Please refer to this post if you're confused as to how this works or, simply, come to me. Include as much information as you can about the spell in the spoiler section at the bottom of your post, including the directionality of the spell. Also remember to be as realistic as possible with your charrie's age and ability. First person mentioned in the thread title is the first person to start off the duel. Good luck! |
h: 200 / m: 200 / f: 15 If Bastien Toussaint was excited for this duel then his expression gave away no such hints. He walked into the room for his duel focused, eyes on his opponent who he didn't know, trying to size her up. It wouldn't tell him much about her magical capabilities since this was a wand battle, but he couldn't break habit. The older girl got no greeting or pleasantries from him. Bast simply took up his place in front of her, bowed, and cast a stinging hex at her. Had to see what she was made of before he went full force. Once the spell was cast, Bastien was a moving target. H: 250, m: 250, f=: 20 It was showtime and Janelle took a minute to get her mind prepared for the duel. Just as she felt that she was properly in the zone, her opponent entered the room. She watched him watching her and smiled inwardly. Outwardly, she had her game face on. She gave no hint that she was mildly amused at the moment. Was this guy trying to play mind games with her? Maintaining her poker face, Janelle gave him what could best be described as the Guidry death stare. It was on. As her opponent bowed, Janelle bowed in return. Already thinking ahead, she was prepared for his first strike. Oh the Stinging Hex! Well he got right to the point, didn't he? Quickly raising her wand and moving it in a sweeping motion, Janelle shouted, "Protego" Fortunately, she was quick enough to block the spell. She immediately countered with an offensive spell of her own. "Rictusempra", she said, as she directed her wand toward her opponent. As soon as she had completed the spell, Janelle returned to her defensive stance. She had to be ready for anything. SPOILER!!: Points Tracker |
h: 200 / m: 193 / f: 15 Bastien was light on his feet, moving around swiftly to keep from being an easy target for the older girl. He half expected his spell to be reflected back at him when she threw up the shield, and it only made the duel easier for him when she didn't. Her tickling charm got dodged with with a little spin, and his wand was back on her again. "Colloshoo." She couldn't use that shield forever, and he wanted to test out it's strength, so he immediately sent a relatively strong shooting spell behind the other. Text Cut: Points Tracker |
H: 250, m: 233, f: 20 Janelle was holding onto her shield, but she knew that she couldn't hold out forever. Making a quick decision, she ended the spell. Immediately thereafter, a spell flew her way. It was a good thing that she was fast. If she hadn't jumped to the side just in time, she would have been stuck to the floor. Sensing that she would not get away with just dodging a spell, Janelle yelled, "Protego" Brand new shield in place, she was able to protect herself against her opponent's second spell. He was good, she had to admit that. But Janelle had no intention of losing her duel. It was time to go on offense. Thinking fast, Janelle fired back. "Impedimenta", Janelle said, hoping to buy herself a little time. If it hit, she'd be good for a few seconds. If not, well.....she didn't want to think about that. "Locomotor Wibbly", Janelle said next, concentrating on the wand movement. Something had to hit this kid.....eventually. Why not her Jelly Legs Jinx? SPOILER!!: Points Tracker |
Before the duel had even started, he knew that this was going to be an incredibly unfair duel and it had a lot to do with age. Not that the ages between the two were much but, regardless, a year of education could either mean hardly any difference in abilities or a lot of difference in abilities. He really hoped it wasn't the latter. The man didn't have any worries about the two's abilities but that didn't stop him from biting his lip and taking deep breaths every now and then as the duel continued. Time was starting to do that funny thing where it was ticking by way too slowly and making him slightly more anxious than he normally would have been. Thanks a lot. When it was time to finish the duel, the man let out a breath he didn't know he was holding and struck up the magical shield. He then approached the two contestants and took away any effects that were lingering around. Right. Response. This was not going to be easy. "You've both put up a great effort, really. Well done! But, the win goes to Miss Guidry so, congratulations!" Sorry Bastien. Stats: Sebastien Toussaint: 84.73% Janelle Guidry: 88.07% |
