Since it's first discovery in the 2050s, the Treehouse has maintained it's presence throughout the years with upkeep and improvements thanks to the many Groundskeepers. A massive tree houses a wooden fort that sits high up in its branches. A rope ladder automatically descends down upon approach. Once inside you are greeted with a spacious place to lounge, much larger than the exterior leads on.
Whether you choose to bird watch, study or simply relax with friends, this place makes it easier with the mini fridge that refills with cool beverages, thanks to Mr. McLeod. If you happen to slip, don't worry, you are greeted with a bouncing charm on the ground keeping you safe and free to climb back up again.
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.

A prefect's work was never done.
"Hey. Hey, Gryffindor!" She stomped the rest of the way to the foot of the treehouse and peered up at him. "You can't hog the whole tree."
Tug tug tug tug tug.
It did not seem like there was this much ladder when he climbed it.
He continued pulling on it until it was almost completely up. He paused briefly when some one came a yelling. No No No No! PREFECT NO! Ugh She'll ruin his idea! "I'm not gonna do that!" He continued with the ladder, though his head did turn and noticed that the whole tree house was indeed bare at the moment AND of course it was huge in here! He could do that. "Great idea though." He'll have to rethink his whole plan once the rope reaches the top.
His real fun idea was to jump from the entrance and just have fun landing on the cushioned ground below him. Though having run of the Tree House was also tempting. He looked around him once more. Letting the Slytherin Prefect's idea attempt to tempt him.
No, his Gryffindoring was to strong. Falling with style onto the comfy ground below was much cooler. He just can't have the rope ladder swinging in his way. If he caught his foot in it mid jump....hmmmmmmm...well guess that's why the ground was cushioned to begin with. Maybe he could have just left the ladder be?

Bah too late for that now.
Little sassy pants was still pulling up that ladder, and Dot frowned at him with her MOST SERIOUSLY DISPLEASED look. If he wasn't hogging the treehouse, then what was his plan with the ladder? And why was he looking so... full of mischief?
"Listen, kid... kid. KID. Stop pulling up that ladder. I'm serious. Just drop it down here, or I'm going to... turn you into a capybara." It was a real thing, too. She'd turned Dante into one once, and he hadn't even done the hugely misinformed thing of not listening.

SPOILER!!: Esme
Foxes were lovely animals and Esme would love to have a Patronus with a form like that though she knew the shape was based upon personality more than anything else. If she knew more about this kind of thing maybe she would have been able to guess what hers was. As it was she didn't want to jump ahead too much; especially not when she wasn't yet sure if she'd ever be able to cast more than a puff of smoke. "Could you show me now?" That wouldn't be much of an inconvenience, would it?
Head shake. Nope, she did NOT like birds. "I have a little owl so that I can send letters but he's the only one I'm okay with." That was based more on the fact that she was familiar with him at this point than anything else. A large owl had definitely been out of the question and she didn't know if she'd get another one when he died. Probably not.
"I know that they are really proud and I really don't want to get hurt." Esme shuddered. It would be amazing if she could get through Hogwarts without having to go to the Hospital Ward even once.
Now? Totally. Mhmm. Hady nodded her head. "Sure thing." There was no trouble at all in showing a friend. Removing her wand from it's holster she fingers the wood for a moment before fixing it firmly in her grasp. Pointing it away from them both she fixed her thoughts on her happiest of memories it coming to her instantly now. "Expecto Patronum!," she cast a white light erupting from the tip of her wand quickly taking the form of a silvery fennec fox which bounded happily around the floor of the tree house.
Aaww. At least she had an owl she could trust enough that she was able to write home and things. "I only have a small owl myself. As much as I found the larger ones pretty I wanted a little one." All her pets were little really...well not true. Aime her snake was quite large.

As she stepped into the Treehouse, Elora felt a little bit more relaxed. This study schedule was getting to her but she kept breathing. She noticed a sofa with extra pillows in the corner. With quiet footsteps, as to not disturb those around her, she made her way over.
It was just the right amount of pillows to prop herself up and crack open her books. Pulling out her notes and textbook, she sank back into the pillows and began to read.

Rachel found herself drawn to the Treehouse today. In her hand, she was gently clutching a stuffed Sebastian the crab toy. It was one of her favourite stuffed toys that she owned and she had the urge to bring him out on the grounds with her today. "I'll show you the view from atop the treehouse,'' she told the crab as she pocketed it. At that moment the ladder descended.
Grasping it, she began to climb. Once reaching the top, she retrieved Sebastian and turned to show him the wonderful view. "Look how pretty everything is, Sebastian! Don't you think so?'' The Eagle smiled, taking in the serene view. Hogwarts and its Grounds was truly a marvelous place.
Leaving her toy crab facing the view, she turned to look at the interior of the Treehouse. Her eyes caught someone familiar, a girl she had often seen in the Ravenclaw common room. "Hello,'' Rachel said softly, fearful she may be disturbing the studying girl.

Hearing a faint voice, Elora looked up from what she was writing. Before her stood a young girl she had seen once or twice. Here we go. Another shot to make a friend. She could do this. Gathering the courage she smiled, "Hi there! I'm Elora. What's your name?" the words sort of quietly spilled out of her, but the point was, she had said them.
The girl seemed friendly so Elora closed her book and said, "Want to sit with me?"Woah she thought, Maybe this friend thing will be easy. Just remeber how you made your friends back home... kindness...humor...and trustworthiness...you can do this With that she finished her internal pep talk and smiled.

For a second Esme wondered if Hady would have said no to the request. It HAD been rather sudden and maybe the Patronus would scare Hagan and Sparkle. A moment later, however, the Slytherin had agreed and that put a huge smile on her face. Of course she had seen corporeal patronuses before because her parents could cast them, but that didn't make this any less exciting. Eyes wide, she watched as Hady cast the spell away from them and a silver fennec fox emerged. "WOW!" Giggling, she watched as it bounded around the treehouse. "He's so BEAUTIFUL." One day she would be able to do that herself.
"I didn't want to get an owl but I needed to be able to send and receive letters." She had made the decision herself because no matter how scared she was she didn't want Juno to have to do all that for her. She had been determined to write the letters and send them herself. "I was terrified of him at first but now I trust him enough to know that he at least won't hurt me." The same thing couldn't be said for the rest of them. "You have an elf owl too?" Just talking about birds made her shudder.

Hady let her patronus leap around for a bit longer before canceling the charm. "He is, isn't he?," she commented with a bright grin. It had taken her a long long time to prefect a corporeal patronus and she was very proud of the accomplishment.
Understandable if you were afraid of something, why would you want it. "At least you trust him now." That in itself was a major step forward she was sure. "Uh-uh. Riddick, that's my owl, he's a forest owlet. I'm not sure where my dad got him but he's rather smallish compared to some other types."

Esme was completely enchanted as she watched the fox. It never ceased to amaze her that these forms were exactly the same as the true animal. "I wish I could master the spell right now," she commented wistfully as Hady ended the spell. As quickly as the fox had appeared, it had POOFed into a cloud of smoke. Maybe in a few years she would be at the level to make progress but as it was she was sure that the most that she'd manage to produce was a silver wisp. It would be a START, however, and that was enough for her at the moment.
Forest owlet? That was a species she had never heard of before. "Are they common? I only know of the ones like Barnaby - my owl - and the snowy ones." Birds were something she didn't exactly research but Juno had a snow owl. Needless to say Esme avoided it like the plague.

Was the other girl shy? This was the first thing Rachel wondered because she spoke so quietly. She was sure she was another Ravenclaw because how often had Rachel seen her around in the common room and classes? A lot of times was the answer. "Hello, Elora. I'm Rachel and this... this is Sebastian.'' She smiled and held up the stuffed crab. Elora may or not recognise him but it was best to do an introduction.
"If you are sure I would not disturb you, then I would like to.'' The girl moved into the Treehouse then took a seat, the many pillows surrounding her. "I see you're preparing for exams already. Do you need someone to quiz you? If you do sometime, I can always help.'' In this way, both parties would be studying in a way. It was for this reason Rachel enjoyed quizzing her friends.
It was time. Time to star gaze. After all the work Kelly had done today, she deserved relaxing time. The day definitely didn't have enough hours to learn kickboxing, play piano, do mood boards and read about astronomy. The blonde had exhausted herself.
Thankfully, no matter what the stars would be shining brightly soon. Maybe today was the day she'd find new star signs. Maybe today was the day she'd make a earth shaking discovery. Who knew?!
Climbing up the ladder to the tree house the girl peeked inside. No one was here. Oh well, not sharing her food and her blanket had its advantages too. As she sat down her bag Kelly took a moment to breathe in deeply. Tonight, she would sleep here.
Taking her blanket out of her bag the fourth year spread it out on the floor and plopped down on it with a loud "AAAAAAHHHHHHH".

Elora's face lit up when she saw Sebastian. She recognized him immediately. " From the Little Mermaid?" she asked. She thought back to watching princess movies with her sisters growing up. What she wouldn't give to have them with her here now.

Rachel smiled broadly. Here was someone who knew who Sebby the Crab was. "The one and only,'' she replied as she hugged the stuffed toy close. For some reason, she had always been drawn to the crab. After Ariel, he was her favourite character from the franchise. "Would you like to hold him?''

Nod. It was a good thing that Hady had said that, because Esme was eager to work on the spell NOW. Normally she didn't get so impatient for things, but it wasn't her fault when she had seen for what felt like the millionth time just how cool Patronuses were. "Maybe I should practice now!"
Putting aside the owl talk - thank Merlin for THAT - she scratched Hagan behind the ears some more. Poor kitty might have thought that she had forgotten about him. Really she hadn't, the fox had been rather distracting was all.

"What's a Cappy-Bara!?" Torrance called down to here asking questions about her threat rather than feeling threatened by her threat. "Never mind that!?" he yelled down once more.
If this prefect would make good on her threat to turn him into an animal, perhaps he could use her? "Is a Cappy-Bara a bird? Can you turn me into a bird? I want to Fly, rather than fall!" Though the thought of making the ground cushiony on his impact with it still made him curious. How cushiony can the ground get? Does it become softer if the fall is farther? Uncle Julien would be proud of his brain right now if he saw how muchThe Little Lion was Ravenclawing right now.
"I have an Idea!!!" He yelled down to her once more. "If I jump! Will you turn me into a bird mid fall!?!?"

"Give it a go it certainly couldn't hurt any," Hady encouraged with a nod of her head. Practice was going to need to happen and a whole lot of it if Esme really wanted to learn to cast a corporal one. Starting right this very minute wouldn't be a big deal and plus she was here to help give her friend some pointers should she need any.
The head petting and ear scratches got Hagan's attention and he opened up one eye peering up at Esme lazily. Flopping onto his side his tail flicked back and forth in a happy manner while he soaked up all the love he was getting.

Staying out after curfew was probably against the rules. Hence there being a curfew in existence, but Dalton wouldn't worry his head thinking about that kind of thing. The fourth year wouldn't worry his head about anything as a matter of fact. If he'd even noticed a curfew in place then there would be room for surprise indeed. He liked the grounds at night, the darkness and the lack of people were things he found pretty... Well, comforting, for want of a better word.
"Oh."
Pulling himself into the treehouse quietly, he was fairly surprised to see someone else already up there. Although he wanted to be alone, he was stubborn enough that he was not going to turn around a leave again. Besides, the girl seemed to be... Sleeping? Eh. He shrugged and flung himself into the corner, not cautious of any noise he was making.

The encouragement that Hady gave was more than enough for Esme. Happily she took out her wand and held it at the ready. The wand movement and incantation were all too familiar to her so there was no question of needing a refresher. Besides, Hady had performed the spell just moments before. "Okay, here goes nothing... EXPECTO PATRONUM!"
Hmm. Maybe she needed a happier memory because nothing happened.
Sighing, she gave Hagan some more scratches. "You would love nothing more than constant pets from us." She giggled.

Hady sat back resting against the wall of the tree house. Sitting there quietly she gave Esme an encouraging smile. Chances were the younger girl wouldn't succeed in casting anything on her first try but it was always best to be positive cause one just never could know for sure. Sadly nothing at all happened but that was alright. "Don't worry about it! Just keep trying and really make sure you can picture that memory like you're reliving it all over again." She was sure her friend would get it sooner or later.
"He would. If we could sit here all day everyday doing nothing but petting him he'd be the happiest cat in the universe," Hady laughed.

Elora's face lit up. This girl loved Disney too! Finally! "I would love a large library! That would be fantastic." This girl was definitely one Elora could see hanging out with more often.
"I would escape into movies and books growing up. My sisters and I loved the princesses! I'm partial to Belle though. What about you?" Most people knew nothing about the princesses around here. Elora found it refreshing to have someone else to talk to about her childhood loves.

Scarlett had been going stir crazy in the castle for the past few weeks, but now that the weather was starting to get nice again, she could FINALLY venture outside again! She could stretch her legs, and feel the breeze on her face - and it reminded her that summer was just around the corner. Before she knew it, she'd be done with a WHOLE YEAR of Hogwarts. She'd be a second year! She couldn't believe how fast time had flown by! Before she knew it, Clay would be here too, and then she'd be GRADUATING and she'd have to find a real job...
Lost in her thoughts and humming slightly to herself, she approached the treehouse and headed up the nearest wooden ladder, finding a nice little perch to sit in and hang her legs off the side of as she peered out at the lake. Hogwarts was gorgeous. It was a nice change of pace after leaving in London all her life.

Ariadne had been out roaming the grounds when she THOUGHT she saw Scarlett climb into the treehouse. She couldn't be sure, but there was only one way to find out---SHE WAS GOING IN! She was honestly curious if Scarlett had gone back home for half a year or something, because Ariadne hadn't seen much of her all term. Then again, she had been busy with classes. Scarlett could have been here all along, and Ariadne had just missed seeing her.
Reaching the treehouse, Ariadne climbed up and took a look around. "Hey, Scarlett!" she said, spotting her Hufflepuff friend. "I thought I saw you come up here. Hope you don't mind the company." Who knows. Maybe she had come up here to get away from it all. "I feel like I haven't seen you in such a long time. Where have you been?"

Failure could really make it hard for a person to remain confident, but Esme wasn't about to give up so easily; especially when it was something that she really wanted to do. It wasn't as if she hadn't told herself that the chances were that she wouldn't master the spell until Sixth Year - if at all. The Hufflepuff was a realist to the core and nodded in appreciation at Hady's reassurance. Time for try two of today and she had no idea how many it would take before she called it a day. What she really needed was a better memory but she wasn't sure how to go about doing that...
"What kind of thing should I be thinking about?" Clearly Esme had been going about this whole thing in a way that she shouldn't have been but she knew that THIS was the aspect of the spell that was truly challenging. She was far from alone in facing this problem.
SNORT. "Sorry, Hagan. Unfortunately we have to go to classes." Giggle. "There are times where I think it would be great to have no worries in the world the same way that our pets don't." Really she wouldn't trade her life for anything though; she liked who she was.

That was a tough question. Her memory shifted some since she had first cast the charm. It had gone from a memory of her parents to a memory of Frankie. What worked for her most likely wouldn't work for her friend. "It really goes by what makes you happy. It could be family or friends or even a pet. Might be the first time you visited a place you really love. When you're able to see it in your mind like you're there all over again, feel the atmosphere around you then you'll know." It was hard to explain when you had that right memory you knew it.
Hady laughed softly in agreement. "It would be nice to lay around all day and do nothing sometimes but I think after so many days in a row I'd grow really bored with it." She was one of those that liked to keep busy as often as she could.
