The official home of the Lions, the Gryffindor common room, is found on the seventh floor of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The entrance to the common room is the portrait of the delightful Fat Lady. In order to gain entrance to your home away from home, Lions must know the password and speak it to her - assuming she isn't forcing you to listen to her sing of key that is.
This term's password is 'kulda tuure'.
Be sure to remember those words. Keep them secret, keep them safe. Without them the Fat Lady won't swing away from the hole and allow you to enter Gryffindor Tower and you'll be stuck picking your nose while waiting for a housemate to let you in. Once you're lucky enough to scramble through, you'll find yourself in the central common room (a perfectly circular area full of squashy armchairs, fluffy beanbag chairs, and tables, now referred to as the 'Lions' Den'. The large circular space has two adjacent rooms, the reading room and the game lounge, equipped with the resources and materials required to complete any homework assignments and distract oneself from doing any homework at all. Fixed to the wall by the windows you will find the pasteboard for classes and other school announcements.
The windows, wedged between falling tapestries and portraits of Heads of House past, look out onto the grounds of the school, and a large fireplace takes up a large section of the wall near the entrance to the common room. It's the perfect place to relax and hang out after a long day of classes. If however you are in need of a nap a good night's rest then there are two doors leading off from the common room that open to spiral staircases. Boys' dormitories are upstairs and to the right above the reading room, while girls' dormitories are upstairs and to the left above the game lounge. Be sure you don’t go breaking any of the rules by attempting to go up the wrong staircases. Boys don’t stand a chance of beating the enchanted staircase, and frankly girls should know better.
For whatever reason you're here, make sure you take good care of your home away from home. There's bound to be a perfect or your Head of House lurking in the shadows making sure you stay out of trouble...or ready to join in on whatever mischief you may be up to. This is Hogwarts after all. Anything can happen!

Kaycee offered a tiny smile. "I ran into Zeke and Maggie. They didn't look... talkative." Meaning, they were in the middle of a fight when she saw them. And she hadn't bothered running in to anyone else.
She nodded. "Does it get easier as the time passes?" she asked as she looked down. She just was hoping that over time it didn't feel as lonely. And since Kammy was in that place all last year, it would make sense that he'd know.
Kameron raised his eyebrows but didn't comment. The way Kaycee had said 'talkative' didn't sound very promising. "I haven't seen any of my friends," he said with a shrug even though she didn't ask, "That's kind of my fault though. I've been doing exactly this since we got here." As in, absolutely nothing.
He wanted to hug his sister at this point, but he didn't. He just lightly poked her side to get her to look at him. "It does get easier," he answered with a nod, all seriousness. "It kinda sucks for the first week or so, just 'cause you're so used to seeing them. But mirrors and stuff help. So it gets a lot easier." Hopefully that was the answer she was looking for.

A small laugh left the blonde girl as Alice spoke. "I can TRY! I do know some awesome things, after all! " MHMMM DORA WAS NOW A COOL OLDER STUDENT. YASSSS!
"Coooooool! You can come by my dorm tomorrow and I will show you my spiderling. She eats BUGS! " And it was AWESOME! Hehehehe. NOW BACK TO THE MATTER AT HAAAAND. S'MOREs! Pulling the kit out and grinned widely as she passed out the skewers.
"I don't have enough to share with EVERYONE, but I can definitely share with you two." Next she passed the marshmallows around, then the graham crackers and chocolate. Fixing up her set up of cracker to chocolate ratio, she finally stuck her marshmallow to the flames and smiled bigger.FIRE.
FIIIIIIIIIRE! SHE LOVED FIRE!

"A Tarantula!? That's awesome! Mine's name is Diaval." Like Maleficent's Raven.. did she already mention his name? Honestly she couldn't remember. It was all the excitement of making friends and whatnot.
Arista seemed like a really nice girl. Alice liked her already, she didn't know too many older students yet.. Arista and Timmy.. Did Dora count only being one year above her? Maybe. But then Dora mentioned s'mores and Alice nodded like it was nobodies business, her blue eyes looking from the fire back to her new friends. "I love S'mores! I usually make them with my little brother." Who she missed very much.. but at the same time he'd just be gross and annoying right now anyway.
Arista paled...Say what?? She wasn't a second year. Throwing her hands up in the air for dramatic effect she said "OH MY GOODNESS, I'm sorry!! Now that you mention it you look somewhat familiar..." She put her hand on her chin looking at the girl...Curious.. She would have to think about that one, if she had remembered her or not.
Overhearing Dora talk to Alice she blinked, did she just say what she thought she just said... "Um bugs!?" She looked around where, she did say dorm. Is it up there? Where was Dora's dorm was it near hers? She was going to die if she was near a bug, specially if it was a spider. Seeing the s'mores Arista went back to her fun self.
"Woot! S'mores are so yummy." She took the skewer as well as the marshmallow and stabbed the marshmallow onto the skewer. Placing it into the fire she put her chocolate onto her graham cracker. She smiled fire was great. "Thank you!!!" She loved it.
"This is delicious and good because I was starving!"

Thomas walked into see his girlfriend sitting with some other girls. He loved the way she was so friendly, so much better than himself. He chuckled and looked around the common room and saw an adorable first year aka Hope Summers! Walking over he threw himself near her and said "Hopey!! How are you Hope? Got anything you want to talk about to me?" He also sent her a smile chuckling he waved over at Arista and smiled. It was a longshot that she would be able to see her but maybe she would.
Hope jumped when Thomas had flopped down beside her. Then smiled as she regained her posture. "Hey Thomas! what are you up to?" She noticed him trying to give a wave to Arista, but doubted that Arista would see.
"You could always go say hi or just throw some food or something in front of her with a note that says "I'm to your right. look over here!"" Hope giggled.
Thomas was a great guy and she knew he loved Arista. It was plain to see. She hoped her and Spencer would become like that one day, just not any time soon.
"SO what are you getting into today? Anything exciting?"
Spencer walked into the Lions' Den and flopped in one of the chairs, he was feeling a bit better, but he was extremely tired for some reason. Rubbing his eyes, he shook himself awake, looking around his eyes brightened as he seen Thomas and Arista well as Hope. "Hey Thomas and Arista."said Spencer giving them a soft warm smile. Turning to Hope he smiled happily at her. "Hey Beautiful, how are you? "Spencer asked her as he gotten up sitting next to her. Spencer intertwined hands with her and rested his head against the back of the couch.
Although Spencer loved s'mores his stomach wouldn't let him have it, he didn't know why he felt so bad but he did, luckily in a few hours he'll feel better. He hated being sick, it wasn't any fun at all, but good thing Hope and the nurse at the Hospital Wing to make him better. He just wanted to get over this, he was tired of feeling this way, he wanted to be up and active not weak and not feeling good.

She nodded a little. "I don't know if that makes it better or worse." Because it kind of felt like if it started getting easier then that would mean things didn't matter as much? Maybe she was getting all up in her head too much. She took a breath to calm herself down.
She kept her eyes down and ignored the poke. "Okay. Is... is that a good thing?"

With a wave of his hands in front of him, he bit the inside of his cheek. Would the elves make them food EVER AGAIN? Or would they be stuck with cold sandwiches for the rest of the term? How badly would they get into trouble for stealing food from another house's table?
Sighing, Marsha shook her head sadly. ”No, I don’t think they would. They are probably really upset with us for wasting all of that food… and I understand that completely.” Who would waste food? Why not wait and have like a water fight or a paint fight or even a fight with gummy jelly sweeties… but not proper food. She was hungry just like every other Gryffindor due to the rain spoiling their food.
”Hopefully they like us enough to not make us starve and we will have food in the morning at the meeting Professor Airey is holding.” She hoped. She didn’t know if she would last on sandwiches and bread and water… she liked and needed protein too much for that.

He groaned, sliding down in his seat until his body was just about ready to slide all the way off. "I forgot about the meeting," he mumbled, flopping his arms over his eyes. The wet robes made it even colder though, which made him grumble more.
Standing up, he tore off his outer robe before flopping on the ground, back against the seat.

GRUMPY.
Marsha giggled. She couldn’t help it. Her best friend was in a grumpy moody, so she knew she shouldn’t be giggling, but he was so stompy and HUMPHy that it was hilarious. At least, it distracted her from wanting to eat.
As he slid down to sit on the floor in front of her, she patted his head a little as she tried to get her breath back. ”It’ll be fine, and as I said. There will be food. So if its boring, we can stand by the food and eat… and ignore what is being said.” It was a perfect plan. Yes it was… if she did say so herself of course.
However, at some point while she had been saying that, she had gone from patting his head to carding her fingers through his hair. Who knew it could feel so soft? Hmm…. it was a pretty decent length too. As she ran her fingers through it, she considered her options… and how much Lance would hate her if she started to pleat it. It was all good practise and in good jest. Right?
Deciding not to ask him out right as he had more chance to tell her no, she simply started pulling his hair into a pleat, just a thin one… to see if he hated it. Tessssting the waters.

We were IGNORING the giggling.
Though it did make him frown more, he spoke nothing of it. Why Sha was giggling anyways, he didn't know. But on the bright side, sorta, she was right. They'd have food in the morning. Just as long as it wouldn't be cold sandwiches, it was fine. He was far too used to the glorious food that Hogwarts created to be eating that.
There may have been a grunt for a response.
Sitting quite still as the redhead started playing with his hair, the young lion stared into the fireplace that was at least lit and bringing warmth. Some people were using it for s'mores or something, but he wasn't paying attention too much. His grumpy mood was dispersing and he could feel his eyelids drooping from the massage on his head and the heat from the flames.
Spencer walked into the Lions' Den and flopped in one of the chairs, he was feeling a bit better, but he was extremely tired for some reason. "Hey handsome. Still not feeling that well? How was the soup?" Hope had dropped off some hot chicken noodle soup to Spence in hopes that it would help him. He needed something he could keep down. She was always trying to help someone. And since she cared for Spencer a lot she didn't like seeing him hurting.
She tightened her grip on his hand just a tiny to let him know she was there if he needed anything. She knew guys didn't like feeling weak or show affection in front of people because it somehow took away from their manliness. Atleast that was how her brother was..
Kaycee laughed. "You've been lounging out on this chair the past few days?" Silly broface. "That probably isn't good for your back." Helpful sister was helpful.

"Not the whole time," Kameron defended himself. "I've been on the couch too." And he'd been other places. The great hall, the kitchen... You know, the usual. He wasn't entirely lazy.
Kam watched Kaycee's face carefully for a reaction. Damage control might be needed.
"It's a good thing," He assured her, no hint of doubt in his tone. "It doesn't mean that it's any less important or anything. You just... get used to it. You start looking forward to seeing them instead of moping. I would know- I did my share of moping. It'll be good, Kaycee. It's just... it's just hard for a little bit before it gets a bit better." That was encouraging. What a great pep talk.

Kaycee laughed. "Sounds like you've had some fantastic adventures." That was an exaggeration, obviously. But he seemed to have settled in nicely. She was a little bit jealous of that.
She nodded a little. "He said that too." She glanced at the fire for a few seconds. "I guess I'll have a little more time for my O.W.L.S. this year." That was probably good though, right?
"How's your last year so far?"

Marsha wasn’t really paying attention. Well, she was - but she wasn’t. She was so used to sitting with a few of her friends and pleating their hair or plaiting her own hair that it felt like a natural progression. Honestly it did. Lance’s hair was long-ish and shaggy… more than long enough for some pleats if you did it carefully and close to his head.
So, as she sat staring into the fire and considering the meeting she needed to have with Professor Flamsteed and the welcoming meeting she wanted to have with the new Care of Magical Creatures Professor… Draper she thought his name was… her fingers played. They wrapped his hair around and through her fingers, pleating slowly. She didn’t put too much thought into what she was doing, simply letting her fingers do their thing as her eyes-half looked into the flames and half-checked what her fingers were doing without actually registering with her brain.
Lance’s hair was completely pleated in thick plaits before she knew what she was doing… and she only realised she had finished as her fingers had run out of hair to play with.

It wouldn't necessarily be exploring since he somewhat new his way around Hogwarts...Okay he didn't know it that well Arista was always there to show him where things were.
He opened one eye at the arrival of the boy and nodded. "Hello Spencer." he looked over at Arista who had yet to notice any of the three's arrival. Looking over at Spencer he said "Still not feeling better?"

He was going to go exploring??Yay!! She could use someone to go exploring with. "Do you mind if I tag along? I would really love to see the school in all it's glory."
She was really hoping to meet a few new people while she was at it. She also needed to learn where some hiding places were. That way she could do some things... Those things she wouldn't be telling people. Her face gave it away though. Devious things.
She looked at Spencer. "What do you have planned for today?"

Spencer looked at Thomas. "No but better then I was thanks to Hope's soup and some medicine. " said Spencer. "I just probably need to get out and do some stuff, besides being cooped up in the castle is driving me crazy! "said Spencer. Although he drew so many things in his sketchpad that he had quite a bit to show Hope and the others. This past week, Spencer haven't done much, he wanted to explore the castle and make some new friends, he wasn't able to while he was sick. It was just so lovely being sick the first week back, but he was glad that he was getting better.
"Do yoummind if I tag along as well Thomas? I haven't been out much, being sick sort of prevented that! "said Spencer. Spencer was afraid to be around Hope in fear that he'll get her sick, so he asked her to go have fun without him. "I don't have anything planned for today, although I have my sketch book is so filled with drawings from being sick it's ridiculous, I'll show you guys it later though. "said Spencer. Spencer just wanted to do something outside of the Gryffindor common room, he seen to much of it these past days. It wasn't like he didn't love the Gryffindor common room, he just seen nothing but it the past. Of course he went to his classes, but afterwards it was straight back here due to not feeling well.

Noelle had just closed her Herbology book. She had scribbled out every note card she could to help her study. Her brain hurt from everything she was trying to cram into it. She tucked the parchment cards into the book so that they were sticking out. She would study later.
Pulling her light blanket around her, Noelle got up from the small table she had been studying at and went to sit by the fire. She pulled a few pillows up by her to get comfortable. She was becoming more at ease the more she studied, and the better her defensive spells became. She had a lot of work to do, but slow and steady won the race.
Noelles mind began to drift as she stared at the fire. Sabbie had been upset with her lately and she hadn't the slightest why. Noah had been quiet too. Though it was probably her fault. She was stuck in her studies a lot lately. She hadn't even worried about eating like she was supposed to. Not that her body minded, it was used to not eating a lot at this point.
Noelle sighed. She'd take studying over boys any day.

Hope wandered out of the dorm so bored. All her work was caught up and she had no idea where her friends had run off to. Taking out a stick of gum, she popped it in her mouth and worked her way into the den. There she spotted her cousin. Excitement took over and she ran towards Noelle, but stopped short remembering that she could easily scare her. She smiled and grabbed a couple of pillows and a blanket and plopped down beside her. "Hey cous! How are you doing? What you thinking about?" She blew a bubble. Hope had noticed that her cousin a little lost in her own world. She must've been thinking about something.
Let your light shine || Be the sun || You're important. Always.
Hearing a voice, Noelle was pulled from her thoughts to see her cousin plop down beside her. She blushed and smiled sheepishly at her. "Hey Hope." She said and moved to include her in her own little bubble. "Oh, um... Sabbie actually. Noelle told her cousin and gave a sigh to follow.
Her and Sabbie had their ups and downs since they had met. The two being totally different but somehow the same. For the most part they had been inseperable since they had met but not lately.
"Also, of Noah." Hope should know about Noah too. Noelle hung out with him quite a bit too.... Apart from Sabbie though due to Sabbie's temper. Noah was a gentle soul who always had Noelle's best interest at heart. He was funny and felt like home. He had visited over the summer and over Christmas break. He'd been devastated when Noelle had been taken.
"What about you? What have you been up to?" Noelle asked Hope and moved to lay her head in her cousins lap so she could look at the fire.

I know Sabbie likes to flirt, but I can't see him liking you hanging out with any guys. And you are popular. You have alot of people who care about you. Maybe he sees Noah as competition? And when am I going to meet this Noah?" She continued stroking her cousin's hair as she thought about it. Guys were finicky like that. They can flirt, but if a girl does it, it's a problem.
She came out of her own little world, popping another bubble. "I've been good. Hanging out with Spencer and doing my work. And of course worrying about you. I'm sorry I'm so overprotective. " when she talked about Spencer she blushed. He was such a good bf.

S'mores sounded so good right now. It was times like these that Noelle felt almost back to normal. And her appetite came back a little. She wondered if a house elf would be so kind to bring them some s'mores because she didn't want to go any place right now. She was enjoying her cousin stroking her hair. "I don't know. He's been weird lately. Maybe it's me. I have been studying a whole lot more. And you know studying isn't Sabbie's strongpoint." Noelle let out a breath as Hope talked about him being jealous of Noah.
"Sabbath has no room to be jealous. He's the one that's out flirting and... Well he's engaged to a girl. We haven't talked about terms. He's free to do whatever. As am I. We aren't together." Noelle had made it clear to him about that. She wasn't one to share.
"Im surprised you haven't met him already. He's in ravenclaw." Noelle said to Hope, talking about Noah. She watched the fire. Grinning when Hope mentioned Spencer. "How are you and Spencer?"

"You know guys are crazy. I'll never understand them." She shrugged and her stomach roared. She was hungry. "I'm hungry. I'll be right back. What you in the mood for? S'mores? Like old times?" before noelle could answer Hope was gone, getting s'mores.
Hope came back with an armful of stuff. She tossed it down between them. "ok back to business. Sabbath and you are so cute. I wish you guys could be together. But that's none of my business. We are only 12 and 13. I still can't believe he's engaged. Him and José." Hope thought about their different cultures.
When Noelle asked about her Spencer she blushed again. "We are good. Just hanging out and enjoying each other's company. He's so sweet." Spencer was amazing in Hope's eyes. He was talented and sweet.

Indeed, boys were strange.
Before Noelle could get another word out though, Hope was up and out. Noelle slumped against the ground for a second before giggling and pushing herself up into sitting position. She waited for her cousin to come back.
It didn't take long for her cousin to be back. She dropped goodies in between them. Noelle instantly took a marshmallow and a poker, and started roasting a marshmallow. "Sabbie and I... We... I just don't like some of the stuff he does. He tells me he likes me but then I find out things and...." Noelle got quiet and roasted her marshmallow until it caught fire. Then she blew it out and took it out of the fire. "But we've been through a lot together and he's my rock."
It was no secret that her and Sabbie were complicated. But best friends, Noelle always wanted to be.
"Valentines day is coming up in a couple weeks." Noelle said giving a grin to Hope as she blushes about Spencer. "Do you think you two will go to madam puddifoots?" Noelle figured she would just take that night to do a bit of extra studying while the castle was empty.

Hope grabbed a poker and put the marshmallow over the fire. Letting it burn on one side and then blowing it out and squishing it between chocolate and Graham crackers. She loved smores.
She was curious about what Noelle heard about Sabbath, but she didn't want to pry. She knew Sabbath and Noelle had a... well hard relationship. "I know you are best friends. Maybe that's all you need to be. Sabbath is from a different culture. Of course you know that. Hope tried making it into a joke and nudged Noelle with her shoulder. "I guess we will just never know how to handle guys. And no I haven't met Noah. It's a big school. She laughed.
Thinking about Valentines day hope coughed. She never had a Valentines before. Now she had the butterflies. "I never had a valentines. Merlin, I'm nervous now." She bit her lip but tasted marshmallow on it and liked it off. Yummy.

Thinking of her and Sabbie was making her sad. Noelle bit the gooey marshmallow off the poker and nommed it as she thought. "I wish we could be more sometimes. But there doesn't seem to be a good way to do it. He's not a one woman boy, and you know I'm very faithful." That's how she'd been raised. She loved watching her parents in the kitchen. The way they kissed and poked at each other when they thought no one was looking. You could see the love in their eyes when they looked at each other. Noelle didn't want that right now, of course, but somewhere down the road, she would. A long long time from now.
"He is a good kisser though." Noelle said and blushed. Knowing Hope, she would get a joke or two about it. This felt like old times though. Noelle smiled, enjoying her
Mind being free for a moment.
Noelle giggled and poked her sisters side as she blushed too. "You two should go on a date. Oh gosh, a date! That's so exciting. You should write him a note and send it off. Tell him to check yes or no if he wants to go out on a date with you." Because that would be cute
