Paul smiled at Justin as they both got ready to duel. Well, this would be just a jolly good time, wouldn't it? Paul couldn't wait! It was all for fun, right?
"Good luck, Justin!" he said, waving his hand at the other man in a friendly manner.
He wasn't too competitive, but he was also determined not to be made a fool of. So he was already forming a tiny game plan in his head, bowing to Justin once he got to the other side of the room. Wand in hand, he took a deep breath.
Should he start? He should, he should. It was better to make the first move. The waiting game was a bit more anxiety-driven, wasn't it? Squinting a little in determination, Paul Myers wielded his wand, and sent three rapid spells in a row towards Justin.
The first, a babbling curse, a mild one, of course. Sorry, Justin, m'boy. The next spell was a well placed ANTEOCULATIA, which he chuckled to himself for thinking of...and the third...oh the third. He casted the third assuming the antlers would take to Justin's head, but even if they didn't, Justin would have to avoid the babbling curse, the antlers, AND the ropes Paul had just shot Justin's way. Carpe Retractum. An old classic move Paul liked back in school.

Justin gave a sly wink at Paul after they shook each others hand, "Same to you Paul. Loser treats the other to a drink after." Which was not going to be him, thank you very nice. Heh heh. Now for the bow. He had only a few seconds left to think about what spells to send.
The first was an automatic one, Protego Horribilis, shielded enough to reflect back the first one. This Groundskeeper wasn't going to be tongue-tied so easily as he stuck his tongue out right after.. allowing the next one to hit. As he could feel the sides of his hair grow out to resemble antlers.
Merlin, the weight on the antlers was unexpected. "Oi!" Landing on his knees, he unknowingly ducked dodging the last spell checking his reflection from the floor. He could be mad, but being mad led to dumb mistakes. So with that. "You could've at least made my nose red too!" That's it, he was going to rock this look. Maybe it could serve as a distraction.
Justin grinned... Right before casting a nice Titillando at him, that should loosen his composure.

Paul could agree to that. A drink with Justin wasn't the worst--the man was absolutely lovely company, after all. And it would make things more interesting, wouldn't it? Heh.
The Herbologist quickly dodged the babbling curse--like, OH NO! He couldn't let that happen, ha! Thank Merlin he was still somewhat quick! And HAHA, Justin! Paul smirked triumphantly as the antlers took hold--heh! They were quite cumbersome, weren't they? "Sorry, Rudolph! We just missed Christmas--" he chuckled to himself, which....increased a second later because that tickling charm? It hit him square in the chest, causing him to hunch over in laughter, and eventually fall to the ground in laughter.
MERLIN!
"J-JUSTIN!" he cried, while tears formed in his eyes from laughing. It was hard aiming your wand at someone when you were laughing your bum off! He needed to get his game in gear with his defensive spells, to be honest, but he sent a simple distracting spell Justin's way, at first, crying, "Herbifors!" because OBVIOUSLY he had to use that one at some point!
He then sent both the jelly fingers curse at Justin AND the jelly brain jinx...because he was still laughing, and he needed to SLOOOOW Justin down.

The duel between two of the professors of the school was interesting to see, especially when an offer of drinks was being made and one of the opponents had been a professor of his back at Durmstrang. Yeah, interesting was definitely the right word for this.
There was a chill vibe in the air and he couldn't help but chuckle to himself at some of the comments that were made, particularly from Justin himself. Really, Paul should have given the Groundskeeper a red nose to match the antlers. It would've given Roderik an excuse to call him Rudolph or to sing that particular Christmas song during dinner at the staff table.
Opportunity missed.
When the time for the duel came to a close, the Defence Professor struck up a magical barrier between the two men before stepping out of the shadows. "Excellent duel, gentlemen! But Rudo-" Cue a clearing of his throat. "Justin, I'm afraid drinks are on you today. Well done on your win, Paul." Smile.
Should he ruin the man's day and inform him that his next duel was up against his boss?
Eh, probably not.
