Anyone? Mentions of Garreth Azura slowly made her way into the History of Magic classroom! She was a little wary about classes after her charms fiasco and the Defense against the dark arts! She shyly waved up at the Professor "Hello Professor Finch." She said shyly as she made sure her hands stayed at her sides! No hair tugging now! The small Raven haired Ravenaw moved to find her seat and she looked over to see Garreth! She moved towards him only to find that her name wasn't at his table. "Have a good class." She said softly to her friend as she moved away and finally found her name.. Near the back. She sat down and clasped her hands together and her purple eyes looked around.. She wondered who was going to be sitting with her? |
we're sorry you can flick her away SPOILER!!: Dot :) Pink glitter glue and unicorn stickers. Yes. Her nametag was turning into a masterpiece. If she did so herself. She wasn't an artist by no means. But she did know how to make things pretty. And then it happened. She got a neighbor. A pretty neighbor with the most beautiful red hair and freckles. She just wanted to play with that hair. "Hey, new friend. I like your red hair, it's pretty." One day, she would have her own red hair. Kat always wanted red hair. And to have a red headed friend. She gave the girl a big smile. "I'm Kat! Are you not going to decorate your nametag?" Showing the girl her own nametag. Why did her pretty new friend seem so sad? |
As people started to enter, Esme sent smiles and waves to her friends. She was busy working on her name tag, but she would be done soon. Could they spend all lessons doing crafts? Somehow she doubted that it would happen... Shame. "Hey!" she said as Olivia joined her. "How are you?" Garreth made his way over and she waved at him, but it looked like he was to be seated somewhere else. Oh well. She would get to know him better outside of class, she was sure! |
tabling with Dot ;) Quote:
But if he was being honest about it, because thats what Gryffindors are, he'd much rather be a Defense boy, or a Charms boy, or an Astronaut.... ... but History is a required subject and blah blah blah yeah he's had this conversation with his dad before so he's here. What he didnt expect was assigned seating. Whut? There was a look on Tenacius' face as he had to walk by Mel and Tory and had to look for his name on the tables. And there it was, and there was someone already seated there. Someone with fiery red hair and green robes. And a badge. Looks like this class was giving him a history lesson already. "Hi!" he greeted the girl nicely as he took his seat. Then he pointed at her badge "My dad had that when he was here. Have you tried opening a soda pop bottle with that? He said its very effective." Hidden uses ftw. |
Anyone? Henric just join your team yes. [Ariadne and Norah?] Henric walked into the classroom, rather preoccupied with his thoughts. He cast a small smile at his HOM professor before greeting him politely,"Good morning professor." He noticed nametags with their names on it placed on the table. So...they were doing a group assignment? Okaay... Huh? He watched as llia went over to a group of students and was surprised to see Zeke there. Woah....whaat? She was assigned a seat with the guy? What were their fates they would be grouped together?! Oh no...this wouldn't end well if they do.... He spotted his nametag on the table and went to take a seat. "Hi... Henric here."he muttered a greeting towards his co-prefect and another girl whom he saw one time during Charms class. |
Mention of Azura Austin walked into the room, confused as ever. The tables were set with chairs around it. Like they were some kind of small dining table. This wasn't how their desks were normally arranged, so maybe it was a muggle thing? Hopefully this wasn't how the room was going to be set up the whole year. The Fifth year wasn't fond of close spaces with other people, especially ones he didn't know. Thankfully, he realized, there was no worry for that today. When he found his name tag, he realized it was at a table with his new friend, Azura. "Hello there." He could recognize her purple eyes from miles away. And thankfully, the purple eyes helped him pin a name to her face. He was rubbish at names. As he sat down, he gave a warming "Hello professor," to the professor sitting up front. |
Hmmm. What was this class? |
Chloe was glad for a change of pace (actual desks) when she walked into History of Magic. This was the kind of lesson the twelve year old could get behind because, well, it seemed like a proper lesson. There was nothing wrong with desks and seats and books and order. The chaos this school bred. Honestly. The blonde found her way to her seat and settled in. Her hands wiping blonde wisps out of her eyes. |
Ariadne; Norah; Henric; room for one more! Text Cut: Ariadne gets BOTH Hufflepuff prefects! Rummaging through the caddy, Ariadne found a collection of house spirit stickers. Lions? Next... Badgers? Next... Eagles? Next... SNAKES! Finally! Seeing as no other snakes had joined their table, Ariadne figured nobody else would want these. She took two of them and added them to her name tag. TADA! Ariande considered herself finished with her name tag...for now. It had her name on it, some green dots, some silver glittery swirls, and now some house spirit stickers. Just as she finished up, a boy approached their table, introducing himself. "I'm Ariadne!" she said. WHOA, WAIT. He had a badge, too! "You're a prefect, too?! You mean, I get to partner up with both Hufflepuff prefects? Awesome!" |
Kat and Tenacious Quote:
"I'm Dot." Although her nametag said Charlotte. "You can decorate it, if you want. And feel free to use lots of that glitter. I'm a fan. If you remind me after class, I know a glitter charm for temporarily spicing up your wardrobe." Quote:
"I haven't tried anything like that, no. I'm trying to keep it pristine in case there's an inspection. There never has been one, but that doesn't mean that there never will be one. Best to be prepared." She sounded a little like a Hufflepuff, didn't she? "I might give it a try, though. I'll keep you updated." |
History of Magic just wasn't the same without the talented, intelligent, And, of course, his desk was located near no one he knew. Dima wasn't fussed, though (he'd likely sleep through this lesson, anyway). He did go about doodling piano keys on his nametag, though, to wear himself out a bit. You had to work up to a nap. |
SPOILER!!: this'll be fun Melbourne wasn’t really paying attention when Zeke walked up until she heard him say her name and beamed up at him. He’d gotten it right. Good for him…it was really silly even some of her family said it the wrong way JUST to irk her. “Hiiiiiiiii” she grinned up at Zeke and immediately recognized him as a fellow ball-snatcher from Astronomy…glancing down at the nametag in front of him she just smiled. “Zeke,” she grinned and gave him a head nod. The other girl she knew was a bit more…intense when she walked up but that was because of the whole hand-holding-thing that happened in Astronomy. “Hello,” she smiled up at her and then saw the looks she gave Zeke and had to hold back a little laugh. This class was going to be fun…pretty-boy, Gryffindor boy, and the cobra-like-snake-girl. They were good companions yes? “I’m Melbourne,” she greated Ilia with a small smile, “you guys can call me Mel or…well some people call me Melon or Burn” she admitted with a grin. The little grin was more like a smirk because well, burning things was kind of fun wasn’t it? |
Rachel practically skipped all the way to the History of Magic classroom. She was so very excited for this lesson because it was being taught by one of her absolute favourite persons in the Castle- Professor Handsome. Professor Finch, actually but she loved calling him Handsome in her head. "Hello, Professor.'' The girl smiled widely. "I am so excited for your lesson.'' Couldn't he see it? She was still skipping in place slightly. However, her attention was drawn to the objects covered in the corner. What was under those sheets? SPOILER!!: AZURA! <3 On her way to her seat, Rachel saw the familiar faces of her friends but her name was not located at any of their tables. Not even Garreth's which disappointed her immensely. She patted him on the shoulder before continuing the hunt for her name tag. The disappointment she felt earlier was made up by the fact that her name tag was resting on the desk where Azura and her baking buddy, Austin sat. Smiling, Rachel gracefully took a seat beside her Housemates. "Hello, Azura, hello Austin.'' |
anyone can feel free to claim him if they so please ^^ To say that he was excited about this class would have been an understatement. Jaemin had done quite a lot of rushing about the castle, his short legs carrying him between classes and up staircases that moved - why, Merlin, why - but his rushing to this class was especially speedy. This was the one subject that Jaemin knew so very, very little about... but wanted to know everything about. Growing up in a household with a Muggle mother and a Wizard father (his dad had affectionately called it a 'halfsie house' sometimes, though Jaemin did not understand why as he was the only half-anything), and having attended a Muggle school for the first five years of his education, Jaemin's knowledge on Magic History was, to his understanding, severely lacking. He knew lots of stuff about Muggle History, but they never talked about things like the war that had happened like a hundred years ago, or Hogwarts being founded, or anything like that. Jaemin had asked about it once, when he was very small, and his teacher had made him sit in the corner for making up stories during classtime. He had not asked again, and had not really pursued anything further... The small boy was sure that this professor person would be able to help him sort everything out though. So far, the professors he'd met had all been really great! The minuscule Slytherin zoomed into the classroom excitedly, eyes going first to the desks and then to the sheet covered things, and finally to where the professor was. "Ah!" He stopped dead and pointed at the man, mouth dropping open a little. "The train teacher!" Somehow he hadn't quite made the jump to figuring out what the man from the train was supposed to be teaching, and the travesty that was the feast hadn't given him the chance to find out either. He hadn't even really seen most of the professors at the feast, thanks to his diminutive stature and a few strategically placed tall people. But here he was! Yay! He'd made it off the train and into the school and was looking very professor-y! The boy smiled brightly at the train teacher and gave him an excited wave before rushing off to try and find the desk with his nametag on it. He made sure to look for both 'Jay' and 'Jaemin', just in case. |
History of Magic! Some people might say history was boring, but Carl did not think so. Well, Muggle history was, but in the Wizarding World, even memorizing dates, names and events was fun. Maybe he was just biased. Anyways. Carl smiled at Professor Finch as he walked into the classroom. "Hello, Professor!" He did notice the objects covered with sheets, but decided not to ask because just like his previous D.A.D.A. lesson, he knew he would learn about it in the lesson. So, he headed towards his seat, looking here and there for his name. Finally, the Hufflepuff found his spot at the same table as Ariadne, the girl he met on the Hogwarts Express; Norah and Henric, his House Prefects. Yay! "Hey," Carl smiled and took a seat. Now, he had to design his name tag. That was new. After some hesitation, he took a red color pen and began outlining the parchment. |
Sitting with Rooney (did anyone else sit here errr I didn't see) Quote:
Doop de dooooooo. Charlotte skipped into the class and immediately looked around for Davie, not immediately twigging about this whole assigned seating thing. Wait, what? Okaaaaay but if she wasn't sitting next to at least SOMEONE cool then she would DEFINITELY pretend to be someone else. She searched for her name and brightened quickly when she saw that she was gonna be at the same table as Rooney. "Hi Roo!" She beamed at him and sat down. WHO ELSE was gonna be at their table?! |
la la we'll let whoever wants to claim Brooklyn do so. :P Brooklyn’s opinion on History of Magic was still undecided, even after four terms. Every time she thought she’d decided, the professor seemed to change and that threw everything back into question. It was rather irritating, but then she hadn’t really thought that the Grey Lady would stay teaching for long anyhow. That meant she was only going to compare the new professor with Professor Glendower, since she’d actually enjoyed her lessons for the most part. Even if her first memory was arguing with the head girl over whether or not fairy tale characters were real. It was still memorable, and it didn’t involve her getting hurt or nearly tossed into a swamp. That made it a good memory, as far as Hogwarts was concerned. “Good morning Professor,” she said, walking into the classroom and giving the man a nod, which also worked as a subtle way of trying to get a full idea of him. What he might be like, but then his announcement worked just as well for that. Assigned seating. With her luck, she’d probably be sat with Frankie, or someone else she’d feel more like arguing with than anything else. She had to deal with it, though, now that she was here. Turning, she looked for the seat with her nametag on, then made her way over and sat down. So far so good, but she wasn’t holding her breath. |
Hehe you got a Trixie Quote:
So Trixie was unsure of how she felt about this lesson. On the one hand she was curious about how magic had come about and how it had progressed through the many years. But on the other hand she was worried that it was going to be a boring class with lost of note taking. Her father and uncle had said that the class was quite boring and they had spent their time either sleeping during the class or in her Uncle Oliver's case, chatting up the girls. She decided that it was best to just make her own decision, so far her family members had given her some very dubious advice on attending classes at Hogwarts. Once she had entered the classroom, Trixie gave the Professor a cheery wave. "Hello Professor." She chirped as she passed him by looking for her name tag and finding it on a desk that had a Slytherin boy sitting there. She made her way over and plopped down in the seat beside him. "I swear my head is going to explode with all the stuff we've had to learn so far." And she was only about halfway through all her subjects. There was still plenty more to come. "I'm Trixie by the way." |
Sitting with Dima SPOILER!!: Dima New year, new history of magic professor, new rules, new possibilities and opportunities for learning. "Good morning, Professor Finch," She greeted the professor as she entered the room. Interesting desk layout. This looked like it would be a fun lesson. History was not always the most interesting of subjects, but the professors always found a way to make learning about history fun. A lot of history was actually quite interesting. Penelope found the desk with her name on it, which happened to be next to where Dima was already seated. "Hey Dima." He was in her house and year, but she didn't know him very well. She would have to fix this and get to know Dima. He was friends with her dorm mate Maddie, wasn't he? |
Team = Ariadne, Norah, Carl Henric gave the Slytherin first year a smile back."Hello Ariadne..uhh...I guess so, nice decoration on your nametag there, it looks great actually," he complimented the girl artistic sensibilities. He glanced down on his own nametag and contemplated whether he should decorate it. Like...they weren't in pre-school or anything...so. Maybe he should ask Ariadne to put some glitter on it...honestly, he didn't care. Another first year boy that he knew from his house came by to sit with them,"Hi Carl, glad you can join us," he grinned and watched him got started with his own designing. Hmm... maybe he should try some of his graffiti penmanship work on his nametag. Hey....he was making an effort, right? Right. |
An assigned seating plan? At once, Daxton knew he did not like this arrangement. Sure, assigned seats made things more predictable, and in some senses, predictability was comforting. But in this context, it meant that he did not have any control over where he could sit, meaning he might be stuck at the middle of the room, or even as far away from the door as it was possible to get, with a whole class of people in between him and the exit. That was unacceptable. It was anxiety-provoking. It was upsettingly uncomfortable. So, naturally, Daxton ignored the instructions entirely, rather than attempt to explain the situation to the professor. He had been tempted to turn right around and leave the room again, were it not for the fact that he did actually enjoy History of Magic - at least as much as he felt able to enjoy anything. After a moment of regarding those in the classroom, Daxton went ahead and snagged the first free seat that was closest to the door, not even seeking out his own name in the classroom. Barely glancing at the name of whomever's seat he had stolen, Daxton picked up a black marker from the middle of the table and crossed it out, making it entirely unreadable. With the hint of a frown on his face, Daxton looked up and right at the professor, turning the marker over and over in his hands and saying nothing. |
Daxton, Janelle claims you..........sort of. Janelle was busy watching the goings on in the classroom. This lesson was proving to be intersting already. She wondered if the professor had grouped the students randomly or with a purpose. What could they possibly be doing today. Curious, Janelle tried to think of some ideas. As she pondered the possiblites, Janelle's attention was drawn to a boy (Daxton) who sat down across from her. He was one of her housemates, Daxton she thought his name was. She didn't really know much about him because he wasn't really..........easy to get to know. People.......didn't really seem to be his thing. That much she had observed. Janelle watched as he appeared to cross out the name on the assigned nametag with a marker. She supressed a smile. You had to admire his spunk. He did things his way, no matter what the consequences were. Not wanting to intrude into his personal space, Janelle waited until he looked her way and gave him a head nod. Kind of an, I see you, but I respect your space thing. This was going to be a verrrry interesting class. |
Sitting with Rooney, Olly, Char "Morning Professor." Blaise greeted the very moment he'd entered the classroom. It was best to get that out of the way before he forgot now that most his attention was spent manually documenting things with a regular quill and notepad. The moment he could, he was ordering himself another quick quotes quill. His parents wouldn't have to know and he could bury it (safely) at the bottom of his trunk when he went home for the Christmas. This...this....NOT having his quill and notepad floating along behind him had long ago made him uncomfortable and coping mechanisms sucked. It was after his greeting that he realized two things. One: There was arranged seating. Two: He was not at the same table as Davie and could only wave to the boy as he walked by. The three was very close behind when he realized who WAS at his table. This was not his year at all. Of all the people to be assigned to sit next t--OHAI OLLY! Well that wasn't so bad then. Blaise headed over to the table, finding it wasn't nearly as hard to smile NOW and it looked like Char was sitting there too! He grinned at them both, pretending Rooney wasn't sitting there AT ALL because the boy was down right mean and for no reason Blaise could fathom either. He just...woke up one day and decided Blaise Bellaire was not a name he particularly liked. Clearly. |
Davie and Colt SPOILER!!: Ah, carp! Haddie entered and immediately frowned. Assigned seating? She hadn't been all that excited for this class to begin with, but at least hanging with Rachel would have helped but noooooo! Assigned seating! The most evilest and vilest thing teachers have ever come up with since the invention of homework. Ugh! Haddie waved at Rachel as she passed by her table to see if, maybe, on the off chance, she'd be at the same table? But nope. Of course not. As long as she wasn't with Davie, she'd be fine. Haddie continued to wander the room, looking for nametag, and with each table, wished a little harder she wouldn't be at the same table as Davie. And then finally she found her nametag. TYPICAL! Of course Haddie was at the same table as Davie. Like she'd said, the most evil and vilest invention since homework. She sat down with a huff and ignored the Ravenclaw bird-brain. "Hey Colt! How was the rest of your summer?" |
SPOILER!!: Oh This is Gonna be Fun Well seemed like his peace and quiet was gone and someone was going to sit by him. Well not like he could do anything about it and of course it was a first year. A first year he did not know. Well he did know her name since she just introduced herself. But still what was she doing to her name tag. Oh right you could embellish it. Never-mind. He did not care "Hey, I'm Dante". Now there was a friendly face. At least he was not going to be swarmed with first years. Zeke was at this table. Which probably meant Maggie was somewhere in the room. "Welcome to The Cool Kids Table Zeke. Though all we have is name-tags" Dante said picking up and dropping his. Though it did give him an idea. He took a black marker crossed out his last name. Picked up a red marker and wrote Inferno. And edited his first name with the black maker again. So his name was now Dante's Inferno. He liked it and the last member of the group showed up. Ah it was Prefect Henric's girlfriend and housemate. Plus did she and Zeke have something going on in Astronomy. "Hey Ilia" And Dante sooo saw that look at Zeke. Oh this should be fun. He wished he had popcorn ready |
