Welcome to your third and final duel!
This is a key stepping stone into determining your placement in the Jinx Tournament so please take this seriously. A list of spells to use can be found HERE while the cost of physical actions can be found below.
Please note that these actions take away from the Fatigue Points section. Also note that these are only taken into account if you're attacking or avoiding a spell. If you're simply moving around the hall, these points don't need to be considered.

A referee (either Professor Airey or Professor Hirsch) will be present to oversee the duels and will only interfere if the duel ends or any foul play or unsportsmanship-like behaviour is displayed.
Please remember to adhere to the Dueling Club rules, the DADA rules as well as the SS Site rules.

OOC: This duel must be completed by the 26th of March by 11:59pm GMT. You're required to make a minimum of 3 posts each in that time.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate in contacting me about them or posting them in the Dueling Club Rules thread. If you don't think you can post during that time or you don't think you can start/finish your duel, please let me know as soon as possible and we'll try and work something out.
Remember to keep a track of your points both in the title of your post (before any spells have been cast) and at the end of the post (after your charrie has cast a spell). Please refer to this post if you're confused as to how this works or, simply, come to me. Include as much information as you can about the spell in the spoiler section at the bottom of your post, including the directionality of the spell.
Also remember to be as realistic as possible with your charrie's age and ability.
First person mentioned in the thread title is the first person to start off the duel.

She was dueling a BOY?! A BOY?! What was the professor thinking?! ... Just kidding. Ariadne HAD THIS. She was going to own this one, and Carl just better watch out! "Hiii, Carl!" Ariadne said, bouncing into the arena. She wondered if he knew she'd LOST two out of two of these duels. She was obviously super good at this. [/sarcasm]. She took her position on one end of the arena and turned to face her opponent. She bowed toward him then opted for a quick, surprise attack.
Ariadne cast the spell for PURPLE FIRECRACKERS which, if successful, would cast a stream of firecrackers in Carl's direction.
That should work for a distraction. Ariadne followed that up with a quick, "Incarcerous!" Ariadne had fallen victim to a double casting last time, and this time, she hoped to use it to her advantage.

He was back. Duel #3. And he was dueling a girl again. Not that he had a problem with that, but he felt bad having to attack girls. He definitely did not want to see blood this time ...
"Hey, Ariadne." Carl said, smiling as he walked into the arena. He took his place opposite her and bowed, remembering his dueling etiquette. When he had straightened up, a spell was already coming his way. "Protego!" He cast the Shield Charm quickly, defending him against the firecrackers that would have burned his face or something.
Blinking, Carl looked up, his wand still raised. Wait, another spell? He sidestepped just in time, feeling the Incarcerous spell flying past his ear. He could not believe that Ariadne had lost her previous duels. She seemed to be pretty good!
It was his turn to cast a spell. "Flipendo!" He called out, pointing his wand at the Slytherin.

Dang it!
Ariadne had hoped the double casting would get to Carl early on in the duel, but he'd spotted the second spell coming and had stepped out of the way just in time. Merlin! He was pretty good! He'd even retaliated not even a second later with a spell of his own. Thank you, Carl, for not sending that set of firecrackers popping back toward me. Ariadne's weakness was two coming at her at once, but thanks to her mistake the last go round, she was ready for it this time. Even if she had to side step out of the way like Carl did, she'd dodge this one!
Ariadne raised her wand the second she saw the spell coming. "PROTEGO!" she exclaimed, and this time, she sent the spell flying right back toward him. That's right, Carl. Here comes a FLIPENDO your way!

Something the man was noticing a lot in these duels was the idea of distracting their opponent with a small spell and then hitting them with a bigger spell.
And if he was completely honest with himself, he LOVED it! Especially seeing it from a first year.
A wide smile was in place as he watched the duel continue, silently wondering exactly how Mr Leonard was dealing with this display of ferociousness. It was quite an opposite pairing, wasn't it? One seemed to be pretty nice and gentle and the other was a dragon that was rearing to go.
Pity that it had to be cut short, however.
The shield had gone up, making the protego that was shooting back the flipendo - try saying that five time really fast - useless. Sorry, Miss Greingoth. "Well done, both of you. That was a great display of dueling abilities." Really. "While you've put up a good fight, Mr Leonard, Miss Greingoth has taken the title for this duel. Congratulations!"
And now they didn't have to worry about dueling for the rest of the school year. Yay?
