To be honest, Katherine had no desire to continue duelling after the last time she had JUST avoided being burnt. These students seemed savage and took duelling way too seriously, but what could she do? She wasn't about to just quit - oh, no! She was going to be the b e s t and thus, she showed up right on time.
Luckily, her opponent was a Slytherin... who, if she was a clever snake, wouldn't try to burn her alive.
Anyway, she pushed away the images of fire from the last time. No, she was prepared for this round this time. "Hello Mason," she greeted the other girl and bowed. She didn't want to waste more time though, so right after bowing, she cast "Incarcerous!" at Mason to bind her.
Yeah, Katherine was going to be more aggressive for this round.

Mason plastered her best Slytherin Smirk on, trying to look as cool and collected as possible. It wasn't as if she was scared or nervous or anything, she was just determined to win. And that was exactly what she had come to do.
Her opponent, a Ravenclaw girl named Katherine, bowed to her and greeted her nicely enough. Mason, still wearing her smirk, returned the bow and said, "Nice to meet you Katherine."I'm gonna try and pulverise you so, sorry.
But almost as soon as the formalities had been done, the Eagle attacked. Mason's smirk vanished and she made a grab for her wand, Professor Hirsh's words echoing in her mind.
Mason raised the Yew and cast, "Finite!"
She wasn't about to let this girl win that easily, she was determined. But she was going to have to be fast though.
She raised her wand again and pointed at Katherine's eyes, sending a "Obscuro!"straight at the girl. She couldn't beat Mason is she couldn't see.
She was going to win this time, she was going to make sure of that.

◦Opponent Points:
◾H: 0

◦Additional Effects: MUST be directed at one spell at a time (one Finite for EACH spell desired to be cancelled). Will not cancel everything in the vicinity of the caster. (Finite MUST be cast on EACH spell to cancel them. The exception is spells that combine into ONE big spell: like Oppugo and Avis combine into attacking birds. ONE finite would be required to get rid of the attacking and the birds. If it was say, Rope and Ice, however, these are two separate spells that would need separate Finite's to cancel)

Katherine had (arrogantly) expected Mason to fall at her very first spell. However, this little snake proved to be too fast too. Katherine didn't know how. She was one of the best students at school, and yet her two opponents...
Anyway, she had to focus. She didn't put up a shield yet, mainly because she didn't want to exhaust herself this soon, so she just got ready to step aside - and soon enough, Mason was casting back another spell... which thankfully wasn't fire, but Katherine couldn't dwell on it much. She QUICKLY stepped aside. Actually, she WAS going to put up a shield to feel safer. She had precisely practiced for this, see - to make a shield that DEFLECTS the spells after the horrendous fire experience. So while stepping aside quickly, she also cast a "Protego!"
Two could play this "blindfolding" game.
Once she felt the shield around her, she yelled a "Melofors!" A head in a PUMPKIN was going to be SUCH a sight!

......... Was this really Katherine Moss? Really?!
Hirsch had to move himself slightly to catch a better glimpse of her face. Yeah, this was definitely the same Katherine Moss from the previous round of duels but, there was something different about her. She was....... fierce. At least, if the opening Incarcerous spell was anything to go by.
Merlin!
He watched as the duel commenced and then, before long, it was time over. Already! Time had done that funny thing of speeding up just as things were getting interesting. Shame, really, because Hirsch had wanted to see how the rest of the duel would've gone between these two. As it was, he simply put up a magical shield between the two contestants and started approaching them.
When he was close enough, he took away the effects of any spells that might have still been lingering around. "That was a very good duel, ladies. And Miss Moss, excellent. Truly excellent." That was what he'd been talking about. "But Miss Stevens has taken the lead from you. Congratulations, Miss Stevens!" Smile.
