Ansley led his class out to an open space on the Hogwarts grounds not far from the lake. This would be the perfect place to have a little fun with his lesson. Once he called roll again and made sure that everyone who was with him inside was now congregated outside, he addressed them all as a class again.
"Alright, class, we are going to have a little activity," he said, raising his voice a little to make sure they could all hear. "We are going to go to war. Well... not really, but we are going to have a paint war. Instead of two sides, there will be four - you will be divided by house. Might as well Impervius your clothes, or get an older student to do that for you." He probably should have told them to wear old clothes, but oops, he forgot.
"A lot of you said you'd go to war for family or friends, maybe imagine that that is what is going on now." Or whatever they wanted to imagine, he didn't care. "Which side will win? The side that wants it more? The side with more people? The side that has more power?" It might be interesting to see how it turned out or what the strategies would be.
"You will be using two spells - Pingo, which shoots out a bubble of paint from your wand when combined with the spell name and color (for example - Pingo Blue shoots out blue paint) and Protego, the shield charm." Hopefully the younger students knew these charms or they'd need to learn fast. Not his problem though, all's fair in love and war. "You will attempt to strike a member from another team with your house color and they will do the same. Once you are hit by a color twice, you must join that team until you are struck twice by another color." So in effect, if a teammate was lost, they could always be returned if the original team were strategic.

You may either shoot paint or RP the outcome (block or hit) in your post.
If you've been hit twice by a house color, you must join that team.
Include as much detail in a post as desired, but please include who is being shot at and the color. Please these stand out easier by underlining and coloring or bolding the noted words.
Please wear the appropriately colored avatar so teams can recognize each other and make the game a little easier for everyone to play. And change it accordingly if your character gets hit and has to join a different team.
Participation points will come from this game, so have fun, be honest, and don't worry too much about what team you are on. Remember that not every student is going to block every spell or hit every target. I'd much rather see realism than winners =)
You will have until 11:59 pm EDT March 29 to complete at least 6 posts at which time this class will come to an end.

He pointed his wand at Elsa. Revenge time. Here comes some red colour you ordered Elsa "Pingo Red" and the paint flew in her direction.
He wasn’t done yet there were still too many he could shoot. He grabbed his wand a bit tighter and aimed at one of the Revenclaws as they seemed in majority at the moment. "Pingo Red" he shouted and then there was the red paint flying from his wand again towards the Revenclaw who was trying to protect one of her fellow Eagle.
The lion was on a roll. Still so many left to fire at.
"No problem, we should probably stick together, back to back or something no?" she suggested, raising her want to shoot at another student, Ravenclaw as far as she could tell when she on her site by a splash of Red.
MERLIN, where did that come from?? She gazed in the direction she had been hit and saw Gabriel, the sneaky Gryffindor. Oh yeah, payback right? She stuck her tongue out at him and shook her clothes trying to get rid of the color, but the paint was stuck to her impervioused clothes.

Everyone was trying so hard to get the Esme girl from Hufflepuff onto their team. Was she that good? Or did they just want her because they were friends? He wouldn't mind having his friends on his team, he supposed...
"Protego!" Jaemin wrinkled his nose and pointed his wand hurriedly to cast a shield charm up for her, and the Ravenclaw blue cast by Kitty splattered across it.

Messy. Very messy.
Seconds after being hit by the Red stream of paint from Gabriel, Elsa's shoes were sprinkled with Blue. Elsa quickly turned her head and saw a fellow Slytherin. "Hey!" she waved him over. "What about the two of us attack Jace? He's the one who shot at Ariadne just now, if we hit him he'll be with us". Hoping her fellow Slytherin would join her she pointed her want at Jace and cast "Pingo Green!"

All Angel wanted to do was just sit and enjoy the sun but the head boy had stopped that maybe she could get him back so how, like maybe she could aim at him with the paint, but then that might get her into trouble, she was going to bide her time and wait to see if he changed teams, because if he did then he would be fair game for her.
Angel looked around and say a Slytherin boy that she didn't think she knew so he was fair game right, she wouldn't feel bad getting paint all over him. "Pingo Red!" Angel watched as the paint went towards the Slytherin, but would it hit, now that was the question.

Hmmm. She wondered how long she'd be able to keep this up...
Spotting the Head Girl, laying on the ground and shooting paint at the Slytherins, she figured now was as good a time as any to try and convert the older girl to the Puffs! "Pingo Yellow!" she exclaimed, aiming at her as she lay on the ground. Hopefully it hit her before she got up...
So her random blue paint shot apparently failed and so Tia just stayed low on the ground for a few moments, enjoying just not standing. Not to mention that staying low, the head girl felt she was under camouflage at least where she wasn't at eye level, so most of her opponents wouldn't notice her. Perhaps staying here for the remainder of the lesson wouldn't be a bad idea.... She was hidden, but not....

There was yellow paint. On her right sock of all places.
Looking up to see where it came from, she spotted the culprit. Young Scarlett Reynolds, whom had quite a bit of spirit in her. Honestly, Tia expected great things from her and would be greatly surprised if she failed to achieve those measures. "Nice one," she grinned sheepishly, sitting upright and casting a non-verbal Protego shield charm. Gotta defend against getting hit twice, even if her aunt and brother HAD made her curious about the Hufflepuff side of things.

Post 3 (Aiming for Mason xD We Need Our Snake Back!)
Otter This World ♡ Catpurrccino ♡ Slotherin ♡ Pandamonium
This was beyond confusing in a fun sort of way. Lots of yelling, running around and paint flying everywhere. If ever a Professor wanted to make a point about something this was it.
Her team of snakes was doing fairly well or so she thought to herself. Their tactic of staying in a group and pretty much aiming for the same person seemed to be working alright. Well that was until Mason was hit by the blue and the girl had to become a Claw. Hady wasn't about to let that happen. They needed their team together.
"Pingo Green!," she cast firmly aiming her wand at Mason and watching as the green paint went flying in that direction. Hopefully it was a hit and she'd have one of of little snakes back.

Yes, Carl's eyes were on the Ravenclaws. He had already been attacked by the blue team twice, failing to defend himself once. One more hit and he would have to leave his group. He did not want to do that! He noticed Jace firing paint at him and quickly turned to face him.
Pointing his wand at the boy, he said, "Protego!" A shield appeared and the blue blob of paint bounced off. Whew!

Another green paint his way? Not when he’s facing the witch who casted it. Jace easily deflected the spell with his wand, sending green paint splattering away from him, “PROTEGO!” He’d love to experience a new colour really, but not too soon. “Nice try, Elsa!”BEAM.
And he didn’t hit Carl? Too bad! For some reason though, he felt like pulling a prank on the Hufflepuff. “CARL! WATCH OUT!” he said, looking genuinely worried, pointing with his left index finger behind the Hufflepuff for effect.
Jace scurried off to hide behind bigger Ravenclaws, and took a peek if Carl would fall for his trick. The signature ‘Cheeky Reed’ is sloooowly coming out of his shell apparently.
Not good.

For a war, this was slightly underwhelming. Where were the casualties? Ansley was not sure how the students were managing to defend themselves so well that they barely had any paint on them. In fact, he only saw two students switch teams, and the class seemed more interested in getting their teammates back immediately. Perhaps they were missing the point. Next time he'd revise the rules.
But for now he just wanted them to have a little fun. And for the most part they seemed to be, or at least it appeared that way from his spot a little out of the way of the chaos. Watching the action a slight smirk fell over his features as he discreetly cast a nonverbal Pingo Blue at Carl. He was formerly a Ravenclaw after all.

The Ravenclaw stood up, and as soon as he did, he got a good amount of paint straight to the back of his head, and down to his neck. Jace just stood there, shocked by the impact. He did not expect to be hit so soon!
He turned to see where the paint came from, but as he did so, he caught sight of Ariadne. Well. How about they go trade houses for the day, eh?
“PINGO BLUE!”
THIS WAS WONDERFUL!
The Head Girl had one red hit and one yellow hit, and if she'd lose that Shield Charm around her, someone ELSE could hit her. Ariadne didn't even care who that was. She had volunteered to step over to Team Red or Team Yellow as long the Head Girl got taken out. Yeah, that wouldn't help Slytherin, but it'd be one less Ravenclaw, AND Ariadne MIGHT just WANT to get splattered with paint.
It sounded fun...
So when Jace shot a spray of paint toward her, she did everything in her power to block it. She was trying to take out the Ravenclaws not join them! NO, JACE. Not today! "Protego!" she said.
Now. If the Head Girl could just lose the Shield Charm around her, Ariadne's plan could carry on.

Olivia felt that hit her back, sending her spinning around to see what was what since she hadn’t registered the casting of the spell. One Gryffindor first year seemed to have his attention on her and sure enough when she maneuvered to check the hit there was red paint. Alas she had one push towards the house of the lion to keep track of. She would have to be careful to avoid switching over to the other house. Gryffindor would hopefully not be getting her help on their side against her own house.
So her attention was remaining on her attacker as well as any others around her. Getting caught by a hit in the back was making her wary of other surprises. Now if the lions wanted her, they’d have to go the less cowardly approach of aiming for her head on.

Janelle was all in for this paintball war game. This was the way to have a war......without any real casualties. It was all symbolic and that was fine. Listening to the instructions, Janelle made sure to Impervious herself. You couldn't fully immerse yourself in the fun, if you had to worry about getting dirty and having to clean up later.
Now that she was protected, Janelle was ready to do this. Scanning the room quickly, she locked onto her target. With a devious smile, she aimed her wand at her buddy Angel. "Pingo Blue", she shouted. Angel would look so good in Ravenclaws blue. Hopefully her spell would reach its target. Janelle didn't waste time looking to see if she made a hit though. She was already looking for her next victim annnnd watching her own back. She would have to keep her eyes open because she was not trying to be anything other than blue.

He was so going to help Elsa take down Jace. SO WAS PLANNING ON IT. He'd pointed his wand in Jace's direction, and was going to cast the spell...
...until another red paint ball caught him right in the stomach and splattered all over him. Everywhere. ALL THE RED. He froze up a little in confusion at the impact, and after a moment looked down at it, blinking; more red meant... that he was out. He had to go join the Head Boy's team.
"O-ohhhhh..." he was immediately disappointed in himself for getting hit again. It was to be expected, because he'd sorta proven he was awful at stuff like this, but still. DISAPPOINTING. The small Slytherin looked at his (now former) teammates, rubbing at the red paint on his stomach a little, and made his way over to the red team instead.
If Kitty could have hit anyone in the entire field, it probably would have been Esme followed by Mason, and the reason was that she wanted all her friends on the same team. So Ariadne (even though so she only knew her a little) would be next. But instead, seeing another Ravenclaw firing at a Gryffindor, the Goth turned her wand at Angel and shouted "Pingo Blue!"

Gryffindors…other students working on the lion team. Both sets of people worked. And seeing Jaemin painted red, Olivia decided to try and see if she could make him a Ravenclaw instead. To aim for someone that wasn’t in defense of a teammate or partnered up with one. Sorry Gryffindors but the Head Girl’s team was better. Or at least trying to be better at this activity by doing their best.
“PINGO BLUE!!” she cast, aiming at her first dueling opponent. It would be interesting to see if she was better at hitting him when he wasn’t expecting it. One could only hope the element of surprise would work in her favor.

Janelle had already moved on in her mind. She had found another target. This time, she decided to go for her dueling partner Hady. It was probably in bad form to attack someone who was unaware. At the moment, Hady was busy shooting her paint at another student. Janelle was pretty sure that she didn't see her coming. But.......this was war and all was fair, right?
Janelle wouldn't go so far as to hit Hady in the back. For this reason, she made her way around to the side of the older girl. Wand at the ready, Janelle suddenly moved more to the front of her target and unleashed her spell. "Pingo Blue", she yelled, for the second time. She watched as a jet of blue paint shot from her wand and headed in Hady's direction. Janelle thought it would be great to bring her friends over to the Claw side and this was one way to do it.

For someone so small, it sure seemed like he was a big target. Jaemin had just reached the red team when Olivia's blue paint hit him, more in his back than his side; the boy's eyes widened and he spun around, belatedly throwing up a shield just in case anyone else was aiming at him. First red, now blue?! His eyes landed on Olivia, and how her wand was pointed at him, and he pointed at her almost indignantly.
"You won't get me again, Olivia!" he called. He was WATCHING YOU. Bad Ravenclaw! He was gonna get her back for this.

Janelle was on a roll now, or so she thought. She was slipping in and out of the shadows, trying to keep a low profile. In the meantime, she was on a mission to make the Ravenclaw blue team the biggest team of all. Next on her list was the Slytherin first year (Ariadne) that she had her eye on. So far, she had done well picking off the students who were distracted and focused on their targets. Would her strategy work this time? Who knew?
Janelle eased her way over to the younger girl with her wand at her side. Then she quickly raised it and said, "Pingo Blue". Had she been seen? Would the paint hit its target or would the spell be blocked in time? Janelle didn't know and she really didn't have time to stand there and ponder the outcome. Time was of the essence and and she still had blue paint to spread around. On she went, looking for the next person to paint.

Tia didn't know why but she felt kind of bored with the activity. Maybe it was the fact that hardly anyone was changing colours, which made her feel even worse for aiding in changing Rachel back to blue. But she really wanted to get messy. And get everyone else messy too.
With a sigh, the head girl cast a quick finite to end her shield charm. Because honestly she didn't care anymore if she got struck by another colour. She was a Ravenclaw, sure, but she was graduating AND she kind of wanted to experience the other houses - even if it was only for a split second. Not to mention she'd already been struck once by yellow and once by red.
Biting her lip, the seventh year quickly cast several "Pingo Blue" spells, her wand going in a circle all around the whole room. If everyone was able to avoid that, well, she'd want superhero lessons from all of them. Seriously.

All she saw was paint coming in her direction.
Olivia didn’t register what color it was, just that she was a likely target as well as anyone else in the vicinity that could be hit by the erratic array of spells apparently being thrown about. So the first year quickly cast a shield spell in her defense, "Protego!" only to notice the spell that reacted against it was blue.
What in Merlin’s beard?
She was being shot by her own team?!
It was then that she saw her cousin throwing the remaining spells around. “Already Ravenclaw, Tia,” she remarked with a chuckle at the older eagle. And she hadn’t been turned to need rescuing. At least she had managed to block it in time.

Ariadne took a good look around the room. Class had to be ending soon. This meant that the winner would be determined soon, and from what she could tell, it looked like a Ravenclaw versus Slytherin ending. Ariadne was DETERMINED to do whatever it took to give Slytherin a fighting chance. Another look around the room showed her that Jaemin had been claimed for Gryffindor. That HAD to be fixed. Losing people at this stage in the game wasn't good at all.
She was just about to aim toward Jaemin when a blast of blue paint came soaring toward her. NO WAY, RAVENCLAW. Ariadne was going to fight this to the end! "PROTEGO!" she said. She didn't even catch where that one had come from. Ravenclaw had tried to take Mason, Gryffindor DID take Jaemin, but NO ONE was getting her. Ariadne dashed to the other side of the room trying to get a better aim toward Jaemin. She was going to win him back FOR SURE.

Now that he had defended himself against two blue paint attacks, Carl gained confidence. He was about to cast some Pingos when he heard Jace shout his name. Glancing at him, he was surprised to see the Ravenclaw pointing at the space behind him, looking worried and - he was telling him to watch out? He turned around, ready to deflect spells coming his way. But no, there was nobody paying any attention to him. Or at least, that was what it looked like.
When the twelve-year-old turned around again, Jace was nowhere to be seen. What was that all about? SPLAT SPLAT. As if in a slow motion, he looked down to see blue paint all over him. One he knew, was casted by Tia, who was shooting paint at everybody; the other, he was not sure.
Well, he was in Team Blue then. Carl smiled in spite of himself.
Ansley let a little more paint fly around for a bit longer. The class seemed to be getting into it more, now that they had gotten the hang of the spell and were getting their strategies together. But it was just about time to end the class to make sure they all had time to get cleaned up before their next class.
He cast another discreet and nonverbal Pingo Blue at Angel, then got a little closer to the action and put his hands up to signal their attention. "Cease fire!" he called towards them, raising his voice so that they would all hear. "Your battle has come to an end. If you need any help cleaning up, let me know or an older student can probably help out." He couldn't declare any winner, but hopefully they learned a little bit about battles and had fun at the same time.
"Once you are cleaned up, you may go. Class is dismissed."
