean the tub again ”Scourgify” and the tub was fully clean. Now she sat there with a bundled crup helping him to dry, and she’ll give him another brush to get the knots out after he was dry.

Still catching up

There, see? That wasn't so bad." She sat back, admiring the happy puppy with a very smooth coat now. And...er what? She had to brush his teeth now!? Er....

"I'm sorry, Dorian. But uh... You're not gonna like this part." Neither would she to be honest. "Just don't bite me okay." Hadley fished out the toothbrush and toothpaste and made a face. Er...how was she gonna do this? "Uh, can you smile for me?" The crup simply tilted his head again. "Smile?" she tried again, mimicking an exaggerated smile for him. The puppy wasn't getting it naturally.

With a sigh, Hadley put the paste on the brush and with one hand, tried to hold Dorian's muzzle still while pushing his jowl up so she could get the teeth. He started to fight her instantly making it that much harder to keep his teeth exposed for the brushing. And the second the toothbrush touched his teeth, his fighting doubled in intensity.

"I know, I know. It'll be over soaahhh!" The crup shoved his head toward her hand, sending the brush spiralling out of control and Hadley ended up brushing her hand instead. He bucked and thrashed with such intensity that she could only get a brush or two in before she'd have to pause again and get him under control. By the time she was finished, there was more toothpaste on her than had gotten on his teeth and the brush itself was a disaster.

Major major catch up!

Colt grinned at the Professor and was already liking his style. He knew the Professor wouldn't keep his suggestion for long. Onto the lesson, he saw the Professor bring out a crup. He tilted his head and observed it. Awww it looked like a dog basically. He wanted to pet it and play fetch. He went to the front and managed to get one. It seemed fearful of him but he didn't blame it. He held out of his hand for the little guy to sniff it. It hesitantly sniffed it and then rubbed its head against him. Success. He wondered what he was going to name it. He thought of a list of names and then thought of one. "I'll call you...Jax." Simple enough but it was was cool.

Then he looked at the tub and saw there was a brush. He got it and began to brush him softly and tried to get rid of the clump of hair. Man his was a shedder. "Man Jax you sure do shed.." he said and got his clump of hair. It was actually wagging his tail so it was enjoying this. He heard the tidbit and paid close attention since he was obviously in his OWL year. He heard the next set of directions and he had to brush their teeth? He thought it was bizare but hey they need to be taken care of just like ours. He went to search through his bin and found a little toothbrush and some toothpaste. He began to add a pea size drop and saw the crup eyeing it suspiciously. "Well this is going to go great.." he muttered sarcastically.

He approached the crup with his toothbrush and he saw Jax backing away slowly. He seemed scared and didn't blame him. He looked around and thought to look for some treats but didn't see any. The Professor should have thought this through. He tried again and almost got it into his mouth when it shook his head and walked away. "Come on...." he muttered. What was he gonna need a muzzle? Possibly. Wait a second he could immobilize him but then the trust factor would be an issue. "Professor before i give him a bath, what happens if your crup is insistent on not having his teeth brushed?" He was approaching him with the toothbrush and it turned away everytime.

Well clearly Izverg wasn't having this, cause his Highness finally rose from his slumber. At first Mason was relieved, because she believed that this would make her job MUCH easier. Let's just say that she was FAR from right.

"FINALLY, did you enjoy that nap, Jerkface?" Maybe it was because she was calling his allergy-inducing-self a jerk, but he looked about as pleased as she felt. "Izverg, this isn't time for you t get all moody, I need to brush you- ou- ooo- oo- HATJOOO-" Ewwwwww. "Teeth." She gave another gross-little sniffle before glaring at the Crup.

"This is all your fault, you know?" Mason told him as she squirted some toothpaste onto the toothbrush. Izverg looked warningly at the brush, before sniffing at it with his tail-thing between his legs. "Oh come on! It's just a little toothpaste, it's not gonna hurt you!" Why was it so scared of a little toothpaste? Was it a hobo or something? Whatever, that wasn't of her concern. All that mattered to her was getting this thing's teeth clean, even if that meant using force. . .

Mini Catchup & Post 1

One last stroke down Sammie's back with the brush gently and she was finished. The little guy might not have looked like he had much fur or needed a brushing but the proof was there. She had collected a rather decent amount of fur from him which she had balled up and set into the tub so it didn't get blown away or anything like that. Setting the brush back into the tub Hady gave the cruppie a nice rub behind the ears earning herself some licks to her hand which made her laugh quietly.

"Alright bud, as much as I'd love to just sit here and play with you we need to get those little teeth of yours clean." Yeah, sharp little teeth. A lot of them. A bite to her fingers wouldn't be needed right now even if it wouldn't hurt all that much. Sammie tilted his head his ears flopping from side to side as if her words puzzled him, which they probably did. Still laughing she reached for one of the tooth brushes and special crup toothpaste. Taking out her wand she cast a quick 'aguamenti' on the toothbrush to wet it just a bit. Then came a little drop of the special toothpaste.

"Now we need to get your mouth open..." Hady showed Sammie the toothbrush to get him aware of it first. Only she had to pull it away quickly when the pup tried to lick it. "No, no it's not for eating," she laughed shaking her head. Such a cutie this guy was! How was she going to brush it's teeth though? Letting out a breath she used a finger to pet the side of it's muzzle effectively getting herself licked. While he was occupied with licking at her hand the brunette got the brush into Sammie's mouth gently cleaning his front teeth. Her laughter kept the crups attention on her and not the toothbrush. At least just then anyhow. When it was time for the back teeth she had to gently hold the top of his head and somewhat use her finger to get his mouth open. It took a little work but she soon enough managed the task. "Good job! Now you're teeth will be stronger then before." Not like he needed that but yeah. Using aguamenti again she cleaned the toothbrush making sure all the paste was off and she even let a small trickle run from her wand for a few moments allowing Sammie to get himself a small drink. He deserved it!

As she was giving her little buddy his drink she could hear Draper talking about giving them crups baths and what all would need to be done. Mhmm she had this. Giving a creature a bath was nothing new. If she could bath a Hippogriff then she could give this little baby a bath easy peasy. Holding Sammie on her lap and petting his head she removed the other supplies from the tub laying everything at her side.

Grabbing her wand again she used it to add some water into the now empty tub being careful not to add to much. Cancelling the charm Hady shifted onto her knees so it was easier to lean over the tub and not completely soak herself with water while doing it. Cradling Sammie in her arms for a moment she gave him a quick snuggle before slowly lowering the mostly now calm cruppie down into the tub. Nearly instantly he tried to wiggle himself free and get out causing her to set a hand on his back holding him semi in place. "Easy, it's just water. Like you were drinking..water...." This didn't help much as he stared up at her with a look of 'what are you doing to me?!'

"Sorry Sammie...," she whispered quietly looking down into the big eyes of the baby crup. Before she could even think about it or feel bad she had to get this done. It was just water and some soap. Nothing harmful to him and he'd get used to it. Picking up her wand again she cast a quiet 'Aguamenti' again this time to wet Sammie's fur a bit making sure not to get his face much, stopping the water when he was wet enough. Now that he was wet Hady opened up the shampoo pouring a bit on his fur and began to gently rub it in forming bubbles as she scrubbed.

Post 1! First few steps!

Azura looked up at Professor Draper as he explained what they needed to do next! Bathe the poor little things? The near teen looked down somewhat doubtfully at her crup, which had thankfully snuggled into her lap now after the horrors of teeth brushing!

She gently petted her Crups head as she reached over and pulled everything out of the tub! She then took her wand and pointed it at the tub and said "Scourgify!" There! Now everything was clean at least! She pointed her wand at the tub again and said "Aguamenti! " Water started to pour into the tub and Azura kept looking at it to make sure that she wasn't going to fill it too high.. "Finite!" She said as she got up on her knees to check the water level! Perfect! She put her wand on the ground next to her and then put Piper down as well.

She rolled up her sleeves and then quickly put her hair up! Last thing she wanted was a wet crup tangled up in her hair!! That would be bad! She then picked up Piper and started to coo at it..

"All right girl.. It's time to get into the bath.." she was slowly lowering it down into the tub.. Paws first..

She held her breath as the water touched the Crups paws.. But thankfully Poer didn't seem to mind, so she put her in all the way, with the water up halfway it's back! There! That worked!

Fiyero stared blankly at Professor Draper for a minute. They were supposed to bathe the crups now?! Was he joking? It was freezing out here! Somehow he didn't relish the idea of wrangling a wet cruppy in this weather; that seemed like a good way for him (or Glinda) to catch a cold.Sriously, Draper couldn't have picked a worse time of year for this, but he was the teacher so...

Fiyero sighed, turning to the cruppy who was snuggled contentedly in his lap. "Okay, Glinda," he said with a forced smile. "You heard the man: bath time." Glinda's eyes changed, growing wide at the sound of the "B" word. Before Fiyero could react, she jumped out of his lap and bolted across the barn. He inwardly groaned as he dashed after her. This was exactly how he was afraid she'd take the news!

"Glinda, come back!" he called. He almost caught her by the far wall, but she shot through his hands before he had enough time to grab her. She took off in the opposite direction, and Fiyero's heart dropped. Oh, no! She was headed straight for Professor Draper! He quickened his pace and finally was able to catch up to her only inches away from crashing into the teacher. "Sorry, Professor," he said, scooping Glinda up into his arms. Please don't take points away from Gryffindor, pleeeease don't take points away from Gryffindor! "I guess somebody-" he shot Glinda a sidelong glance. "-doesn't like the idea of getting a b-" he stopped himself from saying the "B" word again just in time. "-getting cleaned up." He couldn't exactly blame her... he wasn't too fond of bathtime himself.

"I hope you enjoyed your little jog," Fiyero said, holding Glinda a little tighter to him as he returned to his tub station. She replied by licking his hand, and he chuckled a little; he assumed that meant she had. From now on, he wasn't taking his hands off her for a second! He stared at the empty tub for a minute. Now, what would be the best way to do this? He decided to follow Professor Draper's suggestion of putting the crup in the tub before adding the water. That way, if Glinda decided to make a break for it again, at least she wouldn't knock over the tub and soak him.

He drew his wand with one hand, keeping the other placed firmly on Glinda's back. "Aguamenti." The cruppy whimpered a little as the water touched her, and Fiyero soon understood why. That water was cold! "Sorry, girl," he said, "I don't know how to make it warmer."

Bethany paled. Bathtime?! She knew from previous experience that bathing magical creatures was not the most exciting thing in the world. In fact, bathing any animal was a talent in itself, and Beth sure enough did not have that talent. She looked down at Taffy and silently hoped to Merlin that this wouldn't result in her covered in water and soap, she'd save that for the little crup in her arms.

"Alright Taffy, time to clean you up." She said hesitantly, emptying the tub and setting the rest of the materials in it to the side. She picked Taffy up and set him down into the tub, that way he wouldn't be able to dash away once the water touched him. She grabbed her wand from her robes and sent an "Aguamenti." into the tub. Taffy began to wriggle around once the water touched his paws and Beth did all she could do to prevent him from jumping up and running away. She already saw one poor boy's crup run around as soon as it heard the word 'bath' and nearly ran into Draper. That would've been a sight to see, she giggled to herself.

Once the water had filled the tub up to the level she wanted, she pointed her wand to Taffy's back and dampened the fur that was still dry. Once that was finished, she stopped the stream of water from her wand and picked up the shampoo bottle. "This is just shampoo Taffy, it won't hurt you." She said, and then proceeded to pour some onto the shivering crup's fur.

Rex probably needed a bath right about now, considering the amount of toothpaste he had in the fur around his mouth. Dot dropped the brush into the grass beside her and plopped the wiggling crup into the now empty tub. "I'm sorry about this, Sir Rex, and I'm sure you'd prefer we do this the proper way, but you're half Houdini and I just don't have a third arm to deal with it."

She pointed her wand at his little furry paws, figuring the water would be less jarring if it wasn't pouring over his head and into his ears and nose. How awful! "Aguamenti!" The water was warm, but not TOO warm, and it filled the tub slowly. It took a moment, but Rex realized there was something amiss and the splashing began as he turned in circles to explore the wet stuff surrounding him. The barking at the water didn't really seem to be doing much.

Rather than using the spell to get Rex wet, Dot dropped her wand into her lap and used her cupped hands to pour water carefully over his back, legs, and head. It mustn't have bothered him too much, since Rex stopped barking and licked her fingers happily. Maybe it was just the attention he enjoyed? "Who's a good boy?"

Niomi was enjoying brushing her cruppy, Nicey. When Professor got there attention, she stopped in sadness from enjoy a lovely time with Nicey. She knew this wasn't the end of their time together though.

Brush their teeth? Niomi never had to make sure her pets teeth were always brushed. Okay, well first time for everything. Cruppys have toothpaste? That's fine by her. She was glad he was informing the class on this information. She wouldn't be able to figure out how to brush her cruppies teeth.

Niomi put a pea-sized toothpaste on the brush, just as the Professor instructed. Next, she calmly and carefully opened Nicey's mouth. At first, Nicey showed signs of being uncomfortable. After a while, Nicey got used to Niomi brushing her teeth. She continued to brush Nicey's teeth, using water as well, until they looked clean. Once she was done, Niomi stopped, and continued to pet Nicey until the next instructions.

***

Once Professor Draper mentioned the tubs, Niomi looked inside them. She found all kinds of supplies to use for her cruppy. Now, it is time to give Nicey a bath. This will be interesting.

"Aqyamenti," said to till the tub. . Once it was filled, she grabbed Nicey and placed her in the tub. At first, Nicey was startled, with the sudden change on environment, but she got used to it. Next, Niomi go Nicey went and ready to wash. She was extra careful of her head as well! Now, time to move onto the next step.

The first spurt of shampoo that Dot squirted into her palm was immediately eaten by the cruppy. That was probably NOT good for his little belly, and she encouraged him to drink some water to dilute the soap. The second spurt was safe from consumption, but mostly only because Rex was enjoying drinking the water around his feet. Gross.

"You need manners, Your Highness." Dot worked the shampoo into Rex's coat at his head before moving quickly down his back and toward his haunches. The wiggly little crup wasn't interested in holding still, but he stayed in the bucket, at least.

One rinse with her wand, and then Dot worked the shampoo into Rex's coat again, this time dodging his curious tongue as he tried to give her kisses and taste the soap at the same time. She would have thought he'd learned his lesson from before, unless the shampoo tasted good....?

Another rinse, and the suds were gone from his coat. Giant bubbles rose from the water, perhaps a result of her vigorous rinsing, and Rex bit at them happily in the air. "Good boy, Your Highness."

Olly took his tub and dumped it out on the grass in front of him. He needed it to be empty so he could give Henry a bath. That sounded difficult, but necessary. He was determined to do it all correctly and learn well to give his own crup a bath. He hoped his dads had been taking proper care of him while Olly was away at Hogwarts. They probably were, they were good at taking care of things.

Olly pointed his wand at the tub. "Aguamenti." He filled it about three quarters of the way full. Maybe he should have gotten Henry in first, but it was too late for that now. He was sure it would be fine this way too. "Alright Henry, time to get in the bath." The crup just sat there and looked at him. Of course it couldn't be that easy. Olly grabbed Henry around the middle and pulled him into the tub. There was quite a bit of splashing and Olly could have done with getting less water on his robes, but in the end he accomplished his goal of getting Henry into the tub. He raised his wand again. "Aguamenti." This time, instead of spraying haphazardly, he was careful about where he sprayed the water. Henry needed it all over his body and on the top of his head, but Olly was careful not to get it in his eyes or ears. When he was done he stowed away his wand and reached for the shampoo.

And just look at them gooooo...

It was like watching a Charlie Chaplin chase sequence, with the little crup dodging and turning like the tramp and the Gryffindor being the cops chasing after it. Under and over benches, through the Professor's legs as he walked, around other tub stations, even plowing into another crup having a bath "Bowie come back here!!-- sorry Dot!" he called back to the Slytherin Prefect.

He was out of breath. If Bowie was tired it didn’t matter much because it knows it can always outrun him. Oh idea!

The Curly Top removed his robes then crept up at the crup, who was now licking its fur off. Suddenly he flicked his robes over the crup and football-tackled it onto the ground. "I GOT YOU! I got you ahahahahahahah!!"

Bedraggled, he finally plopped back onto his station with a wriggly, whining bundle of robes under his arm. He started groping through his hair for that toothbrush-- where did it go? Lost to the wilderness ....or at least somewhere around here while he was chasing down his crup.

"Ok you got lucky on that one bub." he murmured as he lowered his wriggly bundle into the tub. Oh look he was gonna do laundry today. Self-fulfilling joke har har.

He cautiously removed the robe from over the crup-- and just when it was about to bolt again, caught the crup with his toothpasted hand. Eh looks like the crup isnt the only thing in need of a wash. "Bowie, I want you to behave." he commanded the crup. Yes that is the Captain Salander voice he's using on you little one so better be a good boy starting NOW.

Azura was glad that her Crup was actually behaving and sort of liking the water, she gently held it in there to make sure it got used to it before she took out her wand and said "Aquamenti." The clear water started to come out and she put her wand as close to the crups back as she could, making sure she stayed away from it's head and neck! She wet down it's back, all the while carefully holding it with one hand..

"Finite." She whispered as the water stopped, the crup was mostly wet now and she made sure to use her moist hand to gently dampen the fur along it's head and neck..

"There you go girl.. Now it's time for the shampoo." She whispered as she reached over and opened the bottle and poured some shampoo on her hands before gently working it into the crups fur!

"That smells better! Doesn't it!" Now she didn't smell like wet crup.. More like.. Flowery wet crup.. And That was.. a bit easier to handle..

A bit mind you!

She gently washed the little animal, starting at it's cute little head and slowly making her way down it's back, and to it's tail..and then it's tummy, legs and it's adorable little paw pads!! She carefully scrubbed at it, before getting her wand and saying "Aquamenti." She said as she once again put the wand tip close to the Crup as possible and ever so carefully rinsed it off! And then..she ran some more shampoo through her fur and rinsed it off again!!

"Piper.. I now pronounce you.. a clean crup.. and a bit of a drowned rat." She said with a soft giggle.

Scrubbing the soap through Taffy's fur was a seemingly never-ending task as the cruppy wriggled around and splashed water everywhere. Beth lathered the shampoo in her hands and then continued to softly run the soap through the fur on his back and down to his footpads, careful not to hurt the shivering little thing. Taking her wand out of her robes, damp ones might she add, she pointed it toward Taffy's head, and rinsed out the dirty suds. She noticed everyone else going in for a second wash and decided to do the same.

"Alright buddy, one more time." She said to the still shivering crup. Beth grabbed the nearly empty shampoo bottle, really it wasn't her fault Taffy wouldn't stay still, and lathered it on his fur again. She gently scrubbed through the hair again and sent an Aguamenti onto all the soap. "See Taffy, now you smell better!" She giggled, patting Taffy's cute little head. It was a surprise she hadn't gotten her hair wet throughout that whole ordeal, thank Merlin.

Glinda squirmed and splashed as the tub filled with water, but Fiyero managed to maintain his hold on her. When the tub was about half full, he decided that was enough water. Glinda shot him a disgruntled look as he raised his wand, but that didn't deter him. She was going to have a bath whether she liked it or not!

"Aguamenti," he said, pointing his wand at the top of the cruppy's head. He wished he had an extra hand to use to shield her eyes from the spray, but he had to make do with what he had. Hopefully, she'd figure out to close her eyes. Glinda snorted, trying unsuccessfully to wriggle away from the spray, and Fiyero laughed a little. Aww, this little diva didn't like getting her hair wet!

So far so good... He'd managed to get Glinda wet without her running away again. And he'd stayed mostly dry in the process, that was always nice! Now came the hard part: applying the shampoo one-handed. He awkwardly flipped the lid off with his thumb and squirted a small dollop onto Glinda's head, never once taking his other hand off her back. "It's okay, girl," he assured her as she started squirming again. "You're gonna look so pretty when we get you clean!"

Glinda stopped wiggling at the sound of Fiyero's voice. Talking soothed her, he'd have to remember that! There was just one problem... he couldn't think of anything else to say to her! The only thing that popped into his head was a song from some play his dad dragged him to a few years ago. Well, that seemed as good as anything; having a theater snob dad came in handy sometimes! He just hoped the other students (and Professor Draper) could tolerate his horrible singing until he got this finished...

Glinda calmed down considerably as Fiyero worked the shampoo into her fur, though he wasn't sure if it was because of his singing or all the petting, or both. She even wagged her tail when he got to her tummy, splashing the front of his robes. Washing her foot pads proved to be a little more difficult, as she kept trying to nip his fingers every time he touched her. Note to self: crups like tummy rubs but hate having their feet touched.

After a thorough rinsing with his wand, Fiyero was done. Whew, he didn't think he was ever going to finish! But as he looked around the barn, he saw several of his classmates giving their cruppies a second shampooing. Wait, he had to go through that again?! Great... Well, maybe Glinda would let him wash her again if he kept singing to her (he hoped!)

"There, all done!" Fiyero said triumphantly after he'd rinsed Glinda off for the final time. He lifted her out of the tub, and she immediately shook, spraying Fiyero with flying water droplets before he had time to get out of the way. She shivered slightly as she hopped into his lap. Poor thing, she must be freezing! He wished he knew a spell that would dry her faster.

It was time to get the shampoo and wash Nicey, the cruppy. "It's time to clean you and make you smell good," she told Nicey. Grabbing the shampoo, she put some in her hand, lathered it up, and started to shampoo onto the crups fur. Starting at the head, Niomi soaped Nicey all the way to the tail. Then she moved onto soaping the crups belly and legs.

Once the cruppy was all shampooed she was ready for a rinse. "Okay, I'm going to rinse the soap off now Buddy," she informed the cruppy, again. Taking her wand, she held it by Nicey, "Aguamenti." Once the water became present, Niomi moved it all around the crup, washing all the soap off. After it looked like all the soap was gone, she looked over again for any extra soap that may be hiding. She found some behind the back leg. Using aguamenti again, Niomi washed it away.

"I'm going to wash you one more time," with that being said, Niomi lathered up the shampoo once more, washed the crump, from head to tail. OH! She almost forgot the belly and legs. Once the crup had soap all over it, she said, "Aguamenti." Niomi did a double check to see if the soap was allll gone, and it was. "All done little cruppy," she told Nicey, with a smile and a small pet. She loved this crump already. She was hoping she could have the crup for good and take it home.

Gingerly he aguamenti'd the crup, first starting at its rump, in an empty tub. Some crups don’t like being lowered in a tub of water-- maybe because it felt like its gonna drown? He didn’t know, but their family crup didn’t like it and after the obstacle course he went through with Bowie, he aint riskin it either.

After a while Bowie's wrigglefest has quieted down, and the crup miraculously just stood there, ankle deep in water, and was now cooperating as it was being shampooed. "Now that’s a good boy..." the Curly Top grinned as he formed a bubble wig on the crup's head. Laughed he did, and the crup, wagged its tails at the mirthful sound in front of him. Good boy indeed.

"Ok Bowie, angle your head up for me like this...." Tenacius said as he gingerly angled the crup's head upwards, then gave the initial rinse with clean water from the wand. Hew knew full well that crups really hate having water enter any part of their ears or their nose, and given that he didn’t really want to have an impromptu shower courtesy of a wet crup, the Gryffindor knew to wipe off the excess water off with his hands like stat.

Another shampoo round, and this time he turned this into a bit of a massage session for his crup, specially the fact that they had a pretty hectic runaround earlier. Bowie seemed to appreciate this, because now Tenacius wasn’t even holding him down at all, but the crup just stood there totally serene. One last thorough rinsing and DONE! "We’re done boy yay!!" Aaaand wipe down like a boss.

Bath time. "I knew it", Janelle said to herself. "I hope you like water Mikey because it's time for you to take a bath." This was definitely going to be interesting. Janelle hoped against hope that her crup had done this before. Otherwise, it might be a bit of a challenge.

Janelle took the remaining supplies out of the tub, as she listened to the professor explain the steps they would take. Their choice, water first or crup first? Janelle thought about it and decided that, given Mikey's tendency for friskiness, she'd put the water in first. That was her first mistake. Putting her new friend down, she took out her wand. "Aguamenti" , she said, holding the wand over the tub. She watched as the water flowed into the tub, filling it slowly. Janelle wondered how Mikey would like a bubble bath, but quickly dismissed that thought. When the tub had enough water, Janelle said, "Finite".

Mikey seemed to know what was coming because he jumped around, giving little barks every now and then. Janelle wasn't sure whether that was a good thing or a bad thing. This whole bath thing could go either way. "Mikey, I'm going to put you in the tub and make you nice and clean. You're going to look so handsome when we're done."

Putting her wand away, Janelle bent over and scooped Mikey up into her arms. "Alright buddy, we're going for a little swim.". That was a poor choice of words. As Janelle lowered the crup gently into the water, he began to flail. As he tried to dog paddle in the tub, water splashed around. Janelle tried to calm him down and began to hold and pat him. " No Mikey. I didn't really mean it was time to swim. I need you to be still now."

Ok, so Janelle didn't need to wet much of Mikey's body because he was already pretty wet.......and so was she. Holding the crup's head and patting him at the same time, she got out her wand again. Aguamenti", she said, once more. Janelle continued to hold Mikey with one hand. With her wand hand, she sprinkled the remaining dry patches on his body with water. Then came the tricky part. Janelle started to trickle water onto the crup's head, but thought better of it. Instead, she let go of him, poured some water in her hand and stroked it onto his head. "There now, you're all ready for the shampoo." Let the fun part begin.

Yay! This was Vivian's favourite part! Bathing the cruppy sure wouldn't be difficult or a hassle for her, since she'd done it quite a few times at home with Prancer. Minus the forked tail, at least. She was starting to miss Prancer as the cruppy in front of her kept bouncing in front of her.

"Okay, Pepito, I'm going to wash you! Are you ready? Excited?" Vivian asked him, and the cruppy wagged its forked tail around and bounced even more. What an adorable creature! It made her miss Prancer even more! Vivi took the remaining supplies from the tub and set them aside. "Aguamenti!" she said and a jet of water came pouring out of her wand. She filled one-fourth of the tub and stopped it with a "Finite!" before the water level rose. That was good enough, she thought.

The Slytherin looked back at the cruppy. I'm gonna place you inside the tub now, alright? Just lessen the tail wagging while I do this." Vivi stood up and sloooowly lifted Pepito. There was still a lot of wagging - the first year sighed - but she avoided and ignored it. She then placed the cruppy inside the tub. "Good boy, Pepito!" She grinned at him, and a thumbs up as well.

"Aguamenti!" Vivi said, and she pointed the wand at Pepito. The cruppy splashed and it looked like he was enjoying himself, which made the Slytherin smile as she wet the rest of his body. She paid extra care when she reached the head, as Professor Draper had said. She scratched the back of Pepito's ear when she was done. "You really are a good boy, aren't you?" she said with a smile. "Finite!" And the water stopped

Time for the shampooing part. Vivian placed a generous amount of the crup specialty shampoo on her palm, placed the rest aside, and applied it on Pepito. Lather lather lather. The lil cutie was having so much fun, creating splashes and wiggling. "Fun, right?" And more massaging on the cruppy's coat.

Post 2-Question professor

Now that Mikey was good and wet, Janelle talked soothingly to him while she opened the shampoo. She poured a little into her hand and rubbed them together to make a lather. Then Janelle began to rub the shampoo into the fur on Mikey's head. As long as she seemed to be "petting" him, all was well. He was a good little boy. Janelle was careful to get all around his head. She made sure not to get any soap in his eyes.

Adding a little more shampoo, Janelle lathered Mikey's neck and worked her way down his back. He seemed to be enjoy eying the attention so far. This was one crup who seemed to like physical contact. As long as you were touching him, he could be pretty still. Next, Janelle tackled his belly, rubbing in more shampoo and scrubbing him well. Mikey started to do his little cruppie laugh again and Janelle wondered if he was ticklish. "You are being such a good boy Mikey. We'll be done in no time." Janelle moved on to wash the crup's legs and took extra care in washing his feet. Once she had scrubbed every nook and cranny, it was time to move on.

Mistake number two. When Janelle had finished with the shampooing, she let go of Mikey to retrieve her wand. Mikey chose this moment to do what Janelle had often seen dogs do. She should have known better. He started to shake the water and soap off, resulting in cruppie wetness and shampoo going everywhere. Hit with the soapy mess, Janelle wrapped her arms around her buddy. "Mikey! You have to be still. I wasn't planning on taking a bath too." Steadying Mikey with one hand, Janelle rinsed the water off of his head. She made sure to get all of the shampoo off of his head before rinsing the rest of his body.

Checking her watch, Janelle determined that she should just have a chance for one more wash and rinse. "One more time", Janelle announced before repeating the process. This time she had no major mishaps because she had learned from her mistakes. When the last bit of shampoo had been rinsed from Mikey, Janelle breathed a sigh of relief. "Look at you. You're all clean and smelling sweet." Giving Mikey one more pat, she wondered something. Raising her hand, Janelle had a question for the professor. "Professor, are we allowed to give them a blow dry with the hot air charm?" Just wondering 'cause it would be nice.

Vivian made sure to reach all of the cruppy's body. She started with Pepito's head then his neck then body and waaaay down to his tail. She handled that forked part carefully because nope, nobody was gonna get injured today! The cruppy wiggled more when Vivi started massaging his belly, legs, and foot pads. "Not too much, Pepito! You're gonna get..." Speaking of the devil. The cruppy splashed water on Vivi's face. Meh. So bubbly and soapy. "Please calm down?" Prancer wasn't even this hyper sometimes! The struggle was real.

With that done, Vivi wiped her forehead with a portion of her forearm that wasn't wet or soaked with crup shampoo. Phew! She wiped her wet hands on the edge of her clothes. She'll have to dry that later with a charm or something. Besides, today was kinda windy so that might be some sort of natural blow dryer. She took her wand again. "Aguamenti!" She started rinsing Pepito again, beginning with the head as usual then making her way down.

Then a lil more shampoo, as Draper mentioned. She applied it on Pepito again and the same process as usual, then rinsed the suds away with another helpful Aguamenti. Alright! Finished!

"Don't YOU smell like a dozen of flowers?" Vivi smiled! Yep, she had totally and successfully bathed a cruppy! Aw right! Also, more cruppy licks to the face! So much love from such a tiny little animal.

Hadleigh worked the shampoo into Sammie's fur gently. She slowly worked her way down from his head where she cleaned his ears as well then all the way down his back and his tail. Reaching around and over him she made sure to get his sides all nice and soapy before lightly scrubbing his belly. Finally she lifted each little paw up one at a time making sure to be careful as she got between his little toes and all around his paw pads. He was one clean crup!

"There we go, all nice and soapy. Now for the rinse. Ready?" Rinsing her hand off in the water from the tub she grabbed her wand and cast a gentle 'aguamenti' spraying the water over Sammie to wash away the shampoo. It took a few moments but pretty soon he was cleaned off. Cancelling the charm she set her wand down and picked up the shampoo bottle again. "Alright one more good wash and you'll be all finished." Pouring the shampoo down the cruppies back she once more got to work rubbing him all over to make sure he was doubly clean. Not a spot did she miss.

For the second time she grabbed her wand. "Aguamenti," Hady cast once more this time taking a little longer with cleaning all the soap off. She even ran her hand down over his back and feet to help push the soap off. "Nearly done now just have to make sure all this soap is gone." A few moments later she laid her wand down at her side making sure though to keep a hand on Sammie so he wouldn't shake his wet fur all over her or run off.

A page of out Myer's book? Ah yes, he had heard of that incident. And now all the kids were distrustful of their Professors, yeah? Leave it to Poncho Paul to ruin everything. James wasn't surprised. He just gave Mason a shrug and went to pocket the vial, when she reached out to grab it. "Suit yourself," of course he had made sure to have some antiallergy potions on hand. It was probably a necessity for all Care of Magical Creatures all over. Kids these days were allergic to EVERYTHING. It was absolutely nightmare inducing. And James wouldn't end up being the Professor with an unconscious student on hand. That, he'd leave for Airhead Flamsteed.

"Never said it'd be easy, Winchester," James grinned. They were working with crups, there had to be at least a little challenge thrown in. Otherwise this lesson would be a complete breeze. Besides, James was sure the boy could figure it out. Or was he giving him too much credit?

It was like watching a Charlie Chaplin chase sequence, with the little crup dodging and turning like the tramp and the Gryffindor being the cops chasing after it. Under and over benches, through the Professor's legs as he walked, around other tub stations, even plowing into another crup having a bath "Bowie come back here!!-- sorry Dot!" he called back to the Slytherin Prefect.

Speaking of challenges, this one was having a field day. James had still been keeping an eye on the pair, choosing not to intervene for now. He'd step in if it went on for much longer, but again... What's the fun in a lesson without some adversity, eh? So he watched. Amused. And oh, in coming! Stepping so that there was about a foot of space between his two feet, he let the cruppy run underneath his legs.

And .... Ah, see James knew the boy could do it all along.

And luckily the boy hadn't lost too much time during that little chase. James still gave him a nod that meant something like 'let's get to it', before turning around to take a look at the progress of some others.

"You're one step ahead, Ms. Guidry," he nodded. In other words, he wanted to wait until most students started nearing the end of their crup baths before announcing this bit. But it looked like many of them were just about done.... So with that in mind....

*****

He raised his voice to address the whole class. "You still have some time to finish up with the baths, but for those of you who are done... You can go ahead and grab the towels that should have been at your station and give your crups a pat down," in other words, please don't try to scrub them dry. "And once you've done that, you can use the hot air charm to dry them even further."

He had to give them the incantation for that, yeah? Most of the older students ought to know it by now, but he had little faith in Professor Charms, no offense. "The incantation is 'ventus' and the movement is a little wave," he said demonstrating. "Call me over if you're having any trouble," or just don't have any trouble.

Echo was happy that her Spike was already bundled in her towel but now was going to be the fun part, to hold the little guy and dry him off. "time for you to get dry little guy" she told him while unwrapping him from the towel.

Spike instantly started to shiver as she started to feel really bad for him. "awww you'll be warm soon" she pulled out her wand and said "ventus" and the hot air started to come out, Echo directed it towards him and he looked so cute, his little hair flopping in the wind. "your like a little super model" she laughed while making sure that she dried everything.

Now that he was fully dry she laughed. "you look like a little fluff ball" he was so poofy.

Echo placed Spike back in her lap and waited for further instructions.

Giving Sammie a nice little scratch behind the ears Hady nodded her head to show she had indeed heard with Draper was telling them. Reaching over with her free hand she grabbed up the towel beside her. "Now to get you all dried off, hmm?" she hummed unfolding the towel which left the cruppie wide open to shake himself off spraying her with water. Rather then get upset the Slytherin just laughed it off wiping the water from her face. "Welp at least you weren't all soapy!"

Lifting Sammie from the tub she wrapped the towel around him and gave him light pats all over to soak up the water. No rubbing of anything of the sort as the professor had instructed. It wasn't in the least bit hard. When she had finished she wrapped Sammie free of the towel and set it aside. Picking up her wand she gave it a small wave, "Ventus." A light stream of warm air blow from the tip of her wand which she directed at Sammie's back and legs keeping away from his face. "You'll be all dry in just a few moments and then we can play."

A few moments might not have been very correct as it was more of a few minutes but it didn't make a difference. When the little pup was dry she cancelled the charm and pocketed her wand. Scooping Sammie up into her arms she cradled him close lightly petting his head and ears. "All finished. You were such a good boy, yes you were," she laughed. Sammie giving his thanks in puppy kisses to hands and face.

Olly squirted out a bit of shampoo onto his palm and set to work. He started by massaging it into the top of Henry's head, then working his way down his neck and body. He needed to get a little bit more shampoo to be able to cover the crup. Henry kept wiggling and trying to spin around in his little tub, but Olly managed to cover ever side with shampoo. Now it was time to rinse.

"Aguamenti." He did what he had done before, carefully avoiding Henry's eyes or ears as he sprayed him down with the water. He watched the soapiness stream down Henry's legs into the water. Olly scrubbed a little bit in some places until he was satisfied that Henry was all rinsed off. Then he quickly put a bit more shampoo into his hand and did the whole thing again. Wash, rinse, and repeat. Olly never repeated because it did not seem necessary, but apparently it was good for the crups. Whatever. He rinsed again, then took a step back because he knew what was coming. Except he didn't quite get far enough back before Henry shook his body and water sprayed off of him and onto anyone in the general vicinity, especially Olly.

"I was just about to dry you," he grumbled to Henry. "Couldn't you have waited just a few seconds?"

Kayla Taaffe 06-07-2016 05:34 PM

Viv reached to the side and grabbed a towel. She patted them down gently so they wouldn't hurt her. Then she yelled "Ventus!!" and the Crup was dry.
