 Charms Activity, #2 Constant Vigilance! O_O AWAKE!
Isabella had was hungry. She also still needed to do another art project for Charms. She was headed to the Great Hall to grab a bite to eat when she noticed a door she hadn't seen before. Ooh, the perfect place for her to decorate! Probably! Opening the door, Isabella peeked through the doorway to see what hidden room was here.
Oh.
It was just a broom closet with cleaning supplies. Isabella tried not to be disappointed. She had secretly hoped she would stumble upon the hidden swimming pool while doing her charms art. Not today, she supposed. Still, the broom closet seemed like it could do with some cheering up. Bright colors and all! Isabella pulled the door allll the way open so she would have room to work.
"Colorvaria," Isabella said, directing her wand at the inside of the door and picturing that lovely shade of yellow that filled most of the Hufflepuff common room. It was such a peppy color, yellow could make even the sad old broom closet a happy place. As the entire inside of the door turned yellow, Isabella wrinkled her brow as she tried to think of what else she could do to make the broom closet peppier.
Balloons! She could paint balloons!
"Figura oval!" Isabella exclaimed repeatedly as she traced future balloons of various sizes on the yellow background. "Figura triangle!" she then went back and added little triangles to the bottom of the 'balloons' to demonstrate that they were tied to invisible strings. She didn't really know how to draw a squiggle with this charmed art spell, so she was going to say the strings were made of fishing line, so you couldn't see them. "Colorvaria," she then said, going through all the ovals and triangles that made her balloons and filling them in with all the colors of the rainbow -- red, orange, purple, blue, green, even some white balloons.
Perfect. Now, anytime somebody came to the broom closet to get supplies for chores, they'd be greeted by a cheerful painting of balloons. Isabella beamed at her project, certain that she had laid the groundwork to make several people's days in the future.
"Animatae," she said, adding a final touch. Now the balloons could sway in the breeze every time the door moved. With a firm nod of self-approval, the eleven-year-old closed the door gently and walked away, heading back to the charms classroom. She had had so much fun decorating the door that she forgot to go get a snack. |
