Alright, Hattie is primed and ready.

Tenacius lifted his wand and for a brief moment, wondered if he should go easy or go hard. But then the purpose of this was to test her shield charm and if its not strong enough, make sure she gets better. So maybe something that is worth protecting from eh?

And so he decided "Tarantallegra" he uttered, making the wandstroke and sending the spell flying towards her feet.

Harriet closed her eyes, and concentrated really hard. She really wanted her shield charm to work. Because she didn't want to look a fool who couldn't do a simple shield charm. She was only little, but she still really wanted to be able to do her charm.

She opened her eyes a few minutes later, after she had heart him say the charm. Nothing had happened. That meant that her shield charm had work. "Yaay it worked" She beamed. "Do you wanna practice yours? or shall we just move on to the bubble head charm?"

A big grin crossed the Curly Top's face when his spell bounced off the Hufflepuff's shield. "Yay! So you're good to go." Did he need to practice his shield charm? "Well.... Nah I think we're ok." he's learned quite a bit since the last interaction he had with the Auror, and he knows he can hold his own. He made a quick demo of the Bubblehead charm on his hand though and said "You should go practice the Bubblehead charm, its very useful believe me." Mmhm take that as a guarantee from the boy who sleeps at the Fart Factory aka the Gryffindor Boys' dorms.

"Okaay!" Harriet beamed at him. She did want to practice the bubble head charm since she knew now that her Protego charm. "See you later" She murmured, as she headed back over to the little space she had been using before. She was feeling a little more confident now that she knew she'd gotten one charm. Getting something right had an amazing way of making you feel confident, and it had really worked with Harriet right now.

And so onto the bubble head charm. She didn't know if this one was going to be a bit more difficult, but she would work really hard. She at first began practicing the wand movement, and practiced making a big circle around her head. That was quite simple to be honest. But simple didn't always mean that it was going to be easy. So she just kept making big circles around her head. She just wanted to be really sure that she was getting it right.

And now to practice the incantation. "Viseo Ebullio" She murmured out loud. That wasn't too bad. She said that a couple of times, getting used to saying the words. She had decided that was quite a good idea, since the words were sometimes unusual. After a few minute she decided that she had mastered the incantation too, and was ready to start trying the charm

Concentrating, she waved her wand around her head, whilst murmuring the words "Viseo Ebullio" in a confident manner. She felt like confidence was key here. She needed to be confident. And hopefuly it would work. But it hadn't. She wasn't too disappointed though. She was only a first year. So she would keep practicing.

She smiled, concentraing a lot and waving her wand around her head whilst muttering the incantation. Hattie then beamed as a bubble appeared around her head. "Perfect" She said with a smile. She was happy. She didn't know how good a seal that she had, but it was okay. Because she had done it and it made her happy!

It was a real shame that the shield that Skylar had put up hadn't held though that was more in the fact that Esme had wanted to see her cousin block the shot than anything else. "Good job anyway," she said sincerely. It had held up until the last minute and as a First Year she hadn't had as much experience with the spell as the older students had. "It's something that comes about with experience. The longer you cast the spells the easier it is for you to keep focus." The whole attention span thing would get better in time though of course some people could master it very early on.

Too bad they were moving on because Esme wanted to help Skylar with Immobulus but that was okay. The Bubblehead Charm was something that she needed to work on more anyway since she hadn't exactly had much need to master it previously. In fact she had no idea how to cast it until Professor Primeaux explained. Didn't seem to be AS complicated as she had anticipated so hopefully this would go well.

"Viseo Ebullio," she said a few times to get feel of the incantation. As soon as she felt she had it right, she drew a few circles around her head with her wand before smiling at her cousin. Hopefully she was having success with practicing the spell.

Viseo Ebullio.... that's what he'd said... So thats the bubble head charm. Wicked. Now she could go and swim down into the lake... Well, She'd be able to once she'd gotten the thing done.. And rightly so... So going over it in her mind several times until she was sure of the wand motions and pronunciations.... Right, here's goes...
Wand tracing her head she said, " Viseo Ebullio..." To her surprise a bubble was almost forming over her nose...... HYmmm... That didn't work right.... Maybe she needed to go slower with her wand.... Trying again.. " Viseo Ebullio..."
Yes... not bad there she was with a perfect bubblehead , but still it had taken twice to make it work.. She'd need to practice more....

Fiyero was a little disappointed that nobody seemed to want to be his partner, but he just kept practicing the shield charm on his own until Professor Primeaux started speaking again. They were going to do the bubble head charm now. He wasn't sure how he felt about that... It sounded really hard, but he was going to give it atry anyway.

After practicing the wand movements several times, he decided to try the pronunciation."Viseo Ebullo." Nope, that wasn't right! "Viseo Ebullio." That was better. This spell was a lot harder to pronounce than the first!

He repeated the spell a few more times just to make absolutely sure he was saying it correctly, before putting it together with the movements. "Viseo Ebullio!" he said, waving his wand in a circle around his head, just as Professor Primeaux had done; nothing happened. He tried again. This time he got a bubble.to appear, but it popped almost instantly.

Fiyero was starting to get frustrated. He looked around.the room to see a lot of his classmates mastering the spell, so why couldn't he get it right? Was he dumb or something? He had to take a couple of deep breaths to clam down before raising his wand again. "Viseo Ebullio!" he said, a little louder this time. A bubble appeared around his head but he could feel air rushing out of it; it must not have sealed properly. Almost there... just one more try! "Viseo Ebullio." Another bubble appeared around.his head, but this time there was no popping and no leaking. Yay, he'd finally done it! He just hoped he'd be able to.do it again if he needed to use it in.the next activity...

She could sense that Esme was disappointed in her shield charm despite telling her good job. So Hufflepuff of her to just put on a front like that; she didn't do good but honestly? Sky was okay with her shield charm not working perfectly because she was young. Now if in a year she was still having trouble than she'd be more disappointed with herself but for her age, she was content with where she was at. "Okay. Basically theory knowledge goes so far, but nothing beats practice as much as possible. I feel like meditation exercises might help cause I can just work on breathing and focus, yea?"

Anyway they were moving onto the bubblehead charm. Biting her lip nervously, Sky contemplated the incantation first. Viseo Ebullio. It sounded so exotic and cool. Saying it in her head a few times and then out loud, Sky decided it was time to practice with the wand movement. Drawing circles around her head, she said clearly, "Viseo Ebullio" and grinned when she had a bubble around her head!! "I did it!! I did it!" And just as soon as she uttered the exclamation, the bubble popped. Oopsies?

"Very good everyone. Very good. " He walked the line that he had magically put in the middle of the room. "If you are still struggling with the bubble-head charm please find an older student to help you. You are going to want it fully sealed for our little game today." Taking his wand he summoned red balls on the left side and blue balls on the right. "Who knows the game dodge ball?" He looked around to see any hands. "This muggle game is a game of teams. One team on one side the other team on the other side. The key to the game is throwing the ball at the other team. If you hit the person they are out, but if they catch the ball you are out. Now we have to put a magical twist to this game. The balls are charmed to pop your bubble-head charm. " Where they starting to figure it out?


"Now you are going to really want to keep your charm in tact. The room will be filling up with laughing gas. The minute your charm is broken you will be getting a bit silly and will be out. Now you can use your shield charm to help with the balls. Slytherin and Ravenclaws on the left and Hufflepuff and Gryffindor on the right. You have three minutes to help each other get your bubble-head charm on before the room fills. Then we can get started."


Moving his wand he did the charm on himself and waited three minutes. Flicking his wand the room filled with the laughing gas. "You can play, again if the ball hits your charm you are out."


ooc: alright everyone fun game of dodge ball. You will pick who to throw the ball at, but they can decided if it hits them or not. You can play the muggle way dodging and catching the ball and you can use the shield charm to shield it. This is for fun, so have fun!! Oh it was so on!... Miranda loved games and this is exactly what she needed to relax a little. Taking her wand and carefully wove it around her head and said, " Viseo Ebullio" And there as before was a perfect bubblehead. she looked around at everyone else getting their bubbleheads on as well... She was so excited and was eyeing the balls.

Oh good, Hady had agreed to be her partner. "Thanks" No sooner than the words left her lips, it was over before it began. They had to move on to the Bubble-head Charm. Shooting an apologetic look toward Hady, Janelle began to practice the second spell.

Holding her wand, Janelle made a circle around her head and said, "Viseo Ebullio". Fortunately, this was a spell that Janelle had spent considerable time practicing. The bubble formed around her head immediately. The question was, was it strong enough to keep out whatever the professor had planned? She felt pretty confident about her chances, especially since there was nothing lethal to protect against. Janelle was bout to dissolve her bubble and try once more, when the professor spoke again. It was activity time, so she would have to go with what she had.

Janelle began to smile when she found out what the activity was: Dodge Ball! Now she had spent her fair share of time on muggle playgrounds, so she was not unfamiliar with the game......at all. This was going to be fun. The big challenge was to keep her concentration so her bubble would remain strong. That would not be easy. Ready to play, Janelle made her way toward the Ravenclaw/Slytherin side of the room. It looked like she'd be on Hady's team after all.

Dude they were playing dodge ball! Wizarding style!

A very bright grin lit up on this Gryffindor's face. And with ease and adeptness he swirled his wand about his head, casting "Viseo Ebullio!" forming the bubble head charm around his head. Although really taking a lung full of laughing gas may not be such a bad thing eh? He'd have a good laugh AND generate another kind of gas. The kind some of his classmates may not so thrilled about smelling.

If there was one drawback about this is that it means he was going against the Ravenclaws-- which was where Hadsters was at, and he wouldve much preferred that they belonged to the same side. Also he would have to go up against the Slytherins, his dad's old house. Although the Hufflepuffs is his mom's old house too, there wasn’t a whole lot of friends he had there, surprisingly enough.

But yes pick a side and he fell in line with the Red and Yellows. Game time? Tenacius levitated a ball and flung it against the opposite team, aiming at the bunch of them gathered together.

Shots fired!

As soon as the professor started talking about filling the classroom up with laughing gas, Jaemin decided he was out. Bubble Head Charm or not, he wasn't risking it, especially if the point of the game was to try and pop other peoples' bubbles. He knew enough about laughing gas to know that it was still a drug and that someone could... you know... die from breathing in too much. He had already nearly frozen to death this term. That was enough almost dying for him, he wasn't going to have a professor attempt to kill him too.

While the class was sorting itself out, the small boy moved to the front of the room and nonchalantly picked up his bag, before making his way to the door and slipping out into the corridor.

Hadleigh smiled at Janelle happy with the two of them working together. She watched her friend preform the bubble-head charm on herself. Now that they were both ready to go they could get to the little activity right? Nope. Just then the professor started to speak quickly capturing her attention.

Whoa, wait. What?!

A game of muggle magical dodge ball? Wicked! It made perfect sense why they needed the bubble-head charm now. Laughing gas was no joking matter. Erm well okay yes it was seeing as it made you laugh but still. She wasn't to worried about the effects of the gas or the laughter, the professor was there to keep an eye on them if something went wrong.

Hady smiled at Janelle glad to hear that even if they weren't going to be partners now it was still like they were. Green and blue were on the same side here. Joining her 'team' the snakette took a look over them all, mainly the younger years. "Anyone need any help with the bubble-head charm before the game starts?" Better to be safe then sorry and there was no trouble in helping out a team mate.

Three minutes went by super quick when you're preparing for a game. Before long red and blue balls were flying around the room. "Protego!" she recited firmly tossing up the shield charm around herself as a red ball flew her way and made a loud 'SMACK' against her shield. Not bad aim whoever had thrown that one.

Azura was glad she had her bubble head charm intact as the Professor spoke! Laughing gas! That sounded fun and dangerous as well! But really mostly fun. This was a way to see if she has done her charm right at least!

As the room slowly filled up with gas she didn't detect any leaks or anything and she wasn't giggling hysterically! So she must have done it properly! Hooray!

She moved over to her proper side and put her wand up, ready for whatever was coming her way! This should be fun!

The charm on the door went off and Julien looked to see what was going on. Umm, no, that wasn't how this worked. He followed the boy as the rest got started on the harmless, but fun game. "Excuse me, where do you think you are going? Charms is a required class and you are not allowed to leave until class is dismissed. " He eyed the boy a bit, he remember he was such a good student last year, but he had heard things and saw things this term. Something was very different and Julien was very disappointed in the changes.


"You will lose ten points for leaving class and you will return for the activity or you will be receiving detention. The activity is not hard and you are capable of doing the charms since you were just sitting on the floor not really practicing either during the time you could practice." He stepped out of the way so the student could head back in. It was clearly his choice, but he hoped he'd pick class over detention.

Well at least he had made it out the door before Primeaux had followed him. Jaemin looked up from where he had stopped just outside the door in the hall, one hand in his bag to find his book, and frowned. Really??

"I'm not playing that game," he said, rather flatly. "That stuff you just filled the room with can hurt people. If you breathe in too much of it, you can die. I'm not gonna play a game that means I might end up having to breathe it or make other people do it."

He had had it already once at the dentist. He hadn't liked how it made him feel at all and there was no way he was going to run the risk of passing out in class. Especially with a professor who lit rooms on fire for fun when there were students inside who didn't like using magic and didn't need to be forced to do it. Who knew what would happen.

"You can take the points. I'll sit out here and read my book til class is over but I'm not going back in there just to get drugged."

He no longer trusted Julien Primeaux. The small teen pulled his charms book from his bag, sat down on the floor, and opened it in his lap. He gave the man a long, hard look before turning his attention to down to the book instead.

He looked at him confused, "Did you not listen to the beginning of the lesson? There is nothing in the room that can hurt anyone. The laughing gas is magical gas. It will make you laugh and giggle." He shook his head in disbelief, had he been this off this term that his student truly thought he would harm them? He was lost in thought for a few minutes thinking about where he went wrong.

He watched Jaemin sit down and shook his head, "No that wasn't the choices you had. You need to come back in the room and do the activity or we will be doing it in detention. There is nothing that will hurt you and it is a fun game to end our term and practice our charms." He was a bit distracted in thoughts, but he was still going to push the boy. He knew Jaemin was a good student, so he knew he could be good at this activity.

He could keep saying that over and over. It didn't matter when he had first said it in class and it didn't matter now. Jaemin shook his head resolutely and looked up at Primeaux, finger marking where he had been in a sentence.

"I don't believe you," he said plainly, shrugging. He hadn't said it was magical laughing gas before, but now when presented with a student who didn't want to be exposed to it, suddenly it was 'magical'? Sure Primeaux. Sure. "With all due respect, sir, it seems like you're only saying that to get me to come back inside."

He was still threatening him with detention. Still. Even though Jaemin was trying to read his charms book and learn things rather than do... that mess in there. The small teen felt a sharp stab of annoyance in his stomach and he looked back down at his book for a long moment.

"I'm not going back in there." The second year's voice was firm. "I'll practice my charms, which I do all the time anyway, but not under the threat of getting drugged. That's not fun to me."

Julien was trying to be patient, he was, but after a term full of miss behavior and trouble at home, his tolerance was pretty much spent. He was ready for summer, probably more then the students at this point. This was just the icing on the cake. He was just at the point of done, but he was professional so he took a deep breath. "Well I'm sorry you don't believe me, but I can't understand why you wouldn't think it was magical. Are you trying to say it was muggle? " Did muggles even have laughing gas? Like how would they even make something like that without magic? He was a pureblood and never truly spent time with many muggles. So if that's what he meant, well Julien didn't care.

" Then detention it is. I will send you a message of the time to be in the dungeons. If you won't do the charms in class then you will do them in detention." End of story, he was done. The child could still come back into the room and do the activity or he could stay out here and do it in the dungeons later. It was truly up to him.

He couldn't understand why Jaemin would think it was a Muggle substance? Jaemin looked up at him incredulously. How had magical society gone this long without being exposed to Muggles? Honestly.

"I'm half Muggle. You know that. I grew up mostly like a Muggle. With Muggle stuff." Why would he think it was anything else? It wasn't like Primeaux had explained it as anything else. And wizards had plenty of Muggle stuff in general in their culture. Why would it be weird of them to have nitrous oxide? If anything... this entire conversation sounded like Primeaux backpedaling furiously to try and not get caught out by a student. "Doctors use it. It's for anesthesia. It's a drug."

As he had said repeatedly.

"I know how to do the charms. I did perform both of them in there. I can do them right now if you don't believe me." if the man thought he would participate any more if threatened with being drugged in the dungeons than he was participating now... he was deluded. "I just won't participate in the game, because I don't agree with exposing other people or myself to that stuff."

Which was why he had quietly removed himself. Primeaux was the one making a big deal of a teenager not wanting to be exposed to a classroom full of drug gas. Jaemin had been discrete and hadn't made a big deal of any of it.

"If you need to give me detention, then give me detention. I don't deserve it, but I'm just a student and you're the professor, so you get to do whatever you feel is right. Apparently I don't." he shrugged.

Esme nodded at her cousin, pleased that Skylar had discovered that meditation was something that helped her and managed some success with her Bubblehead Charm. Even though it hadn't lasted that was still rather the accomplishment. She had wanted to say as much but Professor Primeaux was calling for them to move on to the activity already. "Way to go," she said with a smile though of course they would be on opposite teams... but DODGE BALL.

This would be fun and the laughing gas would add another element to it. Esme wasn't sure why Jaemin was making a big deal out of something that makes you giggly but to each their own. She was just happy to get started with this game. Drawing a circle around her head she said, "Viseo Ebullio." Bubble in place she was good to go!!

Even though she had wanted to be on the same side as Slytherin, Esme was super excited as she joined up with her teammates.

As much as he *adored* charms class and the drama that brought along with it. Leave it to the professor to handle what was going on with the Slytherin. Henric simply kept his mouth shut and non-verbally cast the bubble-head making spell around his face."Viseo Ebullio." Ohh....detention. Nasty business. Nope, Henric didn't want to go there again. Once was enough thanks. TIME FOR DODGEBALLS.

Janelle checked her bubble head, just to make sure she didn't need to repeat the spell. All seemed in good order......she hoped. Once she had sided with her team and the professor had given the word, it was on. Janelle was nothing, if not a teeny bit competitive. She grabbed a blue ball and threw it toward a group of Gryffinpuffs. Did they not know to spread out? Rather than stand idly to determine if she had gotten a hit, Janelle was immediately on the defensive.

If there was one thing Janelle knew, it was that you had to keep your eyes open and stay on the move. Wait, that was two things. Anyway, she stayed on the balls of her feet, ready to dodge, dip, dive, duck and dodge. Oh yeah, she loved this game.

Oh, they were starting already? Henric was quite excited to be honest. He hadn't given a chance of taking anyone out from his girlfriend's house for like.... a really long time. Oh yeah.... this was going to be competitive alright. He spotted the Ravenclaw at the corner of his eyes just in time before the ball flew directly at him! Henric quickly ducked out of the way. Woo! That was close. He ran towards one of the red balls and attacked back.
