Welcome to your second duel!

This is a key stepping stone into determining your placement in the Jinx Tournament so please take this seriously. A list of spells to use can be found HERE while the cost of physical actions can be found below.

Please note that these actions take away from the Fatigue Points section. Also note that these are only taken into account if you're attacking or avoiding a spell. If you're simply moving around the hall, these points don't need to be considered.

A referee (either Professor Airey or Professor Hirsch) will be present to oversee the duels and will only interfere if the duel ends or any foul play or unsportsmanship-like behaviour is displayed.

Please remember to adhere to the Dueling Club rules, the DADA rules as well as the SS Site rules.

OOC: This duel must be completed by the 12th of March by 11:59pm GMT. You're required to make a minimum of 3 posts each in that time.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate in contacting me about them or posting them in the Dueling Club Rules thread. If you don't think you can post during that time or you don't think you can start/finish your duel, please let me know as soon as possible and we'll try and work something out.

Remember to keep a track of your points both in the title of your post (before any spells have been cast) and at the end of the post (after your charrie has cast a spell). Please refer to this post if you're confused as to how this works or, simply, come to me. Include as much information as you can about the spell in the spoiler section at the bottom of your post, including the directionality of the spell.

Also remember to be as realistic as possible with your charrie's age and ability.

First person mentioned in the thread title is the first person to start off the duel.

Rachel was still taken aback about whom her second partner for the next duel turned out to be. She had not expected to be going up against David. She felt a lot of pressure on herself mainly from Haddie whose words of encouragement and chiding that she simply must defeat the second year still rang in her ears. The rest of the pressure came from herself because of the fact that David not just a friend but also her crush. How in the name of Rapunzel's shiny hair was she going to throw spells at him? What if she hurt him? She was worried about this just as she had been worried about dueling Mason.

The younger eagle, hair in two plaits as usual, bit her lower lip nervously as she turned to face him. "Good luck, David,'' she said with a smile then curtsied. Yes, she had given a curtsy. She already knew which spell she would be starting with.

She straightened up and raised her wand to cast the hair Thickening Charm.

What was it with people and not turning up for duels? Hm? It was a duel! C'mon!

At least Rachel was there, who got a warm smile from the man but......... David. David couldn't be seen anywhere and he certainly didn't appear during the allocated time. Hirsch looked over at the Ravenclaw first year and gave her a shrug. Sorry kid, not much he could do here.

When the time was up, he, once again, didn't bother with the magical shield. He simply approached the young girl and said quietly, "Sorry about......." Cue a hand waving motion. Here's hoping she understood exactly what it is that he meant. "Maybe next time? But for now, you should really get going otherwise you'll miss lunch."
