"It does rock!! Azura said with a smile that no one could see. "Though, I don't think I'll use it that often, due to the fact that if I hurt myself! No one would be able to see me." Because, that would be awful if she broke something..
And was invisible?
She shivered a bit and shook her head! Nope! That wasn't happening!
Austin needed help, that was for certain. But not the mental kind that his father jokes about. He needed help in Defense Against the Dark Arts. Defending himself with a wand, conjuring strong attack spells, the whole nine yards. So why did he decide to help out Azura with her dueling spells? The fact that she was in the dueling club showed that she knew more than him. Sure, there were a few spells that he could probably teach her. But past that... well let's just say he wasn't comfortable with his abilities.
Nonetheless, he told the Room, well thought to the room that he needed a place to fight. Or at least practice. It had given him a room similar to the DADA practice room. There were dummies along the back wall, and the floor was made out of mats. This was really not his idea of fun.

Azura was still feeling rather down about the whole dueling club. Not only had she let Haddie get hurt, but she has passed out! Thankfully no one had seen that, even her team barely seem to notice. But she was determined to be prepared for the actual duels!
And to do that, she needed higher level spells! And she needed to learn them properly, so she wouldn't use up her energy!
So she had asked as many older kids as was possible to help her and the charms professor, but she hadn't heard back from him yet!
She walked into the Ror and smiled warmly as she saw Austin already there!
"Hey Austin! Thank you so much for helping me!" she said with a warm smile up at the older boy.

Austin looked down and gave a shaky smile. "You're more than welcome." He wanted, more than anything, to tell her there wasn't anything he could do. The one class he had issues with this year was DADA, and no matter how many classes he went to, there was always something that went wrong. That probably had something to do with the fact that many classes this year focused more on defense without spells. Which was even worse than when they had spells. He was tall, yes, but he didn't have the muscle tone some of the other students his age did.
Running a hand through his hair, he tried to figure out what to do first. Safety wasn't an issue, so he didn't have to worry too much about that. The floor was made out of a mat-like material, and he wasn't planning on teaching anything too rough. She was a first year, so there were some things he could teach her. There were basics like Stupefy or Expelliarmus, which were spells that Austin knew. But he wasn't sure how to teach them.
"Is there anything you had trouble with when you were in the dueling club?" Learning what she knew seemed like the best place to start.

Azura smiled up at the taller boy as she looked around the room and then back at him.. "Well, I was a defender in dueling club and I had to protect my team, but it seemed like spells went through my sheilds like they weren't even there..
And I tried to cast "Avis" But it was too hard for me.. and I lost too much energy and I passed out.. I don't think I did it correctly, I just wanted them to take the hit for me!" She explained softly as she tugged on her hair a bit, her purple eyes staring off as she remembered Haddie falling over.. She still felt bad about that.
"So that was just defense spells! I didn't even do any attacking spells.. I don't know any of those actually, Stupefy and Expelleramus.. aren't spells we are learning this year.. So I'll need some help with those and any other attacking or defense spells you know that might help me out." She said with a nod..
Obviously practicing by herself wasn't working so well.

Austin pondered for a minute. He decided to create a list, similar to a potions recipe. The first step would be to work on her defense. If that's what she had done in practice, then she was more versed in that than anything else. "Let's start with defense then." He walked over to the center of the room, and motioned for her to do the same. As long as he didn't have to deal with dummies, or being attacked, maybe this wouldn't be so bad.
"The one thing you should remember, is to use the spells you do know. If you're ever in battle, it's easier to use spells that you can rely on, than risk something new." The words coming out of his mouth, shocked even him. He hadn't been that great at Defense Against the Dark Arts, and would be bad in a duel; hence not signing up for the club. But hopefully that didn't show too much.
"Why don't you show me what you did during the club? Don't cast any spells yet, just sort of go through a step by step."

"Use the spells I know. Got it." She said softly, well she could use protego at least.. "That was probably my problem, I used a new spell and it drained my energy." She said softly.
[b]"Hmmm, well, we were all paired up.. or rather in groups.. there were defenders and attackers and I was a defender, So.. at first I cast shield spells like Protego and Salvio Hexia." She said as she slowly made the wand movements.
"I don't think they worked super well though." She said softly.

Perhaps that was the difference between a Hufflepuff and Gryffindor because he personally would have talked about it to anyone how he had saved people. Actually, he sometimes had to refrain himself from telling anyone that he helped rescue the other students and headmistress from the forbidden forest. It was hard. “Yeah…” he said, not looking at her but at the wand in his hand. “I was in the entrance hall when the acromantulas attacked… if it hadn’t been for him pushing me away I would have been taken away as well…perhaps killed” he frowned, he had never thought about that it like that. He smiled a second later however. “So yeah, seriously” he laughed. “Wait…Lux was in Hufflepuff wasn’t she?” he asked. He vaguely remembered her from classes
Pocketing his wand back in his wrist holster as he had practised enough for today, Yoongi looked up in surprise when she asked if he could give her some advice now. “Yeah…of course, what do you need to know?”
The Gryffindor grinned proudly after he had caught the book in mid-air and then laughed out loud when Hady told him he was a show-off. “Can’t help it, once you go non-verbal you don’t want to go back”
Looking down at the book, Yoongi sighed. “Being Head Boy is intimidating?” he asked, trying very hard not to roll his eyes. “Honestly Hady, people are not intimidated by me or my badge…if they were they wouldn’t keep doing things in front of my eyes” like holding a food fight, stealing pans from the kitchen or insulting him. “I do have to agree I’m smart though” he laughed. But then he stopped laughing. She had called him good looking.
A blush appeared on his cheeks. He loved compliments like this but sometimes they could be a bit embarrassing. He preferred praising his looks himself. “I…ok you win” he said.
Hady was silent as Yoongi explained that he had been in the entrance hall that day last term and how Adi had pushed him out of the way. Way to go big brother! She knew Adi wouldn't go around bragging about this which is why she was sure she didn't know but the small that came across her face was a nice one. Totally proud of her puffer bro and the fact that Yoongi was indeed alright and standing before her as proof. "At least you're both alright." That was the most important thing. "Uh-huh. A red-headed badger."
"Anything you can tell me. Is there like anything I should or shouldn't do?" Whatever would help her get the hang of it faster.
Hady laughed softly. "I bet I'll feel the exact same way once I'm able to." This would be something she would have to get working on and very soon at that.
Shrugging her shoulders the fifth year glanced around the room before her hazel eyes turned back towards the older boy. "I don't know. Sometimes people find others that are in a higher position then themselves intimidating." Really though, what all did she know? His agreement to him being smart though made her laugh quietly only she stopped when he had. The redness in the form of a blush that formed on her friends face made her feel like she had said something wrong for a moment only she hadn't. "Oh? What do I win?" she teased grinning sweetly not even mentioning what she had admitted seconds before.
Atleast they were all alright... "Yeah" Yoongi said vaguely as he looked around the room. He felt bad though. Adi had saved his life and in return he had run away. Of course he had gotten a professor but it felt like he had left him behind. The only person who knew about his true feelings during that time was Norah. And he liked to keep it that way. So instead of saying anything else about it, the Gryffindor smiled. "And is Adi the one who teached you the patronus charm or Lux?"
So it seemed that the student turned in to the teacher now that she was asking about non-verbals. Yoongi pocketed his phoenix wand back in its wrist holster and crossed his arms over each other. He then remembered that they were in the room of requirement and that Hady had said that the room gave everything you needed. He thought of a small pebble rock and after thinking about it a couple of times, it was on the floor in front of his feet. "Why don't you try summoning this rock towards you?" he asked. "Non-verbally of course" he first wanted to see how far she could get without any help.
And then the Gryffindor laughed when she teasingly asked what she had won. He winked and pointed at his face. "You get to watch this pretty face a little longer, isn't that an amazing award?" that was, if she wanted to stick around and practise non-verbals of course. Her choice.

There really wasn't much more to be said about that situation that didn't bring up memories of giant spiders trying to kill her and everyone else. When Yoongi changed the topic Hady was more then happy to go along with it. "Both of them did somewhat. I had mentioned to Lux I was having trouble and she explained to me how she was able to cast one which helped me get a memory in place. Adi actually spent a day with me showing me how to cast one and didn't let me quit until I was able to." Duel teamwork really. She was positive if it hadn't of been for her big siblings she would still be trying to learn to cast one.
Hady watched as a small rock appeared before the older boys feet curiously. Before she could even ask the point of it, it was explained to her. Summoning the rock to her was easy...she had done it many times before. Out-loud. This was going to be harder. With her wand in her hand she looked at the pebble thing between them. "So I just focus really hard on what I want and tell it what to do inside my head?" Same thing as when casting any charm just inside her head and not out-loud, yeah?
The reply she had gotten got a small laugh out of her and she grinned up at him. This was fine by her as she knew who he liked and she already had a boyfriend herself. Nothing wrong with a bit of playful teasing though.

Austin watched as she made the wand movements, keeping a close eye on the small things. The way she held her wand, the way she stepped, any indication that something might be off. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary, though. "Everything seems to be right..." He let his voice trail off as he thought. Thinking back to his own DADA experiences, he wondered what might be the issue. If her spells weren't strong enough, then maybe it wasn't the way she was doing them, but the manner in which they were casted.
"I know when I'm having trouble making a spell work, it's usually because I'm not confident in it. Your wand is a part of you, kind of like a pet." Although pet seemed like a downgrade from what it actually was. "It can tell when you're not feeling like yourself, and your spells will suffer because of it."
At this point, he pulled out his wand from his leg holster. "You need to believe that you can do them. Be confident in yourself, and your abilites." He was way better at giving advice than taking it himself. Austin always had trouble when it came to spells like these. He could do small ones, but anything major was a struggle for him. "Okay, I'm going to try and disarm you, see if you can stop it."
Mossy on the other hand was trying the spell and looking frustrated. Poor Mossy. "You can do it Mossy!" Haddie shouted encouragingly. "You got this!"
The girl... the girl saw that she was struggling and... called her Mossy AGAIN...
NOPE.
Katherine knew better than to glare at the empty space. She also knew better than to answer. She bet the girl had called out so that she could make fun of Katherine. Well, no! Katherine just looked at her wand angrily and thought it out: she could either practise the stupid spell here and make more fool of herself, or she could just leave. If she left, she would be a loser... but she also didn't want to hear the stupid name 'Mossy' over and over again. She wasn't about to let the stupid girl encourage her.
This wasn't over. On the contrary, that girl would learn her REAL AND ONLY name.

"Expelliarmus!"
Azura listened to Austin as he spoke and she sighed.. That did seem to be her problem, she was always so thrilled when she was able to do a new spell! She needed to be confident in being able to do it before hand! "I'll keep that in mind. And you are right." She said softly. "I'm not confident in my spells." Or herself, but that wasn't part of this lesson!
She nodded, her wand could tell when she was off hmm? Well Today wand, we are going to be all right! She smiled as she looked down at it before watching Austin as he pulled out his wand!
Fwoopers! She was going to have to stop Austin's spell!
Her purple eyes went wide, but she remembered what he taught her.
"All right! I will do that!" She hoped at least! She held up her wand, and watched as he cast his spell!!
"Protego! She called out as she held her wand in front of her and Austin's spell bounced right off.. It didn't get reflected back to him, but she didn't care!
"All right! What else you got for me?" She said with a warm smile.

"Nice job!" He was happy for her. Although this was going to bite him later if they ended up dueling in the tournament. Which probably wouldn't happen since their years were so far apart. But he wasn't sure. It was his first year after all.
"Next, there are more ways to deflect a spell than just a shield. You could move out of the way, or use a spell to counteract it. Try using something else this time." Again, Austin was surprised at the words coming from his mouth. Turns out he knew more about DADA than he thought. "Levicorpus!"

Azura smiled happily at Austin as he congratulated her and she nodded. This was actually getting fun! And less pressure than an actual duel! Though his next words had her purple eyes going wide!
"Block it with another spell?" Would any spell work? Or move out of the way? Yeahh,, fat chance her balance would let her do that!!
EEEKKK!!! He was fast! Azura put her wand out and called out "Flipendo!" Was that going to work??
Ohhh!! Ohhhhh!!!
And just like That, Azura was up in the air.. .
"I don't think that worked." She said with a sigh. [/color]

Austin, who wasn't expecting the counter spell, went flying to the air. He landed on the ground with a loud THUD, the air knocked out of him. The first thing to cross his mind was that he needed to watch out for those counter spells.
Looking across the room, he noticed that Azura was in the air. "Oh man, sorry about that. Liberacorpus." Maybe he wasn't going to be a great teacher after all. Especially if his way of explaining things got people strung up in the air. He sat up and leaned back against his arms. "Actually that was right. And in a duel, that would be the perfect counter action. I should have explained better. I just meant find a different way of protecting yourself, such as jumping out of the way, or using the arena around you to your advantage." Was that any better?
He stood up and brushed himself off. "But you didn't do anything wrong. Like I said, in a dueling situation, that would have been perfect." He picked up his wand, trying to think of what else to do. "I'm actually going to try Levicorpus again. When faced with this spell, you can actually use Liberacorpus to counter attack. When the two spells hit they should just cancel each other out."
Taking a deep breath, he pointed his wand at her. "Levicorpus!"

“Sounds like they are good friends” Yoongi said, sounding a little bit jealous. He never had friends like that, sure he liked and knew people but no one had ever offered to help him out. Perhaps it was because he had the ‘I don’t need help’ vibe around him? But even the Head Boy needed help from time to time. And Hady was the first person to do so. Ilia tried to help him get over his fear of heights but Hady had been first to offer. “I get the feeling you learned not to be a quitter” he grinned. He liked those kind of people. “If Adi didn’t let you quit that easily while training then you’ll have no problem performing non-verbals one day. Concentration and persistence is the key to non-verbals” he laughed suddenly. “Which is funny that I couldn’t make a patronus but I can do non-verbals”
The Gryffindor nodded his head, taking out his phoenix feathered core wand out of his wrist holster again. “The technique is simple” he said as he pointed his wand at the rock and it flew towards him without him having said a word. He threw it on the ground in front of them again. “Do not just say the incantation but concentrate on the rock, actually see the rock fly towards you in your mind” he said, taking a seat on the ground and crossed his legs to sit indian style. "Try it"

SPOILER!!: Yoongi
"Try it"
Hady smiled lightly nodding her head. "They are." Lux and Adi were both amazing friends. Friends were important to her. You look out for her and she'd look out for you. That's how Hady did things. "I'm not able to be a quitter. My father taught me that when I was really small. It's best to always try then to not try at all." Her fathers words right there. She laughed as well shaking her head. "Ah, a patronus though takes a very strong memory and the ability to hold onto that memory as well as focus."
Watching the Head Boy closely as he very easily preformed the non-verbal spell she smiled. Gosh he made it look like it was nothing at all. "So it's the same thing as when speaking a spell just not out-loud." Got it. Holding her wand tightly she pointed it at the rock that sat on the floor between then. Focusing on it, seeing it fly towards her Hadleigh tried to summon it to her wordlessly.
Nothing happened. It didn't even wobble. So she tried again. And again. And again all with the same result. Nothing.
Letting out a huff her eyes flicked towards Yoongi. "What am I doing wrong?"

A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
As Yoongi sat on the ground, he listened to Hady speak. So her dad taught her not to be a quitter? Well, It was something a lot of parents taught their children, including himself. But not many actually kept the rule. It was nice to see someone else had that mind set. He didn’t say anything but only smiled and nodded.
His non-verbal skills might look easy to someone who didn’t have experience in it. And although he managed to perform it easily now, he too had to train a lot before he able to even do a simple aguamenti charm. He had practised during his homeworks, some of them had been together with Hady. He remembered practising for Charms in his fifth year and he had only been able to use the non-verbal once. It also helped that the dueling club had started, he had a motivation to keep practising that way.
The Gryffindor watched as the Slytherin attempted to try the summoning spell as well without talking. Her concentration looked good, he could see her thinking even by looking at her face. But it wasn’t a surprise when the rock didn’t fly towards her. It didn’t even move. It was frustrating wasn’t it?
What she was doing wrong? Yoongi shrugged. “Not many people are able to do it right away anyways, I was just curious to see if you would be one of the special people” guess he was wrong. But also glad to be honest. “But, just wondering….” He looked up at her and scratched the back of his neck awkwardly. “You DID say the incantation in your mind right” what? It happened to him once? He had been so busy visualizing that he had forgotten to say the incantation.

He had been so busy visualizing that he had forgotten to say the incantation.
The older boy sitting on the floor in front of her may not have said a word as she had spoken to him but she knew he was listening to her. For that he earned a small smile in return to the one he had given her.
With everything she had taken on this term and the previous it was odd that non-verbal spells hadn't been one of them. It was just the fact that on her list this hadn't made the top or even the top five. However when it had been brought up minutes earlier AND Yoongi was willing to offer his assistance Hady decided she might as well give it a go. She was positive this was something she wouldn't get instantly but would have to continue to work on and that was fine by her.
As she tried and tried and tried some more without anything happening it became frustrating. There was only a few things the fifth year truly had to work at and usually her charm work wasn't one of them. This was different though, it wasn't just doing the movements and speaking. No it was wand movements, visualization, focus and saying what she wanted, in her mind. A connection between herself and her wand. It wasn't easy.
After several times trying she looked down at her friend. One of the special ones? Why would he be curious about that. Hady wasn't special. She was...she was just Hady. Most things came easy to her but other things she really worked for. She gave him a light smile and a nod of her head though. "I guess I'm one of this average people that will need to keep working at it," she joked with a small laugh. Did she what now?!
Blinking down at Yoongi in puzzlement she thought of her form and what she had done during her trying to summon the rock. Had she for- No, no. She was sure she hadn't forgotten THAT.
"No, no I'm SURE I said the incantation. Positive of it. Should I just keep trying?" Of course she should. That was the only way she would learn.
