Welcome to your second duel!
This is a key stepping stone into determining your placement in the Jinx Tournament so please take this seriously. A list of spells to use can be found HERE while the cost of physical actions can be found below.
Please note that these actions take away from the Fatigue Points section. Also note that these are only taken into account if you're attacking or avoiding a spell. If you're simply moving around the hall, these points don't need to be considered.

A referee (either Professor Airey or Professor Hirsch) will be present to oversee the duels and will only interfere if the duel ends or any foul play or unsportsmanship-like behaviour is displayed.
Please remember to adhere to the Dueling Club rules, the DADA rules as well as the SS Site rules.

OOC: This duel must be completed by the 12th of March by 11:59pm GMT. You're required to make a minimum of 3 posts each in that time.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate in contacting me about them or posting them in the Dueling Club Rules thread. If you don't think you can post during that time or you don't think you can start/finish your duel, please let me know as soon as possible and we'll try and work something out.
Remember to keep a track of your points both in the title of your post (before any spells have been cast) and at the end of the post (after your charrie has cast a spell). Please refer to this post if you're confused as to how this works or, simply, come to me. Include as much information as you can about the spell in the spoiler section at the bottom of your post, including the directionality of the spell.
Also remember to be as realistic as possible with your charrie's age and ability.
First person mentioned in the thread title is the first person to start off the duel.

Dueling time!
Rula practically ran onto the dueling area, so excited was she to duel. Not that she'd never done so before, obviously, but it was still fun no matter how many times she'd dueled.
Plus Professor Hirsch would be around, so that was also a plus. Hehehe.
Facing her opponent, Rula bowed as was required, already considering what spell to start off with. Hmmmm...
Might as well start off with something simple.
"Expelliarmus!"

Time for another duel.
Esme was surprised to find that she did not really mind the prospect of facing off against someone. While she wouldn't say that she LOVED duelling, she didn't find it to be nearly as painful as she had built it up to be in her head. Didn't mean that she wanted to become an expert at it like her father. Just so long as she knew some skills in order to protect herself she was happy - even if Juno and her parents always had her back.
Entering the arena, she smiled at the girl she was to go up against.
After returning the bow it was time to jump right to it. Expecting an attack right off the bat (based off of her fight against Rooney), she was quick to raise a defence. "Protego!" The spell bounced harmlessly off of her shield and she gave a sigh of relief. Wouldn't have been good if she had lost her wand. Would that mean that the duel was finished before it could properly begin? She had no idea...
Shrugging the thought off, she racked her brain trying to figure out wha spell she wanted to use in retaliation. After a moment she had made up her mind.
"Incarcerous!"

Rula figured it wouldn't be that easy to disarm her opponent, but that was okay. It was way more fun this way, really.
There were ropes flying at her now though, uh oh. She aimed her wand at them. "Diffindo!" They were cut into smaller pieces but still coming her way so she stepped to the side to avoid them. The rope pieces landed harmlessly on the floor.
Phew.
But now what? Hm...oh!
Her wand pointing back at her opponent now, she cast a quick Jelly-Legs Curse and then followed it up with Rictusempra just a couple seconds after.

So things were going fairly well. True her spell hadn't hit Rula, but at least there was no frustration as had been the case with Rooney. It was still early days but Esme had a feeling that this duel would be more laid back and that was a good thing in her book regardless of the fact that she would be having fun either way. However, this was Juno's forte and not hers.
Lost in her thoughts, she almost missed out on the spell that was coming towards her. Don't be so stupid, she scolded herself as at the last moment she rolled off to the side. Both that spell and the one that followed a couple seconds behind it missed and she gave a sigh of relief before quickly getting back to her feet and dusting off her robes. It was during this time that Esme racked her brain trying to decide what spell she wanted to do next. Maybe she'd go for a double attack because she couldn't remember having done that before during her brief time duelling. Why not... It could be a lot of fun and it wasn't as if Rula hadn't done the same thing. Rooney had as well.
Smiling, Esme knew exactly what she wanted to do.
"Colloshoo!" That was immediately followed by the Ears to Kumquats spell. She had always wanted to try that one out.

Her spells had missed since Esme had rolled away, but that was okay. There seemed to be a bit of a few seconds' pause in the spell casting too, and that was also okay. Nothing wrong with a more relaxed-pace duel - it could be just as fun as a fast-paced, super-competitive one, at least in Rula's opinion. Just depended on your mood.
Then suddenly there were spells flying at her and she had to act fast.
"Protego!" Her reflexes didn't quite get the shield up in time to block the first spell, but the second spell hit the shield and rebounded back toward her opponent.
Rula tried to shift her feet to get a better position but then realized her feet were practically glued to the floor. Well, crud. She'd deal with that in a moment though. Oughta cast another spell first.
"Tarantallegra!"

Feeling at ease during a duel was both a good thing and a bad. A good thing because it made things more fun, and bad because there was the very real possibility of being caught off guard.
The spell that Rula sent back happened so fast that Esme barely had enough time to cast a shield before it hit. With a sigh of relief she watched the spell bounce off harmlessly. Another shield was raised within seconds as the second spell came towards her. Thank Merlin she seemed to have been blessed with her father's quick reflexes because otherwise she would have been in a lot of trouble.
Not missing a beat, she responded with a quick, "Waddiwasi!" sending wadded up bits of paper towards Rula.

This duel wasn't the most intense duel he's ever encountered but, then again, it also wasn't the most easygoing of duels. It was somewhere in between and the man liked that quite a bit.
The man stood in the shadows and simply watched as spell after spell were cast. But that wasn't the part that interested him the most: it was that moment when Miss Botros cut up the ropes that had been heading her way. That in itself earned the Slytherin an impressed look complete with raised eyebrows and everything. Never had he thought of doing that.
Smirking slightly, the man waited for the time to be up before putting up a shield between the two players. "Excellent duel, ladies!" he called, approaching the two of them, "And particular well done, Miss Botros, on using Diffindo in a smart way. Very well done, indeed." He was impressed, could she tell? "Even after all of that, Miss Darcy, you've managed to secure the win. Congratulations!" Kind of surprising if you compared her dueling self to what she was like in his lesson, wasn't it? "And well done, Miss Botros."
