| | Career Advice Section Graphic Credit: Charely Potter Beside the Restricted lays what from now on and onwards will be called the 'Career Advice Section' since Mr Kitridge changed out the room plaque for a shiny new one and made some changes. The circular room still has its nicely furnished book cases, a few comfy blue and green sofas, reading lamps, side tables and a few plants. The plants don't need much water but if someone were to give them a few water drops now and then they'll be ever so happy since Mr Kitridge tends to forget to water them.
The bookshelves and tables are stocked with up to date books, pamphlets, magazines and folders for all magical careers/professions known to exists in the wizarding world today from shopkeepers to caretakers to night bus drivers. Each new year the room is restocked with fresh information and new for this year is that there is also information and application forms to all universities. Since a few years back the room also has a few writing desks complete with writing material which anyone is free to use.
Come on in, grab a magazine or folder and dream about what you want to work with when you graduate from Hogwarts or start on that short story you always wanted to write.
Any questions or concerns should be run by Mr Kitridge! |

| For Olly ¼ of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pls There was no such thing as 'too young' when it came to future, or so Katherine thought. She'd already had a few (or a thousand) career options in her mind, from becoming a Healer to Minister for Magic Unspeakable, but she didn't really know what options she had; since her mother was a muggle and her dad was... well, had his own shop that served to muggles, even though he was a wizard. So Katherine was left to her own research, and starting from this section sounded like a great idea.
WHAT did she like the best..? |

Olly was not a frequenter of the library. But he did have to go there sometimes, when he was forced to for homework or whatnot. So there he was, just browsing. Wandering down the aisles because honestly he couldn't remember what he came in there for. It was all sort of blocked from his memory. He didn't leave, though, because he actually did like the atmosphere of the library. It was quiet, it was always a nice temperature...
He walked past the career advice section and paused for a minute. What did he want to do with his future? He didn't really know. But he was only thirteen and didn't think he really had to worry about that for a while. By the looks of it someone around his age thought differently.
Oh no. It was her. Olly knew who that was. That girl who had been mean to him last year. Who thought he had a crush on him. And who was apparently Ellery's best friend. But a girl who he had so far managed to avoid for half a year. Oh no. He didn't want to see her. He didn't want to have to talk to her. Olly took another step to the left so he was mostly hidden behind a bookshelf. Hopefully she wouldn't notice him.

| ¼ of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pls As the library was too silent to not hear the footsteps, Katherine didn't turn around to look at the newcomer as quickly, because she was 90% focused on a brochure about being a Healer. However, after she got the main message of it, she turned around and... it took her a short while to locate him. Her BFF Ellery's brother (it was still so hard to believe that - she was so PERFECT and he was a hopeless case), hiding (?) behind a bookshelf. She rolled her eyes not so discreetly, and turned back to the brochure as she said "You don't have to hide, y'know. I don't bite."
As long as he didn't... 'check her out' or something. |

As long as he didn't... 'check her out' or something. Oh no she had seen him. Drat. He was hoping to be able to slip away unnoticed, but apparently that plan was out the window. He scowled just a bit and stepped back out from behind the bookshelf. "I wasn't hiding. I was browsing." It was a library so that was perfectly believable. "Oh yeah?" He muttered skeptically at the 'I don't bite' comment. He bet she might, given the right circumstances. But he did take a few steps closer. If she was Ellery's best friend he should at least try to get to know her a little. Maybe that was pushing it, but be civil with her at least. For Ellery's sake. Only for Ellery.
He had to say something. He couldn't just stand there. "What are you looking at?" |

| ¼ of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pls Yeah, right, just browsing. Katherine snorted, but didn't say anything. Come to think about it... he was handsome. Shame that she didn't plan dating until after university... "Career options," she said and half-consciously offered him the brochure she had been looking at. Maybe they could make a new start. Maybe he had found a new girlfriend or crush. She didn't want to hate Ellery's brother forever, after all. "It's about becoming a healer," she said simply. Did he have any idea about it? |

Okay this was going fine so far. No biting. No horrifying accusations of him having a crush on her. Alright, this was fine. Olly could handle it. He stepped even further into the room, even closer to where she sat at a table. And when she handed him the brochure, he took it. It was indeed about becoming a healer. He glanced over it but didn't really take in any of the information. He didn't want to become a healer after all so there was no reason for him to read it. "Is that what you want to do? Become a healer?" Or was she just browsing some options?

| ¼ of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pls It indeed was going well so far, which was pretty encouraging. He didn't bite either, or followed her to throw balls. And anyway, even if he did still plan a future with her, she wasn't interested and he probably knew it by now.
She shrugged. "I want to ultimately become the minister," she said casually, as if it was a done job, "and I don't think I can do it if I become a healer. But it is an option, yes." Since she could do pretty much anything. "What about you?" Bet he didn't have a plan yet. |

To be quite honest, imagining Katherine Mary Moss as the minister of magic frightened him a bit. At least any possibility of that was a long way off so he didn't have to worry about it for a while. It gave him plenty of time to plan, or get on her good side if that was necessary. Maybe he'd move. "I don't know," he said with a shrug. "I'm only thirteen, I don't have to know." Plenty of people his age didn't know what they wanted to be when they grew up. It wasn't his fault she was a...Ravenclaw. He knew he didn't really want to work at the ministry or anything, that just didn't seem interesting to him. "Maybe I'll work with dragons." That sounded exciting. "Or be an auror. Or a professional chef." Not that he was particularly interested in any of those things, but it was nice to have options.

| ¼ of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pls Of course he didn't know. Of course he was only thirteen and he didn't have to. It was because he was an average person too. Only winners planned the future, no matter how distant it looked, and this was the very reason she and he would never work out. She KNEW where she would BE in 20 years' time, whereas he... was saying dragons like a five year old kid.
Pathetic. But it opened the way for really ambitious people like her.
She nodded as if his plans were fantastic. "I wish you all the best, Oliver," she said and paused, because she honestly didn't know what else to say. WHAT did you say to a person with no goal? |
