Several comfortable looking black leather sofa chairs await you in the small nook outside of Professor Flamsteed's office. The walls are bare save for a framed magazine cover and a large map on the wall opposite of the sofa chairs. Since the Astronomy professor keeps his door shut at all times, you will need to knock if you wish to speak with him. You could try to remove the protective charms placed on the door and break in, but that would not be very wise on your part as you would walk away with lime green eyebrows that won't fade for days and hair growing out of your ears down to the floor. While you wait to be invited in, why not read the latest issue of one of the many astronomy magazines stacked neatly on the wooden coffee table? StarDate Observer or Meteorite Mementos anyone? Do be careful as you take a seat, though. Despite the valiant efforts of students last term you are likely to walk away with a sparkly pink bum thanks to some left over glitter wedged between the cushions.

OOC: Please post in this thread FIRST, by having your character knock on the door. When the professor is ready to invite you in, I will post here letting you know and then you can post in the office. You may RP with friends here, but please try to keep the chit chat to a minimum. Thank you!

Thomas had one thing on his mind going to talk to Professor Flamsteed he had visited his Uncle who loved astronomy and while he was there he had told him quite a bit and now he couldn't stop thinking about the subject and all things like that. So now he was curious which is why he found himself in front of Professor Flamsteed's office. With a giddy smile he knocked on the door.

While waiting he turned to look at the surroundings of the office. Sitting down he looked at the magazines, after flipping through some of them he stood up and stared at the poster of Professor Flamsteed. Woahh cool... He moved on and this time the poster that his eyes laid upon his mouth fell open, now that was cool.

And Pebbles, well, she was on his person. As always. Not letting her out of his sight!

"Mr. Windsor, good day," he greeted the Gryffindor with a salute. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"

They were a few days into term and the only thing Sha still had on her “to-do” list was to talk to Professor Flamsteed. So, here she was. Walking to his office to see her Head of House, the Gryffindor thought over what she wanted to talk to him about and wondered if he would be proud of her… potentially a stupid thought since he had a lot of children under his care… but there was a reason he was their Head of House…. right?

Nervously, Marsha raised her hand to knock on the wooden door. As she waited for him to answer her - if he was even here, it was after dinner - she looked around the waiting room and she smiled a little as she remembered turning the far wall red for her Charms homework. Oh, Colorvaria… Grinning, she fingered the handle of her wand and considered doing it again in the name of Gryffindor and house Pride… but figured Professor Airey had had enough to deal with in the short time they had already been back at school.

"Miss Hanover," he greeted after opening the door. "What can I do for you?"

Penelope had cookies for Professor Flamsteed, and she had brought her pet rocks along with her. This would not just be a cookie delivery, however. She needed to have a very serious discussion with the professor about the actions of Blaise Bellaire and Bentley Moore. It seemed those two were intent on bothering the prefects. First the cookies. Penelope knocked on the door of Professor Flamsteed's office. He would usually come for cookies.

Thomas hadn't heard Professor Flamsteed come up behind him so when he suddenly heard a voice behind him he screamed and slammed himself into the postered walled. Realizing what he had just did he coughed a couple times rubbed his head and whipped around to face the Professor.

"Sorry you had to see that." He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.

He gave the professor a salute back and said, "Well I wanted to talk to you about well astronomy." Very vague he was. Ahem still quite embarrassed about what had happened before.

He could smell it. The unmistakable aroma of BAKED GOODS.

Dropping everything he was doing - well, not literally considering the man's desk had to be tidy and organized to his standards at all times - he left his research and frolicked over to the door and swung it open at once.

"I thought it may be you waiting out here, Miss Wright," he greeted the prefect. "Come in for some tea so we can enjoy those?" Yes?

He did stop, however, to adjust the framed magazine cover of himself that had become a bit off kilter thanks to the boy's head slamming into the wall. Once each angle was back to a perfect 90 degrees, and a ridiculously long lull in conversation while the man fussed to get the frame there, he turned his attention back to the young man.

"Oh, certainly. I was just about to head back into my office for a spot of tea which pairs perfectly with a discussion on astronomy." he replied, pushing open the door to his office and nodding his head inside. "Come on in."

Yes, she knew that Professor Airey’s help would be invaluable and amazing. She had seen the help he had given Zander and Puck last year… now it was her turn.

”And to ask for your help.” Yes. That. Maybe, please? She gave him a small, nervous smile…. silently wondering why she was so nervous. She adored Professor Airey.

Daxton tried not to make a habit of visiting teachers. He was not much one for casual chats - actually, it would be more accurate to say that Daxton did not know how to partake in small talk or any conversation without a specific purpose - and after having a request denied in his first year by one professor in particular, it made him particularly reluctant to visit any others unless he was specifically requested to do so. Yet here he was, outside Airey Flamsteed's office, unbidden.

Needless to say, Daxton was barefoot and without school robes. He lingered for a moment after entering the seating area, eyeing the door to the office, but ultimately avoided the office door entirely and crossed to a different section of the room without knocking at all.

More specifically, he crossed to where the only wall decorations in the room hung. Daxton stared at the magazine cover for a moment, but his attention was soon taken by the large map, which was undoubtedly more interesting. A map of the universe. It intrigued him that such a map existed, so while he waited for Airey Flamsteed to either leave or arrive at his office and discover him waiting here, Daxton took the time to closely study it.

Professor Flamstead said at the meeting that he needed to see Hope later. Well it was later and Hope wanted to just get this out of the way. She slouched against the wall waiting for him to arrive.

She didn't like feeling like she was in trouble. As her brother said, she was a goody tea shoes. She fidgeted as she waited. Hoping it wouldn't be too much longer because she just couldn't wait to get this out of the way. It was making her nervous.

It wasn't too common for him to be standing in front of a teacher's office door, but they weren't particularly for any bad reasons; except maybe the smell of his bed. This was his head of house's office door though, which made all the difference. He was as nervous as a herd of hippogriffs for whatever reasons.

This wasn't a bad visit! At least, he had to keep reminding himself.

The young lion did put on his red knight hoodie over his uniform though, to give that extra boost of confidence, but it didn't do much. Wiping his sweaty hands on the sides of the material, he reached up and knocked.

Having completely lost track of time with his research, the astronomer was in GREAT and borderline DIRE need to relieve himself. Ahem.

Penguin walking towards the door and Pebbles under his arm, Airey swung open the door and was more than a bit surprised to see Mr. Prince standing there. Surprised...but not at the same time? It was a mysterious paradox.

"Mr....Prince," Airey greeted with a somewhat pained expression. "Good day...what can I...actually...could you wait here...for just a moment? I'll be RIGHT back."

Leaving the door ajar, the professor made his way down the hall and towards the loo.

Thankfully, he did not, although the moved she send his chair shooting backwards towards the wall with a blunt THUD.

That....had not been the sort of thing he had expecting. But any expectations he HAD had were gone right out the Astronomy Tower window.

"It was before your time here at Hogwarts, but we once had a groundskeeper who, before he had his soul sucked out by dementors, wore kilts all the time. The soul sucking completely unrelated to the skirt wearing, of course.

He got maybe half of that into his head on the first try? Not that he wasn't paying attention. It was just a lot. Especially the piece of information about a professor having his soul sucked out. WHICH certainly didn't happen at Hogwarts 'cause safest place ever and all.

Easy enough considering Mr. McWitty was still his pre teenager angst days and asking a question fueled by pure curiosity alone. Airey was unsure of what to make of the situation at present, but found himself mostly thankful that the boy had not come to him with REAL matters of teenage angst. Although career advice would have been preferred. Which reminded him that he did need to send out notices to fourth, sixth, and seventh year students soon about setting up meeting times...

"You're...quite welcome, Mr. McWitty," he saluted. Or at least he thought he was welcome. The giddy bouncing DID have the man a bit concerned. "Was...that all then?"

Just the discussion on skirts?
