She finally managed to find her brother and her trunks before she had to broad the train. Thank Merlin for that if she didn't find him on time she might have to go to Hogwarts without her supply and that just a big no no.

And now, here she's standing in front of the Prefect Compartment. She didn't even think twice before she opened the door. It look like she's the first one here. Goodie. That mean she get to choose where she'd like to seat. Window seat you're MINE!

Ah. It feel so good to have POWAH!

Yoongi was positively beaming though it wasn't shown on the outside. His face was quite unreadable while he had been busy placing his luggage in the luggage compartment but his mind had been at the Prefects compartment.

And that was where he was now. In front of the closed door, pinning on his really shiny now as he kept polishing it Head Boy badge and a grin spread across his face at the thought of how Norah would react.

He opened the compartment door and entered, sliding it closed behind his back. Norah wasn't there..... boo! Sighing softly, Yoongi paid attention to the Prefect who was there. "Hi" he greeted and took a seat opposite her. "Congratulations" he grinned and pointed at her Gryffindor badge. He felt a bit awkward as he didn't really know Candice but that would change soon~

Alright, this was it. The Prefect's Compartment! Goodness....why was he suddenly feeling all giddy inside. "Holy Dragons...get a hold on yourself, Henric! Slap yourself if you have to!" he thought frantically. Goodness...he was feeling rightfully nervous. Remember to breathe...breathe....act cool! He straightened his tie and polished all of his badges including his Manchester United badge once more before opening the compartment doors to enter.

There were already prefects inside, he gathered. No problem...it would be rude not to introduce himself first. Oh wait! Was that Yoongi!? He saw the badge he was wearing from afar, woaahh.... Head boy?!! He couldn't believe it. "Hi Yoongi! Wow, you're Head Boy! Congratulations! And you must b-"he stopped short when he realised WHO was sitting oon the other side of the seat.

CANDICE?!!!!!!!?!!??!?!!?!?!!

WHAT WAS SHE DOING HERE? WHO INVITED HER IN?!

Was that a Gryffindor prefect badge she was wearing? Did she stole it from someone?! No...please...merlin....NOOO!

"Y-you...a-a P-PREFECT??!"he choked. He was going to hyperventilate at this point.

Candice was enjoying the prefect compartment for herself she hoped the other prefects will take their sweet time so that she could enjoy this sweet compartment by herself. But apparently lady luck was not on her side today, she heard someone was opening the compartment door and when she looked up, its Yoongi.

"Hello." Oh. Look at that Head boy badge. Suddenly Yoongi become more attractive in her eyes because that badge scream MORE POWAH! "Thanks. And congrats to you too, Head Boy!" What a lovely badge. "So are you looking forward for the new term?" Being a seventh year and a Head Boy, that must be fun.

Before she could asked another question to her housemate, the compartment door swung open indicate that someone was entering the prefect compartment. "NICOLEI?" Brows. "What are you doing here? Its prefects only." And was that a Prefect badge he was wearing? No way! "Where did you steal that badge? Give it back, the Hufflepuff Prefect must be looking for it." That poor guy. "And to answer your question. Yes, I am the New Gryffindor Female Prefect." She proudly showing her prefect badge to him. And not like him, she didn't steal her badge. Its HERS. All hers!

Yoongi smiled at Candice as she congratulated him back. "Thanks" was his reply and looked out of the window to view the passing scenery. "I guess so, should be interesting now we have these" he grinned as he touched the badge. "I can't wait to get in the Prefect's bathroom! I heard we have one now" his face lit up at the thought of having all the luxury for himself.

His thoughts were interrupted by the compartment door sliding open again and he saw Henric stepping inside. So he was Adi's successor huh? "Congrats to you too dude, i just told Candi---" but he couldn't go any further because he noticed that Henric was stuttering towards the Gryffindor Prefect.

Raising an eyebrow and watching the scene, Yoongi leaned back against his seat and looked interested. Were these two...you know? But didn't Henric have something with Ilia? He didn't speak for a moment. Perhaps they were always like this. Teasing each other. He did that with his sisters so he knew what it was like.

Until Candice boldly asked Henric from whom he had stolen the Prefect badge and he cleared his throat. "Please don't accuse someone of stealing when you have no proof" he said. Did that sound Head Boy-ish?! It did right? Eeek he loved this badge, it gave him more confidence than usual which was probably dangerous "Just...just sit down" he sighed.

Rooney had one intention of this train journey, to check on Miss Charlotte (and keep the secret of the fish he still had for her) and -- oh wait, that was two intentions. Well, the second was to see if Miss Sophie Brown, Head Girl of... Well, Head Girl of his heart... To see if she had decided to board the train and stay with him like he had only wished every single day of the beautiful summer that had passed. He had no interest in seeing if she had dragged her stupid boyfriend along and hoped that they had maybe broken up and she was here to profess her undying love for him, Rooney Alexander Bronwyn. The first.

He was a little unsure of going into the compartment, but decided that he would at least try his luck and run away if someone was scary enough. He opened up the door, sliding it his way and peeked his head around. "HELLO?"


.... OH GAHD. People. And not the person he needed.

................ Oh. New badges. Hmmmm..

Well second year was very nearly upon them but Bentley didn't much feel like spending the whole ride to Hogwarts in the company of his cousin and his friends. He wanted to sit with the older people in the special compartment.

It seemed he wasn't the only one with this idea as he ran into Rooney at the prefect compartment's door.

"Fancy running into you here Roon." He said as he snuck up behind the third year boy.

"Are you going in?" Because if he wasn't he wanted to pass him so he could get a seat inside.

Why was there a log-jam of students in the door? Thornton had arrived just outside the Prefect's compartment to find his way blocked by younger students. Clearly not prefects.

"Is there a problem?" he asked, clearing his throat as he stood behind them. The 'already?' was somewhat implied. Badge fastened to the front of his shirt, he was admittedly a bit nervous that he was going to have to either address a situation or ask the students to leave. It was going to be his.. first test as a prefect. But he let none of those nerves show, putting on the same stoic, straightforward expression and tone that he used at home whenever his father was particularly upsetting.

"If not, I'm going to need to ask you to move along."

So he could get into his compartment.

Wait what?

Bentley turned around then looked up into the face of a prefect...judging by his badge. He beamed.

"Well no not really...unless Roon here has a problem." He tapped on his legs for a few seconds like the fidgety first year that he was before stepping into the compartment so that the boy could get in.

He didn't want to block the door way of course.

The young lion waved and smiled at the others who were already seated.

*EYE TWITCHING*

*HEAVY BREATHING*

Merlin...his stomach felt like as though it had been turned through 360' degrees before being sucked out, leaving him empty with a HORROR-stricken face!

Great dragons above, had the world gone mad?! How could fate be so cruel to him?! What he had done to deserve such a nightmare?! Out of all the girls in the school, they could have chose someone who didn't have a troubled personality disorder like Candice Messer. Why...whyy....why HER? Didn't they realise she was going to reign terror in the school once she had that badge in her possession? Holy Hippogriffs...he feared for Hogwarts now...

No..no.. it just couldn't be!! Henric refused to believe it! He was convinced she stole that badge and lied to them so she could sit in this prefect compartment. Woah...wait...whhaaaat?! What did that wild girl say to him?! He scoffed. "Me?! You're accusing me for stealing!? This here is my own prefect badge. I've even got a letter for it. I have the right to be here, Messer!" He retorted. He was more than utterly shock, he felt downright betrayed too. How could they put her up as a prefect?! Did this mean he was going to work together with her?! Bleeghh...he shivered at the thought. Then Yoongi, now headboy, spoke up for him. Woah...good one. Thank you, Bro! "Yeah! Where is your proof? Huh?! HUH?" He narrowed his eyes while pointing an accusing finger back at her.

Henric turned his head towards the compartment doors. What were the two younger year students doing here? "Hey guys, you're looking for someone?" he asked, smiling politely. He knew Rooney of course, the little guy kind of had a thing for Brown..didn't he? Yeah, he heard pretty rumours going around school last term. It was hard not to miss.

Breathe.

She could do this. Moxley had selected her to represent the school as Head Girl. She might not have been Sophie Brown, in all the girl's wit and intellect, but she was worthy enough to replace Sophie Brown.

Patting her pocket self-consciously where her badge rested because she still wasn't ready to pin it to her robes yet, Tia stopped outside the Prefect Compartment where there seemed to be a gathering of young students along with Thornton Baines too. Was Thornton her co-prefect? He certainly seemed deserving of it; he was definitely wise and kind.

Smiling politely, the seventh year wedged herself inside the compartment, in time to hear a Hufflepuff (whom she knew from Adi was known as Henric) and a Gryffindor whom she'd met briefly at Floreans this Summer, arguing about their rights to be here. But they both clearly were wearing their respective house badges. Something she still was not wearing, so if anyone was to be questioned of their right to be there, they should be questioning her. Except that she had the badge tucked safely in her pocket with her letter.

"Hi," Tia said timidly. Ugh, someone give her a confidence potion, please? "Congratulations." She should leave. And hide under a blanket or something.

Norah hadn't meant to be late, she really hadn't. But when she'd boarded the train it'd been awfully hard not to be distracted by looking for Yoongi in every single compartment up and down the train, but he was nowhere to be seen. In a vague state of panic, 'cause what if he'd MISSED THE TRAIN (you could never be sure, some sort of hair disaster seemed like it could be considered a good cause for lateness), she stepped into the prefects' compartment and felt her jaw drop all the way down to her FEET. Or something like that, anyways.

"YOONGI?" He was HERE. With a Pref--no. With a HEAD BOY BADGE???? Norah STARED at him, still open mouthed until she reminded herself to close it, just to have it stretch into a huge smile. Head Boy. Well, of COURSE. He was perfect for it. The most perfect EVER, no offense Zander. Her heart gave a twinge at the reminder that Sophie Brown wasn't going to be here, but she ignored it on account of Yoongi being HEAD BOY, which obviously meant she needed to wiggle past everybody still standing to throw her arms around him in a big hug, before straightening up again. "Congratulations! This is the best news ever. Ever ever ever ever." She beamed at him, then sat down beside him to get a good look at everybody else in the compartment.

"Henric! Congratulations!" So thaaaat was her new co-prefect. Perfect! "This is gonna be TOTALLY awesome." Hufflepuff wouldn't know what hit it. "Congratulations to you too, Candice." That was her name, right? AND "Tia! The job is perfect for you. And you...Thornton?" Whew. If she'd forgotten the Ravenclaw's name it'd be a disaster. Thornton had to be right, though. She offered the two Ravenclaws a smile, then opened her mouth to congratulate the next...Rooney? "Hey Rooney," she said, more softly this time. "D'ya need something?" Oh merlin. Was it Sophie Brown? Was he looking for Sophie Brown? If he WAS there was a 74.6% chance that her heart would break right in half and she'd have to lie on the floor and groan in agony for the rest of the train ride. He wouldn't be wrong. Hogwarts without Sophie Brown was never going to be as good as Hogwarts WITH Sophie Brown. Norah shot Yoongi a worried look, but put on another smile as she watched the smaller Ravenclaw. That was part of the job, right? Hiding AGONY?

Penelope looked at the vial of confidence potion that was in her hand. She had brought it in case she decided that she needed it. Would she use it? No, she didn't need it, at least not yet. Maybe for the feast? No, she would be alright without the help of confidence potion. Penelope entered the prefect's compartment. Ravenclaw female prefect here. "Hi!" This year was going to be so exciting! She looked around to see who else was here. Yoongi! "You're a prefect?" Wait, that wasn't just an ordinary prefect badge. "Head boy! Congratulations!" Who else was here? Hufflepuff boy, Gryffindor girl, Tia... Wait, Tia? Penelope couldn’t see Tia’s badge, but she knew that whatever badge Tia had couldn’t be Ravenclaw female prefect. ”Tia! I’m the Ravenclaw female prefect, so that must mean you’re head girl! Congratulations!” Yes, we still have that confidence potion if you want some Tia. Norah was here! "Hi Norah!" Look who her co-prefct was! "Thornton! Congratulations!" Where were the Slytherin prefects? She knew that Dot was one of them.

"Are we supposed to patrol the train or something?" Maybe she should find that first year girl Azura to make sure her nose was still okay. Hello little boys who are not old enough to be prefects and shouldn't be here unless there's an emergency. She recognized one of them as Rooney, that adorable Ravenclaw boy. "Hello Rooney. Is there a problem?" If there was she should probably investigate and help with whatever the problem was.

This was supposed to be something he could get away with, but it clearly wasn't. FIRST, Bentley decided to show up and then the rest of the Prefects decided it was their time to arrive. Really?! Rooney just nodded to his friend, stuffing his hands into his pockets and trying to work out a way properly into the compartment. He really just wanted to sit in the compartment and deal with stuff. LIKE THE MAJOR WEDGIE HE HAD UNDER HIS JEANS RIGHT NOW. The major major major wedgie happening between his bum cheeks. W O W.

Uncomfortable.

Roo frowned though at the words of Thornt-- oh. Thornton had been given a badge. THE badge. Benzi's badge. For a moment, the third years lower lip wobbled and he messed with his hair out of distraction. But the low mood dissipated very quickly when the prefect spoke once more. A simple 'excuse me' would have sufficed, really. He could ask him to move along, but it wasn't likely that Rooney would right now. Rude. "I didn't quite like Benzi Rider, but I liked him better than you." And to make his point a little more, Rooney stepped inside the prefects compartment to interact elsewhere.

Soz, Prefect Baines, but not soz.



Aha. People he knew that weren't rude to him. Rooney smiled at Henric, giving a look at the badge that the Hufflepuff was wearing before giving him a BIG thumbs up and holding a hand out for a high five. "COOL, Mister Henric Nicolei!" It was cool. Rooney thought it was cool. Anything with a badge was pretty cool, especially when it was new. And that person wasn't RUDE about it. (YEAH, BAINES.) He turned his head and gave another smile to another Ravenclaw. "MISS TIA!" Oh, oh, she was prefect! --

That was a lie.

Rooney PEERED closely at the Ravenclaw and then he felt a pang of everything wrong with the world right in the pit of his stomach and in his heart and his chest and everywhere it could possibly be. "Congratulations, Miss Tia..." And then he turned away with every intention of just leaving.

He wanted to be out of here and get into a compartment and maybe cry a little. He didn't even have his mirror in his satchel so he couldn't get ahold of Miss Sophie Brown, but he KNEW she would be here. He knew she wouldn't miss the train, even if she had graduated. She loved Hogwarts, right? She loved him, right? That was when Miss Norah happened, and Roo attached himself to her side, holding onto his arm with complete intention of staying right beside her for the forseeable future. For the rest of his LIFE. "Miss Norah, where is Miss Sophie Brown?" He was so stupid for thinking that she'd feel bad about not being with him and find a way back.

Well then.

Thornton looked into the compartment, but it seemed that those inside were, well, dealing with their own situation, and Thornton certainly wasn't getting involved in whatever was happening with those two. He smiled briefly at Tia before blinking a little at Bentley.

"If you're not in need of a prefect, you're going to need to find another compartment." Straightforward, yes? To the point. Hard to argue with, he hoped. That had always been how Thornton operated; simple facts didn't need explanations or compelling reasons. They just were.

Except, Rooney seemed not to agree. "Well, that was exceptionally rude," he replied, again, keeping that calm, put-together tone, even as his confidence was crashing. He glanced over at Norah, hoping for a little bit of help, seeing as Rooney clearly wanted to talk to her. Hopefully her explaining that the prefect's compartment was not a free-for-all social zone would be better received. "Norah, hi," he said with a smile. "Thank you."

Turning to Penelope, Thornton nodded. "I think a walk down the train might be good," he said. "Want to come with me? We can go together."

Because... he suddenly wanted to be anywhere but here.

India had told her to meet the Prefects….and that was exactly what the pintsized brunette was going to do. She didn’t even care that the sign on the door said it was for badged people only…keep out signs only ever meant this place is cool, you should really go in…or that’s what she thought.

Pushing the door open she just looked around at all of the people. They were mainly older…most of them looked to be like thirty…no that wasn’t it…they were old though. Not Ol’wrinkles haggatha the haglady old but old none the less.

Smoothing out her name tag Mel stepped into the crowd. ”I don’t know what house I’ll be in so I’m intro…” she was being too quiet for the ruckus. Pushing further into the compartment she climbed onto the bench seat and stood there so they could see her because…she was short after all.

“HI! I’M MELBOURNE JOHANSON,” she practically yelled. “I was told to meet the student leaders…my student leaders…” she grinned, “I’m a first year.” She added. “And I don’t know who MY leaders are yet so I figured I’d come into your….corral and meet you guys” after all that was the smart thing to do. She smiled and even bowed at them all before jumping off of the seat and sitting down. Because it was a comfy looking place after all. She looked up at the people and then she saw Tia!

"TIA I KNOW YOU....your a badge person?" She grinned over to her...."congratulations on being a badge person...you really should have told me you were a badge person I would have said I was a first year and everything and..." she then spotted Norah and Candice and grinned "you guys have pretty hairs." Yep. She liked their hairs.

No no no no NO. Dot was just arrived, and it looked like Thornton was keen to leave. They were supposed to sit together and silently judge people as they passed their car. Okay, Dot was going to silently judge, and Thornton was going to be her better nature. He couldn't leave! She wanted to squish him first.

"Thornbird. Norah, my beauty." And other people that she didn't know very well, but recognized on sight. Candice and Henric and Penelope were fellow sixth years, and Yoongi and Tia were SEVENTH years and practically famous. And Rooney... was too short to be allowed in here. "Hey, Roo-roo. What are you doing in here? Come to give us hugs?"

Invasion of the small children who don’t actually have valid reasons to be in here! Why did so many younger students want to come see the prefects if there wasn’t some kind of emergency? It seemed that the Gryffindor boy (Bentley) had no reason to be here. "Please leave if there isn't a problem." Why was he still here? The firstie girl Melbourne just wanted to meet the prefects. "Hi Melbourne, I'm Penelope. I'm one of the Ravenclaw prefects." Now could Melbourne leave?

Oh Rooney. Still hoping that Sophie Brown was coming back. She would have to talk to him. ”Rooney, Sophie graduated last year. I’m a prefect and Tia is the head girl now.” Sophie wasn’t going to come back. ”Do you want to talk to me about anything?” Such as why he thought that Sophie would be here. Maybe when they were at school they could go for a walk somewhere quiet or get food in the great hall or something. If he wouldn’t talk to her he might talk to someone else.

With each person who shouldn't be here who came in here she was feeling more claustrophobic and increasingly uncomfortable. Oh good, an excuse to get out of this compartment that was quickly becoming overly crowded with younger students who shouldn’t be here. ”I would be delighted to walk down the train with you, Thornton.” Now to leave this crowded area to check the train for actual problems.

After buying some food, Hugo made his way to the prefects' compartment. Nice, huh? Yeah he was trying to get used to it. Anyways....

The fifth year opened the door and saw that everyone was already here. Even little kids. It looked like there were more of them this term. "What's up, everyone?" he greeted. But it seemed people didn't wanted to be in here. Thornton was on his way out, apparently.

Did he missed something?

Gulpin’ Gargoyles this was bad. He had thought that the verbal fight between Henric and Candice was innocent teasing but it turned out to be for real. Judging by how Henric nearly fainted on the spot from either anger or whatever emotion he was feeling. And it made Yoongi annoyed. Had they forgotten that it is HIS and the other Head Girl's job to control and keep an eye out for the Prefects? Because he was THIS close to performing the Langlock jinx on them both if they continued to go like this. They were Prefects for Merlin’s sake! Role models to the other students. If they could not control their …whatever issues they had with each other… he’d have to go to their Head of Houses to report it. And he would, mark his non-verbal words.

Because of Henric’s and Candice’s poor demonstration of being Prefects already, Yoongi was irritated and it didn’t go down when he realized a couple of younger students were entering at the compartment as. THIS.WAS.OFF.LIMITS.TO.NONE.PREFECTS. gaaaaaaah. If it hadn’t been for the new Ravenclaw Prefect to let some in he would have told them to go. And then the compartment door opened again. The Head Boy braced himself for another disturbance but it was just Tia. The girl who he had duelled against last year. “Hey Tia” he said and he was glad that his voice sounded normal. “Please tell me you’re my partner” because he couldn’t see a badge anywhere but why else would she enter this compartment?

Leaning back in his seat and keeping an eye on both Candice and Henric, he looked up in surprise when a familiar voice literally shouted his name and a moment later he was being hugged. Because his mind had been somewhere else, it took Yoongi a second to realize who the hugger was and when she pulled away did he unconsciously smile. “Norah! Thank you” he grinned, willing his face to stop burning.

As Norah sat next to him, the compartment door opened again and he saw Penelope entering. “Nope” he said with a grin as she asked if he was a Prefect. He was something far more powerful muwahaha. “Yuuup!” she got it right. “Thanks Penelope, congratulations to you too” he said, pointing at her own Ravenclaw Prefect badge. “You deserve it”

As Dot entered as well, he was suddenly reminded of the time he had used her name as a cover when Professor Myers had successfully guessed that he had a crush on Norah despite having said ‘a prefect’ ‘it could be Dot you know..!’was what he had said and he chuckled at himself, glad that none else could hear his thoughts. He gave a nod and smile at the Slytherin Prefect.

Oh merlin’s beard! More little kids entering the compartment. Couldn’t they say hello when they were at the feast or something? The room was getting smaller now. Luckily, it was at this time that Thornton suggested to patrol the corridors with the other Ravenclaws. Good. “Nice to meet you Melbourne” he said, smiling at her because he was a professional and didn’t show his true annoyance. “My name is Yoongi, I’ll be your Head Boy this year” he waved his hand a little.

As Hugo entered, the Gryffindor nodded his head at him as a form of greeting before turning to Candice. “Have you seen the other Gryffindor Prefect?” He did not like tardiness. And they had to patrol the corridors soon!

She was never really good with small talk. Crossed that she never really good with people. So she just nodded here and there when Yoongi was talking. But then the Head Boy mentioned the Prefect Bathroom. "Yeah. Me too. I'm dying to try it." No need to share a bathroom with regular people again.

Candice just smirked when she saw Henric reaction when she told him that she's indeed a Prefect. He looked like he just seen a ghost or just saw a Boggart. Wait. WHAT?! He got the letter? No way. Is this some kind of Hufflepuff joke or something from the Hufflepuff Head of House? Because its definitely NOT funny. And then Yoongi decided to act all Head boy-y asking about proof and all. So much for Gryffindor loyalty. Snort. She will get her proof. Just you wait, Nicolei. She just need to wait for the Hufflepuff Female Prefect to show up and ask her.

She heard some noise coming from the compartment door. She saw two younger students lingering there. Huh? Wasn't that Sophie Brown' little minion who passed out during the Herbology last term? Yup, definitely him. She want one of those too. Little minion. Where can she get one? She saw a Ravenclaw prefect (Thornton) already asking them to leave and then Henric decided to act like a good guy. PUHLEASE! Well, she's just going to sit here no need for her to interrogate the younger students, the Ravenclaw prefect already did a good job at that.

She was just about to enjoy the scenery hopefully that would take her mind of Henric being a prefect when another person barge in to the compartment. Oh. She know that girl. They met at the ice cream parlour this summer. "Hello. Tia, right?" That's her name, no? What's she doing here? She didn't see the girl wearing a badge. But before she could ask anything to Tia, someone else entered the compartment. Its Norah, the girl she had been waiting for, to confirm that Henric Nicolei' badge was a fake and she's followed by a Ravenclaw Prefect (Penelope). She heard Norah congratulated Yoongi for making the Head Boy and then Henric too. WAIT. WHAT?! This mean he didn't steal the badge? Its a real badge? That he's a Hufflepuff Prefect. NO WAY! So this mean she had to work with Henric? Suddenly being a Prefect not that fun anymore. She heard Penelope congratulating Tia for being a Head Girl. Oh. She's the Head Girl. "Congration, Tia. And to you as well, Penelope, is it?" She hoped she didn't mess up their names. Penelope was suggesting about making a round. "Yeah, sure. We could do that." She desperately need to get the hell away from Nicolei and making round sounds like a good idea.

Candice was about to leave the prefect compartment to do some round when another younger student entered their compartment. What's wrong with this younger students? Why they keep coming in here? And then she practically shouted her name. "Inside voice please, Melbourne Johanson." She can hear her just fine. "I'm Candice, Gryffindor prefect. Do you need anything? Are you lost?" The girl said she's a first year so she probably didn't know her way around the train. "I could show you towards the other students compartment if you want to." She was going to the round so it'd be like killing two birds with one stone. Was the girl just complement her hair? "Thanks. Yours are not so bad either." That's Candice Messer way to complement other people just fyi. And look who just arrived, The Slytherin prefects (Dot and Hugo). She gave both of them a 'Hello' nod. Her attention went back towards Yoongi when he asked her a question "Nope. You?" Well, are they going to do round now?

The other two didn't seem so bad though but they had gone and killed his vibe. If this was how meany faced the prefects were then perhaps he DIDN'T want to sit with them after all.

If Rooney wanted he could go ahead and do so but he wouldn't.

Bentley frowned at the girl who last spoke to him. "I don't like meany face people anyways."

Pulling his camera from his bag, he quickly snapped a pic, flash bright as ever and scurried past the newly arrived prefect people.

Blaise will have a blast writing about the mean overlords who he was sure were keen to fry their brains and eat them.

Yoongi's red face did not go unnoticed, but she ignored it because her face would've done something similar in the situation, and instead nudged him with her elbow with a smile. "This is awesome! You're like in charge of EVERYTHING now." YOONGI FOR KING. She had no idea what that made her, but it didn't really matter 'cause she was much too busy being happy for him. "How'd you keep it a secret for so long?" She would've EXPLODED.

Norah wiggled her fingers and grinned at Dot when she entered the compartment, making a mental note to compliment her beauty right back as soon as she was finished with Rooney, who was doing a very good job of breaking her heart right in half. She offered him another small smile before wiggling her arm out of his grasp to put it around him and squish him close. "You know she's gotten off to bigger school to learn even bigger potions and rule the entire world instead of just Hogwarts." That didn't mean it didn't STINK that she wasn't here, but they'd probably all be affected by Sophie Brown soon enough. When she ruled the world, which was obviously going to happen. "It'll be okay, Roo." Was she allowed to call him Roo? Too late. "Bet you she misses you tons and tons. Maybe one day you'll get to be in charge just like she was. Bet you she'll be really proud." Y'know. When he'd have proper permission to be in this compartment in the first place, unlike now. He was technically an imposter, but a very cute imposter, so she gave him another long squish before turning her head in Yoongi's direction with eyebrows raised. Could he stay? For a little? Maybe?

Melbourne got a smile too, but a suspicious one, because the last time a firstie girl had shown up in here there had been some unfortunate backflipping that they really didn't need to relive. With Rooney still wrapped in one arm, Norah turned her attention to Dot and said, "And how's the Beautiful Dot doing?" That was also important business.

There were things that were set in stone, to Dot's mind, about how each house should react in a given situation. Baby ickles in the wrong place should earn the ire of the Slytherins and the help of the Hufflepuffs and some admiration for boldness from the Gryffindors... but with everyone piling on the babies, it left being nice to Dot. Which was NOT how she wanted it - she shouldn't have to be nice by default just because no one else knew how to be. What was the world coming to?

Hugo appeared, and Dot gave his arm a little squeeze. Partner in crime. Hello. They were going to be friends now, JUST like she'd been with Caleb. "Hi, Foster. Let's chat later about our plans. Do you want to wait until we get to the castle?" Hear that, other people? Slytherin prefects had plans. They were organized.

In spite of her shiny badge, Dot often felt invisible. Especially now, where she'd barely earned a flicker from her fellow prefects. So they weren't friends... Dot knew she was a bit of a weirdo and didn't socialize well, but they could be friendly, right? Maybe she ought to be friendly first. That was a thing. Be friendly FIRST and then people would be friendly back.

"Congratulations on your badges. All of you. It's going to be a shiny fresh new start of a year with so many new faces. I like that." Dot let go of Thornton and tucked in next to Norah, who was safe and friendly and made her feel welcome. Norahs were the very best people to find when the world seemed a little scary. "And Yoongi, Head Boy! Don't let it go to your head, because these train cars have awful small doors."

Dot flickered her eyelids briefly in an attempt at comic relief, but she was also hard cord snuggling Norah's arm for reassurance. "I wish summer could last a bit longer, though."
