A referee (either Professor Airey or Professor Hirsch) will be present to oversee the duels and will only interfere if the duel ends or any foul play or unsportsmanship-like behaviour is displayed.
OOC: This duel must be completed by the 31st of March by 11:59pm GMT. You're required to make a minimum of 3 posts each in that time.

Remember to keep a track of your points both in the title of your post (before any spells have been cast) and at the end of the post (after your charrie has cast a spell). Please refer to this post if you're confused as to how this works or, simply, come to me. Include as much information as you can about the spell in the spoiler section at the bottom of your post, including the directionality of the spell.
Also remember to be as realistic as possible with your charrie's age and ability.
First person mentioned in the thread title is the first person to start off the duel.
Did Hirsch like seeing her duel boys? Was that it?
Because while a duel of course didn't usually give the physically stronger person an advantage per se, it DID seem a little unfair. So Maggie could only assume that he liked seeing her with boys. Was that a thing? Maybe he was just WAITING for her to faint and/or get knocked out so he could swoop in on his white horse (did they have white Abraxans? Or OMG a unicorn!!!!) and carry her to safety.
Yes. She liked that idea.
Upon walking in she sent a smirk to her best friend. "Dante." Hello. WAS HE READY TO LOSE??? Maggie bowed politely and waited for both of them to be ready. Like, she wanted to win her last duel fair and square. Which didn't mean that she wouldn't be the first to cast a spell of course.
Once again, ladies first.
Maggie quickly skipped backwards a few steps, then cast a Cracker Jinx at Dante. Mostly to distract him. Because the spell she actually wanted to get him with was "Everte Statum!" Sorry not sorry, Dante.

First it was Hugo and now it was Maggie. Did Hirsch like seeing Dante versus his friends because that is what i felt like to him. Though considering he knew mostly everyone in his year. Finding someone he did not know would be an accomplishment. Anyway enough about that, Duel Time.
"Maggie" He replied smirking back and bowing. Well then lets get this started. Ladies First and all. He sidestepped out of the way of the first spell and cast a Protego at the second one sending it back at her. Going to have to do better than that Maggie. "Mucus ad Nauseam"Dante cast mostly as a means to distract from what he really wanted to hi her with with was "Slugulus Eructo". No more going after hair this time. Though it was still amusing see someone lose their hair or watch it turn into antlers.
Or even more amusing seeing their head turn into a tentacle.

Curse of the Bogies (Mucus ad Nauseam): Causes the target to have a head cold and extremely runny nose
Maggie was somewhat disappointed that her spells hadn't hit. Although she should've expected it really. Dante wouldn't be that easy to defeat. She expected him to put up a fight. A proper fight. Otherwise she'd have to reconsider them being friends. No. Not really. But she WAS quite proud of him for dodging the spells she'd sent his way.
Well done, Dante.
Speaking of dodging though....Maggie quickly ducked out of the way of her own spell coming back to her. No way was she going to make it that easy for him. The thing was though, THREE spells heading her way was a bit too much. Even if she was totally intent on keeping her focus and not getting distracted this time. But three, well, that was too many at once.
Which was why she couldn't quite avoid the first one Dante had sent her way.
UGH!
What was up with people wanting to see her sneeze?! Sniffing (which, yes, was quite unladylike in this context) Maggie tried to not get too put off by her runny nose. Putting her head back a little she quickly cast "Protego!" around herself so at least she wouldn't be hit by the second spell.
SLUGS?? SERIOUSLY??????????
How DARE you, Dante Barrington?!?!?!?!?
"Expulso!" Her anger was more easily used as a catalyst for spells like this one. Not one where she had to actually focus and aim properly. She did direct the spell at the floor IN FRONT OF Dante obviously. Not AT him. Maggie had no intentions of blowing up her best friend there. Despite the fact that he'd tried to make her throw up slugs.
Like. Gross. Ugh.

And it looks, and he is no expert in the matter, like he got Maggie mad. Was it the slugs. Perhaps that was a tad overkill. Good thing that one did not hit her or he might have a trip to the hospital wing in the future. He did get a chuckle out of how un lady like she looked with his first spell hitting. Maybe he should have been paying attention a little bit more because he would have been able to roll away from her spell.
But nope, it hit RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM and blew him backwards right onto his back.
MAGDALENA TRAULTON THAT HURT.
AGAIN OUCH.
On his back he pointed his wand at her and said

"Finite." Ugh. Her voice sounded AWFUL! Like she was very very sick with a cold. It was NOT attractive at all. Like, rude, Dante. At least now the effects of that spell were gone. Maggie sniffed one last time and (for lack of a better option) used her sleeve to get rid of the last evidence that she'd just had a runny nose.
Ew. Ew. Ew. Nobody had seen that right?
At least her spell had hit Dante too. Heh. She didn't even feel bad. Okay, maybe a liiiiittlee bit worried. Not really though. A second of looking at him to make sure he was in fact alright was apparently too long and she almost didn't cast her shield quickly enough. As it were though it came up just in time for her to watch the spell deflect back to her friend.
And just for good measure Maggie sent a "Silencio!" at him. Now, how good was he at nonverbals?

(Finite MUST be cast on EACH spell to cancel them. The exception is spells that combine into ONE big spell: like Oppugo and Avis combine into attacking birds. ONE finite would be required to get rid of the attacking and the birds. If it was say, Rope and Ice, however, these are two separate spells that would need separate Finite's to cancel).

Dante got up and well he could not help but smile seeing her battle his magically induced running nose. It was amusing even if her last spell still hurt. But oh well she canceled it and well now he had a his spell coming back at him. Talk about rude. He dived out of the way of his own spell and well he was not fast enough for her second spell.
He was hurt and getting tired and NOW HE COULD NOT TALK.
Not Again. This HAS happened before with Thornton. He sent a rude gesture Maggie's way while smiling of course. Not caring that Hirsch was watching or maybe he was napping. Who knows if he thinks this is interesting or not.
AND his non verbals were not great, thank you very much.
So he could do nothing.
Note to Self work on non verbals if he wanted to do Dueling next year or if there even was going to be Dueling Club next term. You never know with this school. He already did the odds and well the odds of winning now were not in his favor.

Despite the smile on her friend's lips, Maggie tsked at him. Rude. But apparently non-verbals were NOT his forte. At least not judging by the lack of spells heading her way. She smirked, watching him for a few seconds before taking a step closer. Hmm. Now, she was still eying his wand just in case.
"Carpe Retractum."
Now, she'd learned to love that spell in her duel with Frankie. And now it would be even more fun because Dante apparently had no way of countering the spell. She could hug it all better once he was close enough. And yes, a simple Disarming Spell would've done the trick too but honestly, where was the fun in that?

Excuse you Dante Barrington, indeed.
Hirsch, who was watching in the background, spluttered at the sign that Dante was showing to Miss Traulton before quickly turning it into a hacking cough. This was slightly awkward, wasn't it? Because as professional as he was meant to seem, all he really wanted to do was laugh. Maybe he should be lucky that this wasn't a classroom setting? Hm?
So, being the great professional professor that he was, he was going to happily ignore that the gesture had happened.
You're welcome, Barrington.
The duel itself wasn't a bad one and he was actually impressed with the tactics of one Miss Traulton. Essentially, she'd weakened her opponent and he couldn't do anything in return. Well done, Maggie, well done. When it was time for the duel to end, the shield went up once more, making the rope spell useless. Sorry.
Stepping out, he made his way towards the two Slytherins, a smile on his face. "That was an interesting duel with some interesting new tactics." Eyes on you, Dante. "But there can only be one winner so.........." Drum roll? Could he get one? No? Shame. "Congratulations, Miss Traulton. I'm very impressed with your spellwork. And well done, Dante. You've put up a great fight." And he expected nothing less.
