Mentions of Garreth, Haddie, and Rachel; open to All. While not quite as instantly effective as the older girls' charms, Ailsa was making respectable progress with her own Scourgify efforts. Clean enough for a rural farm and clean enough for Hogwarts' grand dining hall, the firstie decided, were rather different. It wasn't that her family's little farm was dirty, as neither her mother nor her father would have put up with that, but there was unarguably a difference between 'functionally clean' and 'spotlessly shining'. A difference which meant she had to occasionally Scourgify twice where the older girls needed only once. Finishing up a particularly stubborn chair she glanced up to see Haddie and Rachel leaving the great hall. There was only the slightest of sighs as she focused her attention on the next chair. It wasn't strictly fair, of course, but lots of things weren't and her father had taught her to worry about whether she, Ailsa, was doing what she felt was necessary rather than about whether it was fair that the task fell to her. After all, fair or not, things were what they were and nobody ever got anywhere by sitting around complaining. In her focus on her task, she didn't notice Garreth coming back into the hall. |
