Directly below the Great Hall is the Hogwarts kitchen, complete with five tables identical to and directly below those of the Great Hall. Numerous house elves have returned and are busily working, always working, on the castle's next meal. They're surely willing to serve you a snack though, if you ask politely enough.
OOC: Please do not RP for the House Elves! We have a lovely group of actual elves who would love to RP with you if you will please be patient.
Hope loved cooking and baking. But especially baking. It was her passion. She saw a couple of other students cooking too, but she wanted to bake something for her cousin and bf. She had barely seen her bf lately.
Pulling a couple of bowls down she started mixing her brownie mix. Then she grabbed ores and another mixing bowl making the chocolate chip cookie dough her mum always used. Mmm it tasted delicious.
Pouring the cookie dough in a pan n smoothing it out, then lining the ores up and lastly pouring the brownie mix over the oreos. These were going to be amazing! Her stomach was growling just thinking about them.
She put the brownies in the oven and waited. Seeing a bench she turned the timer on that was on her watch and began to read.

Still looking around and finding all the little elfsies were currently busy at the moment she heard a voice coming from behind her. Turning around she smiled slightly at her older friend. "Hey Abby, it has been awhile. How are you doing?" With all the studying for OWLs and other projects she had taken on this term it was sometimes a little tough to keep up with people and the happenings going on around the school. Here and there though she found the time to do so or well she made time where it was needed...like now. A nice snack break.
Abby smiled at Hady and said "Yeah it has been a while Hady and i am doing good thank you, how are you doing, coping with OWL year" Abby felt for Hady because OWL year was tough after having gone through with it last term

Looking in the bowl, the dough looked to be a good consistency. "Want to make the cookies now?" He pulled out a small ball of the dough, rolled it in his hands, and placed it on a cooking sheet. Where it came from, he didn't know. Maybe a house elf placed it next to them? Who knew. "Now comes the real fun part. But don't push all the way through the dough." Austin pushed with his thumb about halfway into the cookie to make an indent. When he was content with it, he grabbed another ball of dough and began rolling.
"You'll have to show me when we get back to the common room." From what Austin knew about Herbology, he knew Cacti weren't that hard to take care of. At least it didn't need to be watered every day.
"Are you alright, Austin?'' Rachel had paused in her mixing when she noticed that glazed over look his eyes had gotten and she was concerned for him. But he seemed to have snapped out of whatever it was and was resuming their conversation. A younger sister would explain his patience. She giggled. "Are you like Grumpy the dwarf in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves?''
"Yes I do!'' The smaller Eagle excitedly put down the spoon she was using to mix to watch Austin roll the dough. "I think I've got it.'' She did exactly as her friend had done, scooping p some dough, rolling it, placing it on the backing sheet and then pressing down on it with her thumb. She ensure she had not pressed through completely. "Is that alright?'' As Austin was Head Baker, she needed to get his approval.
"Definitely! In return, you'll have to help me with Potions. Sometimes I get ingredients and their properties mixed up.'' So a little tutoring wouldn't be that bad for her as long as Austin didn't mind.

Carl walked into the kitchen, grinning. Visiting the kitchen had become like a routine. Every Sunday when he was hungry, he would come and grab a snack! His stomach was growling right now, indicating that a trip for some food was overdue. For a Hufflepuff, the kitchen was closer than the Great Hall and the food was even more delicious.
He greeted the house elves and looked around. This place was always welcoming, no matter how many times he visited. He sat down at a nearby table. Now, what should he get?

Noelle had been sitting at one of the tables trying to force herself to eat more than a few bites of food. Like Bastian had said, she needed her strength. Poking at her food, she had gone to looking around and people watching.
Seeing a younger boy come in, and sit close to her, Noelle scooted down the table to sit by him. "The pumpkin pastries are delicious. You can have my other of you want. I tried eating my first but not happening." of course this was in no to do with how good the pastries were, just how full she got so quickly.

Or maybe it was something worse. The pastry might be charmed so that he turned into an animal if he ate it. He had seen people turn into canaries after swallowing who knows what. Carl watched the food in his hand intently, wondering if he was about to transform.

The teen watched as Rachel pressed down into the dough. "Yea, that's it. Make the rest like that, and I think we'll have a great batch." He pressed into his dough, making sure not to press all the way through.
"I am more than willing to help with potions. Getting the ingredients right is difficult. But it's almost like baking. If you add too much sugar into a cookie, they'll come out wrong. It's all fallowing instructions in the end." He was sure she'd get it. If she was this great a baker, she was sure to get potions. They were very similar. At least that's what Austin always thought.

My aunt - " he began, then stopped. He did not want to offend his aunt, no matter how … horrible her cooking was. So the girl noticed that he was suspecting the pastry of having pranking abilities. "Of course. I mean, I was not being suspicious or anything." To prove his point, he took several more bites. Yummm. As for the reason why she did not eat much, he found it curious but understandable. "I can help you get your appetite back." He said.
Like, sometimes if he saw his friend stuffing himself with good food, he got the temptation to eat. It might work.

Now that had to be tough. Being in the same school and year as your sisters but not seeing them very often. Hady honestly didn't believe that she would ever be able to cope with that. She was very positive that if she had a sibling she would want to be with them as often as possible but seeing as she was already fifteen and her parents were no divorced chances of that happening were even smaller then before. "Oh, is everything alright?" Had something happened that had Abby keeping more to herself this term? Smiling she nodded her head, finishing her cookie. "It is. Snack breaks really do keep me going and get my focus back on the task."

"I think that's a wonderful way of explaining it,'' Rachel remarked earnestly. "What scares me is some of the ingredients we may have to use when brewing, especially spider related ingredients.'' She shuddered and pressed down on another piece of dough on the sheet. "Spiders are scary.''

"Well maybe they're both just busy with lessons and homework and stuff," Hady offered shrugging her shoulders just a little. That was very likely possible to be the case here but really she just didn't know for sure. Having no siblings she couldn't really know just how close they should be and to what lengths they might go to in order to see each other or talk. "Maybe you can plan something one day soon for the three of you or something." If Abby wanted to that is.

Smiling, she prepared the smaller piece of dough. Austin reminded her of her daddy. He would often pretend to be a prince in one of her pretend games. "Almost time for baking, I presume.''
The girl nodded vigorously. "I quite agree!'' Goodness! There were a lot of persons whom she knew were scared of spiders including Garreth. If she ever came across an acromantula, she was positive she would faint. "That is very good advice. The next time I have to brew a potion, I shall remember this.''

Austin chuckled at her curtsy. It looked like she had practiced a few times, which, in it's own way made her a princess. Didn't princesses have to practice that a million times a day? "Actually, yes! We just have to pop these in the oven for a few minutes so they cook a little first." He decided to be the one to use the oven, since he didn't want Rachel to burn herself. Not that she couldn't handle her way around an oven, but Austin, being older, had a bit more coordination. So, he opened the oven, popped the two trays of cookies in, and set the timer to seven-ish minutes. Just enough to get the baking started.
"So.." He grabbed two stools, and sat down on one of them. "Tell me more about these princesses stories. What other ones are there?" It was true that his sister would enjoy these tales. His younger sister was the princesses of the household, and if she knew about these stories, she would be on top of the moon. He decided he'd have to buy some for her to read.

Excellent. They would soon have some delicious treats to eat and Rachel could hardly wait to try these. She made a mental note to try the recipe out at home with her mother. They would forever remind her of Austin whenever she baked them but she liked this as the older boy was someone she liked very much. She watched him but the goodies into the oven then proceeded to help him clean up any spilt ingredients from the table. "I can't wait to try those,'' she told him with a smile.

She eventually married a human, a prince, called Eric but before that, she had lots of underwater adventures. I would tell you more but I don't want to spoil it for you.'' Rachel was very well aware that spoiling something was not accepted by everyone. "There is also Cinderella who lived with her step mother and evil step sisters. They made her do all the household chores and kept her from being happy but in the end, she too married a prince.'' She thoroughly enjoyed the adventures of the Princesses. "They do seem like they're going to be good. Plus, you were an awesome help." He was actually excited for these cookies. When he first came down to the kitchen, he only wanted to clear his mind. To get a break from his studying for his O.W.L.S. Little did he know he'd make a friend today.
"These all sound amazing. I really need to look into this. Especially for my sister." His sister was the princess of the house. If she knew there were stories of princesses, especially one that cleaned before becoming a princess, she'd go crazy. He could imagine it: she'd sit there in one of his baking aprons and sponge, scrubbing the floor. At least they'd get a clean floor out of it. "My sister's turning four at the end of the school year. Her name's Lucy." He gave a small smile. "Do you have any siblings?"
He glanced at the oven, checking on the cookies. Just a few more minutes now, and they could take them out and add the chocolate and marshmallows.
